It is well known that certain isotopy classes of oseudo-Anosov maos on a Riemann surface S of non-excluded type can be defined through Dehn twists tα and tβ along simple closed geodesics α and β on S,respectively. Let G be the corresponding Fuchsian group acting on the hyperbolic plane H so that H/G≌S.For any point α∈S,define S = S/{α}.In this article, the author gives explicit parabolic elements of G from which he constructs pseudo-Anosov classes on S that can be projected to a given pseudo-Anosov class on S obtained from Thurston's construction.  相似文献

Let T = U|T| be the polar decomposition of a bounded linear operator T on a Hilbert space. The transformation T = |T|^1/2 U|T|^1/2 is called the Aluthge transformation and Tn means the n-th Aluthge transformation. Similarly, the transformation T(*)=|T*|^1/2 U|T*|&1/2 is called the *-Aluthge transformation and Tn^(*) means the n-th *-Aluthge transformation. In this paper, firstly, we show that T(*) = UV|T^(*)| is the polar decomposition of T(*), where |T|^1/2 |T^*|^1/2 = V||T|^1/2 |T^*|^1/2| is the polar decomposition. Secondly, we show that T(*) = U|T^(*)| if and only if T is binormal, i.e., [|T|, |T^*|]=0, where [A, B] = AB - BA for any operator A and B. Lastly, we show that Tn^(*) is binormal for all non-negative integer n if and only if T is centered, and so on.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider some classes of 2π-periodic convolution functions Bp, and Kp with kernels having certain oscillation properties, which include the classical Sobolev class as special case. By employing the generalized Riccati transformation technique, we will establish some new oscillation criteria and study the asymptotic behavior of the nonoscillatory solutions of the second-order nonlinear neutral delay dynamic equation
, on a time scale . The results improve some oscillation results for neutral delay dynamic equations and in the special case when = ℝ our results cover and improve the oscillation results for second-order neutral delay differential equations established by Li and Liu [Canad. J. Math., 48 (1996), 871–886]. When = ℕ, our results cover and improve the oscillation results for second order neutral delay difference equations established by Li and Yeh [Comp. Math. Appl., 36 (1998), 123–132]. When =hℕ, = {t: t = q k , k ∈ ℕ, q > 1}, = ℕ2 = {t 2: t ∈ ℕ}, = = {t n = Σ k=1 n , n ∈ ℕ0}, ={t 2: t ∈ ℕ}, = {√n: n ∈ ℕ0} and ={: n ∈ ℕ0} our results are essentially new. If denotes the polar decomposition of a bounded linear operator T, then the Aluthge transform of T is defined to be the operator . In this note we study the relationship between the Aluthge transform and the class of complex symmetric operators (T iscomplex symmetric if there exists a conjugate-linear, isometric involution so that T = CT*C). In this note we prove that: (1) the Aluthge transform of a complex symmetric operator is complex symmetric, (2) if T is complex symmetric, then and are unitarily equivalent, (3) if T is complex symmetric, then if and only if T is normal, (4) if and only if T 2 = 0, and (5) every operator which satisfies T 2 = 0 is necessarily complex symmetric. Let π and π' be automorphic irreducible cuspidal representations of GLm(QA) and GLm′ (QA), respectively, and L(s, π×π′) be the Rankin-Selberg L-function attached to π and π'. Without assuming the Generalized Ramanujan Conjecture (GRC), the author gives the generalized prime number theorem for L(s, π × π′) when π =π'. In this paper, we investigate compactly supported Riesz multiwavelet sequences and Riesz multiwavelet bases for L 2(ℝ s ). In this paper we mainly study the derivations for even part of the finite-dimensional odd Hamiltonian superalgebra HO over a field of prime characteristic. We first give the generating set of the even part g of HO. Then we compute the derivations from g into the even part m of the generalized Witt superalgebra. Finally, we determine the derivation algebra and outer derivation algebra of and the dimension formulas. In particular, the first cohomology groups H^1(g;m) and H^1(g;g) are determined.  相似文献

We study the set of infinitely differentiable periodic functions in terms of generalized -derivatives defined by a pair of sequences ψ 1 and ψ 2. It is proved that if the spectrum and the spectral measure of a unitary operator generated by a semiinfinite block Jacobi matrix J(t) vary appropriately, then the corresponding operator J(t) satisfies the generalized Lax equation , where Φ(gl, t) is a polynomial in λ and with t-dependent coefficients and is a skew-symmetric matrix. The operator J(t) is analyzed in the space ℂ ⊕ ℂ2 ⊕ ℂ2 ⊕ …. It is mapped into the unitary operator of multiplication L(t) in the isomorphic space , where . This fact enables one to construct an efficient algorithm for solving the block lattice of differential equations generated by the Lax equation. A procedure that allows one to solve the corresponding Cauchy problem by the inverse-spectral-problem method is presented. The article contains examples of block difference-differential lattices and the corresponding flows that are analogs of the Toda and the van Moerbeke lattices (from the self-adjoint case on ℝ) and some notes about the application of this technique to the Schur flow (the unitary case on and the OPUC theory). New solutions of twist equations for the universal enveloping algebras U (An−1) are found. These solutions can be represented as products of full chains of extended Jordanian twists Abelian factors (“rotations”) , and sets of quasi-Jordanian twists . The latter are generalizations of Jordanian twists (with carrier b2) for special deformed extensions of the Hopf algebra U (b2). The carrier subalgebra for the composition is a nonminimal parabolic subalgebra in A n−1 such that . The parabolic twisting elements are obtained in an explicit form. We study amenability of algebras and modules (based on the notion of almost-invariant finite-dimensional subspace), and apply it to algebras associated with finitely generated groups. We show that a group G is amenable if and only if its group ring G is amenable for some (and therefore for any) field .
