A compressible Stokes problem is analyzed in a convex polygon D. The goal of this paper is to sort out a singularity of the pressure function at the corner and to establish the corresponding regularity result of the resulted remainder part of the solution. For this a solution formula is derived and the singular function of the Stokes problem is considered. It is seen that the lowest order of the regularity of the system is the same as that of the (incompressible) Stokes one.  相似文献

The Neumann problem for the Stokes system is studied on a domain in R 3 with Ljapunov bounded boundary. We construct a solution of this problem in the form of appropriate potentials and determine unknown source densities via integral equation systems on the boundary of the domain. The solution is given explicitly in the form of a series.  相似文献

The article treats the question of how to numerically solve the Dirichlet problem for the Stokes system in the exterior of a three-dimensional bounded Lipschitz domain. In a first step, the solution of this problem is approximated by functions solving the Stokes system in a truncated domain and satisfying a suitable artificial boundary condition on the outer boundary of this truncated domain. In a second step, this new problem is approximately solved in finite element spaces related to a graded mesh as introduced by Goldstein [Math. Comp., 36, 387–404 (1981)]. The difference between this finite element approximation and the exact solution of the exterior Stokes problem is estimated in the norm of suitable unweighted L2-Sobolev spaces. These estimates are analogous to corresponding results which are known for the Poisson equation. © 1997 by B.G. Teubner Stuttgart-John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper our objective is to provide physically reasonable solutions for the stationary Navier–Stokes equations in a two-dimensional domain with two outlets to infinity, a semi-strip Π and a half-plane K. The same problem in an aperture domain, i.e. in a domain with two half-plane outlets to infinity, has been studied but only under symmetry restrictions on the data. Here, we assume that the main asymptotic term of the solution takes an antisymmetric form in K and apply the technique of weighted spaces with detached asymptotics, i.e. we use spaces where the functions have prescribed asymptotic forms in the outlets. After first showing that the corresponding Stokes problem admits a unique solution if and only if certain compatibility conditions are satisfied, we write the Navier–Stokes equations as a perturbation of the Stokes problem and the crucial compatibility condition as an algebraic equation by which the flux becomes determined. Assuming that the coefficient of the main (antisymmetric) asymptotic term of the solution in K does not vanish and that the data are sufficiently small, we use a contraction principle to solve the Navier–Stokes system coupled with the algebraic equation. Finally, we discuss the ill-posedness of the Navier–Stokes problem with prescribed flux.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the time-dependent Stokes and Navier–Stokes problems with nonstandard boundary conditions: the pressure is given on some part of the boundary. The stationary case was first studied by Bégue, Conca, Murat and Pironneau and, next, their study were completed by Bernard, mainly about regularity. In this paper, the Stokes problem is studied by a method analogous to that of Temam for the standard problem, combined with regularity results of Bernard for the nonstandard stationary case. We obtain existence, uniqueness and regularity H2. In addition, in two dimensions, a regularity W2,r, r2, is proved. Next, for the nonstandard Navier–Stokes problem, we present some existence, uniqueness and regularity H2 results. The proof of existence is based on a fixed point method.  相似文献

The time-periodic Stokes problem in a half-space with fully inhomogeneous right-hand side is investigated. Maximal regularity in a time-periodic Lp setting is established. A method based on Fourier multipliers is employed that leads to a decomposition of the solution into a steady-state and a purely oscillatory part in order to identify the suitable function spaces.  相似文献

We show existence and regularity of solution for the compressible viscous steady state Navier–Stokes system on a polygon having a grazing corner and that the density has a jump discontinuity across a curve inside the domain. There are corresponding jumps in derivatives of the velocity. The solution comes from a well-posed boundary value problem on a polygonal domain with a non-convex corner. A formula for the decay of the jump is given. The decay formula suggests that density jumps can occur in a compressible flow with a non-vanishing viscosity.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence and regularity of solutions to the Stokes and Oseen equations with nonhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions with low regularity. We consider boundary conditions for which the normal component is not equal to zero. We rewrite the Stokes and the Oseen equations in the form of a system of two equations. The first one is an evolution equation satisfied by Pu, the projection of the solution on the Stokes space – the space of divergence free vector fields with a normal trace equal to zero – and the second one is a quasi-stationary elliptic equation satisfied by (IP)u, the projection of the solution on the orthogonal complement of the Stokes space. We establish optimal regularity results for Pu and (IP)u. We also study the existence of weak solutions to the three-dimensional instationary Navier–Stokes equations for more regular data, but without any smallness assumption on the initial and boundary conditions.  相似文献

The paper deals with the Dirichlet problem for the Stokes linear equation in a domain exterior to an open surface. With the help of the theory of boundary integral (pseudo-differential) equations uniqueness and existence theorems are proved in the Bessel-potential and Besov spaces and Cα-smoothness (with α<1/2) of solution is established in the neighbourhood of the boundary of the open surface. © 1997 B. In this paper, an accurate model of the spin-coating process is presented and investigated from the analytical point of view. More precisely, the spin-coating process is being described as a one-phase free boundary value problem for Newtonian fluids subject to surface tension and rotational effects. It is proved that for T > 0 there exists a unique, strong solution to this problem in (0, T) belonging to a certain regularity class provided the data and the speed of rotation are small enough in suitable norms. The strategy of the proof is based on a transformation of the free boundary value problem to a quasilinear evolution equation on a fixed domain. The keypoint for solving the latter equation is the so-called maximal regularity approach. In order to pursue in this direction one needs to determine the precise regularity classes for the associated inhomogeneous linearized equations. This is being achieved by applying the Newton polygon method to the boundary symbol.  相似文献

We consider the Navier–Stokes system with variable density and variable viscosity coupled to a transport equation for an order‐parameter c. Moreover, an extra stress depending on c and ?c, which describes surface tension like effects, is included in the Navier–Stokes system. Such a system arises, e.g. for certain models of granular flows and as a diffuse interface model for a two‐phase flow of viscous incompressible fluids. The so‐called density‐dependent Navier–Stokes system is also a special case of our system. We prove short‐time existence of strong solution in Lq‐Sobolev spaces with q>d. We consider the case of a bounded domain and an asymptotically flat layer with a combination of a Dirichlet boundary condition and a free surface boundary condition. The result is based on a maximal regularity result for the linearized system. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this work we analyze the existence and regularity of the solution of a nonhomogeneous Neumann problem for the Poisson equation in a plane domain Ω with an external cusp. In order to prove that there exists a unique solution in H1(Ω) using the Lax–Milgram theorem we need to apply a trace theorem. Since Ω is not a Lipschitz domain, the standard trace theorem for H1(Ω) does not apply, in fact the restriction of H1(Ω) functions is not necessarily in L2(∂Ω). So, we introduce a trace theorem by using weighted Sobolev norms in Ω. Under appropriate assumptions we prove that the solution of our problem is in H2(Ω) and we obtain an a priori estimate for the second derivatives of the solution.  相似文献

We prove, on one hand, that for a convenient body force with values in the distribution space (H -1(D)) d , where D is the geometric domain of the fluid, there exist a velocity u and a pressure p solution of the stochastic Navier–Stokes equation in dimension 2, 3 or 4. On the other hand, we prove that, for a body force with values in the dual space V of the divergence free subspace V of (H 1 0(D)) d , in general it is not possible to solve the stochastic Navier–Stokes equations. More precisely, although such body forces have been considered, there is no topological space in which Navier–Stokes equations could be meaningful for them.  相似文献

The barotropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations in an unbounded domain are studied. We prove the unique existence of the solution (u, p) of the system (1.1) in the Sobolev spaceHk + 3 × Hk + 2provided that the derivatives of the data of the problem are sufficiently small, wherek ≥ 0 is any integer. The proof follows from an analysis of the linearized problem, the solvability of the continuity equation, and the Schauder fixed point theory. Similar smoothness results are obtained for a linearized form of (1.1).  相似文献

We study the nonstationary flow of an incompressible fluid in a thin rectangle with an elastic plate as the upper part of the boundary. The flow is governed by a time-dependent pressure drop and an external force and it is modeled by Stokes equations. The dynamic of this fluid–structure interaction problem is studied in the limit when the thickness of the fluid domain tends to zero. Using the asymptotic techniques, we obtain for the effective plate displacement a sixth-order parabolic equation with a non standard boundary conditions. Results on existence, uniqueness and regularity of the solution are proved. The approximation is justified through a weak convergence theorem.  相似文献

The Keldysh equation is a more general form of the classic Tricomi equation from fluid dynamics. Its well-posedness and the regularity of its solution are interesting and important. The Keldysh equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. Adding a special nonlinear absorption term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain—similar to the potential fluid shock reflection problem. By means of an elliptic regularization technique, a delicate a priori estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of a mixed boundary value problem of the Keldysh equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary under some conditions. We believe that this kind of regularity result for the solution will be rather useful.  相似文献

We study the Dirichlet problem for the parabolic equation ut = Δum, m > 0, in a bounded, non-cylindrical and non-smooth domain Ω N + 1, N ≥ 2. Existence and boundary regularity results are established. We introduce a notion of parabolic modulus of left-lower (or left-upper) semicontinuity at the points of the lateral boundary manifold and show that the upper (or lower) Hölder condition on it plays a crucial role for the boundary continuity of the constructed solution. The Hölder exponent is critical as in the classical theory of the one-dimensional heat equation ut = uxx.  相似文献

This paper deals with a singular perturbation of the stationary Stokes and Navier-Stokes systems. The term ε2Δp is added to the continuity equation, where ε is a small parameter. For a domain with cylindrical outlets to infinity and exponentially decaying data, existence and uniqueness of solutions under flux conditions at infinity are established for the linear problem and also for the nonlinear problem in the case of small data. Asymptotically exact estimates are proved for ε tending to zero. For sufficiently regular data, these estimates imply the convergence in H loc 5/2−δ for the velocity parts and in H loc 3/2−δ for the pressure parts, respectively. The Busemann-equation is a classical equation coming from fluid dynamics. The well-posed problem and regularity of solution of Busemann-equation with nonlinear term are interesting and important. The Busemann-equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. With a special nonlinear absorb term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. By means of elliptic regularization technique, a delicate prior estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of mixed boundary value problem of Busemann-equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary on some conditions. The result is better than the result of classical boundary degenerate elliptic equation.  相似文献

We study an unsteady nonlinear fluid–structure interaction problem. We consider a Newtonian incompressible two-dimensional flow described by the Navier–Stokes equations set in an unknown domain depending on the displacement of a structure, which itself satisfies a linear wave equation or a linear beam equation. The fluid and the structure systems are coupled via interface conditions prescribing the continuity of the velocities at the fluid–structure interface and the action-reaction principle. Considering three different structure models, we prove existence of a unique local-in-time strong solution, for which there is no gap between the regularity of the initial data and the regularity of the solution enabling to obtain a blow up alternative. In the case of a damped beam this is an alternative proof (and a generalization to non zero initial displacement) of the result that can be found in [20]. In the case of the wave equation or a beam equation with inertia of rotation, this is, to our knowledge the first result of existence of strong solutions for which no viscosity is added. The key points consist in studying the coupled system without decoupling the fluid from the structure and to use the fluid dissipation to control, in appropriate function spaces, the structure velocity.  相似文献
