Given the algebra T of ternions (upper triangular 2×2 matrices) over a commutative field F we consider as set of points of a projective line over T the set of all free cyclic submodules of T 2. This set of points can be represented as a set of planes in the projective space over F 6. We exhibit this model, its adjacency relation, and its automorphic collineations. Despite the fact that T admits an F-linear antiautomorphism, the plane model of our projective line does not admit any duality.  相似文献

R denotes a commutative ring. After Bass[B], a ring R is perfect in case every module has a projective cover. A ring R is a max ring provided that every nonzero i2-module has a maximal submodule. Bass characterized perfect rings as semilocal rings with T-nilpotent Jacobson radical J, and showed they are max rings. Moreover, Bass proved that R is perfect iff R satisfies the dec on principal ideals. Using Bass' theorems, the Hamsher-Koifman ([H],[K]) characterization of max R (see (3) ?(4) below), and the characterization of max R by the author via subdirectly irreducible quasi-injective R-modules, we obtain.  相似文献

Lattices of submodules of modules and the operators we can define on these lattices are useful tools in the study of rings and modules and their properties. Here we shall consider some submodule operators defined by sets of left ideals. First we focus our attention on the relationship between properties of a set of ideals and properties of a submodule operator it defines. Our second goal will be to apply these results to the study of the structure of certain classes of rings and modules. In particular some applications to the study and the structure theory of torsion modules are provided.  相似文献

A right R-module M is (Goldie) finite dimensional (= f.d.) if M contains no infinite direct sums of submodules.M is quotient f.d. (= q.f.d.) if M/K is f.d. for all submodules K.A submodule I of M is subdirectly irreducible (= SDI) if V is the intersection of all submodules S α of M that properly contain I, then V ≠ I, equivalentlyM/I has simple essential socle V/I. A theorem of Shock [74] states that a q.f.d. right module M is Noether-ian iff every proper submodule of M is contained in a maximal submodule. Camillo [77], proved a companion theorem: M is q.f.d. iff every submodule A ≠ 0 contains a finitely generated (= f.g) submodule S such that A/S has no maximal submodules. Using these two results, and an idea of Camillo [75], we prove the theorem stated in the title.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. A proper submodule N of an R-module M will be called prime [resp. n-almost prime], if for rR and aM with raN [resp. raN \ (N: M) n?1 N], either aN or r ∈ (N: M). In this note we will study the relations between prime, primary and n-almost prime submodules. Among other results it is proved that:
  1. If N is an n-almost prime submodule of an R-module M, then N is prime or N = (N: M)N, in case M is finitely generated semisimple, or M is torsion-free with dim R = 1.
  2. Every n-almost prime submodule of a torsion-free Noetherian module is primary.
  3. Every n-almost prime submodule of a finitely generated torsion-free module over a Dedekind domain is prime.
  4. There exists a finitely generated faithful R-module M such that every proper submodule of M is n-almost prime, if and only if R is Von Neumann regular or R is a local ring with the maximal ideal m such that m 2 = 0.
  5. If I is an n-almost prime ideal of R and F is a flat R-module with IFF, then IF is an n-almost prime submodule of F.
