We describe the relationship between closed affine laminations in a punctured surface and some associated hyperbolic structures on certain covers of the punctured surface, which we call covering hyperbolic structures. Further, in analogy with the theory of William Thurston relating the Teichmüller space of a surface to the projective lamination space, we describe a space with points representing affine laminations in a given surface and with other points representing the associated covering hyperbolic structures. Given be a germ of codimension-one singular holomorphic foliation at the origin . We assume that can be desingularized by a certain sequence of punctual blow-ups producing only simple singularities (Definition 1). This case is studied in analogy with the case of Kleinian singularities of complex surfaces. It is proved that is given by a simple poles closed meromorphic 1-form provided that, along the reduction process, the simple singularities exhibit a hyperbolic transverse type (Theorem 3). In the non-hyperbolic case, we prove the existence of a formal integrating factor if we interdict the existence of holomorphic first integrals for the transverse types (Theorem 4). The proof relies strongly on a result of Deligne regarding the fundamental group of the complement of algebraic curves in the complex projective plane.  相似文献

We construct two invariants for a pair of transverse one-dimensional foliations on the plane. If the set of separatrices is Hausdorff in the space of leaves, the invariant is a distinguished graph. In case there are a finite number of separatrices the invariant is an indexed link.  相似文献

We study smooth foliations on the solid torus S1×D2S1×D2 having S1×{0}S1×{0} and S1×∂D2S1×D2 as the only compact leaves and S1×{0}S1×{0} as singular set. We show that all other leaves can only be cylinders or planes, and give necessary conditions for the foliation to be a suspension of a diffeomorphism of the disc.  相似文献

We use branched surfaces to define an equivalence relation on C1 codimension one foliations of any closed orientable 3-manifold that are transverse to some fixed nonsingular flow. There is a discrete metric on the set of equivalence classes with the property that foliations that are sufficiently close (up to equivalence) share important topological properties.  相似文献

Let E(1)p denote the rational elliptic surface with a single multiple fiber fp of multiplicity p. We construct an infinite family of homologous non-isotopic symplectic tori representing the primitive 2-dimensional homology class [fp] in E(1)p when p>1. As a consequence, we get infinitely many non-isotopic symplectic tori in the fiber class of the rational elliptic surface . We also show how these tori can be non-isotopically embedded as homologous symplectic submanifolds in other symplectic 4-manifolds.  相似文献

This work solves the problem of elaborating Ganea and Whitehead definitions for the tangential category of a foliated manifold. We develop these two notions in the category S-Top of stratified spaces, that are topological spaces X endowed with a partition F and compare them to a third invariant defined by using open sets. More precisely, these definitions apply to an element (X,F) of S-Top together with a class A of subsets of X; they are similar to invariants introduced by M. Clapp and D. Puppe.If (X,F)∈S-Top, we define a transverse subset as a subspace A of X such that the intersection SA is at most countable for any SF. Then we define the Whitehead and Ganea LS-categories of the stratified space by taking the infimum along the transverse subsets. When we have a closed manifold, endowed with a C1-foliation, the three previous definitions, with A the class of transverse subsets, coincide with the tangential category and are homotopical invariants.  相似文献

The Bott class of transversely holomorphic foliations is studied. We first introduce a formula which relates the Bott class and the Godbillon-Vey class. Then a ‘localizable part’ of the Bott class is defined. It is indeed localizable and written in terms of the Godbillon measure studied by Heitsch and Hurder. The above-mentioned formula is reviewed in terms of localizable parts. Finally, complex codimension-one foliations are considered. A version of residue is introduced and it is shown that the Bott class is ‘localized’ near the Julia set in the sense of Ghys-Gomez-Mont-Saludes. Some examples of calculation of the residue are presented.  相似文献

A singular foliation on a complete Riemannian manifold is said to be Riemannian if each geodesic that is perpendicular at one point to a leaf remains perpendicular to every leaf it meets. The singular foliation is said to admit sections if each regular point is contained in a totally geodesic complete immersed submanifold that meets every leaf orthogonally and whose dimension is the codimension of the regular leaves. A typical example of such a singular foliation is the partition by orbits of a polar action, e.g. the orbits of the adjoint action of a compact Lie group on itself.We prove that a singular Riemannian foliation with compact leaves that admits sections on a simply connected space has no exceptional leaves, i.e., each regular leaf has trivial normal holonomy. We also prove that there exists a convex fundamental domain in each section of the foliation and in particular that the space of leaves is a convex Coxeter orbifold.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the instability of harmonic foliations on compact submanifolds immersed in Euclidean spaces and compact homogeneous spaces. We obtain a sufficient condition for a harmonic foliation to be unstable on compact submanifolds in a Euclidean space and on compact isotropy irreducible homogeneous spaces. We also classify compact symmetric spaces which have no non-trivial stable harmonic foliation.  相似文献

We study the existence of traveling wave solutions for reaction-diffusion equations with nonlocal delay, where reaction terms are not necessarily monotone. The existence of traveling wave solutions for reaction-diffusion equations with nonlocal delays is obtained by combining upper and lower solutions for associated integral equations and the Schauder fixed point theorem.
