Degenerate parametric amplification accompanied by dissipation is analyzed within the canonical operator formalism for quantum dissipative systems named non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics. The vacuum of the system is subject to both dissipation and breaking of phase symmetry due to squeezing. The annihilation-creation operators for the vacuum are derived and the structure of the vacuum is examined. The effects of dissipation on squeezing and uncertainty relation are estimated.  相似文献

Non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics is extended to treat spatially inhomogeneous systems. A canonical formalism of thermally dissipative semi-free fields describing spatially inhomogeneous situations is presented. With this formalism, a scheme of perturbative calculations is developed and the “on-shell” renormalization condition is discussed. We illustrate this scheme using a model of particles interacting with impurities and find that the self-consistent renormalization condition gives the kinetic equation for the averaged particle number density as well as the renormalized energy and the dissipative coefficient. It is also shown that this kinetic equation can be reduced to the Boltzmann equation in the gradient expansion approximation.  相似文献

A systematic renormalization procedure used in the perturbative calculation of the real-time causal Green's functions at finite temperature is presented. The formalism of thermo field dynamics is employed throughout, permitting the use of Feynman diagram techniques. The strong analogy between states defined in the context of quantum field theory in curved space-time (QFT-CST) and the ones defined in the thermo field dynamics (TFD) of Takahashi and Umezawa [1] is shown. This analogy is useful in order to introduce the entropy operator in CST in the same way as in TFD. When the extremum condition in the thermodynamical potential is imposed, a family of Bogoliubov transformations that give us a planckian spectrum is found, even in pathological cases such as the minimally coupled scalar field.  相似文献

We propose a new method to understand quantum entanglement using the thermo field dynamics (TFD) described by a double Hilbert space. The entanglement states show a quantum-mechanically complicated behavior. Our new method using TFD makes it easy to understand the entanglement states, because the states in the tilde space in TFD play a role of tracer of the initial states. For our new treatment, we define an extended density matrix on the double Hilbert space. From this study, we make a general formulation of this extended density matrix and examine some simple cases using this formulation. Consequently, we have found that we can distinguish intrinsic quantum entanglement from the thermal fluctuations included in the definition of the ordinary quantum entanglement at finite temperatures. Through the above examination, our method using TFD can be applied not only to equilibrium states but also to non-equilibrium states. This is shown using some simple finite systems in the present paper.  相似文献

After reviewing the real-time formalism of dissipative quantum field theory, i.e. non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics (NETFD), a kinetic equation, a self-consistent equation for the dissipation coefficient and a “mass” or “chemical potential” renormalization equation for non-equilibrium transient situations are extracted out of the two-point Green's function of the Heisenberg field, in their most general forms upon the basic requirements of NETFD. The formulation is applied to the electron-phonon system, as an example, where the gradient expansion and the quasi-particle approximation are performed. In QCD with massless quarks, the effective potential for the color singlet operator (Fμνa)2 can be constructed by the use of the trace anomaly equation and tells us that magnetic gluon condensation, 〈0|(Fμνa)2|0〉 > 0, occurs. When the method is applied to supersymmetric QCD, however, it gives us a puzzle; the gluons condense with negative energy density, and supersymmetry is broken in a pathological manner with the appearance of a negatively normed Nambu-Goldstone fermion. Spurred on by this observation, we examine in detail the properties of the vacuum for the super (and ordinary) O(N) non-linear σ model in two dimensions for which a similar puzzling situation occurs with regard to the lagrangian condensate. We find, in particular, that (i) the chiral condensate plays a crucial role in resolving the puzzle and that (ii) it is the nature of the response of the lagrangian condensate to the test charge, not the sign or the magnitude of the condensate itself, that determines the phase of the system. Implications of these results for (super) QCD, including an unconventional possibility of “electric” gluon condensation, are discussed.  相似文献

It is shown that in the weak coupling limit the Bethe-Salpeter equation of massless chromodynamics admits a colourless tachyon solution when the number of quark multiplets n ? nc, where for the colour group SU(N) the critical value nc ≈ 0.14 N3/(N2 ? 1). In Thermal Field Dynamics, thermal states are obtained from restrictions of vacuum states on a doubled field algebra. It is shown that the suitably doubled Fock representations of the Heisenberg algebra do not need to be introduced by hand but can be canonically handed down from deformations of the extended Heisenberg bialgebra. A unified canonical operator formalism for quantum stochastic differential equations, including the quantum stochastic Liouville equation and the quantum Langevin equation both of the Itô and the Stratonovich types, is presented within the framework of non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics (NETFD). It is performed by introducing an appropriate martingale operator in the Schrödinger and the Heisenberg representations with fermionic and bosonic Brownian motions. The carbon nanotube(CNT)-based materials can be used as vacuum device cathodes. Owing to the excellent field emission properties of CNT, it has great potentials in the applications of an explosive field emission cathode. The falling off of CNT from the substrate, which frequently appears in experiments, restricts its application. In addition, the onset time of vacuum breakdown limits the performance of the high-power explosive-emission-cathode-based diode. In this paper, the characteristics of the CNT, electric field strength, contact resistance and the kind of substrate material are varied to study the parameter effects on the onset time of vacuum breakdown and failure mechanism of the CNT by using the finite element method.  相似文献

The effects of instanton-anti-instanton interactions in high-temperature QCD with colour SU(2) are studied with and without quarks. The instanton potential proves to have no repulsive core, thus creating troubles with the definition of nonperturbative contributions to physical quantities. Also the chiral condensate is calculated, and it is shown to vanish if number of quark flavoursN f≧2, whereas forN f=1 it is nonzero for the arbitrary high temperature.  相似文献
