Milligram amounts of the new compounds 1,9- and 1,7-C60F(CF3) (ca. 85:15 mixture of isomers) and C60F3(CF3) were isolated from a high-temperature C60/K2PtF6 reaction mixture and purified to 98 mol % compositional purity by two-dimensional high-performance liquid chromatography using Buckyprep and Buckyclutcher columns. The previously observed compounds C60F5(CF3) and C60F7(CF3) were also purified to 90+ mol % for the first time. Variable-temperature 19F NMR spectra of the mixture of C60F(CF3) isomers and the previously reported mixture of C(s)- and C1-C60F17(CF3) isomers demonstrate for the first time that fullerene(F)n(CF3)m derivatives with adjacent F and CF3 substituents exhibit slow-exchange limit hindered CF3 rotation spectra at -40 +/- 10 degrees C. The experimental and density functional theory (DFT) predicted deltaH++ values for CF3 rotation in 1,9-C60F(CF3) are 46.8(7) and 46 kJ mol(-1), respectively. The DFT-predicted deltaH++ values for 1,7-C60F(CF3), C(s)-C60F17(CF3), and C1-C60F17(CF3) are 20, 44, and 54 kJ mol(-1), respectively. The (> or = 4)J(FF) values from the slow-exchange-limit 19F spectra, which vary from ca. 0 to 48(1) Hz, show that the dominant nuclear spin-spin coupling mechanism is through-space coupling (i.e., direct overlap of fluorine atom lone-pair orbitals) rather than coupling through the sigma-bond framework. The 2J(FF) values within the CF3 groups vary from 107(1) to 126(1) Hz. Collectively, the NMR data provide an unambiguous set of (> or = 4)J(FF) values for three different compounds that can be correlated with DFT-predicted or X-ray diffraction derived distances and angles and an unambiguous set of 2J(FF) values that can serve as an internal standard for all future J(FF) calculations.  相似文献

We compare the molecular films of three different isomers of closo-dicarbadodecaborane (orthocarborane (1,2-C2B10H12), metacarborane (1,7-C2B10H12), paracarborane (1,12-C2B10H12)) and two related icosahedral cage molecules, 1-phospha-2-carbadodecaborane (1,2-PCB10H11) and 1-phospha-7-carbadodecaborane (1,7-PCB10H11) adsorbed on a variety of substrates. While the experimental electronic structure from combined photoemission and inverse photoemission studies of the molecular films are in good agreement with semiempirical calculations for the isolated molecule, there is a shift in the chemical potential for each molecule. The experimental position of the molecular chemical potential implicates an influence of both interface and adsorbate dipole.  相似文献

Icosahedral heteroboranes and especially metallacarboranes, which have recently been shown to act as potent HIV-1 protease inhibitors, are a unique class of chemical compounds with unusual properties, one of which is the formation of dihydrogen bonds with biomolecules. In this study, we investigate the effect of various metal vertices and exo-substitutions on several series of heteroboranes, including 11-vertex carborane cages [nido-7,8-C2B9Hn]n-13(n= 11,12,13), closo-1-SB11H11, closo-1-NB11H12, metal bis(dicarbollides)[3,3'-M (1,2-C2B9H11)2]n(M/n=Fe/2-, Co/1-, Ni/0) and fluoro (F), amino (NH2) and hydroxo (OH) derivatives of the metal bis(dicarbollides). Besides the properties of isolated systems (geometries, electronic properties and hydration), we study their interactions with a tetrapeptide, which models their biomolecular partner. Calculations have confirmed that the extra hydrogen in [nido-7,8-C2B9H12]- forms a bridge, which fluctuates between two stationary states. Using RESP-derived charges, it was ascertained that the negative charge of heteroboranes is located mainly on boron-bound hydrogens. An increase of the negative total charge (from 0 to -1 or -2) of heteroboranes yields an increase in the stabilisation energies of heteroborane[dot dot dot]peptide complexes and also a substantial increase in the hydration free energies of heteroboranes. Compared to the substitutions of metal vertices, the exo-substitutions of metallacarboranes cause a larger increase in stabilisation energies and a smaller increase in desolvation penalties. These two terms, stabilisation energies and desolvation penalties, contribute in opposite directions to the total heteroborane-biomolecule binding energy and must both be taken into account when designing new HIV-1 protease inhibitors.  相似文献

The bis(trifluoromethyl)phosphinous acid, (CF3)2P-O-H, is the only known example of a thermally stable phosphinous acid. Although this compound has been known since 1960, little is known about the chemistry of this extraordinary compound; this might be due to the tedious, and in some part risky, synthesis that was originally published. An improved, simple, and safe synthesis that is based on the treatment of the easily accessible (CF3)2PNEt2, with at least three equivalents of p-toluene sulfonic acid, is presented. The reaction results in a complete conversion to the phosphinous acid, which is isolated in almost 90 % yield. The compound exists in an equilibrium of two P--OH rotational isomers, a fact which is supported by quantum chemical calculations. The relative enthalpy difference of 6.4 kJ mol(-1), calculated at the B3PW91/6-311G(3d,p) level, is in excellent agreement with the experimental value of 5.9 kJ mol(-1), which was determined from the temperature dependence of the nu(OH) bands of the two rotational isomers. The complete experimental vibrational spectra of both rotamers, their predicted vibrational spectra obtained by using quantum chemical calculations, and an attempt at photoinduced isomerization of matrix-isolated (CF3)2POH is presented. The experimental structure, obtained from an electron-diffraction study in the gas phase, is reproduced very well by ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) methods.  相似文献

Insight into the unexpectedly small range of isotropic nitrogen chemical shifts in nitrobenzene derivatives is gained through measurements of the chemical shift (CS) tensor by solid-state NMR experiments and ab initio molecular orbital (MO) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The principal components, delta(ii), of the (15)N CS tensors have been measured for nitrobenzene, 4-nitroaniline, 4-nitrotoluene, 4-nitroanisole, 4-nitroacetophenone, nitromesitylene, and 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylnitrobenzene. No obvious correlations of the delta(ii) values with traditional reactivity parameters were observed. The CS tensor components change significantly for the para-substituted nitrobenzenes, but these variations nearly cancel to yield isotropic shifts that fall in a range of only 3 ppm. Ab initio calculations of the delta(ii) values at the HF level are in poor agreement with the experimental values, whereas MP2 calculations and DFT calculations employing the B3LYP functional are in better agreement with experiment. The calculated (B3LYP/6-311G) delta(ii) values follow a trend in which delta(11) and delta(33) increase while delta(22) decreases with the accepted electron withdrawing ability of the para substituent. These changes tend to cancel yielding a variation in delta(iso) of only 4 ppm. These calculations indicate that the CS tensor has the same orientation as the carbon CS tensor in the isoelectronic benzoate anion: delta(11) bisects the O-N-O angle, delta(33) is perpendicular to the NO(2) plane, and delta(22) is in the NO(2) plane and perpendicular to delta(11).  相似文献

The synthesis and isolation of 12 alpha-aryl, beta, beta'-disilyl-substituted vinyl cations 1b-l, 7, and 8 with the tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate counteranion is reported. The vinyl cations are characterized by NMR spectroscopy and are identified by their specific NMR chemical shifts (delta13C(C(+)) = 178.1-194.5; delta13C (Cbeta) = 83.3-89.9; delta13C (Cipso)) = 113.6-115.2; delta (29)Si = 25.0-12.0), supported by density functional calculations at the B3LYP/6-311G(2d,p)//B3LYP/6-31G(d) level. All cations are found to be stable at room temperature in solution and in the solid state. The NMR chemical shifts as well as J-coupling data indicate for vinyl cations, 1b-l, 7, and 8, the occurrence of substantial stabilization through pi-resonance via the aryl substituents and through sigma-delocalization via the beta-silyl groups. For vinyl cation 8, the free enthalpy of stabilization via pi-resonance by the alpha-ferrocenyl substituent is determined by temperature-dependent (29)Si NMR spectroscopy to be DeltaG++ = (48.9 +/- 4.2) kJ mol(-1). A Hammett-type analysis, which relates the (1)J(SiC(beta)) coupling constant and the low-field shift of the (29)Si NMR signal upon ionization, Deltadelta (29)Si, with the electron-donating ability of the aryl group, indicates an inverse relation between the extent of Si-C hyperconjugation and pi-donation. The computed structures (at B3LYP/6-31G(d)) of the vinyl cations 1a-l, 7, and 8 reveal the consequences of Si-C hyperconjugation and of pi-resonance interactions with the aryl groups. The structures, however, fail to express the interplay between sigma-delocalization and pi-conjugation in that the calculated Si-C bond lengths and the C+-C(ipso) bond lengths do not vary as a function of the substituent.  相似文献

The compounds Cl 3SiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 1) and Cl 2HSiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 2) were prepared by reactions of lithium 2-(dimethylamino)ethanolate with SiCl 4 and HSiCl 3. The analogous reaction with H 2SiCl 2 gave ClH 2SiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 3), but only in a mixture with Cl 2HSiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 2), from which it could not be separated. All compounds were characterized by IR and NMR ( (1)H, (13)C, (29)Si) spectroscopy, 1 and 2 by elemental analyses and by determination of their crystal structures. Cl 3SiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 1) and Cl 2HSiOCH 2CH 2NMe 2 ( 2) crystallize as monomeric ring compounds with pentacoordinate silicon atoms participating in intramolecular Si-N bonds [2.060(2) A ( 1), 2.037(2) A ( 2)]. The dative bonds in 1 and 2 between the silicon and nitrogen atoms could also be proven to exist at low temperatures in solution in (1)H, (29)Si-HMBC-NMR experiments by detection of the scalar coupling between the (29)Si and the protons of the NCH 2 and NCH 3 groups. A function describing the chemical shift delta exp (29)Si dependent on the chemical shifts of the individual equilibrium components, the temperature, and the free enthalpy of reaction was worked out and fitted to the experimental VT-NMR data of 1 and 2. This provided values of the free reaction enthalpies of Delta G = -28.8 +/- 3.9 kJ x mol (-1) for 1 and Delta G = -22.3 +/- 0.4 kJ x mol (-1) for 2 and estimates for the chemical shifts of open-chain (index o) and ring conformers (index r) for 1 of delta r = -94 +/- 2 ppm and delta o = -36 +/- 5 ppm and for 2 of delta r = -82 +/- 1 ppm and delta o = -33 +/- 4 ppm. The value of delta r for 1 is very close to that obtained from a solid-state (29)Si MAS NMR spectrum. Quantumchemical calculations (up to MP2/TZVPP) gave largely differing geometries for 1 (with a Si...N distance of 3.072 A), but well reproduced the geometry of 2. These differences are due to Cl...H and Cl...C repulsions and solid state effects, which can be modeled by conductor-like screening model calculations and also rationalized in terms of the topology of the electron density, which was analyzed in terms of the quantum theory of atoms in molecules.  相似文献

The standard (p(o) = 0.1 MPa) molar energies of combustion in oxygen, at T = 298.15 K, of four liquids: 2-ethylpyridine, 4-ethylpyridine, ethylpyrazine and 2,3-diethylpyrazine were measured by static bomb calorimetry in an oxygen atmosphere. The values of the standard molar enthalpies of vaporization, at T = 298.15 K, were obtained by Calvet microcalorimetry, allowing the calculation of the standard molar enthalpies of formation of the compounds, in the gas phase, at T= 298.15 K: 2-ethylpyridine (79.4 +/- 2.6) kJ mol(-1); 4-ethylpyridine (81.0 +/- 3.4) kJ mol(-1); ethylpyrazine (146.9 +/- 2.8) kJ mol(-1); and 2,3-diethylpyrazine (80.2 +/- 2.9) kJ mol(-1). The most stable geometries of all ethylpyridine and ethylpyrazine isomers were obtained using the density functional theory with the B3LYP functional and two basis sets: 6-31G* and 6-311G**. These calculations were then used to obtain estimates of the enthalpies of formation of all isomers, including those not experimentally studied, through the use of isodesmic reactions. A discussion of the relationship between structure and energetics of the isomers is also presented.  相似文献

The values of the molar standard enthalpies of formation, Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(76), cr) = (2705.6 +/- 37.7) kJ x mol(-1), Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(78), cr) = (2766.5 +/- 36.7) kJ x mol(-1), and Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(84), cr) = (2826.6 +/- 42.6) kJ x mol(-1), were determined from the energies of combustion, measured by microcombustion calorimetry on a high-purity sample of the D(2) isomer of fullerene C(76), as well as on a mixture of the two most abundant constitutional isomers of C(78) (C(2nu)-C(78) and D(3)-C(78)) and C(84) (D(2)-C(84), and D(2d)-C(84). These values, combined with the published data on the enthalpies of sublimation of each cluster, lead to the gas-phase enthalpies of formation, Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(76), g) = (2911.6 +/- 37.9) kJ x mol(-1); Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(78), g) = (2979.3 +/- 37.2) kJ x mol(-1), and Delta(f)H(o)(m)(C(84), (g)) = (3051.6 +/- 43.0) kJ x mol(-1), results that were found to compare well with those reported from density functional theory calculations. Values of enthalpies of atomization, strain energies, and the average C-C bond energy were also derived for each fullerene. A decreasing trend in the gas-phase enthalpy of formation and strain energy per carbon atom as the size of the cluster increases is found. This is the first experimental evidence that these fullerenes become more stable as they become larger. The derived experimental average C-C bond energy E(C-C) = 461.04 kJ x mol(-1) for fullerenes is close to the average bond energy E(C-C) = 462.8 kJ x mol(-1) for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).  相似文献

Rotation about the centroid/metal/centroid axis in ferrocene is facile; the activation energy is 1-5 kcal mol(-1). The structurally similar sandwich complexes derived from closo-[3-Co(eta5-NC4H4)-1,2-C2B9H11] (1) have a different rotational habit. In 1, the cis rotamer in which the pyrrolyl nitrogen atom bisects the carboranyl cluster atoms is 3.5 kcal mol(-1) more stable in energy than the rotamer that is second lowest in energy. This cis rotamer is wide, spanning 216 degrees , and may be split into three rotamers of almost equal energy by substituting the N and the carboranyl carbon atoms adequately. To support this statement, closo-[3-Co(eta5-NC4H4)-1,2-(CH3)2-1,2-C2B9H9] (2), closo-[3-Co(eta5-NC4H4)-1,2-(mu-CH2)3-1,2-C2B9H9] 3, 2-->BF3, and 3-->BF3 have been prepared. Two rotamers are found at low temperature for 2-->BF(3) and 3-->BF3. Compounds 2, 3, and 1-->BF3 behave similarly to 1. Rotational energy barriers and the relative populations of the different energy states are calculated from 1H DNMR spectroscopy (DNMR, dynamic NMR). These results agree with those of semiempirical calculations. Without exception, the cis rotamer is energetically the more stable. The fixed conformation of 1 assists in elucidating the rotational preferences of the [3,3'-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]- ion in the absence of steric hindrance; the [3,3'-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]- ion is commonly accepted to present a cisoid orientation. Complex 1 is electronically similar to the [3,3'-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]- ion. Both have heteroatoms in the pi ligands, and they have the same electronegativity difference between the constituent atoms. This leads to a view of the [NC4H4]- as [7,8-C2B9H11]2- ion, with no steric implications. Therefore the [3,3'-Co(1,2-C2B9H11)2]- ion should be considered to have a cisoid structure, and the different rotamers observed to be the result of steric factors and of the interaction of the counterion with either B-H groups and/or ancillary ligands. The rotamer adopted is the one with the atoms holding the negative charges furthest apart.  相似文献

A combination of density functional calculations of molecular clusters with a quantum cluster equilibrium (QCE) model provides evidence that liquid methanol is dominated by cyclic and/or lasso structures. Only cluster populations including these structures fit the measured thermodynamic and spectroscopic properties, such as heat of vaporization, heat capacity, NMR chemical shifts, and quadrupole coupling constants. On the other hand, cluster populations comprising open-chain structures fail to reach the experimental values: the heat of vaporization is about 10 kJ mol(-1) too low, and the proton chemical shift is insufficiently downfield-shifted by about 1 ppm.  相似文献

On the basis of the energies and 11B NMR chemical shifts computed at the BP86/AE1(*) and GIAO-B3LYP/II' levels of density functional theory, respectively, the structure of the long-known protonated iron(II) bis(dicarbollide) can be assigned to a staggered isomer with a cisoid conformation of the carborane ligands. In the unprotonated species, in contrast, these ligands adopt the usual trans orientation, suggesting that suitable control of protonation/deprotonation equilibria could induce rotary motion at the molecular level.  相似文献

The decrease in D-->A bond lengths, previously reported for some Lewis acid/base complexes, in going from the gas to the solid phases is investigated by obtaining an accurate crystal structure of solid ND(3)BF(3) by powder neutron diffraction. The B-N internuclear distance is 1.554(3) A, 0.118 A shorter than the most recent gas-phase microwave value and 0.121 A shorter than the single molecule geometry optimized (1.672 A, CISD/6-311++G(d,p)) bond length. The crystal structure also shows N-D.F-B hydrogen bonds. The effects of this change in structure and of intermolecular hydrogen-bonding on nuclear magnetic shielding (i.e., chemical shifts) and the nuclear quadrupolar coupling constants (QCC) are investigated by ab initio molecular orbital and density functional theory calculations. These calculations show that the nitrogen ((15)N and (14)N) and boron ((11)B and (10)B) chemical shifts should be rather insensitive to changes in r(BN) and that the concomitant changes in molecular structure. Calculations on hydrogen-bonded clusters, based on the crystal structure, indicate that H-bonding should also have very little effect on the chemical shifts. On the other hand, the (11)B and (14)N QCCs show large changes because of both effects. An analysis of the (10)B[(19)F] line shape in solid ND(3)(10)BF(3) yields a (11)B QCC of +/-0.130 MHz. This is reasonably close an earlier value of +/-0.080 MHz and the value of +/-0.050 MHz calculated for a [NH(3)BF(3)](4) cluster. The gas-phase value is 1.20 MHz. Temperature-dependent deuterium T(1) measurements yield an activation energy for rotation of the ND(3) group in solid ND(3)BF(3) of 9.5 +/- 0.1 kJ/mol. Simulations of the temperature-dependent T(1) anisotropy gave an E(a) of 9.5 +/- 0.2 kJ/mol and a preexponential factor, A, of 3.0 +/- 0.1 x 10(12) s(-)(1). Our calculated value for a [NH(3)BF(3)](4) cluster is 16.4 kJ/mol. Both are much higher than the previous value of 3.9 kJ/mol, from solid-state proton T(1) measurements.  相似文献

This paper is one of a series exploring simple approaches for the estimation of lattice energy of ionic materials, avoiding elaborate computation. The readily accessible, frequently reported, and easily measurable (requiring only small quantities of inorganic material) property of density, rho(m), is related, as a rectilinear function of the form (rho(m)/M(m))(1/3), to the lattice energy U(POT) of ionic materials, where M(m) is the chemical formula mass. Dependence on the cube root is particularly advantageous because this considerably lowers the effects of any experimental errors in the density measurement used. The relationship that is developed arises from the dependence (previously reported in Jenkins, H. D. B.; Roobottom, H. K.; Passmore, J.; Glasser, L. Inorg. Chem. 1999, 38, 3609) of lattice energy on the inverse cube root of the molar volume. These latest equations have the form U(POT)/kJ mol(-1) = gamma(rho(m)/M(m))(1/3) + delta, where for the simpler salts (i.e., U(POT)/kJ mol(-1) < 5000 kJ mol(-1)), gamma and delta are coefficients dependent upon the stoichiometry of the inorganic material, and for materials for which U(POT)/kJ mol(-1) > 5000, gamma/kJ mol(-1) cm = 10(-7) AI(2IN(A))(1/3) and delta/kJ mol(-1) = 0 where A is the general electrostatic conversion factor (A = 121.4 kJ mol(-1)), I is the ionic strength = 1/2 the sum of n(i)z(i)(2), and N(A) is Avogadro's constant.  相似文献

To understand the influence of the methyl group in the stability and conformational behavior of the piperidine ring, the standard (p0= 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation of 1-methylpiperidine, 3-methylpiperidine, 4-methylpiperidine, 2,6-dimethylpiperidine, and 3,5-dimethylpiperidine, both in the liquid and in the gaseous states, were determined at the temperature of 298.15 K. The numerical values of the enthalpies of formation in the liquid and in the gaseous state are, respectively, -(95.9 +/- 1.6) and -(59.1 +/- 1.7) kJ.mol(-1) for 1-methylpiperidine; -(123.6 +/- 1.4) and -(79.2 +/- 1.6) kJ.mol(-1) for 3-methylpiperidine; -(123.5 +/- 1.5) and -(82.9 +/- 1.7) kJ.mol(-1) for 4-methylpiperidine; -(153.6 +/- 2.1) and -(111.2 +/- 2.2) kJ.mol(-1) for 2,6-dimethylpiperidine; and -(155.0 +/- 1.7) and -(105.9 +/- 1.8) kJ.mol(-1) for 3,5-dimethylpiperidine. In addition, and to be compared with the experimental results, theoretical calculations were carried out considering different ab initio and density functional theory based methods. The standard molar enthalpies of formation of the four isomers of methylpiperidine and of the 12 isomers of dimethylpiperidine have been computed. The G3MP2B3-derived numbers are in excellent agreement with experimental data, except in the case of 2,6-dimethylpiperidine for which a deviation of 9 kJ.mol(-1) was found. Surprisingly, the DFT methods fail in the prediction of these properties with the exception of the most approximated SVWN functional.  相似文献

1H, 13C, and 15N NMR studies of platinide(II) (M=Pd, Pt) chloride complexes with quinolines (L=quinoline-quin, or isoquinoline-isoquin; LL=2,2'-biquinoline-bquin), having the general formulae trans-/cis-[ML2Cl2] and [M(LL)Cl2], were performed and the respective chemical shifts (delta1H, delta13C, delta15N) reported. 1H coordination shifts of various signs and magnitudes (Delta1Hcoord=delta1Hcomplex-delta1Hligand) are discussed in relation to the changes of diamagnetic contribution to the relevant 1H shielding constants. The comparison to the literature data for similar complexes containing auxiliary ligands other than chlorides exhibited a large dependence of delta1H parameters on electron density variations and ring-current effects (inductive and anisotropic phenomena). The influence of deviations from planarity, concerning either MN2Cl2 chromophores or azine ring systems, revealed by the known X-ray structures of [Pd(bquin)Cl2] and [Pt(bquin)Cl2], is discussed in respect to 1H NMR spectra. 15N coordination shifts (Delta15Ncoord=delta15Ncomplex-delta15Nligand) of ca. 78-100 ppm (to lower frequency) are attributed mainly to the decrease of the absolute value of paramagnetic contribution in the relevant 15N shielding constants, this phenomenon being noticeably dependent on the type of a platinide metal and coordination sphere geometry. The absolute magnitude of Delta15Ncoord parameter increased by ca 15 ppm upon Pd(II)-->Pt(II) replacement but decreased by ca. 15 ppm following trans-->cis transition. Experimental 1H, 13C, 15N NMR chemical shifts are compared to those quantum-chemically calculated by B3LYP/LanL2DZ+6-31G**//B3LYP/LanL2DZ+6-31G*, both in vacuo and in CHCl3 or DMF solution.  相似文献

The relative gas-phase energetics of several low-lying isomers of 1,7-dioxaspiro[5.5]undecane and 1,7,9-trioxadispiro[5.1.5.3]hexadecane have been calculated with second-order Mller-Plesset perturbation theory and basis sets as large as aug-cc-pVQZ. Relative energies in THF, dichloromethane, acetone, and DMSO have been estimated with corrections from polarized continuum model calculations at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d) level. In the most stable conformation of 1,7-dioxaspiro[5.5]undecane, both rings adopt chair conformations, and both oxygens are axially disposed (2A). It is more than 2 kcal mol(-1) more stable than all the other conformers. In agreement with previous work, the "twist-boat" trans isomer (3A) is the most stable isomer of 1,7,9-trioxadispiro[5.1.5.3]hexadecane. However, in contrast to this earlier study, an "all-chair" conformation (3B) is found to be the most stable cis isomer of 1,7,9-trioxadispiro[5.1.5.3]hexadecane (E approximately 0.5 kcal mol(-1) in acetone and DMSO). Gauge-independent atomic orbital computations at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d) level indicate that this is the only cis isomer with (13)C NMR chemical shifts that are qualitatively consistent with the experimental spectra.  相似文献

Tetrafluorobenzyne thermochemistry: experiment and theory   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Gas-phase thermodynamic properties of 1,2,3,4-tetrafluorobenzyne (1 H-(2)) were determined by Fourier transform mass spectrometry and ab initio and density functional theory methods. 1,2,3,4-Tetrafluorobenzyne radical anion was generated by abstraction of a proton and a hydrogen atom upon reaction of 1,2,3,4-tetrafluorobenzene (1) with O(-.). The resulting structure was confirmed by converting it to a species which could be independently prepared. Bracketing results provided the proton affinity of 1,2,3,4-tetrafluorobenzyne radical anion and the electron affinities of 1,2,3,4-tetrafluorobenzyne and 1,2,3,4-tetrafluorophenyl radical. These measured values were combined in a thermodynamic cycle to provide the heat of hydrogenation of 1 H(2) (DeltaH degree (hyd) = 367 +/- 18 kJ mol(-1)) and the first and second CH bond dissociation energies of 1 (481 +/- 11 and 321 +/- 13 kJ mol(-1)). The same approach failed for the meta and para isomers, but their energetics were examined using B3LYP and CCSD(T) computations.  相似文献

Investigation of all O-methyl ethers of 1,2,3-benzenetriol and 4-methyl-1,2,3-benzenetriol (3-16) by 1H NMR spectroscopy and density-functional calculations disclosed practically useful conformational effects on 1H NMR chemical shifts in the aromatic ring. While the conversion of phenol (2) to anisole (1) causes only small positive changes of 1H NMR chemical shifts (Delta delta < 0.08 ppm) that decrease in the order Hortho > Hmeta > Hpara, the experimental O-methylation induced shifts in ortho-disubstituted phenols are largest for Hpara, Delta delta equals; 0.19 +/- 0.02 ppm (n = 11). The differences are due to different conformational behavior of the OH and OCH3 groups; while the ortho-disubstituted OH group remains planar in polyphenols due to hydrogen bonding and conjugative stabilization, the steric congestion in ortho-disubstituted anisoles outweighs the conjugative effects and forces the Ar-OCH3 torsion out of the ring plane, resulting in large stereoelectronic effects on the chemical shift of Hpara. Conformational searches and geometry optimizations for 3-16 at the B3LYP/6-31G** level, followed by B3LYP/6-311++G(2d,2p) calculations for all low-energy conformers, gave excellent correlation between computed and observed 1H NMR chemical shifts, including agreement between computed and observed chemical shift changes caused by O-methylation. The observed regularities can aid structure elucidation of partly O-methylated polyphenols, including many natural products and drugs, and are useful in connection with chemical shift predictions by desktop computer programs.  相似文献
