Electric permittivity * = ′ − i″ of nickel-hexammino nitrate (NHN) has been measured within the range of temperature from 9 to 300 K at a frequency of 8.8 GHz (X-band). It has been found that the phase transitions at Tk1 = 247 K and Tk2 = 90 K are discontinuous structural transitions between centrosymmetric phases, whereas the transition at Tc = 63 K is a continuous phase transition (glass?).  相似文献

Phase transitions of tetra(isopropylammonium)decachlorotricadmate(II) [(CH3)2CHNH3]4Cd3Cl10 crystal have been studied by infrared, far infrared and Raman measurements in wide temperature range, between 11 K and 388 K. The temperature changes of wavenumber, center of gravity, width and intensity of the bands were analyzed to clarify cationic and anionic contributions to the phase transitions mechanism. The results of investigation showed earlier by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal expansion and dielectric measurements clearly confirmed the sequence of phase transitions at T1=353 K, T2=294 K and T3=260 K. The current results derived from DSC and infrared measurements revealed additional phase transition at T4=120 K.  相似文献

Ceramics and single crystals of composition Li0. 02Na0. 98NbO3 have been synthetised and studied as a function of temperature by X-ray diffraction, microcalorimetry, dielectric and pyroelectric measurements. Optical observation of domains and birefringence properties have been also carried out. The material shows five transitions at T1 = 163 ± 10K, T2 = 540 ± 20K, T3 = 640 ± 20K, T4 = 825 ± 10K and T5 = 940 ± 15K. This sequence is quite different from that previously observed for pure NaNbO3, the Li doped material being ferroelectric below T3 and ferroelastic below T5.  相似文献

The heat capacity of the layer compound, tetrachlorobis (methylammonium) manganese II, (CH3NH3)2MnCl4, has been measured over the range 10K <T<300K. In this region, two structural phase transitions have been observed previously by other techniques: one transition is from a monoclinic low temperature (MLT) phase to a tetragonal low temperature (TLT) phase, and the other is from TLT to an orthorhombic room temperature (ORT) phase. The present experiments have shown that the lower transition (MLT→TLT) occurs at T = 94.37±0.05K with ΔHt = 727±5 J mol?1 and ΔSt = 7.76±0.05 J K?1 mol?1, and the upper transition (TLT→ORT) takes place at T = 257.02±0.07K with ΔHt = 116±1J mol?1 and ΔSt = 0.451±0.004 J K?1mol?1. These results are discussed in the light of recent measurements on (CH3NH3)2CdCl4, and also with regard to a recent theoretical model of the structural phase transitions in compounds of this type.In addition to the structural phase transitions, (CH3NH3)2MnCl4 also undergoes magnetic ordering at T < 150K. The magnetic component to the heat capacity, as deduced from a corresponding states comparison of the heat capacity of the present compound with that of the Cd compound, is shown to be consistent with the behaviour expected for a quasi 2-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet.  相似文献

Two weakly discontinuous structural phase transitions have been observed on single domains of KCdF3 at Tc1 = 487.5 K and at Tc2 = 472.7 K in the temperature dependence of the linear birefringence (LB). Beginning with the cubic high temperature phase the crystal becomes successively uniaxial and biaxial birefringent. Within the classical Landau approximation the LB has proved to be proportional to the square of the respective order parameter of the transformations. A relation which describes the coupling between both order parameters is discussed. In disagreement with Hidaka et al. [7] we do not observe a third phase transition near 240 K by the LB technique.  相似文献

Single crystal of a new [(CH3)2CHNH3]4Cd3Cl10 compound was grown and its properties have been characterized by dielectric and dilatometric investigations. Dielectric measurement evidenced the phase transitions at T1 = 352.8 K, T2 = 293.5 K and T3 = 261.5 K on cooling run. Dilatometric measurement of thermal expansion showed clearly two successive phase transitions at T1 and at T2. No temperature hysteresis was observed for phase transitions at T1 and T2. Large temperature hysteresis was observed at T3 in dielectric studies. Transitions at T1 and T3 are classified as a first order and at T2 as a continuous one. Anomalies of electric permittivity and expansion connected with the transitions are observed at practically the same temperatures and close to those observed earlier in DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) studies. Results of dilatometric studies were applied to estimate critical coefficient β for continuous phase transition at T1 which is equal to 0.40 ± 0.01.  相似文献

通过真空密封热处理、避免了样品晶化后吸水引起的误差,采用脉冲法在293K和77K测量了晶化过程初期三种非晶锂离子导体B2O3-0.7Li2O-0.7LiCl-xAl2O3(x=0.15,0.10和0.05)的7Li核磁共振谱。发现在低温(77K)只有固相锂离子对应的自旋-自旋弛豫时间T2=87μs,严格按高斯函数衰减。在室温下固相锂离子对应的T2s=127μs,仍是高斯型;但液相锂离子对应的T2却按洛仑兹函数衰减。这反映出锂离子导体的固-液二相性。三种非晶B2O3-0.7Li2O-0.7LiCl-xAl2O3(x=0.15,0.10和0.05)分别在热处理温度401,388和381℃附近,其液相锂离子对应的T2l都剧增,其吸收谱线宽都变窄。由此再次验证了非晶母体与微晶之间的两相界面效应的物理图象。 关键词:  相似文献

New doped manganite multiferroics Tb0.95Bi0.05MnO3, Gd0.75Ce0.25Mn2O5, and Eu0.8Ce0.2Mn2O5, which are semiconductors, have been grown and studied. The starting dielectric multiferroics TbMnO3 and RMn2O5 (R = Gd and Eu) have close magnetic and ferroelectric ordering temperatures of 30–40 K. The crystals studied are multiferroics in which states with giant permittivity and ferromagnetism coexist at room temperature. An analysis of the dielectric properties suggests that, at temperatures T ≥ 180 K, these crystals undergo a phase separation involving dynamic periodic alternation of quasi-2D layers of mixed-valence manganese ions, a process accounting for the onset of charge-induced ferroelectricity. At low temperatures (T < 100 K), a small phase volume in the crystals is occupied by as-grown quasi-2D layers containing dopants and carriers. Most of the crystal volume is occupied by the carrier-free dielectric phase. Thermally activated hopping conduction involving carrier self-organization in the crystal matrix with ferroelectric frustrations drives a phase transition to the state of charge-induced ferroelectricity at T ∼ 180 K. Critical behaviour with dimensionality d = 2 has been observed for the 300 K antiferrodistortive phase transition in Al ur6(ClO4)3 and Ga ur6(ClO4)3 by means of the temperature dependence of the ESR parameter D. The systems exhibited d = 2 behaviour in the static critical behaviour for T<Tc?40 K for T>Tc + 40 K. From the ESR data including line width measurements the local order parameter relaxation rate ω1 has been obtained for various temperatures above Tc, with a lowest value of ω1 = 150 MHz at Tc + 15 K  相似文献

The successive phase transitions of the cubic spinel structure CuV2S4 have been studied by the electrical resistivity and the specific heat. In the resistivity and the specific heat two anomalies have been observed at T1~91 K and T3≈55 K. The specific heat indicates that the phase transition at T1 is in the vicinity of a tricritical point, where the resistivity has a small sharp peak. On the other hand, the specific heat shows a step at T3, where a hysteresis of the resistivity indicates the existence of the first-order phase transition.  相似文献

The heat capacity of the layer compounds tetrachlorobis (n-propylammonium) manganese II and tetrachlorobis (n-propylammonium) cadmium II, (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2MnCl4 and (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2CdCl4 respectively, has been measured over the temperature range 10 K ?T ? 300 K.Two known structural phase transitions were observed for the Mn compound in this temperature region: at T = 112.8 ± 0.1 K (ΔHt= 586 ± 2 J mol?1; ΔSt = 5.47 ± 0.02 J K?1mol?1) and at T =164.3 ± (ΔHt = 496 ± 7 J mol?1; ΔSt =3.29 ± 0.05 J K?1mol?1). The lower transition is known to be from a monoclinic structure to a tetragonal structure, while the upper is from the tetragonal phase to an orthorhombic one. From comparison with the results for the corresponding methyl Mn compound it is deduced that the lower transition primarily involves changes in H-bonding while the upper transition involves motion in the propyl chain.A new structural phase transition was observed in the Cd compound at T= 105.5 ± 0.1 K (ΔHt= 1472.3 ± 0.1 J mol?1; ΔSt = 13.956 ± 0.001 J K?1mol?1), in addition to two transitions that have been observed previously by other techniques. The higher of these transitions(T = 178.7 ± 0.3 K; ΔHt = 982 ± 4 J mol?1 ΔSt = 6.16 ± 0.02 J K? mol?1) is known to be between two orthorhombic structures, while the structural changes at the lower transition (T= 156.8 ± 0.2 K; ΔHt = 598 ± 5 J mol?1, ΔSt = 3.85 ± 0.03 J K?1 mol?1) and at the new transition are not known. It is proposed that these two transitions correspond respectively to the tetragonal to orthorhombic and monoclinic to tetragonal transitions in the propyl Mn compounds.In addition to the structural phase transitions (CH3CH2CH2NH3)2MnCl4 magnetically orders at t? 130 K. The magnetic contribution to the heat capacity is deduced from the heat capacity of the corresponding diamagnetic Cd compound and is of the form expected for a quasi 2-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity at 10GHz, the dielectric constant, and the thermoelectric power (TEP) of [(C6H5)3PCH3]+(TCNQ)-2, from 230 up to 400 K, have been measured. This organic quasi-one-dimensional solid undergoes a first order phase transition at 314 K. At the transition the conductivity increases by a factor of 2.2 and the activation energy drops to 0.26 from 0.31 eV. At 314 K TEP decreases abruptly from -75 to -60μVK-1 and remains almost constant for T > 314 K. The dielectric permeability ?0 is constant and equal to 5 in the low temperature phase, increases abruptly by 7% at the transition, and then depends strongly on temperature in the high temperature phase. Results of the high temperature phase are interpreted in terms of a strongly correlated salt.  相似文献

The structure, orientation, and the response of electroresistance to magnetic field H and varying temperature T have been studied for 30-nm-thick La0.67Ba0.33MnO3 (LBMO) films. The deviation of the [001] direction in manganite layers from the normal to the plane of the (LaAlO3)0.29 + (SrAl0.5Ta0.5O3)0.71 substrate strictly corresponds to the vicinal angle of the latter. The minimum yield determined from 227-keV proton scattering spectra is 0.025, signifying a high order of the cationic sublattice in the films. The biaxial compression of stable nuclei of the manganite phase affects their stoichiometry, thus contributing to the depletion of LBMO films in the alkaline-earth element. The maximum electroresistance values have been observed in the films grown at T max ≈ 320 K, a temperature about 20 K lower than the Curie temperature of the corresponding bulk single crystals, and the maximum magnetoresistance (MR ≈ −0.42, μ0 H = 2 T) occurs at T ≈ 300 K. At low temperatures (T < T max/3) and μ0 H < 0.45 T, the electroresistance response of LBMO films to a magnetic field materially depends on the anisotropic magnetoresistance and the intensity of hole scattering from domain walls; when μ0 H > 0.5 T, the major current-carrier relaxation mechanism is the interaction with magnons.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of the alloy system REIn0.5Ag0.5 [RE = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb] are reported. All these alloys (except that of Yb) crystallize in a cubic CsCl type structure at room temperature. Low temperature X-ray diffraction data does not reveal any structural phase transformation down to 8 K. On the basis of magnetic susceptibility data at a different temperature (3–300 K) and applied magnetic field (2 × 105 to 8 × 106 A m-1, it has been concluded that GdIn0.5Ag0.5 is ferromagnetic (Tc = 118 K), TbIn0.5Ag0.5 and DyIn0.5Ag0.5 are meta magnetic (TN = 66 and 30 K, respectively) and alloys involving Ho, Er, Tm and Yb are ferrimagnetic with Néel temperatures (TN) equal to 24, 22, 21 and 20 K, respectively. The evaluated effective magneton number (p) is found to be slightly larger compared to theoretical values for tripositive ions of Gd, Tb and Dy and a bit smaller for Ho, Er, Tm and Yb. The results have been qualitatively explained using appropriate theories.  相似文献

Bulk superconducting La2CuO4+δ single crystals are obtained by using electrochemical intercalation technique from the as-grown insulating samples. Oxidation is carried out by constant current I=10μA at temperature T=70℃ and room temperature, respectively. Structure and magnetic properties are studied by low-temperature X-ray diffraction and susceptibility measurements. A superconducting phase with Tc of 19K and δ-0.12 can be attributed to the formation of oxygen clusters. Room temperature oxidation is inhomogeneous: two superconducting phases with Tc1 of 24K and Tc2 of 8K and an antiferromagnetic phase are coexisting in the crystal. It is found that the appearance of Tc in this system has the "step" tendency.  相似文献

Magnetic field (0–4 T) and temperature dependencies (4.2–320 K) of the electrical resistance of Gd5(Si1.5Ge2.5), which undergoes a reversible first-order ferromagnetic↔paramagnetic phase transition, have been measured. The electrical resistance of Gd5(Si1.5Ge2.5) indicates that the magnetic phase transition can be induced by both temperature and magnetic field. The temperature dependence of the electrical resistance, R(T), for heating at low temperatures in the zero magnetic field has the usual metallic character, but at a critical temperature of Tcr=216 K the resistance shows a 20% negative discontinuity due to the transition from the low-temperature high-resistance state to the high-temperature low-resistance state. The R(T) dependence for cooling shows a similar but positive 25% discontinuity at 198 K. The isothermal magnetic field dependence of the electrical resistance from 212T224 K indicates the presence of temperature-dependent critical magnetic fields which can reversibly transform the paramagnetic phase into the ferromagnetic phase and vice versa. The critical magnetic fields diagram determined from the isothermal magnetic field dependencies of the electrical resistance of Gd5(Si1.5Ge2.5) shows that the FM↔PM transition in zero magnetic field on cooling and heating occurs at 206 and 213 K, respectively. The full isothermal magnetic filed hysteresis for the FM↔PM transition is 2 T, and the isofield temperature gap between critical magnetic fields is 7 K.  相似文献

We have measured the length of a RbAg4I5 crystal in the temperature range between 130 K and 300 K using a fused silica LVDT dilatometer system. The expansivity is a smooth, nearly linear function of temperature. There is no anomaly such as a kink, discontinuity, or critical behavior at Tc = 209 K where the superionic β to superionic α phase transition occurs.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic ordering and the incommensurate-commensurate phase transition in EuAs3 by zero-field (ZF) and longitudinal-field μSR. In the commensurate phase, stable at temperatures below TL=10.3 K, the ZF muon signal exhibits oscillations corresponding to four muon precession frequencies the lowest of which behaves anomalously. The muon signal shows no oscillation but exponential decay in the incommensurate phase stable in temperature range from TL≈10.3 K up to TN≈11 K. The temperature dependence of the fitted relaxation rate shows divergence-like behaviour at the ordering temperature TN≈11 K and also at the lock-in transition TL≈10.3 K. The results are in qualitative agreement with those previously obtained by neutron and X-ray magnetic scattering investigations except for the anomalous temperature dependence of the lowest frequency in the commensurate phase. We propose a model for this anomalous behaviour.  相似文献
