The scattering amplitude for the scattering of circularly polarized KeV photons by a magnetized 3d transition metal is derived. In addition to the well-known form factor approximation a spin dependent term is found. It is smaller by a factor ω/mc 2 (ω being the photon energy) and proportional to the spin magnetic form factor. Results for the degree of polarization are too small to explain recent experiments.  相似文献

We propose a simple parton model interpretation of large anglep?p elastic scattering in terms of elementaryq?q scattering. We formulate the model and give some numerical estimates which qualitatively explain the most important spin effects. We do not assume any particular quark recombination mechanism but we stress the importance of the proton wave function. Comparisons with other models are made.  相似文献

Recently some quantum spin systems on tube lattices, so-called spin nanotubes, have been synthesized. They are expected to be interesting low-dimensional systems like the carbon nanotubes. As a first step of theoretical study on the spin nanotube, we investigate the three-leg spin tube, which is the simplest one, using numerical analyses of finite clusters and a finite-size scaling technique. The spin gap, which is one of the most interesting quantities reflecting the macroscopic quantum effect, was revealed to be open for any finite rung exchange couplings, in contrast to the three-leg spin ladder system which is gapless. We also found a quantum phase transition caused by an asymmetric rung interaction. When one of the three rung coupling constants is changed, the spin gap vanishes very rapidly.  相似文献

Spin polarization in semiconductors was investigated by pump-probe measurements, where the transmissions of the samples were monitored with probe pulses with same and opposite circular polarizations. The spin polarization as a function of the pump-probe delay was estimated, and the polarization was found to decay in a sub-ns timescale. It was also found that the polarization depends strongly on photon energy of the pump beam. The pumping energy dependence of the spin polarization was discussed based on the inter-band transition probabilities.  相似文献

It is shown that the recently developed polarization test for one-particle-exchange processes, when applied to 6 GeV/c elasticp-p scattering data and interpreted in the framework of QCD, indicates a predominance of “one-gluon-exchange”. The result appears to be completely independent of the way protons dissociate into quarks and of the way quarks recombine into protons.  相似文献

We address the problem of chaotic temperature dependence in disordered glassy systems at equilibrium by following states of a random-energy random-entropy model in temperature; of particular interest are the crossings of the free-energies of these states. We find that this model exhibits strong, weak or no temperature chaos depending on the value of an exponent. This allows us to write a general criterion for temperature chaos in disordered systems, predicting the presence of temperature chaos in the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick and Edwards-Anderson spin glass models, albeit when the number of spins is large enough. The absence of chaos for smaller systems may justify why it is difficult to observe chaos with current simulations. We also illustrate our findings by studying temperature chaos in the naıve mean field equations for the Edwards-Anderson spin glass. Received 27 March 2002 Published online 19 July 2002  相似文献

The rectification ratio of organic magnetic co-oligomer diodes is investigated theoretically by changing the molecular length. The results reveal two distinct length dependences of the rectification ratio: for a short molecular diode, the chargecurrent rectification changes little with the increase of molecular length, while the spin-current rectification is weakened sharply by the length; for a long molecular diode, both the charge-current and spin-current rectification ratios increase quickly with the length. The two kinds of dependence switch at a specific length accompanied with an inversion of the rectifying direction. The molecular ortibals and spin-resolved transmission analysis indicate that the dominant mechanism of rectification suffers a change at this specific length, that is, from asymmetric shift of molecular eigenlevels to asymmetric spatial localization of wave functions upon the reversal of bias. This work demonstrates a feasible way to control the rectification in organic co-oligomer spin diodes by adjusting the molecular length.  相似文献

In degenerate quantum plasma the energy behavior of electrostatic modes propagating perpendicular to the external magnetic field is studied by employing the separated spin evolution quantum hydrodynamic (SSE-QHD) model. This model reveals that spin electron cyclotron wave (SECW) appears additionally with the upper hybrid wave (UHW). In case of SECW, the curves for the energy flow speed at different levels of spin polarization effect flip over at a particular value of wave number. The spin polarization effect enhances the energy flow speed before this value of wave number and then suppresses it afterward. The energy flow speed is enhanced by spin polarization effect in the entire range of wave number for the propagation of UHW. The Bohm potential effect drastically increases the energy flow speed at high wave number domain in both the waves. This study may find its applications to understand the energy behavior inspin polarized solid state plasmas  相似文献

The transition temperature Tf of randomly distributed spins interacting via the RKKY interaction (spin glasses) has been calculated numerically within the spherical approximation. We numerically study ultra fast resonant spin torque (ST) magnetization reversal in magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJ) driven by current pulses having a direct current (DC) and a resonant alternating current (AC) component. The precessional ST dynamics of the single domain MTJ free layer cell are modeled in the macro spin approximation. The energy efficiency, reversal time, and reversal reliability are investigated under variation of pulse parameters like direct and AC current amplitude, AC frequency and AC phase. We find a range of AC and direct current amplitudes where robust resonant ST reversal is obtained with faster switching time and reduced energy consumption per pulse compared to purely direct current ST reversal. However, for a certain range of AC and direct current amplitudes a strong dependence of the reversal properties on AC frequency and phase is found. Such regions of unreliable reversal must be avoided for ST memory applications.  相似文献

The interaction of the electron spin with local elastic twists due to transverse phonons is studied. The universal dependence of the spin-relaxation rate on the strength and direction of the magnetic field is obtained in terms of the electron gyromagnetic tensor and macroscopic elastic constants of the solid. The theory contains no unknown parameters and it can be easily tested in experiment. At high magnetic field it provides a parameter-free lower bound on the electron spin relaxation in quantum dots.  相似文献

The specific heat of theXY model develops a characteristic double peak as a function of an applied magnetic field at relatively low temperatures. We argue that such a behavior is generic for planar spin chains, including chains with single-site anisotropy, and should be amenable to experimental observation. We also show that anharmonic corrections in the standard spin-wave theory exhibit certain infrared anomalies which limit the validity of perturbative calculations.  相似文献

We predict an anomalous bias dependence of the spin transfer torque parallel to the interface, Tparallel, in magnetic tunnel junctions, which can be selectively tuned by the exchange splitting. It may exhibit a sign reversal without a corresponding sign reversal of the bias or even a quadratic bias dependence. We demonstrate that the underlying mechanism is the interplay of spin currents for the ferromagnetic (antiferromagnetic) configurations, which vary linearly (quadratically) with bias, respectively, due to the symmetric (asymmetric) nature of the barrier. The spin transfer torque perpendicular to interface exhibits a quadratic bias dependence.  相似文献
