Basic tools that describe the energy and angular distributions of photoelectrons emitted by inhomogeneous targets are presented. These are the functions of reflection and transmission, the function of photoelectron emission, the equation for photoelectron flow, and the equation for the transmission function, which describes the dynamics of the angular and energy spectra of photoelectrons when they move in the tar-get. The determining influence of the effects of multiple elastic scattering on the angular distribution of photoelectrons is shown. It is demonstrated in which way and by how much the effect of brightness body rotation, well known in optics, influences the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy signal. Along with analytical solutions, the results of simulation of the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy signals are presented.  相似文献

本文利用密度矩阵理论和Racah代数推导出了光电子角分布的一般计算公式, 并在多组态Dirac-Fock方法基础上发展了计算原子光电离过程中产生的光电子角分布的相对论程序, 利用该程序对氖原子2s和2p光电子角分布的偶极和非偶极参数进行了具体计算, 所得结果与已有文献具有很好的一致性. 在此基础上, 本文讨论了光子与电子相互作用多级展开中的非偶极项以及入射光的极化性质对光电子角分布的影响.  相似文献

The angular distributions of photoelectrons emitted from Cu, Ag and Au foils irradiated by Al Kα X-rays along the surface normal have been measured over a wide range of polar emission angles for different photoelectron lines. The experimental results are compared with analytical predictions based on a solution of the kinetic equation in the transport approximation, and satisfactory agreement is observed. The angular dependence of the photoelectron line intensity has been found to be less anisotropic than that of the differential photoelectric cross section. This effect is due to the elastic collisions that photoelectrons suffer on their way out of the target, and is more pronounced for samples with a high atomic number.  相似文献

Using the transport theory approach, equations are derived for the angular dependence of XPS intensities from semi-infinite solids taking into account elastic scattering of photoelectrons and non-dipolar transitions up the second-order corrections. The unpolarized excitation source is considered. The elastic scattering is the main term smearing the non-dipolar contribution in complete analogy with smearing of dipole contribution. Some additional terms are shown to be negligible in comparison with the main term for complete sets of emission and azimuth angles, three representative single scattering albedo values and several representative sets of the second-order non-dipolar parameters. The photoelectron angular distributions are calculated for Al 2s and Ag 3d lines using transport theory and Monte-Carlo simulation. The Monte-Carlo calculations are in agreement with transport theory approach.  相似文献

By developing a full quantum scattering theory of high-order above-threshold ionization,we study the energy spectra and the angular distributions of photoelectrons from atoms with intense laser fields shining on them.We find that real rescattering can occur many times,and even infinite times.The photoelectrons from the rescattering process form a broad plateau in the kinetic-energy spectrum.We further disclose a multiple-plateau structure formed by the high-energy photoelectrons,which absorb many photons during the rescattering process.Moreover,we find that both the angular distributions and the kinetic-energy spectra of photoelectrons obey the same scaling law as that for directly emitted photoelectrons.  相似文献

应用三维并行蒙特卡罗程序JMCT, 计算了特征温度分别为1, 3, 5, 8keV的黑体谱X射线入射到铝、二氧化硅、金的表面的背散射光电产额和电子能谱, 并与文献结果进行对比, 验证了程序的正确性, 进而针对系统电磁脉冲(SGEMP)研究中的典型几何结构——金属圆柱腔体, 模拟计算了其在黑体谱X射线照射下的光电输运过程, 用温度为1keV、注量为1J/m2的黑体谱X射线平行照射圆柱腔侧面, 半个侧面发射光电子, 计算得出了和方位角相关的不同面上发射光电子的光电产额、能谱分布和角分布, 结果表明掠入射的X射线会产生更高的光电产额; 光电子的发射角分布都基本符合余弦角分布的规律。  相似文献

利用光电子角分布成像光谱技术原理,以钠原子为例利用双光子共振三光子电离方法研究了从钠原子的4D态双能级电离后所产生的光电子角分布的状态.分析、讨论了多通道电离过程中所产生光电子的干涉效应.分析了光电子的空间角分布各部分的物理意义.结果表明该干涉图谱能够清楚地描绘出光电子能量和空间角分布状态.  相似文献

The angular distributions of X-ray photoelectron peak intensity for (1) a semi-infinite sample, (2) a substrate sample covered with a film, and (3) an overlayer sample are calculated by the Monte-Carlo method. The elastic as well as the inelastic scattering of electrons in a solid is taken into account. In all cases the elastic scattering is shown to have a significant effect on both the absolute value of peak intensity and the angular distribution of photoelectrons. The electron mean free paths without inelastic collisions (λn) calculated using formulas derived without taking account of elastic scattering are shown to differ significantly from the real values. Moreover, the λn values calculated in this way are not physical constants at all, but depend for example on the film thickness and the intervals of photoelectron take-off angles under consideration. The elastic scattering effect is shown capable of explaining some difficulties which arise in the interpretation of experimental data reported in the literature on the basis of expressions derived taking into account only the inelastic interactions of photoelectrons with a solid.  相似文献

A compact invariant expression for the angular distribution of photoelectrons formed as a result of photoionization of axisymmetrically polarized atoms and molecules, including optically active molecules, is derived from the general symmetry considerations and using a recently developed bipolar harmonic reduction technique. In the angular distribution of photoelectrons, as well as in the total photoionization cross section, the dependence on all the geometric parameters is separated completely. The polarization of ionizing radiation can be arbitrary, with the partial polarization being specified by the Stokes parameters. The expression for the angular distribution of photoelectrons escaping from an atomic-molecular system oriented in the first order also determines the structure of the expression for the photoionization cross section of an unpolarized system with allowance for the spin polarization of a photoelectron or a photoion with the spin 1/2. The roles played by circular dichroism, chirality, etc., in the process of photoionization of oriented and aligned systems are analyzed in detail.  相似文献

We present photoelectron measurements from argon ionization at 10(19) W/cm(2). Photoelectrons with energies above 400 keV, including a 1.2 MeV cutoff, are in quantitative agreement with a semiclassical, relativistic 3D ionization model that includes a nonparaxial laser field. L-shell photoelectrons have energies and momentum dominated by the field, including the acceleration out of the focus. Yields and angular distributions at 60 keV come from valence shell ionization by strong fields where rescattering and atomic processes determine photoelectron final states.  相似文献

基于多组态Dirc-Fock方法和密度矩阵理论,给出了原子序列双光双电离光电子角分布的计算表达式,发展了相应的计算程序.利用该程序对Ar原子3p壳层序列双光双电离过程进行了理论研究,给出了光电离的总截面、磁截面、剩余离子取向以及光电子角分布的各向异性参数与入射光子能量的函数关系.结果显示在光电离截面的Cooper极小位置附近取向参数出现极大值,而光电子角分布的各向异性参数在该位置附近出现极小值.进一步给出了33.94和55.34 eV光子能量下序列双光双电离过程中第一步的Ar原子和第二步的Ar^+离子3p壳层光电子角分布,分析了序列双光双电离光电子角分布与单光电离光电子角分布的差异.将计算结果与文献已有的数据进行了比较,具有很好的一致性.本文的研究结果对揭示光与物质相互作用的非线性动力学机制具有重要的参考价值.  相似文献

Recently performed above-threshold ionization (ATI) experiments with noble gases allow the determination of the complete energy and angular distribution of the emitted photoelectrons. In order to simulate such experiments, we have generalized our numerical code for the calculation of ATI spectra in order to achieve a realistic simulation of ATI of the noble gases He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe. Our method is based on an improved version of the strong-field approximation and includes focal averaging. A semiclassical analysis of the dependence of the cutoff law on the photoelectron emission angle is presented. The effects of channel closings on the high-energy spectra are analyzed.  相似文献

The photoelectron elastic scattering effects in XPS are reviewed. Using the transport theory approach and Monte-Carlo calculations as well experimental data, the influence of elastic scattering is demonstrated for the escape probability of the photoelectrons from solids, the intensities from bulk and surface systems, the angular intensity dependence including dipole and quadrupole transitions, attenuation lengths from various definitions, mean escape depths, the path-length distribution of photoelectrons in solids, the overlayer thickness determination, in-depth profiling and photoelectron diffractions patterns from single crystals.  相似文献

The photoelectron angular distributions (PADs) of hydrogen atoms in an intense laser field of linear polarization are studied using the S-matrix theory in the length gauge. The PADs show main lobes along the laser polarization and jet-like structures sticking from the waist of main lobes. Our previous prediction, based on a nonperturbative scattering theory of photoionization developed by Guo et al, showing that the number of jets on one side of PADs may increase by one, three, or other odd numbers and may decrease by one when one more photon is absorbed, is confirmed by this treatment. Within the strong-field approximation, good agreement is obtained between these two quite different treatments. We further study the influence of the Coulomb attraction to PADs, by taking a Coulomb--Volkov state as the continuum state of photoelectrons. We find that under the influence of the Coulomb attraction, the PADs change greatly but the predicted phenomena still appear. This study verifies that the jet-like structures have no relation with the angular momentum of photoelectrons.  相似文献

We address the question of the energy and angular distributions of the photoelectrons ejected from rare gas atoms submitted to ultra-intense infrared laser pulses, with peak intensities I(max) approximately 10(18) W/cm (2). Several unsolved issues regarding the angular distributions of the photoelectrons are analyzed. We believe that our results should help to trigger new investigations.  相似文献

We have studied nondipolar effects in resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization of Xe and have observed an azimuthal dependence of the photoelectron angular distribution on a quadrupole resonance, as well as a very large asymmetry with respect to the direction of the laser propagation close to the resonance, which is understood in terms of interference between dipole- and quadrupole-allowed ionization channels. The observed asymmetry in the photoelectron angular distribution provides insight into the ejection of slow photoelectrons near an ionization threshold.  相似文献

The photoionization cross section of the hydrogen atom irradiated by this laser beam and the angular distribution of photoelectrons are also calculated. A generalized Keldysh model is used to obtain simple analytical expressions for the energy and angular distributions of photoelectrons rescattered by the parent ion. The dependence of the form, absolute magnitude, and interference structure of the distributions on the parameters of the field and atom is investigated. It is shown that even though the semiclassical three-step rescattering model determines correctly the position of the boundaries beyond which the distributions decay rapidly, the model itself is inapplicable near them.  相似文献
