We investigate reaction–diffusion equation with spatio-temporal delays, the global existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of solutions for which in relation to constant steady-state solution, included in the region of attraction of a stable steady solution. It is shown that if the delay reaction function satisfies some conditions and the system possesses a pair of upper and lower solutions then there exists a unique global solution. In terms of the maximal and minimal constant solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem, we get the asymptotic stability of reaction–diffusion equation with spatio-temporal delay. Applying this theory to Lotka–Volterra model with spatio-temporal delay, we get the global solution asymptotically tend to the steady-state problem’s steady-state solution.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a Lotka–Volterra competition system with spatio-temporal delays. By using the linearization method, we show the local asymptotic behavior of the nonnegative steady-state solutions. Especially, the global asymptotic stability of the positive steady-state solution is investigated by the method of upper and lower solutions. The result of global asymptotic stability implies that the system has no nonconstant positive steady-state solution.  相似文献

The dynamics of some algal allelopathic competitions taking place in a laboratory chemostat-like environment are analyzed. Our main results concern the global asymptotic stability of some biologically meaningful steady-state solutions and have been obtained by means of limiting systems theory and construction of suitable Liapunov functions. In particular one of these results completely explains the outcome of several experiments recently performed and illustrated in Fergola et al. (Ecol Model 208:205–214, 2007) on the competition between C. vulgaris and P. subcapitata. Numerical simulations confirm the analytical results and show that saddle-node bifurcation phenomena can appear.  相似文献

In the mutualism system with three species if the effects of dispersion and time delays are both taken into consideration, then the densities of the cooperating species are governed by a coupled system of reaction–diffusion equations with time delays. The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of the time-dependent solution in relation to a positive uniform solution of the corresponding steady-state problem in a bounded domain with Neumann boundary condition, including the existence and uniqueness of a positive steady-state solution. A simple and easily verifiable condition is given to ensure the global asymptotic stability of the positive steady-state solution. This result leads to the permanence of the mutualism system, the instability of the trivial and all forms of semitrivial solutions, and the nonexistence of nonuniform steady-state solution. The condition for the global asymptotic stability is independent of diffusion and time-delays as well as the net birth rate of species, and the conclusions for the reaction–diffusion system are directly applicable to the corresponding ordinary differential system and 2-species cooperating reaction–diffusion systems. Our approach to the problem is based on inequality skill and the method of upper and lower solutions for a more general reaction–diffusion system. Finally, the numerical simulation is given to illustrate our results.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a time-delayed Lotka–Volterra competition reaction–diffusion system with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. Some explicit and easily verifiable conditions are obtained for the global asymptotic stability of all forms of nonnegative semitrivial constant steady-state solutions. These conditions involve only the competing rate constants and are independent of the diffusion–convection and time delays. The result of global asymptotic stability implies the nonexistence of positive steady-state solutions, and gives some extinction results of the competing species in the ecological sense. The instability of the trivial steady-state solution is also shown.  相似文献

So far a necessary and sufficient condition for the global asymptotic stability of linear mixed monotone delayed differential equation with time varying delay has been presented. However, several basic tools utilized for that proof are not restricted to linear functions. Here it is proved that similar results are obtained for the global asymptotic properties of nonlinear delay differential equation with analogous properties.  相似文献

A class of scalar nonlinear difference equations with delay is considered. Sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of a unique equilibrium are given. Applications in economics and other fields lead to consideration of associated optimal control problems. An optimal control problem of maximizing a consumption functional is stated. The existence of optimal solutions is established and their stability (the turnpike property) is proved.  相似文献

In this paper, a mathematical model for tumor growth with time delay in proliferation under indirect effect of inhibitor is studied. The delay represents the time taken for cells to undergo mitosis. Nonnegativity of solutions is investigated. The steady-state analysis is presented with respect to the magnitude of the delay. Existence of Hopf bifurcation is proved for some parameter values. Local and global stability of the stationary solutions are proved for other ones. The analysis of the effect of inhibitor's parameters on tumor's growth is presented. The results show that dynamical behavior of solutions of this model is similar to that of solutions for corresponding non-retarded problems for some parameter values.  相似文献

Some coupled reaction-diffusion systems arising from chemical diffusion processes and combustion theory are analyzed. This analysis includes the existence and uniqueness of positive time-dependent solutions, upper and lower bounds of the solution, asymptotic behavior and invariant sets, and the stability of steady-state solutions, including an estimate of the stability region. Explicit conditions for the asymptotic behavior and the stability of a steady-state solution are given. These conditions establish some interrelationship among the physical parameters of the diffusion medium, the reaction mechanism, the initial function and the type of boundary condition. Under the same set of physical parameters and reaction function, a comparison between the Neumann type and Dirichlet or third type boundary condition exhibits quite different asymptotic behavior of the solution. For the general nonhomogeneous system, multiple steady-state solutions may exist and only local stability results are obtained. However, for certain models it is possible to obtain global stability of a steady-state solution by either increasing the diffusion coefficients or decreasing the size of the diffusion medium. This fact is demonstrated by a one-dimensional tubular reactor model commonly discussed in the literature.  相似文献

Asymptotic Stability of Runge-Kutta Methods for the Pantograph Equations   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
This paper considers the asymptotic stability analysis of both exact and numerical solutions of the following neutral delay differential equation with pantograph delay.where $B,C,D\in C^{d\times d},q\in (0,1)$,and $B$ is regular. After transforming the above equation to non-automatic neutral equation with constant delay, we determine sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the zero solution. Furthermore, we focus on the asymptotic stability behavior of Runge-Kutta method with variable stepsize. It is proved that a L-stable Runge-Kutta method can preserve the above-mentioned stability properties.  相似文献

A diffusive Lotka-Volterra type model with nonlocal delays for two competitive species is considered. The existence of a traveling wavefront analogous to a bistable wavefront for a single species is proved by transforming the system with nonlocal delays to a four-dimensional system without delay. Furthermore, in order to prove the asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts of the system, the existence, regularity and comparison theorem of solutions of the corresponding Cauchy problem are first established for the systems on R by appealing to the theory of abstract functional differential equations. The asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts are then proved by spectral methods. In particular, we also prove that the spreading speed is unique by upper and lower solutions technique. From the point of view of ecology, our results indicate that the nonlocal delays appeared in the interaction terms are not sensitive to the invasion of species of spatial isolation.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with asymptotic stability of a system of reaction-diffusion equations which is expressed in terms of Volterra integrals, under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The effect of diffusion and delays on the stability of the system are analyzed, and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of positive solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem. Their global attraction with respect to nonnegative solutions of the time-dependent system is discussed. The main tools are Lyapunov functionals, positive definite kernels, and Laplace transforms.  相似文献

In this paper we study the Degn–Harrison system with a generalized reaction term. Once proved the global existence and boundedness of a unique solution, we address the asymptotic behavior of the system. The conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the steady state solution are derived using the appropriate techniques based on the eigen-analysis, the Poincaré–Bendixson theorem and the direct Lyapunov method. Numerical simulations are also shown to corroborate the asymptotic stability predictions. Moreover, we determine the constraints on the size of the reactor and the diffusion coefficient such that the system does not admit non-constant positive steady state solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with three 3-species time-delayed Lotka-Volterra reaction-diffusion systems and their corresponding ordinary differential systems without diffusion. The time delays may be discrete or continuous, and the boundary conditions for the reaction-diffusion systems are of Neumann type. The goal of the paper is to obtain some simple and easily verifiable conditions for the existence and global asymptotic stability of a positive steady-state solution for each of the three model problems. These conditions involve only the reaction rate constants and are independent of the diffusion effect and time delays. The result of global asymptotic stability implies that each of the three model systems coexists, is permanent, and the trivial and all semitrivial solutions are unstable. Our approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions for a more general reaction-diffusion system which gives a common framework for the 3-species model problems. Some global stability results for the 2-species competition and prey-predator reaction-diffusion systems are included in the discussion.  相似文献

In this article the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a predator—prey system is investigated. The model incorporates time delay due to gestation and assumes that the prey disperses between two patches of a heterogeneous environment with barriers between patches and that the predator disperses between the patches with no barrier. Conditions are derived for the global asymptotic stability of a positive equilibrium.  相似文献
