Summary Thermal measurements of the aqueous solution of the Rochelle salt were carried out with slow evaporation. It is found that the phase transition occurs from the transparent-solution state of strong viscosity to a white solid state with exothermic peak.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper presents a constant mass high pressure isothermal calorimeter and describes the range of applications that this type of equipment can deal with. As an example, the thermophysical properties of an aqueous solution of MgSO4 at low temperature and at high pressure have been investigated. The main results showed that the phase change heat of the solution decreased with increasing pressure and the phase change temperature of the eutectic concentration was depressed under high pressure. Those changes could be related to the MgSO4 solubility and to water latent heat changes.  相似文献

The present study deals with the effect of ultrasound on the swelling and dissolution behavior of the cellulose pulp. Hardwood, acid sulfite cellulose pulp sheets were sonicated at different temperatures, operated at a fixed frequency (37 kHz) and power (320 W) to break the intermolecular forces and hydrogen bonds of crystalline region. The obtained samples were evaluated for crystallinity, intrinsic viscosity, molecular weight (MW), molecular weight distribution (MWD) and surface morphology. It was observed that the crystallinity reduced from 61.9 to 18.9% after 20 min of ultrasound treatment at 30 °C, which was equivalent to the swelling at 75 °C for 20 min without the use of ultrasound frequency. It was also found that ultrasound pre-treatment significantly decreased the particle size of the slurry and shortened the dissolution time and temperature requirement without affecting the cellulose solution quality.  相似文献

The photoactivation of a photosensitizer is the initial step in photodynamic therapy (PDT) where photochemical reactions result in the production of reactive oxygen species and eventually cell death. In addition to oxidizing biomolecules, some of these photochemical reactions lead to photosensitizer degradation at a rate dependent on the oxygen concentration among other factors. We investigated photodegradation of Photogem ® (28 μM), a hematoporphyrin derivative, at different oxygen concentrations (9.4 to 625.0 μM) in aqueous solution. The degradation was monitored by fluorescence spectroscopy. The degradation rate (M/s) increases as the oxygen concentration increases when the molar ratio of oxygen to Photogem® is greater than 1. At lower oxygen concentrations (<25 μM) an inversion of this behavior was observed. The data do not fit a simple kinetic model of first-order dependence on oxygen concentration. This inversion of the degradation rate at low oxygen concentration has not previously been demonstrated and highlights the relationship between photosensitizer and oxygen concentrations in determining the photobleaching mechanism(s). The findings demonstrate that current models for photobleaching are insufficient to explain completely the effects at low oxygen concentration.  相似文献

Time domain reflectometry method has been used in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 10 GHz to determine dielectric properties of aqueous solutions of acetonitrile in temperature range of 0°C to 40°C. The calibration method based on the least squares fit method has been used. The excess permittivity, activation energy, Kirkwood correlation factor and activation energy of acetonitrile-water system have also been determined. The dielectric data show that acetonitrile molecules interact such that the dipoles have a tendency to remain antiparallel.  相似文献

作者用Luminol-碳酸钠水溶液的声致发光拍摄了预置剪纸图案的照片,同时获得了这种溶液的声致发射光谱和光致荧光光谱。分析表明,由Luminol增强的碳酸钠水溶液的声致发光主要发生在可见光区域;就声致发光和光致荧光的发射波长而言,这种溶液的声激发和光激发具有一定程度的等效性。  相似文献

We synthesized zinc sulfide (ZnS) nanopowders with size ranging from 2 to 100 nm by a simple, low-cost, and mass production chemical method. The nanoparticles (NPs) were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. Our study concerns also the change in the refractive index of deionized water in presence of ZnS nanospheres. We present experimental results on effective index variation of water dispersed ZnS NPs at different wavelengths in visible spectrum.  相似文献

To examine the reaction rates of sonochemical degradation of aqueous phase carbon tetrachloride, trichloroethylene and 1,2,3-trichloropropane at various temperatures, power intensities, and saturating gases, the batch tests were carried out. The degradations of chlorinated hydrocarbons were analyzed as pseudo first order reactions and their reaction rate constants were in the range of 10(-1)-10(-3)/min. The reaction was fast at the low temperature with higher power intensity. Also, the reaction went fast with the saturating gas with high specific heat ratio, high solubility and low thermal conductivity. The main mechanism of destruction of chemicals was believed the thermal combustion in the bubble.  相似文献

We have investigated the structure and phase behavior of nonmolecularly layered silver stearate by means of temperature-dependent diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy. Upon heating the sample, remarkable spectral changes took place. The first phase transition took place that might be associated with a premelting event characterized by the formation of gauche conformers at 390-420 K. A second phase transition took place in which silver nanoparticles with a size of ∼4 nm were formed by thermal decomposition of silver stearate at 520-550 K. These silver nanoparticles, derivatized by stearate, were readily spread as a monolayer at air/water interface, and could be packed in 3-D assemblies by the Langmuir-Blodgett method. We employ effective interaction potentials between spherical polyelectrolyte microgels in order to investigate theoretically the structure, thermodynamics, and phase behavior of ionic microgel solutions. Combining a genetic algorithm with accurate free energy calculations we are able to perform an unrestricted search of candidate crystal structures. Hexagonal, body-centered orthogonal, and trigonal crystals are found to be stable at high concentrations and charges of the microgels, accompanied by reentrant melting behavior and fluid-fcc-bcc transitions below the overlap concentration.  相似文献

Methane aerosols play a fundamental role in the atmospheres of Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn's moon Titan as borne out by the recent Cassini-Huygens mission. Here we present the first study of the phase behavior of free methane aerosol particles combining collisional cooling with rapid-scan infrared spectroscopy in situ. We find fast (within minutes) phase transitions to crystalline states directly after particle formation and characteristic surface effects for nanometer-sized particles. From our results, we conclude that in atmospheric clouds solid methane particles are crystalline.  相似文献

Optical trapping of lysozyme, cytochrome c, or myoglobin based on photon pressure generated by focusing 1064 nm laser beam in an aqueous solution was explored. For all the proteins, microparticle formation was observed at the focal point under an optical microscope. Furthermore, the microparticles were identified to the molecular assemblies of the corresponding protein by means of confocal Raman microspectroscopy. For lysozyme, molecular clusters in solution were optically trapped to form the microparticle and it took more than 1 h to produce the microparticle. By contrast, molecular assembling proceeded within 1 min for cytochrome c and myoglobin. Since heme in cytochrome c or myoglobin would have a high polarizability, that would contribute to rapid assembling of the protein. Thus we demonstrated that a focused laser beam was a powerful tool to manipulate protein molecules in solution.  相似文献

The combination of ultrasound and photochemistry have been used to degrade an aqueous solution of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol. An ultrasonic probe of 22 kHz frequency and a UV tube of 15 W have been used. Anatase grade TiO2 was used as the semiconductor catalyst. The effect of parameters such as ultrasonic intensity, operating conditions, type of ultrasonic equipment, and mode of UV transmission have been studied. The sonophotochemical degradation has been found to be dependent on the intensity of sonication, temperature of the reaction, and the type of ultrasonic equipment used, but was independent of the mode of UV transmission. Enhancement in the degradation rate has been observed at a higher sonication intensity and temperature of the solution.  相似文献

ZnO nanorod arrays find applications in solar energy conversion, light emission and other promising areas. One approach to generate ZnO nanorods is the cost efficient aqueous chemical growth (ACG). Usually the ACG process is based on a nucleation step followed by growth of ZnO nanorods in aqueous solution at temperatures below 95 C.We report on the fabrication of homogeneous, large scale arrays of nanorods on various substrate materials (Si, glass, polymer) by ACG. PL-measurements show surprisingly good optical quality although the rods were grown at low temperature.Even though we have developed patterning of these arrays with photolithographic techniques, a bottom up approach for lateral patterning is important concerning further applications especially for mass-production. The substrates with patterned metal layers were employed to realize selective growth of nanorods. The experiments were carried out on Ti-, Ag- and Pt-patterned substrates. Selective growth on metal structured glass substrates was developed and is described.  相似文献

The time dependence of the fluorescence intensity of aqueous solutions of Radachlorin photosensitizer at different concentrations and the influence of the dissolved oxygen concentration on the fluorescence dynamics are analyzed. The experimental results are interpreted based on the numerical solution of the system of kinetic equations describing the photochemical processes that lead to the formation and degradation of singlet oxygen in solution. The influence of possible mechanisms of photosensitizer photobleaching is analyzed. It is shown that the main photobleaching mechanism under our experimental conditions is the chemical reaction between the photosensitizer in the triplet state and dissolved oxygen molecules. Two rate constants of electron-transfer chemical reactions, which are important for understanding the nature of the occurring photoprocesses, are determined.  相似文献
