Intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, each of which is characterized by the degree of membership and the degree of non-membership of an element, are a very useful means to depict the decision information in the process of decision making. In this article, we investigate the group decision making problems in which all the information provided by the decision makers is expressed as intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices where each of the elements is characterized by intuitionistic fuzzy number, and the information about attribute weights is partially known, which may be constructed by various forms. We first use the intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid geometric (IFHG) operator to aggregate all individual intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices provided by the decision makers into the collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix, then we utilize the score function to calculate the score of each attribute value and construct the score matrix of the collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix. Based on the score matrix and the given attribute weight information, we establish some optimization models to determine the weights of attributes. Furthermore, we utilize the obtained attribute weights and the intuitionistic fuzzy weighted geometric (IFWG) operator to fuse the intuitionistic fuzzy information in the collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix to get the overall intuitionistic fuzzy values of alternatives by which the ranking of all the given alternatives can be found. Finally, we give an illustrative example.  相似文献

Traditionally, decision makers were forced to converge ambiguous judgments to a single point estimate in order to describe a pairwise relationship between alternatives relative to some criterion for use in the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Since many circumstances exist which make such a convergence difficult, confidence in the outcome of an ensuing AHP synthesis may be reduced. Likewise, when a group of decision makers cannot arrive at a consensus regarding a judgment, some members of the group may simply lose confidence in the overall synthesis if they lack faith in some of the judgments. The AHP utilizes point estimates in order to derive the relative weights of criteria, sub-criteria, and alternatives which govern a decision problem. However, when point estimates are difficult to determine, distributions describing feasible judgments may be more appropriate. Using simulation, we will demonstrate that levels of confidence can be developed, expected weights can be calculated and expected ranks can be determined. It will also be shown that the simulation approach is far more revealing than traditional sensitivity analysis.  相似文献

This paper tries to contribute to the well-known and lengthy discussion on whether we should allow decision makers to be inconsistent, or, to put it in another way, if intransitive decisions better represent their preferences. We will focus specifically on the multiple-criteria decision making problem, since it is one of the most usual stances where this intransitivity appears. Results from an experiment carried out with graduate students shows that, when intransitivities are removed, the preferences of decision makers are not better represented, and therefore that the effort to do so may not be justified.  相似文献

Multilevel programming is developed to solve the decentralized problem in which decision makers (DMs) are often arranged within a hierarchical administrative structure. The linear bilevel programming (BLP) problem, i.e., a special case of multilevel programming problems with a two level structure, is a set of nested linear optimization problems over polyhedral set of constraints. Two DMs are located at the different hierarchical levels, both controlling one set of decision variables independently, with different and perhaps conflicting objective functions. One of the interesting features of the linear BLP problem is that its solution may not be Paretooptimal. There may exist a feasible solution where one or both levels may increase their objective values without decreasing the objective value of any level. The result from such a system may be economically inadmissible. If the decision makers of the two levels are willing to find an efficient compromise solution, we propose a solution procedure which can generate effcient solutions, without finding the optimal solution in advance. When the near-optimal solution of the BLP problem is used as the reference point for finding the efficient solution, the result can be easily found during the decision process.  相似文献

Within the frame of decision aid literature, group decision making has drawn the attention of researchers from a wide spectrum of disciplines. Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS) can play a critical role, in decision situations with multiple individuals, each having his/her own private point of view on the handling of the decision problem. In such an environment, the conflict between the members of the group is not a seldom situation. Multiple criteria decision aid (MCDA) methods can be proven as invaluable tools in handling such interpersonal conflicts where the aim is to achieve consensus between the group members or at least reduce the amount of conflict among participating individuals. This paper reviews some of the past approaches in the multiple criteria–multiple decision makers context.  相似文献

The multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem with intuitionistic fuzzy information investigated in this paper is very useful for solving complicated decision problems under uncertain circumstances. Since experts have their own characteristics, they are familiar with some of the attributes, but not others, the weights of the decision makers to different attributes should be different. We derive the weights of the decision makers by aggregating the individual intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices into a collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix. The expert has a big weight if his evaluation value is close to the mean value and has a small weight if his evaluation value is far from the mean value. For the incomplete attribute weight information, we establish some optimization models to determine the attribute weights. Furthermore, we develop several algorithms for ranking alternatives under different situations, and then extend the developed models and algorithms to the MAGDM problem with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information. Numerical results finally illustrate the practicality and efficiency of our new algorithms.  相似文献

Many financial optimization problems involve future values of security prices, interest rates and exchange rates which are not known in advance, but can only be forecast or estimated. Several methodologies have therefore been proposed to handle the uncertainty in financial optimization problems. One such methodology is Robust Statistics, which addresses the problem of making estimates of the uncertain parameters that are insensitive to small variations. A different way to achieve robustness is provided by Robust Optimization, which looks for solutions that will achieve good objective function values for the realization of the uncertain parameters in given uncertainty sets. Robust Optimization thus offers a vehicle to incorporate an estimation of uncertain parameters into the decision making process. This is true, for example, in portfolio asset allocation. Starting with the robust counterparts of the classical mean-variance and minimum-variance portfolio optimization problems, in this paper we review several mathematical models, and related algorithmic approaches, that have recently been proposed to address uncertainty in portfolio asset allocation, focusing on Robust Optimization methodology. We also give an overview of some of the computational results that have been obtained with the described approaches. In addition we analyze the relationship between the concepts of robustness and convex risk measures.  相似文献

A zero-one integer linear programming model is proposed for selecting and scheduling an optimal project portfolio, based on the organisation's objectives and constraints such as resource limitations and interdependence among projects. The model handles some of the issues that frequently arise in real world applications but are not addressed by previously suggested models, such as situations in which the amount of available and consumed resources varies in different periods. It also allows for interactive adjustment following the optimisation process, to provide decision makers a method for controlling portfolio selection, based on criteria that may be difficult to elicit directly. It is critical for such a system to provide fast evaluation of alternatives the decision makers may want to examine, and this requirement is addressed. The proposed model not only suggests projects that should be incorporated in the optimal portfolio, but it also determines the starting period for each project. Scheduling considerations can have a major impact on the combination of projects that can be incorporated in the portfolio, and may allow the addition of certain projects to the portfolio that could not have been selected otherwise. An example problem is described and solved with the proposed model, and some areas for future research are discussed.  相似文献

An interesting problem in group decision analysis is how many different agreements can occur, or conversely disagreements may exist, between two or more different rankings of a set of alternatives. In this paper it is assumed that a reference ranking has been established for the set of alternatives. This reference ranking may represent the ranking of a high authority decision maker or be just a virtual ranking to be used in determining the discrepancy between pairs of rankings. Then, the problem examined here is to evaluate the number of possible rankings when the ranking method is the number of agreements with some reference ranking. The analysis presented here illustrates that this problem is not trivial and moreover, its simple context conceals complexity in its depth. The purpose of this paper is to provide an evaluation of the number of possible agreements in rankings given to a set of concepts, alternatives or ideas, by two or more decision makers. The number of possible agreements takes on the values 0, 1, 2,…, n − 2, or n when n concepts are compared. This paper develops a recursive closed form formula for calculating the frequencies for the various numbers of agreements.  相似文献

Facility location decisions are a critical element in strategic planning for a wide range of private and public firms. The ramifications of siting facilities are broadly based and long-lasting, impacting numerous operational and logistical decisions. High costs associated with property acquisition and facility construction make facility location or relocation projects long-term investments. To make such undertakings profitable, firms plan for new facilities to remain in place and in operation for an extended time period. Thus, decision makers must select sites that will not simply perform well according to the current system state, but that will continue to be profitable for the facility's lifetime, even as environmental factors change, populations shift, and market trends evolve. Finding robust facility locations is thus a difficult task, demanding that decision makers account for uncertain future events. The complexity of this problem has limited much of the facility location literature to simplified static and deterministic models. Although a few researchers initiated the study of stochastic and dynamic aspects of facility location many years ago, most of the research dedicated to these issues has been published in recent years. In this review, we report on literature which explicitly addresses the strategic nature of facility location problems by considering either stochastic or dynamic problem characteristics. Dynamic formulations focus on the difficult timing issues involved in locating a facility (or facilities) over an extended horizon. Stochastic formulations attempt to capture the uncertainty in problem input parameters such as forecast demand or distance values. The stochastic literature is divided into two classes: that which explicitly considers the probability distribution of uncertain parameters, and that which captures uncertainty through scenario planning. A wide range of model formulations and solution approaches are discussed, with applications ranging across numerous industries.  相似文献

Supplier evaluation and selection problem has been studied extensively. Various decision making approaches have been proposed to tackle the problem. In contemporary supply chain management, the performance of potential suppliers is evaluated against multiple criteria rather than considering a single factor-cost. This paper reviews the literature of the multi-criteria decision making approaches for supplier evaluation and selection. Related articles appearing in the international journals from 2000 to 2008 are gathered and analyzed so that the following three questions can be answered: (i) Which approaches were prevalently applied? (ii) Which evaluating criteria were paid more attention to? (iii) Is there any inadequacy of the approaches? Based on the inadequacy, if any, some improvements and possible future work are recommended. This research not only provides evidence that the multi-criteria decision making approaches are better than the traditional cost-based approach, but also aids the researchers and decision makers in applying the approaches effectively.  相似文献

This paper presents a decentralized method for computing Pareto-optimal solutions in multiparty negotiations over continuous issues. The method is based on the well known weighting method which is decomposed by introducing an own decision variable for each decision maker and by applying the dual decomposition method to the resulting problem. The method offers a systematic way for generating some or all Pareto-optimal solutions so that decision makers do not have to know each others' value functions. Under the assumption of quasilinear value function the requirement that a decision maker knows the explicit form for his value function can be relaxed. In that case the decision maker is asked to solve a series of multiobjective programming problems where an additional artificial decision variable is introduced.  相似文献

Traditional literature studying overbooking problems focuses on risk-neutral decision makers. In this paper, we propose a multi-period overbooking model incorporating risk-aversion and extend well-known structural results (the 3-region policy) under the risk-neutral case to the risk-averse one on the basis of an exponential utility function. We also show that the optimal policy for the risk-neutral decision maker can be obtained by letting the risk-aversion parameter approach to zero under the risk-averse case. Therefore, the extant results under the risk-neutral case can be interpreted as a special case of ours. We also investigate how the optimal policy changes with some cost parameters and the decision maker's degree of risk-aversion. Numerical results suggest that the optimal bounds in the 3-region policy may increase or decrease with the decision maker's degree of risk-aversion.  相似文献

Decision makers usually have to face a budget and other type of constraints when they have to decide which projects are going to be undertaken (to satisfy their requirements and guarantee profitable growth). Our purpose is to assist them in the task of selecting project portfolios. We have approached this problem by proposing a general nonlinear binary multi-objective mathematical model, which takes into account all the most important factors mentioned in the literature related with Project Portfolio Selection and Scheduling. Due to the existence of uncertainty in different aspects involved in the aforementioned decision task, we have also incorporated into the model some fuzzy parameters, which allow us to represent information not fully known by the decision maker/s. The resulting problem is both fuzzy and multiobjective. The results are complemented with graphical tools, which show the usefulness of the proposed model to assist the decision maker/s.  相似文献

Practical implementation of Multiattribute Utility Theory is limited, partly for the lack of operative methods to elicit the parameters of the Multiattribute Utility Function, particularly when this function is not linear. As a consequence, most studies are restricted to linear specifications, which are easier to estimate and to interpret. We propose an indirect method to elicit the parameters of a non-linear utility function to be compatible with the observed behaviour of decision makers, rather than with their answers to direct surveys. The idea rests on approaching the parameter estimation problem as a dual of the decision problem by making the observed decisions to be compatible with a rational decision making process.  相似文献
