The blowup phenomena of solutions of the compressible Euler equations is investigated. The approach is to construct the special solutions and use phase plane analysis. In particular, the special explicit solutions with velocity of the form c(t)x are constructed to show the blowup and expanding properties.  相似文献

The blowup phenomena of solutions is investigated for the Euler equations of compressible fluid flow. The approach is to construct special explicit solutions with spherical symmetry to study certain blowup behavior of multi-dimensional solutions. In particular, the special solutions with velocity of the form c(t)x are constructed to show the expanding and blowup properties. The solution with velocity of the form for γ?1 and for any space dimensions is obtained as a corollary. Another conclusion is that there is only trivial solution with velocity of the form c(t)|x|α-1x for α≠1 and multi-space dimensions.  相似文献

We consider a Leray-type regularization of the compressible Euler equations for an isothermal gas. The regularized system depends on a small parameter α>0. Using Riemann invariants, we prove the existence of smooth solutions for the regularized system for every α>0. The regularization mechanism is a non-linear bending of characteristics that prevents their finite-time crossing. We prove that, in the α→0 limit, the regularized solutions converge strongly. However, based on our analysis and numerical simulations, the limit is not the unique entropy solution of the Euler equations. The numerical method used to support this claim is derived from the Riemann invariants for the regularized system. This method is guaranteed to preserve the monotonicity of characteristics.  相似文献

The author studies the 2D isentropic Euler equations with the ideal gas law. He exhibits a set of smooth initial data that give rise to shock formation at a single point near the planar symmetry. These solutions to the 2D isentropic Euler equations are associated with non-zero vorticity at the shock and have uniform-in-time 1 3-H¨older bound. Moreover, these point shocks are of self-similar type and share the same profile, which is a solution to the 2D self-similar Burgers equation. The proof of the solutions, following the 3D construction of Buckmaster, Shkoller and Vicol (in 2023), is based on the stable 2D self-similar Burgers profile and the modulation method.  相似文献

This note presents a short and elementary justification of the classical zero Mach number limit for isentropic compressible Euler equations with prepared initial data. We also show the existence of smooth compressible flows, with the Mach number sufficiently small, on the (finite) time interval where the incompressible Euler equations have smooth solutions.

The global-in-time existence of weak solutions to the barotropic compressible quantum Navier-Stokes equations has been proved very recently, by Jüngel (2009) [1], if the viscosity constant is smaller than the scaled Plank constant. This paper extends the results to the case that the viscosity constant equals the scaled Plank constant. By using a new estimate on the square root of the solution, apparently not available in [1], the semiclassical limit for the viscous quantum Euler equations (which are equivalent to the barotropic compressible quantum Navier-Stokes equations) can be performed; then the results of this paper are obtained easily.  相似文献

We prove that some inflow-outflow problems for the Euler equations in a (nonsmooth) bounded cylinder admit a regular solution. The problems considered are symmetric hyperbolic systems with partly characteristic and partly noncharacteristic boundary; for such problems, no general theory is available. Therefore, we introduce particular spaces of functions satisfying suitable additional boundary conditions which allow to determine a regular solution by means of a "reflection technique'. We prove the uniqueness of Riemann solutions in the class of entropy solutions in for the system of compressible Euler equations, under usual assumptions on the equation of state for the pressure which imply strict hyperbolicity of the system and genuine nonlinearity of the first and third characteristic families. In particular, if the Riemann solutions consist of at most rarefaction waves and contact discontinuities, we show the global -stability of the Riemann solutions even in the class of entropy solutions in with arbitrarily large oscillation for the system. We apply our framework established earlier to show that the uniqueness of Riemann solutions implies their inviscid asymptotic stability under perturbation of the Riemann initial data, as long as the corresponding solutions are in and have local bounded total variation satisfying a natural condition on its growth with time. No specific reference to any particular method for constructing the entropy solutions is made. Our uniqueness result for Riemann solutions can easily be extended to entropy solutions , piecewise Lipschitz in , for any 0$">.

The 3D compressible Euler equations with damping in a bounded domain   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We proved global existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the initial boundary value problem for the 3D damped compressible Euler equations on bounded domain with slip boundary condition when the initial data is near its equilibrium. Time asymptotically, the density is conjectured to satisfy the porous medium equation and the momentum obeys to the classical Darcy's law. Based on energy estimate, we showed that the classical solution converges to steady state exponentially fast in time. We also proved that the same is true for the related initial boundary value problem of porous medium equation and thus justified the validity of Darcy's law in large time.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple justification of the classical low Mach number limit in critical Besov spaces for compressible Euler equations with prepared initial data. As the first step of this justification, we formulate a continuation principle for general hyperbolic singular limit problems in the framework of critical Besov spaces. With this principle, it is also shown that, for the Mach number sufficiently small, the smooth compressible flows exist on the (finite) time interval where the incompressible Euler equations have smooth solutions, and the definite convergence orders are obtained. The paper is devoted to the controllability problem for 3D compressible Euler system. The control is a finite-dimensional external force acting only on the velocity equation. We show that the velocity and density of the fluid are simultaneously controllable. In particular, the system is approximately controllable and exactly controllable in projections.  相似文献

We consider 1-D piston problem for the compressible Euler equations when the piston is static relatively to the gas in the tube. By a modified wave front tracking method, we prove that a contact discontinuity is structurally stable under the assumptions that the total variation of the initial data and the perturbation of the piston velocity are both sufficiently small. Meanwhile, we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions by the generalized characteristic method and approximate conservation law theory as t+.  相似文献

We prove existence of solutions to the two-dimensional Euler equations with vorticity bounded and with velocity locally bounded but growing at infinity at a rate slower than a power of the logarithmic function. We place no integrability conditions on the initial vorticity. This result improves upon a result of Serfati which gives existence of a solution to the two-dimensional Euler equations with bounded velocity and vorticity.  相似文献

We study the rate of growth of sharp fronts of the Quasi-geostrophic equation and 2D incompressible Euler equations. The development of sharp fronts are due to a mechanism that piles up level sets very fast. Under a semi-uniform collapse, we obtain a lower bound on the minimum distance between the level sets.

In this paper, we study the zero dissipation limit problem for the one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations. We prove that if the solution of the inviscid Euler equations is piecewise constants with a contact discontinuity, then there exist smooth solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations which converge to the inviscid solution away from the contact discontinuity at a rate of as the heat-conductivity coefficient κ tends to zero, provided that the viscosity μ is of higher order than the heat-conductivity κ. Without loss of generality, we set μ≡0. Here we have no need to restrict the strength of the contact discontinuity to be small.  相似文献
