Ho^3+ : GdVO4 is a new laser material suitable for high-power laser systems. In this paper we measure the absorption spectra of Ho^3+ in the sample Ho^3+: GdVO4. The intensity parameters are calculated by using the Judd-Ofelt theory. Some predicted spectroscopic parameters, such as the spontaneous radiative transition rate, branching ratio and integrated emission cross section are dealt with. And we also compare the optical parameters with those of other materials. From these results, it is found that there are many transitions which have large oscillator strengths and large integrated emission cross sections. Especially the transitions such as ^5 F4 → ^5 I 8, ^5 S2→^5 I8, ^5 F5 → ^5 I8 and ^5 I7 →^ 5 I8 are useful in solid-state lasers and other fields. Finally, we discuss the splitting of the energy levels of Ho^3+ in the crystal GdVO4 based on the group theory.  相似文献

The structural and luminescence properties of nanocrystalline ZrO2 :Er^3+ films are reported. Transparent nano-ZrO2 crystalline films doped with Er^3+ have been prepared using a wet chemistry process. An intense roomtemperature emission at 1527nm with a full width at half-maximum of 46 nm has been observed, which is assigned to the ^4Ⅰ13/2 → ^4Ⅰ15/2 intra-4f^n electric transition of Er^3+. Correlations between the luminescence properties and structures of the nanocrystalline ZrO2 :Er^3+ films have been investigated. Infrared-to-visible upconversion occurs simultaneously upon excitation of a commercially available 980-nm laser diode and the involved mechanisms have also been explained. The results indicate that the nanocrystalline ZrO2:Er^3+ films might be suggested as promising materials for achieving broadband Er^3+-doped waveguide amplifiers and upconversion waveguide lasers.  相似文献

A planar optical waveguide was formed in RbTiOP04 crystal by 6.0-MeV oxygen ion implantation with the dose of 2 × 10^15 ions/cm2 at room temperature. Annealing at 200℃ for 30min in air is performed to improve the thermal stability of the waveguide. The dark modes of the waveguide are measured at wavelengths 633 and 1539 nm, respectively. The refractive index profiles in the guiding layer are reconstructed by using the reflectivity calculation method. TRIM'98 code was carried out to simulate the damage profiles caused by the implantation process to obtain a better understanding of the waveguide formation.  相似文献

The angular distributions of elastic scattering for the ^6Li +^208Pb system have been measured at several energies around the Coulomb barrier. The parameters of optical potential are extracted by means of a phenomenological optical model analysis. It is found that the real and imaginal potentials show a pronounced energy dependence. The behaviour of the potential at the nearly especially sub-barrier energies in the ^6Li+^208Pb system is quite different from the results of some previous reports observed in other systems, such as ^19F+^208Pb and ^16O+^208Pb. This unusual threshold phenomenon indicates that breakup channel is strongly coupled with the elastic channel and has obvious effects on optical potential.  相似文献

The optical potential parameters for the halo nucleus system ^6He+^12C are extracted from fits to the measured angular distributions of ^11B(^7Li, ^6He)12C reaction at energies of 18.3 and 28.3MeV with distorted-wave Born approximation analysis. The characters of the obtained optical potentiM parameters are basically consistent with the results extracted from the fits to the elastic-scattering angular distributions in the literature.  相似文献

Optical planar waveguides in Yb 3+-doped phosphate glasses are fabricated by implanting triple-energy helium ions. The guiding modes and the near-field intensity distribution are measured by using the prism-coupling method and the end-face coupling setup with a He-Ne laser at 633 nm The intensity calculation method (ICM) is used to reconstruct the refractive index profile of the waveguide. The absorption and the fluorescence investigations reveal that the glass bulk features are well preserved in the active volumes of the waveguides, suggesting the fabricated structures for possible applications as waveguide lasers.  相似文献

Mid-infrared(MIR) emissions of 2.4 and 3.5 μm from Tm3+:LiYF4 single crystals attributed to3H4 →3H5 and3H5 →3F4 transitions as well as MIR emissions of 4.2,4.3,and 4.5 μm from Nd3+:LiYF4 lasers attributed to4I15/2 →4I13/2,4I13/2 →4I11/2,and4I11/2 →4I9/2 transitions,respectively,are observed.LiYF4 single crystals possess high transmittance of over 85% in the 2.5-6 μm range.The large emission crosssections of Tm-doped crystals at 2.4 μm(1.9×10-20cm2) and Nd-doped crystals at 4.2 μm(0.84×10-20 cm2) as well as the high rare-earth doping concentrations,excellent optical transmission,and chemicalphysical properties of the resultant samples indicate that Nd3+and Tm3+singly doped crystals may be promising materials for application in MIR lasers.  相似文献

Design and preparation of multilayer optical coatings are investigated on laser crystal Nd:YVO4, YVO4, and frequency doubling crystal KTP substrate. Multilayer optical coatings are deposited on one surface of the crystals using the ion beam sputtering technique, and the other surface is coated with a single SiO2 as protective layer. For the YVO4 crystal after coating, the reflectivity at 1 064 and 532 nm are greater than 99.9% and 99.8%, respectively, and the transmissivity at 808 nm is greater than 91.5%. For the KTP crystal after coating, the reflectivity at 1064 nm is greater than 99.95%, and the transmissivity at 532 nm is greater than 99.5%. After thermal annealing, the transmissivity can be improved. The obtained coated crystals can be used in high Dower solid-state lasers.  相似文献

The single charge transfer process in ^3He^2+ + ^4He collisions is investigated using the quantum-mechanical molecular- orbital close-coupling method, in which the adiabatic potentials and radial couplings are calculated by using the ab initio multireference single- and double-excitation configuration interaction methods. The differential cross sections for the single charge transfer are presented at the laboratorial energies E = 6 keV and lOkeV for the projectile ^3He^2+. Comparison with the existing data shows that the present results are better in agreement with the experimental measurements than other calculations in the dominant small angle scattering, which is attributed to the accurate calculations of the adiabatic potentials and the radial couplings.  相似文献

By using an Ar^+ ion laser, a tunable Rh 6G dye laser (linewidth 0.5cm^-1) pumped by the second harmonic of a YAG:Nd laser and a Coherent 899-21 dye laser as light sources and using a monochromator, a phase-locking amplifier and a computer as the data detecting system, we detect the optical properties of Eu^3+-doped Y2SiO5 crystal. Persistent ,spectral hole burning (PSHB) are observed in the Eu^3+ ions spectral lines (^5 Do-T Fo transition) in the crystal at the temperature of 16K. For 15mW dye laser burning the crystal for 0.1 s spectral holes with hole width about 80 MHz both at 579.62nm and at 579.82nm are detected and the holes can remain for a long time, more than 10h.  相似文献

The novel vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excited Na3 Y9O3 (BO3)8:Tb^3+ (NYOB:Tb^3+) green phosphor is prepared. Strong VUV photoluminescence and high quenching concentration of Tb^3+ (20 wt%) are observed in NYOB: Tb^3+ and the strong emission are correlated with the unique layer-type structure of NYOB. All the characteristic 4 f - 5d transitions of Tb^3+ and the host absorption band in VUV region are identified in the excitation spectrum. Based on the results, the energy levels scheme of Tb^3+ in NYOB:Tb^3+ is first established. This newly developed NYOB:Tb^3+ phosphor shows excellent optical properties when compared with the commercial Zn2SiO4:Mn^2+ and would be a potential VUV-excited green phosphor.  相似文献

A planar optical waveguide is formed in monoclinic double rare-earth-tungstate laser crystal Yb:KLu(WO4)2 by 6.0 Me V oxygen ion implantation with a dose of 2 × 10^16 ions/cm^2 at room temperature. Subsequently, annealing at 300℃ for an hour in air is performed on the sample to decrease colour centres to improve the thermal stability of the waveguide. The refractive index profiles of the waveguide are reconstructed by an effective refractive index method. Dark modes of the waveguide are observed at wavelengths of 633 nm and 1539 nm. TRIM'98 is used to simulate the damage profile caused by the implantation process. It is found that the refractive index change may be mainly due to the damage induced by the nuclear energy loss.  相似文献

The possible defect models of Y^3+:PbWO4 crystals are discussed by defect chemistry and the most possible substituting positions of the impurity Y^3+ ions are studied by using the general utility lattice program (GULP). The calculated results indicate that in the lightly doped Y^3+ :PWO crystal, the main compensating mechanism is [2Ypb^+ + VPb^2-], and in the heavily doped Y^3+ :PWO crystal, it will bring interstitial oxygen ions to compensate the positive electricity caused by YPb^+, forming defect clusters of [2Ypb^+ +Oi^2-] in the crystal. The electronic structures of Y3+ :PWO with different defect models are calculated using the DV-Xα method. It can be concluded from the electronic structures that, for lightly doped cases, the energy gap of the crystal would be broadened and the 420nm absorption band will be restricted; for heavily doped cases, because of the existence of interstitial oxygen ions, it can bring a new absorption band and reduce the radiation hardness of the crystal.  相似文献

We report the fabrication of widely tunable ridge waveguide distributed Bragg reflector(DBR) lasers with InGaAsP butt-joint as grating material. The shape of the butt–joint interface is found to have significant effect on the properties of the lasers. It is shown that irregular mode jumps during wavelength tuning can be avoided by a V-shaped butt–joint interface. From the fabricated device, 23 channels with 0.8 nm spacing and greater than 35 dB side mode suppression ratios are obtained. The different tuning characteristics of the ridge waveguide and the previously reported buried ridge stripe DBR lasers are discussed. Combined with the wide tuning range and the simple structure, the ridge waveguide DBR lasers are promising for use in wavelength division multiplexing passive optical networks(WDM-PONs).  相似文献

Investigation results on linear and non-linear optical properties, damage threshold and potential efficiencies of biaxial negative LiInS2 crystal are represented. It shows that the crystal has phase-matching and group-velocity matching in wide spectral range for second harmonic, sum- and difference-frequency generation of visible, near and middle IR lasers. The possibilities of designing middle IR optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by Nd:YAG and dye lasers and specially possibility of frequency conversion with 3 um range femtosecond erbium lasers are given.  相似文献

A theoretical model to simulate an end-pumped CW Nd^3+:GdVO4 laser at 1063 nm is presented. Its essence is to use the propagation equations to demonstrate the spatial evolutions of the pump and the laser powers in the cavity, hence it is applicable to both low and high gain lasers. The simulation results obtained by this model are in good agreement with the experimental observations reported in the literature for a Ti:sapphlre-pumped Nd^3+:GdVO4 laser. Moreover, some parameters, such as the reflectivity of output coupler, the spot size of laser beam and the crystal length, are discussed with a view to optimizing the laser performance.  相似文献

The absorption and emission spectra of the YVO4 single crystal co-doped with 1 at.% Nd^3+ and 1 at.% Yb^3+ are investigated. The efficient Nd^3+ → Yb^3+ energy transfer and the back transfer (Yb^3+ → Nd^3+) are observed at room temperature. The fluorescence lifetime of the 4F3/2 level of Nd^3+ in Nd,Yb:YVO4 is measured under 808 nm laser light excitation. The efficiency of Nd^3+ → Yb^3+ energy transfer in YVO4 is determined to be about 34%.  相似文献

Er^{3+}- and Er^{3+}/Yb^{3+}-doped lead germanate glasses that are suitable for use in fibre lasers and optical amplifiers as well as optical waveguide devices have been fabricated and characterized. The absorption spectra from near-infrared to visible were obtained and the Judd-Ofelt parameters were determined from the absorption band. Intense and broad 1.53μm infrared fluorescence and visible upconversion luminescence were observed under 976 nm diode laser excitation. For 1.53μm emission band, the full widths at half-maximum are 36, 37, 51 nm for GPE, GPYE and GPFE samples, respectively. For frequency upconversion emission, the intense bands centred at around 524, 545, 657nm are due to the {}^4S_{3/2}+{}^2H_{11/2}→{}^4I_{15/2} and {}^4F_{9/2}→{}^4I_{15/2} transitions of Er^{3+} ions. The quadratic dependence of the green and red emissions on excitation power indicates that the two-photon absorption process occurs under the 976nm excitation.  相似文献

Intensity modulation induced by the asymmetric external cavity in single-mode microchip Nd:YAG lasers is presented. Two kinds of experimental results are discussed based on multiple feedback effects. In one case, the intensity modulation curve is a normal sine wave, whose fringe frequency is four times higher than that of a conventional optical feedback system, caused by multiple feedback effects. In the other case, the intensity modulation curve is the overlapping of the above quadruple-frequency signal and conventional optical feedback signal, which is determined by the additional phase difference induced by the asymmetric external cavity. The theoretical analyses are in good agreement with the experimental results. The quadruple-frequency modulation of the laser output intensity can greatly increase the resolution of displacement measurement of an optical feedback system.  相似文献
