The enthalpies of vaporization of different classes three-coordinated arsenic compounds have been determined according to their enthalpies of solution in hexane and molar refraction. The enthalpies of solvation of cyclic and acyclic As(III)-derivatives in hexane, carbon tetrachloride,p-xylene and pyridine are obtained and discussed. Part 6, see Ref. [1].  相似文献

The molar enthalpies of solution at infinite dilution of methyl-, ethyl-, n-butyl-and n-pentylacetate, and ethylpropionate, ethylbutanoate and ethylhexanoate were obtained by means of calorimetric determinations in 1,2-dichloroethane and n-hexane. From these values and the standard molar enthalpy of vaporization, the standard molar enthalpy of solvation of these esters in both solvents were calculated. These calculated values are shown to correlate with the number of methylene groups in the esters.  相似文献

Molar enthalpies of solution at infinite dilution have been determined at 25°C for several N-alkyl and N,N-dialkylamides in water and in carbon tetrachloride, using a Calvet-type rotating calorimeter, and solution concentrations below 5×10–2 molal. Relevant enthalpies of transfer between the two solvents also have been derived. Molar enthalpies of solvation have been obtained by adding enthalpies of vaporization to solution values. Results are compared with those of other laboratories on other substituted amides, and their dependence on the number of carbon atoms in the chain is discussed. A possible computation of solvation enthalpies of functional groups is suggested and results for hydration of peptide or similar groups present in the compounds examined are discussed in terms of current models of their hydration and hydrogen bond formation.Presented at the sixth Italian meeting on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (AICAT) held in Naples, December 4–7, 1984.  相似文献

A simple method for the calculation of the enthalpy of solvation is presented and demonstrated for 35 n-alkane + n-alkane solutions at 25°C. There is a good agreement between the predicted and experimental values. The calculation was based on the separation of the solvation enthalpy into the cavity formation and solute-solvent interaction contributions. The former term was determined from the activation enthalpy of the solvent viscous flow and solute molar volume while the latter on the basis of the dispersion energy using van der Waals diameters for n-propyl group. The procedure was also successful in prediction of the vaporization enthalpy of C5–C17 n-alkanes.  相似文献

Ternary excess molar enthalpies, HmE, at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure measured by using a flow microcalorimeter are reported for the (methanol+ethanol+tetrahydropyran) and (methanol+ethanol+1,4-dioxane) mixtures. The pseudobinary excess molar enthalpies for all the systems are found to be positive over the entire range of compositions. The experimental results are correlated with a polynomial equation to estimate the coefficients and standard errors. The results have been compared with those calculated from a UNIQUAC associated solution model in terms of the self-association of alcohols as well as solvation between unlike alcohols and alcohols with tetrahydropyran or 1,4-dioxane. The association constants, solvation constants and optimally fitted binary parameters obtained solely from the pertinent binary correlation predict the ternary excess molar enthalpies with an excellent accuracy.  相似文献

Solutions of tetrahexylammonium salts in mixtures of water with additives of hydrophilic substances formamide and carbamide were studied by the thermochemical method at 298.15 K. The enthalpies of solution of tetrahexylammonium perchlorate were measured by the sedimentation method, and the enthalpies of solution of tetrahexylammonium bromide were calculated. The enthalpic coefficients of pair interaction electrolyte—amide in an aqueous solution were determined. The data obtained were compared with those for te tramethyl- tetraethyl- and tetrabutylammonium salts to study the influence of the tetraalkylammonium cation size on its solvation and interaction with amides in an aqueous solution.  相似文献

In this work the enthalpy of the solute-solvent interaction of erythritol and L-threitol in aqueous solution was determined from the values obtained for the enthalpy of solvation. The values for this property were calculated from those determined for the enthalpies of solution and sublimation. To determine the values of the enthalpy of solute-solvent interaction, the solvation process is considered as taking place in three steps: opening a cavity in the solvent to hold the solute molecule, changing the solute conformation when it passes from the gas phase into solution, and interaction between the solute and the solvent molecules. The cavity enthalpy was calculated by the scaled particle theory and the conformational enthalpy change was estimated from the value of this function in the gas phase and in solution. Both terms were determined by DFT calculations. The solvent effect on the solute conformation in solution was estimated using the CPCM solvation model. The importance of the cavity and conformational terms in the interpretation of the enthalpy of solvation is noted. While the cavity term has been used by some authors, the conformational term is considered for the first time. The structural features in aqueous solution of erythritol and L-threitol are discussed.  相似文献

This work has been undertaken in order to obtain data on thermodynamic properties of organic carbonates and to revise the group-additivity values necessary for predicting their standard enthalpies of formation and enthalpies of vaporization. The standard molar enthalpies of formation of dibenzyl carbonate, tert-butyl phenyl carbonate, and diphenyl carbonate were measured using combustion calorimetry. Molar enthalpies of vaporization of these compounds were obtained from the temperature dependence of the vapor pressure measured by the transpiration method. Molar enthalpy of sublimation of diphenyl carbonate was measured in the same way. Ab initio calculations of molar enthalpies of formation of organic carbonates have been performed using the G3MP2 method, and results are in excellent agreement with the available experiment. Then the group-contribution method has been developed to predict values of the enthalpies of formation and enthalpies of vaporization of organic carbonates.  相似文献

The solution enthalpies of formamide and N,N-dimethyl- and diethylamides of formic and acetic acids in a water—glycerol mixed solvent were measured and the solvation enthalpies were calculated. The enthalpy coefficients of amide—glycerol pair interactions in aqueous solution were calculated. The effect of the mixture composition and the structure and properties of solutes on the enthalpic characteristics were considered. The contributions of structural fragments of the amide molecules to the enthalpic characteristics of solutions were calculated in the framework of the proposed additive scheme. This made it possible to analyze the role of nonspecific and specific solvations of the amides in solution and predict the vaporization, solution, and solvation enthalpies and enthalpy coefficients of pair interactions of experimentally unstudied N-methylformamide, N-ethylformamide, N-methyl-N-ethylformamide, N-methylacetamide, N-ethylacetamide, and N-methyl-N-ethylacetamide in a water—glycerol mixture, as well as donor numbers for these amides. ABSTRACT

The present work is devoted to the thermochemical study of solvation of ionic liquids (IL) in benzene. The solution enthalpies of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide [EMIM][C(CN)3], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF4], 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [HMIM][PF6], 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF4], 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [EMIM][NTf2], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [BMIM][NTf2] and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate [BMIM][TfO] in benzene were measured. The solvation enthalpies of imidazolium-based IL were calculated. Molar refractions of imidazolium-based IL form literature data on density and refractive indexes of IL were also calculated. The linear correlation between solvation enthalpy and molar refraction of IL was observed. This correlation can be used to calculate the vaporization enthalpy of imidazolium-based IL from solution calorimetry data.  相似文献

The enthalpies of solution of α- and β-cyclodextrins is aqueous peptide solutions were determined experimentally at 298.15 K. The obtained results were used to calculate pair cross interaction parameters between solutes. The results are discussed in terms of the likelysolute–solute interactions. For systems α-cyclodextrin+peptide and β-cyclodextrin+peptide the diametrically opposite character of interaction defined by structure and solvation of the molecules is observed. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The enthalpies of solvation of four geometric isomers of 2,5-dimethyl-1-phenyl-1-thioxophosphorinan-4-one in chloroform, nitrobenzene, and methanol were calculated using the enthalpies of vaporization of the isomers determined by the modified Solomonov—Konovalov method from the enthalpies of solution of the compounds in CCl4 andp-xylene and molar refractions. The enthalpies of formation (ΔH f o) of the isomers in the condensed and gas phase were assessed in the framework of Benson's group additivity scheme by summing the ΔH f o values for phosphacycloketone fragments obtained from molecular mechanics calculations with the contributions of the phenyl group and S atom attached to the P atom. It is well known that gas‐phase experiments and computational methods point to the dominance of dispersion forces in the molecular association of hydrocarbons. Estimates or even quantification of these weak forces are complicated due to solvent effects in solution. The dissection of interaction energies and quantification of dispersion interactions is particularly challenging for polar systems such as ionic liquids (ILs) which are characterized by a subtle balance between Coulomb interactions, hydrogen bonding, and dispersion forces. Here, we have used vaporization enthalpies, far‐infrared spectroscopy, and dispersion‐corrected calculations to dissect the interaction energies between cations and anions in aprotic (AILs), and protic (PILs) ionic liquids. It was found that the higher total interaction energy in PILs results from the strong and directional hydrogen bonds between cation and anion, whereas the larger vaporization enthalpies of AILs clearly arise from increasing dispersion forces between ion pairs.  相似文献

The enthalpies of solution of uracil and its alkylated derivatives in water, methanol, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and water+DMF mixtures were measured at 25°C. The enthalpies of solvation were determined. The enthalpies of cavity formation, corresponding to the enthalpies of solvent-solvent interactions were calculated and the enthalpies of solute-solvent interactions were obtained. The presence of the alkyl groups was found to have different effects on the enthalpy of interaction depending on the position and size of the substitution. The effect of alkylation at the nonpolar side of the uracil ring was found to arise mostly from the enhancement of the van der Waals interactions. The alkyl substitutions at the polar side resulted also in the removal of the solvent molecules interacting specifically with the polar groups of uracil. The enthalpy of those specific interactions was determined and found to be stronger in methanol and DMF than in water. Enthalpies of solvation in the binary water+DMF solvent were found to depend in a nonlinear way on the solvent composition. The nonlinearities in the water-rich region were found to arise from the decay of the hydrophobic hydration of the solutes with the increasing DMF content. The substitution of two methyl groups caused the uracil molecule to bahave as a predominantly hydrophobic solute. The nonlinearities in the DMF-rich region were found only for those solutes which can form hydrogen bonds with DMF.  相似文献

The standard (p degrees = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation in the condensed phase of all the fluoroanilines, with the exception of the 2,3,5-trifluoroaniline compound, were derived from the standard molar energies of combustion in oxygen at T = 298.15 K, measured by rotating bomb combustion calorimetry. Calvet high-temperature vacuum sublimation experiments were performed to measure their enthalpies of vaporization or sublimation. These experiments allowed the determination of the standard molar enthalpies of formation in the gaseous phase and at T = 298.15 K. These values are also compared with estimates based on G3MP2B3 and BP86/6-31+G(d) computations, which have been extended also to the fluoroaniline that was not studied experimentally. The results are in close agreement with a mean deviation of approximately 3 kJ.mol-1. The largest difference between experimental and G3MP2B3 values is found for the pentafluoroaniline (-7.0 kJ.mol-1). For the three monofluoroanilines, the composite approach has been used also to compute gas-phase acidities, electron and proton affinities, ionization enthalpies and N-H bond dissociation enthalpies. The computed values compare well with available experimental results supporting the new computed data.  相似文献

Enthalpies of dissolution of acetonitrile, propylene carbonate, and 1,4-dioxane in mixtures of water with acetone or DMSO were measured in the whole concentration range of the mixed solvents. Standard enthalpies of dissolution and enthalpies of transfer of solutes from water to its mixtures with acetone or DMSO were determined. In the region of small proportions of the nonaqueous component, the enthalpy of cavity formation in the mixed solvent makes the main contribution to the variation of the enthalpy of dissolution. An increase in the proportion of the nonaqueous component leads to competition between the contributions of cavity formation and specific interaction between the solute and the solvent during solvation.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
