There are spin-orbit interaction and spin-spin interaction in a generic post-Newtonian Lagrangian formu-lation of comparable mass spinning compact binaries. The spin-orbit coupling or the spin-spin coupling plays a quite important role in changing the evolution of the system and may sometime cause chaotic behavior. How do the two types of couplings exert together any influences on chaos in this formulation? To answer it, we simply take the Lagrangian formulation of a special binary system, including the Newtonian term and the leading-order spin-orbit and spin-spin couplings. The key to this question can be found from a Hamiltonian formulation that is completely identical to the Lagrangian formulation. If the Lagrangian does not include the spin-spin coupling, its equivalent Hamiltonian has an additional term (i.e. the next-order spin-spin coupling) as well as those terms of the Lagrangian. The spin-spin coupling rather than the spin-orbit coupling makes the Hamiltonian typically nonintegrable and probably chaotic when two objects spin. When the leading-order spin-spin coupling is also added to the Lagrangian, it still appears in the Hamiltonian. In this sense, the total Hamiltonian contains the leading-order spin-spin coupling and the next-order spin-spin coupling, which have different signs. Therefore, the chaos resulting from the spin-spin interaction in the Legrangian formulations is somewhat weakened by the spin-orbit coupling.  相似文献

Axions are pseudo-scalar particles, those which arise because of breaking of Peccei Queen (PQ) symmetry. Axions have a tree level coupling to two photons. As a consequence there exists a tree level coupling of axion to photon in a magnetic field. However, in an external magnetic field, there exists a new loop induced, axion photon vertex that gives rise to axion photon coupling. The strength of the tree level axion photon coupling in magnetic field is known to be model dependent. However, in a magnetic field, the new loop induced coupling has some interesting features. This note discusses the new axion photon vertex in a magnetized medium and the corrections arising from there. The magnitude of the correction to axion photon coupling, because of magnetized vacuum and matter, is estimated in this note. While making this estimate we note that the form of the axion photon vertex is related to the axial polarization tensor. This vertex is shown to satisfy the Ward identity. The coupling is shown to have a momentum dependent piece in it. Astrophysical importance of this extra modification is also pointed out.  相似文献

In terms of the coupled mode theory (CMT) and the transfer matrix method, we present a technique and relative formulas including the bent coupling coefficient, amplitude coupling ratio, amplitude transmission ratio and propagation power for analyzing the vertical bent coupling between a curved rectangular waveguide and a straight one. Investigations show that the bent coupling appears in an effective coupling region by both sides of the central coupling point. Beyond this effective coupling region, however, the bent coupling is very weak, and the propagation power in the waveguide is closer to a constant. As the bent radius increases, or the thickness of the coupling layer between these two waveguides decreases, this effective coupling region becomes wider, in which the coupling behavior becomes stronger.  相似文献

We study the production of an atom laser from a Bose–Einstein condensate using radio-frequency out-coupling. Single frequency coupling from the Bose–Einstein condensate leads to unstable production of an atom laser due to the extreme sensitivity of this process to magnetic field fluctuations. The extent of this experimental instability is quantified. Stable, repeatable production of an atom laser is achieved by the frequency modulation of the coupling, which forms a frequency comb across the condensate. Different regimes of modulated coupling are discussed. In addition the coupling of atoms into a weakly trapping state is studied. The oscillation frequency of this state in the vertical direction is measured. Preliminary results indicating qualitative difference between condensate and thermal cloud coupling are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the static dielectric function and interaction potential in strong coupling limit with AdS/CFT correspondence. The dielectric function is depressed compared with that in weak coupling. The interaction potential then presents a weaker screening characteristics in strong coupling, which indicates a smaller Debye mass compared with weak coupling.  相似文献

The thermodynamic interaction at thermodynamic equilibrium in the free fermion gas is described in an alternative way by the coupling of particles with a scalar thermodynamic field that features self-interaction. This alternative coupling is similar to the Higgs coupling and is helpful in understanding the temperature transformation at thermodynamic equilibrium under the Lorentz boost. As this coupling is applied in the abelian interaction fermion gas, nothing nontrivial is obtained. However, an interesting thing happens in the nonabelian interaction fermion gas where the difference appears for the diagonal and off-diagonal intermediate bosons as the Higgs-like coupling is added.  相似文献

A new optical system for an augmented reality(AR) display is proposed in this paper.The optical system mainly includes a ray deflector, coupling input grating, optical waveguide, and coupling output grating.Both the ray deflector and the coupling input grating are designed based on the diffraction characteristics of the polarization grating, and the coupling output grating is the Bragg reflection grating.Compared with other AR schemes, this AR optical system not only reduces the number of projections from two to one, but also improves the efficiency of light coupling into the optical waveguides.The energy loss is reduced by utilizing the single-order diffraction characteristics of the polarization grating in its coupling input structure.The light deflector uses the polarization selectivity of the polarization grating and the characteristics of the rotating light of the twisted nematic liquid crystal layer to realize beam deflection.The working principle of the optical system is experimentally and theoretically demonstrated.  相似文献

The intent of this study is to examine nonequilibrium heat transfer in a copper-argon nanofluid by molecular dynamics simulation. Two different methods, the physical definition method and the curve fitting method, are introduced to calculate the coupling factor between nanoparticles and base fluid. The results show that the coupling factors obtained by these two methods are consistent. The coupling factor is proportional to the volume fraction of the nanoparticle and inversely proportional to nanoparticle diameter. In the temperature range of 90-200 K, the coupling factor is not affected by temperature. The nanoparticle aggregation results in a decrease of the coupling factor.  相似文献

等离子体源离子注入与沉积技术作为一种可生产高结合力、高致密度涂层的真空镀膜技术,具有广阔的应用前景,尤其适用于高载荷工况下服役的功能涂层制备.该技术中金属等离子体源是关键,而现有的脉冲阴极弧源结构复杂,且由于伴随"金属液滴"而需要增加过滤装置.本文研究了另一种简单结构的金属等离子体源备选一高功率脉冲磁控溅射源(HPPMS)的放电特性,采用等离子体发射光谱仪探索了不同的耦合高压对HPPMS放电靶电流特性和等离子体特性的作用.发现耦合高压对HPPMS放电有明显的促进作用,相同靶电压下的放电强度大幅增加,相对于金属放电,耦合高压对气体放电的促进作用更加明显,但在自溅射为主的高压放电阶段对金属放电的促进作用明显增强.讨论了耦合高压对HPPMS放电的增强机制,发现耦合高压自辉光放电、耦合高压和HPPMS电压构成双向负压形成的空心阴极效应,以及耦合高压鞘层改善的双极扩散效应都对HPPMS放电的增强有明显作用.  相似文献

In this paper, the mutual coupling effects on the performance of underwater adaptive arrays are analyzed. This study manifests the discrepancies between cases of considering and ignoring the mutual coupling effects. The least mean square (LMS) based adaptive array is utilized to illustrate the mutual coupling effects. Numerical examples show that the performance of an underwater adaptive array can be improved as mutual coupling effects are considered. The consideration of mutual coupling effects is necessary in analyzing underwater adaptive arrays.  相似文献

The coupling complexity index is an information measure introduced within the framework of ordinal symbolic dynamics. This index is used to characterize the complexity of the relationship between dynamical system components. In this work, we clarify the meaning of the coupling complexity by discussing in detail some cases leading to extreme values, and present examples using synthetic data to describe its properties. We also generalize the coupling complexity index to the multivariate case and derive a number of important properties by exploiting the structure of the symmetric group. The applicability of this index to the multivariate case is demonstrated with a real-world data example. Finally, we define the coupling complexity rate of random and deterministic time series. Some formal results about the multivariate coupling complexity index have been collected in an Appendix.  相似文献

The ability to achieve near lossless coupling between a waveguide and a resonator is fundamental to many quantum-optical studies as well as to practical applications of such structures. The nature of loss at the junction is described by a figure of merit called ideality. It is shown here that under appropriate conditions ideality in excess of 99.97% is possible using fiber-taper coupling to high-Q silica microspheres. To verify this level of coupling, a technique is introduced that can both measure ideality over a range of coupling strengths and provide a practical diagnostic of parasitic coupling within the fiber-taper-waveguide junction.  相似文献

耦合效率的高低与耦合后光斑的好坏直接影响着光子晶体光纤棒的放大效果,因此需要对种子光的耦合效果进行研究,选择合适的激光器作为种子源。本文对光子晶体光纤棒在固体激光器与光纤激光器两种情况下的耦合效率进行了理论分析;模拟计算了两种激光器情况下耦合效率的变化规律以及对准误差对耦合效率的影响;选择合适的透镜或透镜组,使用两种激光器对光子晶体光纤棒进行了耦合实验;对比两种激光器的耦合效果可知:固体激光器的耦合效率最高只能达到62.4%,而光纤激光器的耦合效率可以达到80%以上;在光纤激光器耦合情况下,对不同功率注入时耦合效率,以及耦合后光斑进行了实验分析。得到的实验结果对后续光纤棒的放大实验具有指导作用。  相似文献

In this paper, we report an efficient coupling scheme with relaxed misalignment tolerances. The proposed coupling scheme consists of two ball lenses of same diameter (1 mm) and different refractive indices. The second ball lens which is facing the fiber tip has a higher refractive index (1.833), whereas the first one which faces the laser diode has a refractive index of 1.5. Employing Gaussian and ABCD ray tracing optics, the theoretically obtained coupling efficiency can reach a unity with relaxed working distance (separation of the coupling system from the fiber tip) in the range between 1 and 4 mm at some optimum positions of the coupling lenses with regard to each other and to the facet of the laser diode. It has been found that if the distance between the first ball lens and the laser diode (d1) is fixed at 1.1 mm, which is twice its focal length, the coupling efficiency and the working distance as well as the misalignment tolerances are greatly affected by variation of the separation between the two ball lenses (s), and for this proposed coupling scheme the highest coupling efficiency and largest working distance are obtained when s is in the range of 0.3-0.35 mm. Above and below this range there is a significant reduction in the values of the above-mentioned parameters. Experimentally, the Nd:YAG laser welding system has been used for the alignment and welding of the coupling components in a butterfly configuration; the experimentally obtained coupling efficiency of the proposed coupling system was around 75% with relaxed working distance. From the effect of lateral and angular offsets on coupling efficiency, it is clearly noticed that the mode field of laser diode is transformed from elliptical into circular and hence effectively matched with that of the single-mode fiber.  相似文献

 讨论了微波脉冲通过孔缝线性耦合进入腔体内的研究方法。给出了线性耦合的物理基础,定义了耦合函数,并导出了耦合函数随入射电场极化方向变化的公式。简要描述了数值求解孔缝线性耦合的时域有限差分方法以及修正算法。给出了以矢量网络分析仪HP8510C为主要设备测量耦合函数的实验方法。通过耦合函数的研究,观察到了共振效应和增强效应等现象,给出了微波孔缝耦合发生共振的普适公式。分析了测量探头对耦合函数测量的影响,验证了耦合函数随入射电场方向变化的公式。理论、数值和实验结果符合得较好。  相似文献
