Atomic alignment effect for the CF3* formation in the oriented Ar (3P2, MJ = 2) + CF3H reaction has been investigated at different two CF3H beam conditions: effusive and supersonic beams. The chemiluminescence intensity of CF3* was measured as a function of the magnetic orientation field direction in the collision frame. A significant contribution of rank 4 moment was recognized. The cross-section for each magnetic M'(J) substate in the collision frame, sigma|M'(J)|, was determined to be sigma(|M'(J)|=0):sigma(|M'(J)|=1):sigma(|M'(J)|=2) = 1.00:0.84 +/- 0.02:0.88 +/- 0.02 for the effusive CF3H beam condition. The atomic alignment effect was found to significantly depend on the CF3H beam condition. For the supersonic beam condition, sigma(|M'(J)|=0&1) was changed to be smaller than sigma(|M'(J)|=2).  相似文献

Atomic orbital alignment effect was observed for the CN (B2Sigma+) formation in the reaction of oriented Ar (3P2) with CH3CN (CD3CN). The relative cross-sections for each magnetic MJ' substrate in collision frame sigmaH|MJ'| for CH3CN and sigmaD|MJ'| for CD3CN, were determined to be sigmaH0:sigmaH|1|:sigmaH|2|:sigmaD0:sigmaD|1|:sigmaD|2| = 1.00:0.81:0.84:2.01:1.92:1.87. A significant atomic orbital alignment effect was observed. In addition, a notable deuterium isotope effect was observed on both the cross-section and the atomic orbital alignment effect.  相似文献

An alignment effect in the dissociative energy transfer reaction of Ar((3)P(2))+(X(2)O)(n)(X=N,H) was directly measured using an oriented Ar((3)P(2),M(J)=2) beam. The chemiluminescence intensity of N(2)(B,(3)Pi(g)) for (N(2)O)(n) and OH(A,(2)Sigma(+)) for (H(2)O)(n) was measured as a function of the magnetic orientation field direction in the collision frame. The relative reaction cross section for each magnetic substate in the collision frame, sigma(M(J) (') ), was determined. In both the reaction systems, it is observed that the dimer formation significantly enhances the alignment effect and decreases the reactivity, especially for sigma|1| and sigma|2|. A significant contribution of rank 4 moment is recognized in the dimer reaction.  相似文献

X-ray structural and spectroscopic properties of a series of heterodinuclear d(8)-d(10) metal complexes [M'M' '(mu-dcpm)(2)(CN)(2)](+) containing d(8) Pt(II), Pd(II), or Ni(II) and d(10) Au(I), Ag(I), or Cu(I) ions with a dcpm bridging ligand have been studied (dcpm = bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)methane; M' = Pt, M' ' = Au 4, Ag 5, Cu, 6; M' ' = Au, M' = Pd 7, Ni 8). X-ray crystal analyses showed that the metal...metal distances in these heteronuclear metal complexes are shorter than the sum of van der Waals radii of the M' and M' ' atoms. The UV-vis absorption spectra of 4-6 display red-shifted intense absorption bands from the absorption spectra of the mononuclear trans-[Pt(phosphine)(2)(CN)(2)] and [M' '(phosphine)(2)](+) counterparts, attributable to metal-metal interactions. The resonance Raman spectra confirmed assignments of (1)[nd(sigma)-->(n + 1)p(sigma)] electronic transitions to the absorption bands at 317 and 331 nm in 4 and 6, respectively. The results of theoretical calculations at the MP2 level reveal an attractive interaction energy curve for the skewed [trans-Pt(PH(3))(2)(CN)(2)-Au(PH(3))(2)(+)] dimer. The interaction energy of Pt(II)-Au(I) was calculated to be ca. 0.45 ev.  相似文献

The dynamics of some elementary reactions of N(2D), C(3P,1D) and CN(X2 sigma +) of importance in combustion have been investigated by using the crossed molecular beam scattering method with mass spectrometric detection. The novel capability of producing intense, continuous beams of the radical reagents by a radio-frequency discharge beam source was exploited. From angular and velocity distribution measurements obtained in the laboratory frame, primary reaction products have been identified and their angular and translational energy distributions in the center-of-mass system, as well as branching ratios, have been derived. The dominant N/H exchange channel has been examined in the reaction N(2D) + CH4, which is found to lead to H + CH2NH (methylenimine) and H + CH3N (methylnitrene); no H2 elimination is observed. In the reaction N(2D) + H2O the N/H exchange channel has been found to occur via two competing pathways leading to HNO + H and HON + H, while formation of NO + H2 is negligible. Formation of H + H2CCCH (propargyl) is the dominant pathway, at low collision energy (Ec), of the C(3P) + C2H4 reaction, while at high Ec formation of the less stable C3H3 isomers (cyclopropenyl and/or propyn-1-yl) also occurs; the H2 elimination channel is negligible. The H elimination channel has also been found to be the dominant pathway in the C(3P,1D) + CH3CCH reaction leading to C4H3 isomers and, again, no H2 elimination has been observed to occur. In contrast, both H and H2 elimination, leading in comparable ratio to C3H + H and C3(X1 sigma g+) + H2(X1 sigma g+), respectively, have been observed in the reaction C(3P) + C2H2(X1 sigma g+). The occurrence of the spin-forbidden molecular pathway in this reaction, never detected before, has been rationalized by invoking the occurrence of intersystem crossing between triplet and singlet manifolds of the C3H2 potential energy surfaces. The reaction CN(X2 sigma +) + C2H2 has been found to lead to internally excited HCCCN (cyanoacetylene) + H. For all the reactions the dynamics have been discussed in the light of recent theoretical calculations on the relevant potential energy surfaces. Previous, lower resolution studies on C and CN reactions carried out using pulsed beams are noted. Finally, throughout the paper the relevance of these results to combustion chemistry is considered.  相似文献

Steric effect for N2(C,3Piu) formation in the energy transfer reaction of Ar(3P2)+N2 was directly measured by using an oriented Ar(3P2,MJ=2) beam at a collision energy of 0.06 eV. The N2(C,3Piu) chemiluminescence intensity was measured as a function of the magnetic orientation field direction in the collision frame. A significant alignment effect on the energy transfer probability was observed. The relative reactivity for each magnetic substate in the collision frame sigma|MJ'|was determined to be sigma|2|:sigma|1|:sigma(0)=0.50:0.60:1.00. It is suggested that the observed steric effect is primarily due to the favorable configuration of the 3p orbital for the efficient overlap with the 2sigma(u) molecular orbital of N(2).  相似文献

Microcanonical variational transition-state theory was used to determine the entropies of activation for hydrogen-bond cleavage reactions leading to CH(3)CN + ROH(2)(+) in a series of acetonitrile-alcohol proton-bound pairs (CH(3)CN)(ROH)H(+) (where R = CH(3), CH(3)CH(2), CH(3)CH(2)CH(2), and (CH(3))(2)CH). In each case, the dissociation potential surface was modelled at the MP2/6-31 + G(d) level of theory. The dissociating configurations having the minimum sums-of-states were identified in each case and the resulting entropies of activation were calculated. Combined with previous work on the competing reaction leading to CH(3)CNH(+) + ROH, the results permitted the determination of the Delta(DeltaS) in each proton-bound pair. For the (CH(3)CN)(CH(3)OH)H(+) and (CH(3)CN)(CH(3)CH(2)OH)H(+) proton-bound pairs, the entropies of activation for the two dissociating channels are essentially the same [i.e., Delta(DeltaS) = 0], while Delta(DeltaS) for the propanol-containing pairs ranged between 40 and 45 J K(-1) mol(-1). The latter non-zero values are due to a combination of the location of the dividing surface in each dissociation and the rapidity with the frequencies of the vanishing vibrational modes go to zero as they are converted to product translations and rotations during the dissociation.  相似文献

The reaction of the ground state atomic carbon, C(3P), with simple unsaturated nitrile, C2H3CN(X1A' (vinyl cyanide), is investigated theoretically to explore the probable routes for the formation of carbon-nitrogen-bearing species in extraterrestrial environments particularly of ultralow temperature. Five collision complexes without entrance barrier as a result of the carbon atom addition to the pi systems of C2H3CN are characterized. The B3YLP/6-311G(d,p) level of theory is utilized in obtaining the optimized geometries, harmonic frequencies, and energies of the intermediates, transition states, and products along the isomerization and dissociation pathways of each collision complex. Subsequently, with the facilitation of computed RRKM rate constants at collision energy of 0-10 kcal/mol, the most probable paths for each collision complexes are determined, of which the CCSD(T)/6-311G(d,p) energies are calculated. The major products predicted are exclusively due to the hydrogen atom dissociations, while the products of H2, CN, and CH2 decompositions are found negligible. Among many possible H-elimination products, cyano propargyl (p4) and 3-cyano propargyl (p5) are the most probable, in which p5 can be formed via two intermediates, cyano allene (i8) and cyano vinylmethylene (i6), while p4 is yielded from i8. The study suggests this class of reaction is an important route to the synthesis of unsaturated nitriles at the temperature as low as 10 K, and the results are valuable for future chemical models of interstellar clouds.  相似文献

We report a new theoretical model that accounts for the unusual magnetic properties of the cyanide cluster ([MnII(tmphen)2]3[MnIII(CN)6]2) (tmphen = 3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline). The model takes into account (1) the spin-orbit interaction, (2) the trigonal component of the crystal field acting on the ground-state cubic (3)T(1) terms of the apical Mn(III) ions, and (3) the isotropic contribution to the exchange interaction between Mn(III) and Mn(II) ions. The ground state of the cluster was shown to be the state with the total angular momentum projection |M(J)| = 15/2; the energies of the low-lying levels obtained from this treatment increase with decreasing |M(J)| values, a situation that leads to a barrier for the reversal of magnetization (U(eff) approximately 30 cm(-1)). The new model explains the recently discovered single-molecule magnet behavior of the ([MnII(tmphen)2]3[MnIII(CN)6]2)in contrast to the traditional approach that takes into account only the ground-state spin (S) and a negative zero-field splitting parameter (D(S) < 0).  相似文献

Depending on the synthetic conditions, five heterometallic Mn(III)Fe(II) polynuclear compounds with the same ratio of constituents, 2[Mn(acacen)](+)/[Fe(CN)(5)NO](2-), of different nuclearity and dimensionality (0D, 1D, 2D) were isolated. A [Mn(acacen)MeOH](2)[Fe(CN)(5)NO]·1.5MeOH, 1 complex has been prepared by reaction of Mn(III)/Schiff base (SB) complex, [Mn(acacen)Cl] (H(2)acacen is N,N'-ethylenebis(acetylacetoneimine)) with sodium nitroprusside (NP). Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that crystallization of 1 from coordinating or non-coordinating solvents results in different coordination polynuclear materials: from C(2)H(5)OH [{Mn(acacen)H(2)O}(2)Fe(CN)(5)NO]·C(2)H(5)OH, 2, a trinuclear complex is formed; from CH(3)CN [{Mn(acacen)H(2)O}(4)Fe(CN)(5)NO][Fe(CN)(5)NO]·4CH(3)CN, an ionic compound with a pentanuclear bimetallic cation is formed 3; from i-C(3)H(7)OH [{Mn(acacen)}(2)(i-PrOH)Fe(CN)(5)NO](n), a coordination chain polymer 4 is formed; from toluene [{Mn(acacen)}(2)Fe(CN)(5)NO](n), a layered network 5 is formed. As the magnetic measurements show, for all compounds the weak interaction between Mn(III)S = 2 spins through the NP bridge is antiferromagnetic and exhibits no significant photoactivity.  相似文献

The reaction of vanadium(III) acetylacetonate with HBF4 in acetonitrile yields [(CH3CN)5V-O-V(CH3CN)5][BF4]4, a material that serves as a convenient precursor to other [V-O-V]4+ species such as [(bipy)2(CH3CN)V-O-V(CH3CN)(bipy)2][BF4]4 (bipy=2,2'-bipyridine). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction shows that the V-O-V linkage of [(CH3CN)5V-O-V(CH3CN)5]4+ is linear. An Evans method measurement of the solution-phase magnetic susceptibility indicates strong ferromagnetic coupling between the vanadium centers. Magnetic susceptibility (chi) and magnetization (M(H)) data for a powdered sample and for a single crystal oriented with its V-O-V axis parallel to the applied field were measured over 1.8-300 K. The results suggest that the V(III) centers are ferromagnetically coupled with J approximately 72 K (approximately 50 cm(-1)) yielding a ground state with a total spin Stotal=2. Theoretical fit to the M(H) plot for the single crystal yielded g||=2.01+/-0.01 and the zero-field splitting parameter D=0.60+/-0.04 K (0.42+/-0.03 cm(-1)). EPR measurements at 34 and 101.6 GHz are consistent with the Stotal=2 ground state and yield g||=1.9825, g perpendicular=1.9725 and D=0.57+/-0.03 K.  相似文献

The compound Tb[Au(CN)2]3.3H(2)O crystallizes in a layered structure in the hexagonal space group P6(3)/mcm with the 9-coordinate environment of Tb3+ comprising six (CN)- and three OH2 in a tricapped trigonal prism. The shortest Au...Au distance is 3.31 angstroms. The vibrational spectra show that the series Ln[Au(CN)2]3.3H2O (Ln = Y, Pr, Sm, Eu, Tb) are isostructural. The electronic spectra of Eu[Au(CN)2]3.3H2O clearly show that Eu3+ occupies one site of spectroscopic site symmetry D3h, in agreement with the crystallographic data. The electronic emission and absorption spectra of Tb[Au(CN)2]3.3H2O have been recorded at temperatures down to 1.5 K, and the f-f pure electronic transitions are interpreted in detail as arising from the lowest electronic states (in D3h symmetry) (7F6)E' in absorption and (5D4)E' in emission. At low energy, further bands are assigned to the vibronic structure of the CN stretching and water stretching modes, with the latter more predominant. Although the CN stretching vibrations show exclusive infrared or Raman activity in Tb[Au(CN)2]3.3H2O, both of these infrared and Raman active modes are observed in the two-center vibronic transitions. The reasons for this are discussed.  相似文献

The reaction of Mn(II) and [NEt(4)]CN leads to the isolation of solvated [NEt(4)]Mn(3)(CN)(7) (1) and [NEt(4)](2) Mn(3)(CN)(8) (2), which have hexagonal unit cells [1: R3m, a = 8.0738(1), c = 29.086(1)??; 2: P3m1, a = 7.9992(3), c = 14.014(1)??] rather than the face centered cubic lattice that is typical of Prussian blue structured materials. The formula units of both 1 and 2 are composed of one low- and two high-spin Mn(II) ions. Each low-spin, octahedral [Mn(II)(CN)(6)](4-) bonds to six high-spin tetrahedral Mn(II) ions through the N?atoms, and each of the tetrahedral Mn(II) ions are bound to three low-spin octahedral [Mn(II)(CN)(6)](4-) moieties. For 2, the fourth cyanide on the tetrahedral Mn(II) site is C?bound and is terminal. In contrast, it is orientationally disordered and bridges two tetrahedral Mn(II) centers for 1 forming an extended 3D network structure. The layers of octahedra are separated by 14.01?? (c?axis) for 2, and 9.70?? (c/3) for 1. The [NEt(4)](+) cations and solvent are disordered and reside between the layers. Both 1 and 2 possess antiferromagnetic superexchange coupling between each low-spin (S = 1/2) octahedral Mn(II) site and two high-spin (S = 5/2) tetrahedral Mn(II) sites within a layer. Analogue 2 orders as a ferrimagnet at 27(±1)?K with a coercive field and remanent magnetization of 1140?Oe and 22,800?emuOe?mol(-1), respectively, and the magnetization approaches saturation of 49,800?emuOe?mol(-1) at 90,000?Oe. In contrast, the bonding via bridging cyanides between the ferrimagnetic layers leads to antiferromagnetic coupling, and 3D structured 1 has a different magnetic behavior to 2. Thus, 1 is a Prussian blue analogue with an antiferromagnetic ground state [T(c) = 27?K from d(χT)/dT].  相似文献

Formation kinetics of the metal-metal bonded [(CN)(5)PtTl(CN)(3)](3)(-) complex from Pt(CN)(4)(2)(-) and Tl(CN)(4)(-) has been studied in the pH range of 5-10, using standard mix-and-measure spectrophotometric technique at pH 5-8 and stopped-flow method at pH > 8. The overall order of the reaction, Pt(CN)(4)(2)(-) + Tl(CN)(4)(-) right harpoon over left harpoon [(CN)(5)PtTl(CN)(3)](3)(-), is 2 in the slightly acidic region and 3 in the alkaline region, which means first order for the two reactants in both cases and also for CN(-) at high pH. The two-term rate law corresponds to two different pathways via the Tl(CN)(3) and Tl(CN)(4)(-) complexes in acidic and alkaline solution, respectively. The two complexes are in fast equilibrium, and their actual concentration ratio is controlled by the concentration of free cyanide ion. The following expression was derived for the pseudo-first-order rate constant of the overall reaction: k(obs) = (k(1)(a)[Tl(CN)(4)(-) + (k(1)(a)/K(f)))(1/(1 + K(p)[H(+)]))[CN(-)](free) + k(1)(b)[Tl(CN)(4)(-)] + (k(1)(b)/K(f)), where k(1)(a) and k(1)(b) are the forward rate constants for the alkaline and slightly acidic paths, K(f) is the stability constant of [(CN)(5)PtTl(CN)(3)](3)(-), and K(p) is the protonation constant of cyanide ion. k(1)(a) = 143 +/- 13 M(-)(2) s(-)(1), k(1)(b) = 0.056 +/- 0.004 M(-)(1) s(-)(1), K(f) = 250 +/- 54 M(-)(1), and log K(p) = 9.15 +/- 0.05 (I = 1 M NaClO(4), T = 298 K). Two possible mechanisms were postulated for the overall reaction in both pH regions, which include a metal-metal bond formation step and the coordination of the axial cyanide ion to the platinum center. The alternative mechanisms are different in the sequence of these steps.  相似文献

The mechanisms of the reaction of H2XN (X = C, Si) with NO were studied at the level CCSD(T)/aug-cc-PVTZ//B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p). The results indicate that there are two most favorable reaction pathways in the reaction H2CN + NO that have similar energy barriers; these two pathways lead to the formation of HCN + HNO (P1) and H2CO + N2 (P3), with the calculated barriers 11.1 and 10.2 kcal/mol, respectively, with respect to the reactants (H2CN + NO). In the reaction H2SiN + NO the difference of the barriers in these two analogous pathways becomes large, and the preferable pathway shifts to the production of H2SiO + N2 (P3s), which has no barrier with respect to the reactants (H2SiN + NO). A direct reduction of NO into a stable and nontoxic nitrogen molecule with no energy input becomes possible. As a consequence, H2SiN might be an effective reagent to convert the reactive and toxic NO into a benign gas N2 in several NO-producing combustion systems. We offer a possible explanation of the differences between H2CN and H2SiN toward NO as well as the calculated potential energies for these reactions.  相似文献

The heteropolynuclear complexes [Pd(2)M'(2)(mu-pz)(6)] (M'=Ag (1), Au (2); pzH=pyrazole), HT-[Pd(2)M'(2)(mu-3-tBupz)(6)] (M'=Ag (3 a), Au (4 a); 3-tBupzH=3-tert-butylpyrazole), and HH-[Pd(2)Au(2)(mu-3-tBupz)(6)] (4 b) have been prepared and some of them were structurally characterized. When 3-tert-butylpyrazolate was employed as a bridging ligand, two linkage isomers (head-to-tail (HT) and head-to-head (HH)) arise from the difference in orientation of the substituent groups on the pyrazolate bridges between the two Pd atoms. (1)H NMR spectroscopy has been used to identify and to follow the reversible stereochemical rearrangement of the HH isomer of [Pd(2)Ag(2)(mu-3-tBupz)(6)] (3 b) to form the HT isomer 3 a in CDCl(3) and the HT isomer of [Pd(2)Au(2)(mu-3-tBupz)(6)] (4 a) to form the HH isomer 4 b in C(6)D(6). Kinetic studies of the reaction have established the rate law to be -d(HH)/dt=d(HT)/dt=k(2)[HH]-k(1)[HT] for 3 b and -d(HT)/dt=d(HH)/dt=k(1)[HT]-k(2)[HH] for 4 a, where k(1) and k(2) denote the rate of isomerization from the HT to the HH isomer and that from the HH to the HT isomer, respectively. For typical runs at 50 degrees C in C(6)D(6), k(1)=13.8x10(-5) s(-1), k(2)=18.6x10(-5) s(-1), and K(eq)=k(2)/k(1)=1.24 for 3 b, and k(1)=1.26x10(-5) s(-1), k(2)=3.52x10(-5) s(-1), and K(eq)=k(1)/k(2)=0.36 for 4 a. Temperature-dependent rate measurements reveal DeltaH(not equal) and DeltaS(not equal) to be 100(1) kJ mol(-1) and 0(3) J mol(-1) K(-1) for 3 b and 112(5) kJ mol(-1) and 20(17) J mol(-1) K(-1) for 4 a, respectively. The rate of isomerization is essentially unaffected by the concentration of the complex or by the presence of neutral bridging ligands. These data and observations imply that the isomerization involves an intramolecular exchange process.  相似文献

The reaction for CH3CH2+N(4S) was studied by ab initio method. The geometries of the reactants, intermediates, transition states and products were optimized at MP2/6-311+G(d,p) level. The corresponding vibration frequencies were calculated at the same level. The single point calculations for all the stationary points were carried out at the QCISD(T)/ 6-311+G(d,p) level using the MP2/6-311+G(d,p) optimized geometries. The results of the theoretical study indicate that the major products are the CH2CH2+3NH and H2CN+CH3, and the minor products are the CH3CHN+H in the reaction. The majority of the products CH2CH2+3NH are formed via a direct hydrogen abstraction channel. The products H2CN+CH3 are produced via an addition/dissociation channel. The products CH3CHN+H are produced via an addition/dissociation channel.  相似文献

The atomic structure of a carbon nanotube can be defined by the chiral indices, (n,m), that specify its perimeter vector (chiral vector), with which the diameter and helicity are also determined. The fine electron beam available in a modern Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) offers a unique and powerful probe to reveal the atomic structure of individual nanotubes. This article covers two aspects related to the use of the electron probe in the TEM for the study of carbon nanotubes: (i) to express the electron diffraction intensity distribution in the electron diffraction patterns of carbon nanotubes and (ii) to obtain the chiral indices (n,m) of carbon nanotubes from their electron diffraction patterns. For a nanotube of given chiral indices (n,m), the electron scattering amplitude from the carbon nanotube can be expressed analytically in closed form using the helical diffraction theory, from which its electron diffraction pattern can be calculated and understood. The reverse problem, i.e., assignment of the chiral indices (n,m) of a carbon nanotube from its electron diffraction pattern, is approached from the relationship between the electron diffraction intensity distribution and the chiral indices (n,m). The first method is to obtain indiscriminately the chiral indices (n,m) by reading directly the intensity distribution on the three principal layer lines, l(1), l(2), and l(3), which have intensities proportional to the square of the Bessel functions of orders m, n, and n + m: I(l1) proportional, variant |J(m) (pidR)|(2), I(l2) proportional, variant |J(n) (pidR)|(2), and I(l3) proportional, variant |J(n+m) (pidR)|(2). The second method is to obtain and use the ratio of the indices n/m = (2D(1)-D(2))/(2D(2)-D(1)) in which D(1) and D(2) are the spacings of principal layer lines l(1) and l(2), respectively. Examples of using these methods are also illustrated in the determination of chiral indices of isolated individual single-walled carbon nanotubes, a bundle of single-walled carbon nanotubes, and multi-walled carbon nanotubes.  相似文献
