Let X be a non-void set and A be a subalgebra of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) . We call a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -linear functional \({\varphi}\) on A a 1-evaluation if \({\varphi(f) \in f(X) }\) for all \({f\in A}\) . From the classical Gleason–Kahane–?elazko theorem, it follows that if X in addition is a compact Hausdorff space then a mapping \({\varphi}\) of \({C_{\mathbb{C}}(X) }\) into \({\mathbb{C}}\) is a 1-evaluation if and only if \({\varphi}\) is a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphism. In this paper, we aim to investigate the extent to which this equivalence between 1-evaluations and \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphisms can be generalized to a wider class of self-conjugate subalgebras of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) . In this regards, we prove that a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -linear functional on a self-conjugate subalgebra A of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) is a positive \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphism if and only if \({\varphi}\) is a \({\overline{1}}\) -evaluation, that is, \({\varphi(f) \in\overline{f\left(X\right)}}\) for all \({f\in A}\) . As consequences of our general study, we prove that 1-evaluations and \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphisms on \({C_{\mathbb{C}}\left( X\right)}\) coincide for any topological space X and we get a new characterization of realcompact topological spaces.  相似文献

Let \(\pi _{\varphi }\) (or \(\pi _{\psi }\)) be an automorphic cuspidal representation of \(\text {GL}_{2} (\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\) associated to a primitive Maass cusp form \(\varphi \) (or \(\psi \)), and \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\) be the jth symmetric power lift of \(\pi _{\varphi }\). Let \(a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)\) denote the nth Dirichlet series coefficient of the principal L-function associated to \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\). In this paper, we study first moments of Dirichlet series coefficients of automorphic representations \(\mathrm{sym}^3 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{4}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\), and \(\pi _{\psi }\otimes \mathrm{sym}^2 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{6}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\). For \(3 \le j \le 8\), estimates for \(|a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)|\) on average over a short interval have also been established.  相似文献

This paper continues the study of four-dimensional Poincaré duality cobordism theory from our previous work Cavicchioli et al. (Homol. Homotopy Appl. 18(2):267–281, 2016). Let P be an oriented finite Poincaré duality complex of dimension 4. Then, we calculate the Poincaré duality cobordism group \(\Omega _{4}^{{\text {PD}}}(P)\). The main result states the existence of the exact sequence \(0 \rightarrow L_4 (\pi _1 (P))/A_4 (H_2 (B\pi _1 (P), L_2)) \rightarrow {{\widetilde{\Omega }}}_{4}^{\mathrm{PD}}(P) \rightarrow \mathbb Z_8 \rightarrow 0\), where \({{\widetilde{\Omega }}}_{4}^{\mathrm{PD}}(P)\) is the kernel of the canonical map \({\Omega }_{4}^{\mathrm{PD}}(P) \rightarrow H_4 (P, \mathbb Z) \cong \mathbb Z\) and \(A_4 : H_4 (B\pi _1, \mathbb L) \rightarrow L_4 (\pi _1 (P))\) is the assembly map. It turns out that \({\Omega }_{4}^{\mathrm{PD}}(P)\) depends only on \(\pi _1 (P)\) and the assembly map \(A_4\). This does not hold in higher dimensions. Then, we discuss several examples. The cases in which the canonical map \(\Omega _{4}^{{\text {TOP}}}(P) \rightarrow \Omega _{4}^{{\text {PD}}}(P)\) is not surjective are of particular interest. Its image coincides with the kernel of the total surgery obstruction map. In fact, we establish an exact sequence where s is Ranicki’s total surgery obtruction map. In the above cases, there are \({\text {PD}}_4\)-complexes X which cannot be homotopy equivalent to manifolds.

Let \(\mathcal S\) be an abelian group of automorphisms of a probability space \((X, {\mathcal A}, \mu )\) with a finite system of generators \((A_1, \ldots , A_d).\) Let \(A^{{\underline{\ell }}}\) denote \(A_1^{\ell _1} \ldots A_d^{\ell _d}\), for \({{\underline{\ell }}}= (\ell _1, \ldots , \ell _d).\) If \((Z_k)\) is a random walk on \({\mathbb {Z}}^d\), one can study the asymptotic distribution of the sums \(\sum _{k=0}^{n-1} \, f \circ A^{\,{Z_k(\omega )}}\) and \(\sum _{{\underline{\ell }}\in {\mathbb {Z}}^d} {\mathbb {P}}(Z_n= {\underline{\ell }}) \, A^{\underline{\ell }}f\), for a function f on X. In particular, given a random walk on commuting matrices in \(SL(\rho , {\mathbb {Z}})\) or in \({\mathcal M}^*(\rho , {\mathbb {Z}})\) acting on the torus \({\mathbb {T}}^\rho \), \(\rho \ge 1\), what is the asymptotic distribution of the associated ergodic sums along the random walk for a smooth function on \({\mathbb {T}}^\rho \) after normalization? In this paper, we prove a central limit theorem when X is a compact abelian connected group G endowed with its Haar measure (e.g., a torus or a connected extension of a torus), \(\mathcal S\) a totally ergodic d-dimensional group of commuting algebraic automorphisms of G and f a regular function on G. The proof is based on the cumulant method and on preliminary results on random walks.  相似文献

We describe a class of discontinuous additive functions \({a:X\to X}\) on a real topological vector space X such that \({a^n={\rm id}_X}\) and \({a({\mathcal{H}}){\setminus} {\mathcal{H}}\neq\emptyset}\) for every infinite set \({{\mathcal{H}}\subset X}\) of vectors linearly independent over \({\mathbb{Q}}\). We prove the density of the family of all such functions in the linear topological space \({{\mathcal{A}}_X}\) of all additive functions \({a:X\to X}\) with the topology induced on \({{\mathcal{A}}_X}\) by the Tychonoff topology of the space XX. Moreover, we consider additive functions \({a\in{\mathcal{A}}_X}\) satisfying \({a^n={\rm id}_X}\) and \({a({\mathcal{H}})= {\mathcal{H}}}\) for some Hamel basis \({{\mathcal{H}}}\) of X. We show that the class of all such functions is also dense in \({{\mathcal{A}}_X}\). The method is based on decomposition theorems for linear endomorphisms.  相似文献

First, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for embeddings of Bessel potential spaces \({H^{\sigma}X(\mathbb R^n)}\) with order of smoothness less than one, modelled upon rearrangement invariant Banach function spaces \({X(\mathbb R^n)}\), into generalized Hölder spaces. To this end, we derive a sharp estimate of modulus of smoothness of the convolution of a function \({f\in X(\mathbb R^n)}\) with the Bessel potential kernel g σ , 0 < σ < 1. Such an estimate states that if \({g_{\sigma}}\) belongs to the associate space of X, then
$\omega(f*g_{\sigma},t)\precsim \int\limits_0^{t^n}s^{\frac{\sigma}{n}-1}f^*(s)\,ds \quad {\rm for\,all} \quad t\in(0,1) \quad {\rm and\,every}\quad f\in X(\mathbb R^n).$
Second, we characterize compact subsets of generalized Hölder spaces and then we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for compact embeddings of Bessel potential spaces \({H^{\sigma}X(\mathbb R^n)}\) into generalized Hölder spaces. We apply our results to the case when \({X(\mathbb R^n)}\) is the Lorentz–Karamata space \({L_{p,q;b}(\mathbb R^n)}\). In particular, we are able to characterize optimal embeddings of Bessel potential spaces \({H^{\sigma}L_{p,q;b}(\mathbb R^n)}\) into generalized Hölder spaces and also compact embeddings of spaces in question. Applications cover both superlimiting and limiting cases.

Call a set \({A \subseteq \mathbb {R}}\)paradoxical if there are disjoint \({A_0, A_1 \subseteq A}\) such that both \({A_0}\) and \({A_1}\) are equidecomposable with \({A}\) via countabbly many translations. \({X \subseteq \mathbb {R}}\) is hereditarily nonparadoxical if no uncountable subset of \({X}\) is paradoxical. Penconek raised the question if every hereditarily nonparadoxical set \({X \subseteq \mathbb {R}}\) is the union of countably many sets, each omitting nontrivial solutions of \({x - y = z - t}\). Nowik showed that the answer is ‘yes’, as long as \({|X| \leq \aleph_\omega}\). Here we show that consistently there exists a counterexample of cardinality \({\aleph_{\omega+1}}\) and it is also consistent that the continuum is arbitrarily large and Penconek’s statement holds for any \({X}\).  相似文献

We give a sufficient and necessary condition for an analytic function f(z) on the unit disc \({\mathbb{D}}\) with Hadamard gaps, that is, for \({f(z)=\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}a_kz^{n_k}}\) where \({n_{k+1}/n_k\geq\lambda >1 }\) for all \({k\in \mathbb{N}}\), to belong to the weighted-type space \({ H_\mu^{\infty}}\), under some condition posed on the weight function μ. We can define the corresponding little weighted-type space \({H_{\mu,0}^{\infty}}\) and give a criterion for functions to belong to it.  相似文献

We call the \({\delta}\)-vector of an integral convex polytope of dimension d flat if the \({\delta}\)-vector is of the form \({(1,0,\ldots,0,a,\ldots,a,0,\ldots,0)}\), where \({a \geq 1}\). In this paper, we give the complete characterization of possible flat \({\delta}\)-vectors. Moreover, for an integral convex polytope \({\mathcal{P}\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) of dimension d, we let \({i(\mathcal{P},n)=|n\mathcal{P}\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},n)=|n(\mathcal{P} {\setminus}\partial \mathcal{P})\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\). By this characterization, we show that for any \({d \geq 1}\) and for any \({k,\ell \geq 0}\) with \({k+\ell \leq d-1}\), there exist integral convex polytopes \({\mathcal{P}}\) and \({\mathcal{Q}}\) of dimension d such that (i) For \({t=1,\ldots,k}\), we have \({i(\mathcal{P},t)=i(\mathcal{Q},t),}\) (ii) For \({t=1,\ldots,\ell}\), we have \({i^*(\mathcal{P},t)=i^*(\mathcal{Q},t)}\), and (iii) \({i(\mathcal{P},k+1) \neq i(\mathcal{Q},k+1)}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},\ell+1)\neq i^*(\mathcal{Q},\ell+1)}\).  相似文献

In this paper, the authors prove a general Schwarz lemma at the boundary for the holomorphic mapping f between unit balls B and B′in separable complex Hilbert spaces H and H′, respectively. It is found that if the mapping f ∈ C~(1+α)at z_0∈ ?B with f(z_0) = w_0∈ ?B′, then the Fr′echet derivative operator Df(z_0) maps the tangent space Tz_0(?B~n) to Tw_0(?B′), the holomorphic tangent space T_(z_0)~(1,0)(?B~n) to T_(w_0)~(1,0)(?B′),respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for the following second-order p(t)-Laplacian–Hamiltonian systems
$$\frac{{\rm d}}{{\rm d}t}(|\dot{u}(t)|^{p(t)-2}\dot{u}(t))-a(t)|u(t)|^{p(t)-2}u(t)+\nabla W(t,u(t))=0,$$
where \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\), \({u \in \mathbb{R}^n}\), \({p \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\) with p(t) > 1, \({a \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\), \({W\in C^1(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{R})}\) and \({\nabla W(t,u)}\) is the gradient of W(t, u) in u. The point is that, assuming that a(t) is bounded in the sense that there are constants \({0<\tau_1<\tau_2<\infty}\) such that \({\tau_1\leq a(t)\leq \tau_2 }\) for all \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\) and W(t, u) is of super-p(t) growth or sub-p(t) growth as \({|u|\rightarrow \infty}\), we provide two new criteria to ensure the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions, respectively. Recent results in the literature are extended and significantly improved.

Let \({\mathscr {N}}\) be a 2-step nilpotent Lie algebra endowed with a non-degenerate scalar product \(\langle .\,,.\rangle \), and let \({\mathscr {N}}=V\oplus _{\perp }Z\), where Z is the centre of the Lie algebra and V its orthogonal complement. We study classification of the Lie algebras for which the space V arises as a representation space of the Clifford algebra \({{\mathrm{{\mathrm{Cl}}}}}({\mathbb {R}}^{r,s})\), and the representation map \(J:{{\mathrm{{\mathrm{Cl}}}}}({\mathbb {R}}^{r,s})\rightarrow {{\mathrm{End}}}(V)\) is related to the Lie algebra structure by \(\langle J_zv,w\rangle =\langle z,[v,w]\rangle \) for all \(z\in {\mathbb {R}}^{r,s}\) and \(v,w\in V\). The classification depends on parameters r and s and is completed for the Clifford modules V having minimal possible dimension, that are not necessary irreducible. We find necessary conditions for the existence of a Lie algebra isomorphism according to the range of the integer parameters \(0\le r,s<\infty \). We present a constructive proof for the isomorphism maps for isomorphic Lie algebras and determine the class of non-isomorphic Lie algebras.  相似文献

Let \({L_{w}}{:=-w^{-1}{\rm div}(A\nabla)}\) be the degenerate elliptic operator on the Euclidean space \({{\mathbb{R}^{n}}}\), where w is a Muckenhoupt \({A_{2}({\mathbb{R}^{n}})}\) weight. In this article, the authors establish the Riesz transform characterization of the Hardy space \({H^{p}_{L_{w}}({\mathbb{R}}^{n})}\) associated with Lw, for \({w \in A_{q}({\mathbb{R}}^{n}) \cap RH_{\frac{n}{n-2}}({\mathbb{R}^{n}})}\) with \({n \geq 3}\), \({q \in [1,2]}\) and \({p \in (q(\frac{1}{r}+\frac{q-1}{2}+\frac{1}{n})^{-1},1]}\) if, for some \({r \in (1,\,2]}\), \({{\{tL_w e^{-tL_w}\}}_{t\geq 0}}\) satisfies the weighted \({L^{r}-L^{2}}\) full off-diagonal estimates.  相似文献

We prove that every smooth complete intersection \(X=X_{d_{1}, \ldots , d_{s}}\subset \mathbb {P}^{\sum _{i=1}^{s}d_{i}}\) defined by s hypersurfaces of degree \(d_{1}, \ldots , d_{s}\) is birationally superrigid if \(5s +1\le \frac{2(\sum _{i=1}^{s}d_{i}+1)}{\sqrt{\prod _{i=1}^{s}d_{i}}}\). In particular, X is non-rational and \({{\mathrm{Bir}}}(X)={{\mathrm{Aut}}}(X)\). We also prove birational superrigidity of singular complete intersections with similar numerical condition. These extend the results proved by Tommaso de Fernex.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to estimate sums involving P(n), the largest prime factor of an integer \({n \geqq 2}\) under digital constraints \({{f(P(n)) \equiv a}{\rm mod} b}\), for every \({a \in \mathbb{Z}}\) and an integer \({b \geqq 2}\) where f is a strongly q-additive function with integer values (i.e. \({f(aq^j + b) = f(a) + f(b)}\), with \({(a, b, j) \in \mathbb{N}^3}\), \({{0 \leqq b} < q^j}\)). We also estimate the cardinality of the set \({\{{n \leqq x, f(P(n) + c)} \equiv {a {\rm mod} b}, P(n) \equiv l {\rm mod} k\}}\), where \({c \in \mathbb{Z}}\), \({k \geqq 2}\).  相似文献

Let \({L(n)}\) be the language of group theory with n additional new constant symbols \({c_1,\ldots,c_n}\). In \({L(n)}\) we consider the class \({{\mathbb{K}}(n)}\) of all finite groups G of exponent \({p > 2}\), where \({G'\subseteq\langle c_1^G,\ldots,c_n^G\rangle \subseteq Z(G)}\) and \({c_1^G,\ldots,c_n^G}\) are linearly independent. Using amalgamation we show the existence of Fraïssé limits \({D(n)}\) of \({{\mathbb{K}}(n)}\). \({D(1)}\) is Felgner’s extra special p-group. The elementary theories of the \({D(n)}\) are supersimple of SU-rank 1. They have the independence property.  相似文献

Let A :=(A_1, A_2) be a pair of expansive dilations and φ : R~n×R~m×[0, ∞) → [0, ∞) an anisotropic product Musielak-Orlicz function. In this article, we introduce the anisotropic product Musielak-Orlicz Hardy space H~φ_A(R~n× R~m) via the anisotropic Lusin-area function and establish its atomic characterization, the g-function characterization, the g_λ~*-function characterization and the discrete wavelet characterization via first giving out an anisotropic product Peetre inequality of Musielak-Orlicz type. Moreover, we prove that finite atomic decomposition norm on a dense subspace of H~φ_A(R~n× R~m) is equivalent to the standard infinite atomic decomposition norm. As an application, we show that, for a given admissible triplet(φ, q, s), if T is a sublinear operator and maps all(φ, q, s)-atoms into uniformly bounded elements of some quasi-Banach spaces B, then T uniquely extends to a bounded sublinear operator from H~φ_A(R~n× R~m) to B. Another application is that we obtain the boundedness of anisotropic product singular integral operators from H~φ_A(R~n× R~m) to L~φ(R~n× R~m)and from H~φ_A(R~n×R~m) to itself, whose kernels are adapted to the action of A. The results of this article essentially extend the existing results for weighted product Hardy spaces on R~n× R~m and are new even for classical product Orlicz-Hardy spaces.  相似文献

Given a C 2 semi-algebraic mapping \({F} : {\mathbb{R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^p}\), we consider its restriction to \({W \hookrightarrow \mathbb{R^{N}}}\) an embedded closed semi-algebraic manifold of dimension \({n-1 \geq p \geq 2}\) and introduce sufficient conditions for the existence of a fibration structure (generalized open book structure) induced by the projection \({\frac{F}{\Vert F \Vert}:W{\setminus} F^{-1}(0) \to S^{p-1}}\). Moreover, we show that the well known local and global Milnor fibrations, in the real and complex settings, follow as a byproduct by considering W as spheres of small and big radii, respectively. Furthermore, we consider the composition mapping of F with the canonical projection \({\pi: \mathbb{R}^{p} \to \mathbb{R}^{p-1}}\) and prove that the fibers of \({\frac{F}{\Vert F \Vert}}\) and \({\frac{\pi \circ F}{\Vert \pi \circ F \Vert}}\) are homotopy equivalent. We also show several formulae relating the Euler characteristics of the fiber of the projection \({\frac{F}{\Vert F \Vert}}\) and \({W \cap F^{-1}(0)}\). Similar formulae are proved for mappings obtained after composition of F with canonical projections.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Schrödinger operator ?Δ + V on \({\mathbb R^d}\), where the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Hölder class \({B_{q_{_1}}}\) for some \({q_{_1}\geq \frac{d}{2}}\) with d ≥ 3. Let \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) denote the Hardy space related to the Schrödinger operator L = ?Δ + V and \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) be the dual space of \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\). We show that the Schrödinger type operator \({\nabla(-\Delta +V)^{-\beta}}\) is bounded from \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{d-(2\beta-1)}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta<\frac{3}{2} }\) and that it is also bounded from \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{2\beta-1}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta< 2}\).  相似文献
