This paper is concerned with positive steady-state solutions of a class of cross-diffusion systems which arise in the study of the predator–prey systems with prey-taxis. Under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, we use the theory of fixed point index in positive cones to establish the existence of positive steady-state solutions. By analyzing two related eigenvalues, we further obtain the coexistence region with respect to the growth rates of two species and characterize the differences of coexistence region if different predator–prey interactions are adopted. Additionally, we investigate the limiting behavior of positive steady-state solutions as some parameter tends to infinity. Our results not only generalize the previously known one, but also present some new conclusions.  相似文献

We study initial–boundary value problems for strongly damped nonlinear wave equations. By using improved integral estimates, it is proven that the solutions of the problems decay to zero exponentially as time tt approaches infinity, under a very simple and general assumption regarding the nonlinear term.  相似文献

We consider a system of reaction–diffusion equations describing the reversible reaction of two species \({\mathcal{U}}\), \({\mathcal{V}}\) forming a third species \({\mathcal{W}}\) and vice versa according to mass action law kinetics with arbitrary stoichiometric coefficients (equal or larger than one). Firstly, we prove existence of global classical solutions via improved duality estimates under the assumption that one of the diffusion coefficients of \({\mathcal{U}}\) or \({\mathcal{V}}\) is sufficiently close to the diffusion coefficient of \({\mathcal{W}}\). Secondly, we derive an entropy entropy-dissipation estimate, that is a functional inequality, which applied to global solutions of these reaction–diffusion systems proves exponential convergence to equilibrium with explicit rates and constants.  相似文献

In this paper we develop a general critical point theory to deal with existence and locations of multiple critical points produced by minimax methods in relation to multiple invariant sets of the associated gradient flow. The motivation is to study non-trivial nodal solutions with each component sign-changing for a class of nonlinear Schrödinger systems which arise from Bose–Einstein condensates theory. An analytical approach is developed for areas of nonlinear science such as the nonlinear free vibration of a conservative, two-degree-of-freedom mass–spring system having linear and nonlinear stiffnesses. The main contribution of this research is twofold. First, it introduces the transformation of two nonlinear differential equations for a two-mass system using suitable intermediate variables into a single nonlinear differential equation and, more significantly, the treatment of a nonlinear differential system by linearization coupled with Newton’s method. Secondly, the major section is the solving of the governing nonlinear differential equation where the displacement of the two-mass system can be obtained directly from the linear second-order differential equation using a first-order variational approach. The aforementioned approach proposed by J.H. He, who actually developed the method, is exactly He’s variational method. This approach is an explicit method with high validity for resolving strong nonlinear oscillation system problems. Two examples of nonlinear two-degree-of-freedom mass–spring systems are analyzed, and verified with published results and exact solutions. The method can be easily extended to other nonlinear oscillations and so could be widely applicable in engineering and science.  相似文献
