A consistent picture of conventional superconductivity in UPt3 is presented which explains qualitatively the gap anisotropy, the dependence of Tc on crystal perfection, the low value of the specific heat discontinuity at Tc and the induced magnetic form factor. The model obtained is based on results of a local density band calculation for UPt3 which are in excellent agreement with photoemission experiments and on estimates of the strength and anisotropy of the electron-phonon interaction. The key feature is anisotropy of the superconducting energy gap which arises from the variation of the electronic mass on the Fermi surface.  相似文献

We present a study of thermal conductivity in the superconducting phase of the heavy fermion superconductor UPt3. The angular dependence of the thermal conductivity shows a cosine-square law when the magnetic field rotates in the basal plane. For a field rotating out of the basal plane, however, our results present features which can not be explained through our current conventional picture for vortex scattering of heat-carrying quasi-particles.  相似文献

We study two dynamical systems submitted to white and Gaussian random noise acting multiplicatively. The first system is an imperfect pitchfork bifurcation with a noisy departure from onset. The second system is a pitchfork bifurcation in which the noise acts multiplicatively on the non-linear term of lowest order. In both cases noise suppresses some solutions that exist in the deterministic regime. Besides, for the first system, the imperfectness of the bifurcation reduces the regime of on-off intermittency. For the second system, the unstable mode can achieve a jump of finite amplitude at instability but without hysteresis. We finally identify a generic property that is verified by the stationary probability density function of the dynamical variable when a control parameter is varied.  相似文献

We study theoretically the effect of impurity scattering in f-wave (or E2u) superconductors. The quasi-particle density of states of f-wave superconductor is very similar to the one for d-wave superconductor as in hole-doped high T c cuprates. Also in spite of anisotropy in Δ( ), both the reduced superfluid density and the reduced electronic thermal conductivity is completely isotropic. Received 11 October 2000  相似文献
