Gorenstein Injective and Gorenstein Flat Resolution of Modules Over Gorenstein Rings

Abstract

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. There are several characterizations of Gorenstein rings in terms of classical homological dimensions of their modules. In this paper, we use Gorenstein dimensions (Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat dimension) to describe Gorenstein rings. Moreover a characterization of Gorenstein injective (resp. Gorenstein flat) modules over Gorenstein rings is given in terms of their Gorenstein flat (resp. Gorenstein injective) resolutions.

On Gorenstein FP-Injective and Gorenstein Flat Complexes

In this article, the concept of Gorenstein FP-injective modules and some related known results are generalized to Gorenstein FP-injective complexes. Moreover, some new characterizations of Gorenstein flat complexes are given. It is also proved that every complex has a Gorenstein flat preenvelope over coherent rings with finite self-FP-injective dimension.

Gorenstein flatness and injectivity over Gorenstein rings

Let R be a Gorenstein ring.We prove that if I is an ideal of R such that R/I is a semi-simple ring,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of R/I as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of R/I as a left R-module are identical.In addition,we prove that if R→S is a homomorphism of rings and SE is an injective cogenerator for the category of left S-modules,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of S as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of E as a left R-module are identical.We also give some applications of these results.     

Gorenstein Coalgebras

We study a class of semiperfect coalgebras which generalizes Quasi-co-Frobenius coalgebras (from the point of view of the projective dimension). This class of coalgebras allows us to study a relative concept of injective comodule in terms of the cotensor functor, generalizing a well-known result about coflat comodules.     

Gorenstein quivers

In this paper we characterize when the path ring associated to a quiver is Gorenstein (in the sense of Iwanaga [9]). Then, by using the notion of a Gorenstein category (cf. [2]), we extend the classes of quivers whose corresponding category of representations has finite Gorenstein global dimension. This extension includes non-noetherian quivers. E. Gorenstein Injective and Gorenstein Flat Dimensions Under Base Change

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate some connections between Gorenstein flat and Gorenstein injective dimensions of complexes over different rings.     

Approximately intertwining mappings

Let A be a Banach algebra, and let E be a weak Banach A-bimodule. An approximately intertwining mapping corresponding to a functional equation E(f)=0 is a mapping with f(0)=0 such that

Approximately spectrum-preserving maps

Let X and Y be superreflexive complex Banach spaces and let B(X) and B(Y) be the Banach algebras of all bounded linear operators on X and Y, respectively. If a bijective linear map Φ:B(X)→B(Y) almost preserves the spectra, then it is almost multiplicative or anti-multiplicative. Furthermore, in the case where X=Y is a separable complex Hilbert space, such a map is a small perturbation of an automorphism or an anti-automorphism.     

Approximately Local Derivations

Certain linear operators from a Banach algebra A into a BanachA-bimodule X, which are called approximately local derivations,are studied. It is shown that when A is a C^*-algebra, a Banachalgebra generated by idempotents, a semisimple annihilator Banachalgebra, or the group algebra of a SIN or a totally disconnectedgroup, bounded approximately local derivations from A into Xare derivations. This, in particular, extends a result of B.E. Johnson that ‘local derivations on C^*-algebras arederivations’ and provides an alternative proof of it.     

Gorenstein derived functors

Over any associative ring it is standard to derive using projective resolutions in the first variable, or injective resolutions in the second variable, and doing this, one obtains in both cases. We examine the situation where projective and injective modules are replaced by Gorenstein projective and Gorenstein injective ones, respectively. Furthermore, we derive the tensor product using Gorenstein flat modules.

     

Gorenstein Projective Precovers

We prove that the class of Gorenstein projective modules is special precovering over any left GF-closed ring such that every Gorenstein projective module is Gorenstein flat and every Gorenstein flat module has finite Gorenstein projective dimension. This class of rings includes (strictly) Gorenstein rings, commutative noetherian rings of finite Krull dimension, as well as right coherent and left n-perfect rings. In Sect. 4 we give examples of left GF-closed rings that have the desired properties (every Gorenstein projective module is Gorenstein flat and every Gorenstein flat has finite Gorenstein projective dimension) and that are not right coherent.
