The formation and dissociation rates of some transition metal(II) and lanthanide(III) complexes of the 1,7,13-triaza-4,10,16-trioxacyclooctadecane N',N',N'-triacetic acid (1) and 1,7,13-triaza-4,10,16-trioxacyclooctadecane-N',N',N'- trimethylacetic acid (2) have been measured by the use of stopped-flow and conventional spectrophotometry. Experimental observations were made at 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C and at an ionic strength of 0.10 M KCl. The complexation of Zn(2+) and Cu(2+) ions with 1 and 2 proceeds through the formation of an intermediate complex (MH(3)L(+) *) in which the metal ion is incompletely coordinated. This may then lead to a final product in the rate-determining step. Between pH 4.68 and 5.55, the diprotonated (H(2)L(-)) form is revealed to be a kinetically active species despite its low concentration. The stability constants (log K (MH (3)L (+) *)) and specific base-catalyzed rate constants (k(OH)) of intermediate complexes have been determined from the kinetic data. The dissociation reactions of 1 and 2 complexes of Co(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Ce(3+), Eu(3+) and Yb(3+) were investigated with Cu(2+) ions as a scavenger in acetate buffer. All complexes exhibit acid-independent and acid-catalyzed contributions. The buffer and Cu(2+) concentration dependence on the dissociation rate has also been investigated. The metal and ligand effects on the dissociation rate of some transition metal(II) and lanthanide(III) complexes are discussed in terms of the ionic radius of the metal ions, the side-pendant arms and the rigidity of the ligands.  相似文献

The ternary piroxicam (Pir; 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl)-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxamide 1,1-dioxide) complexes of Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with various amino acids (AA) such as glycine (Gly) or DL-phenylalanine (PhA) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, IR, UV-Vis, magnetic moment, diffuse reflectance and X-ray powder diffraction. The UV-Vis spectra of Pir and the effect of metal chelation on the different interligand transitions are discussed in detailed manner. IR and UV-Vis spectra confirm that Pir behaves as a neutral bidentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridine-N and carbonyl group of the amide moiety. Gly molecule acted as a uninegatively monodentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its carboxylic group, in addition PhA acted as a uninegatively bidentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its carboxylic and amino groups. All the chelates have octahedral geometrical structures while Cu(II)- and Zn(II)-ternary chelates with PhA have square planar geometrical structures. The molar conductance data reveal that most of these chelates are non electrolytes, while Fe(III)-Pir-Gly, Co(II)-, Ni(II)-, Cu(II)- and Zn(II)-Pir-PhA chelates were 1:1 electrolytes. X-ray powder diffraction is used as a new tool to estimate the crystallinity of chelates as well as to elucidate their geometrical structures.  相似文献

A macrocyclic ligand, bdta (where bdta=3,6,9,12,15,18-hexaaza-1,2,10,11-tetraphenyl-2,9,11,18-tetraenecyclododecane) has been prepared by cyclocondensation of benzil with diethylenetriamine which efficiently encapsulates transition as well as pseudo-transition metal ions leading to the formation of M(bdta)Cl2 type complexes [where M=Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)]. The analytical, spectroscopic and magnetic moment data suggests an octahedral geometry for all the complexes. EPR spectra of Mn(II) and Cu(II) show considerable exchange interaction in the complex. They are non-conducting in DMSO. The TGA profile of the ligand and its complexes are identical and consists of two discreet stages. The voltammogram of Cu-complex exhibits a quasi-reversible one-electron transfer wave for Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple.  相似文献

Polychelates of Mn(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅱ), Co(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) with the bis salen-type ligand derived from 4,4'-bis[(salicylaldehyde-5)azo]biphenyl and 1,4-diaminobutane have been synthesized. All the polychelalls have been characllrized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic spectra and thennogravirncuic studies. All the complexes isolated in solid stall are dark coloured and insoluble in water and common organic solvents. The ligand behaves as a bis-bidentall molecule coordinating through the phenolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen atoms. The thermal decomposition of these metal complexes was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis and data have been analyzed for kinetic parameters using Broido equation. The solid-state electrical conductivity of the ligand and its polychelalls in the form of compressed pellet was studied in the temperaturc range from 313 to 413 K All the polychelalls were found to show semiconducting nature. The Mn(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅱ), Co(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) polychelalls have been assessed for the catalytic epoxidation of styrene.  相似文献

New metal complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with salicylidine-2-aminobenzimidazole (SABI) are synthesized and their physicochemical properties are investigated using elemental and thermal analyses, IR, conductometric, solid reflectance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The base reacts with these metal ions to give 1:1 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in cases of Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions; and 1:2 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in case of Ni(II) ion. The conductance data reveal that Fe(III) complex is 2:1 electrolyte, Co(II) is 1:2 electrolyte, Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes while Ni(II) is non-electrolyte. IR spectra showed that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate mannar with O, N, N donor sites of the phenloic -OH, azomethine -N and benzimidazole -N3. Magnetic and solid reflectance spectra are used to infer the coordinating capacity of the ligand and the geometrical structure of these complexes. The thermal decomposition of the complexes is studied and indicates that not only the coordinated and/or crystallization water is lost but also that the decomposition of the ligand from the complexes is necessary to interpret the successive mass loss. The ternary chelates of piroxicam (Pir) and tenoxicam (Ten) with Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) in the presence of various amino acids such as glycine (Gly) or dl-phenylalanine (PhA) were prepared and characterized with different physicochemical methods. IR spectra confirm that Pir and Ten behave as a neutral bidentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridine-N and carbonyl group of the amide moiety. Gly molecule acted as a uninegatively monodentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its deprotonated carboxylic group. In addition, PhA acted as a uninegatively bidentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its deprotonated carboxylic and amino groups. The solid reflectance spectra and magnetic moment measurements confirm that all the chelates have octahedral geometrical structures while Cu(II)- and Zn(II)-ternary chelates with PhA have square planar geometrical structures. Thermal behaviour of the complexes is extensively studied using TG and DTA techniques. TG results show that water molecules (hydrated and coordinated) and anions are removed in the first and second steps while Gly, PhA, Pir and Ten are decomposed in the next and subsequent steps. The pyrolyses of the chelates into different gases are observed in the DTA curves as exo- or endothermic peaks. Also, phase transition states are observed in some chelates. Different thermodynamic parameters are calculated using Coats-Redfern method and the results are interpreted.  相似文献

Four silica gel-immobilized new metal chelate Schiff(,)s bases were synthesized (I-IV). Silica gel chemically bonded diethylenetriamine mono-naphthaldehyde and mono-salicyaldehyde Schiff's bases (phases I and III) were produced via the interaction of silica gel-modified diethylenetriamine with naphthaldehyde and salicylaldehyde, respectively. However, phases II and IV arose through the interaction of bis-naphthaldehyde and bis-salicylaldehyde Schiff(,)s bases of diethylenetriamine with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane modified silica gel. The characterization of such new phases, their capabilities towards selective extraction or separation of Fe(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions were studied and evaluated by both batch and column techniques as a function of pH and time of contact. Phases III and I showed high performance towards Cu(II) extraction, where their Cu(II) sorption determined to be 0.957 and 0.940 mmol g(-1), respectively. However, for phases IV and II, the great affinity was devoted to Fe(III) extraction followed by Cu(II) ions. The reactivity of metal ion sorption was discussed in the light of effects of bulkiness as well as orientation of immobilized chelate on sorbent reactivity. Donor sites of phases III and I (diethylenetriamine and azomethene nitrogens along with phenolic hydroxyl group oxygen) are fully active, whereas phases IV and II are partially active with only participation of oxygen and azomethene nitrogen. The large scale electrolysis of Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Co(III), Fe(II), Mn(II), Cr(II), Cr(III), Bi(III), In(III) and Sb(III) at mercury electrodes in presence of mercaptoacetic acid, 3-mercaptopropionic acid, cysteine and thiourea was carried out and the products were investigated. In case of transition metal ions the catalytic reduction of organic compounds resulting in the formation of sulphide ions was found. There are two possible ways of the production of these ions: (i) consisting in the formation of a complex between transition metal ion and organic ligand which is subsequently, reduced, and (ii) direct electroreduction of organic compound on the electrode modifiied by the deposition of metal and metal sulphide. Summary A method is described for functionalizing acetoacetamide chelating groups onto microcrystalline cellulose (Cell-AcAc). This material shows a significant affinity for Fe(III), Cu(II) and U(VI) and no or very less affinity for the M(I) ions (M=Na, K), M(II) ions (M= Mg, Ca; Fe, Co, Ni, Zn), La(III) and Y(III) including Th(IV). The obtained K d values offer a column separation method for U(VI) ions from the rest of above-mentioned metal ions except Fe(III). Cell-AcAc and its Cu(II) complexes are characterized by means of FT-IR spectra.
Darstellung, Charakterisierung und Anwendung von Ionenaustauschmaterial aus Cellulose mit chemisch gebundener Acetoacetamid-Gruppe
Zusammenfassung Die Darstellung von immobilisiertem Acetoacetamid auf mikrokristallinem Cellulosepulver (Cell-AcAc) wird beschrieben. Der Ionenaustauscher Cell-AcAc hat eine ausgeprägte Affinität für Fe(III), Cu(II) and U(VI), aber nahezu keine für die M(I)-Ionen (M=Na, K) M(II)-Ionen (M=Mg, Ca; Fe, Co, Ni, Zn), La(III), Y(III) sowie Th(IV). Die erhaltenen K d-Werte ermöglichen für U(VI)-Ionen eine quantitative säulen-chromatographische Trennung von den anderen genannten Kationen mit Ausnahme von Fe(III). Das Ionenaustauschmaterial Cell-AcAc und sein Cu(II)-Komplex wurden durch FT-IR-Spektren charakterisiert.

Protonation constant of an unsymmetrical Schiff base, salicylidene(N-benzoyl)glycyl hydrazone (SalBzGH), and formation constants of its complexes have been determined potentiometrically at different temperatures in aqueous dioxane medium. Complexes of SalBzGH with VO(IV), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) have been prepared. Elemental analyses, pH-metric, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, IR, ESR, XRD (powder) and NMR studies have been carried out to study the coordination behaviour of SalBzGH toward these metal ions. pH-metric and 1H NMR studies show the presence of two dissociable protons in the ligand. IR and NMR spectra suggest the tridentate nature of the ligand, coordinating as a uninegative species in the Mn(II) complex and as a dinegative species in all the other complexes. Presence of two different conformers of the ligand at room temperature and stabilization of a single conformer upon complex formation have been established from1H NMR spectra of the metal-free ligand, Zn(II) and Hg(II) complexes recorded at 296 K. Electronic and ESR spectra indicate highly distorted tetragonal geometry for VO(IV) and Cu(II) complexes. XRD powder patterns of the Zn(II) complexes are indexed for an orthorhombic crystal system.  相似文献

A formaldehyde‐assisted metal–ligand crosslinking strategy is used for the synthesis of metal–phenolic coordination spheres based on sol–gel chemistry. A range of mono‐metal (Co, Fe, Al, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ce), bi‐metal (Fe‐Co, Co‐Zn) and multi‐metal (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Cu‐Zn) species can be incorporated into the frameworks of the colloidal spheres. The formation of coordination spheres involves the pre‐crosslinking of plant polyphenol (such as tannic acid) by formaldehyde in alkaline ethanol/water solvents, followed by the aggregation assembly of polyphenol oligomers via metal–ligand crosslinking. The coordination spheres can be used as sensors for the analysis of nucleic acid variants with single‐nucleotide discrimination, and a versatile precursor for electrode materials with high electrocatalytic performance.  相似文献

A poly[styrene-co-(divinylbenzene)] resin (XAD-4) functionalized with 1-hydrazinophthalazine ligand has been prepared and its analytical properties investigated. The pH dependence of sorption of metal ion on the resin has been determined for Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Fe(III) and Cr(III). Trace amounts of these metal ions were quantitatively retained on the resin and recovered by eluting with 1 mol l(-1) hydrochloric acid. The resin was found to be selective for Fe(III) and its separation from other metal ions was carried out effectively. Metal ions concentrations were determined using AAS.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new polydentate ligand 2-(N),2'-(N')-bis[2-(3-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-pyridin-1-yl)acetamido]-1(N'),2(N),2'(N')-trimethyl-2,2'-diaminodiethylamine (L3) is reported. The coordination properties of L3 and of two analogous macrocyclic ligands (L1 and L2) toward Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal ions are reported. All three ligands show the 3-hydroxy-2(1H)-pyridinone (HPO) groups attached as sidearms to a polyaza fragment, which is a macrocyclic framework in the case of L1 and L2 while it is an open chain in the case of L3. The role of the polyaza fragments in preorganizing the two sidearms was investigated. The basicity of L3 and the binding properties of L1-L3 were determined by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solution (298.1 +/- 0.1 K, I = 0.15 mol dm(-3)). UV-vis spectra as well 1H and 13C NMR experiments were used to understand the role of the HPO and of the polyaza fragments in the stabilization of the cations. While L1 forms stable mono- and dinuclear complexes, L2 and L3 can form only mononuclear species with each of the metal ions investigated. In the main mononuclear species of L2 and L3, the two HPO moieties stabilize the M(II) in a square planar geometry due to the two oxygen atoms of each HPO. The coordination sphere of the metal is completed by adding a secondary ligand such as water molecules in the case of Cu(II) systems or OH- in the Zn(II) systems. These results are confirmed by the crystal structures of the [CuH(-1)L2]+ and [CuH(-1)L3]+ species reported herein. Two conformations of L1 can be hypothesized in the formation of the dinuclear species, as suggested by NMR experiments on the [ZnH(-2)L1] species, which shows two conformers slowly interchanging on the NMR time scale, one of which was found to be more insoluble.  相似文献

The novel transition metal saccharinato complexes of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-ethylendiamine (HydEt-en) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic moments, UV-Vis and IR spectra. Coordination behaviour of HydEt-en has been studied. The Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) form mononuclear complexes, while the Fe(II) and Co(II) complexes are dimeric. The crystal structures of the [Cu(sac)2(HydEt-en)2] and [Cd(sac)2(HydEt-en)2] complexes, where sac is the deprotonated form of saccharin, were determined by x-ray diffraction. The metal ions are octahedrally coordinated by these ligands. The amine ligand acts as a bidentate N-donor ligand and its ethanol group is not involved in coordination. The sac ions coordinate through the deprotonated N as a monodentate ligand. The NH and OH groups of the amine ligand are involved in intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding with the carbonyl and sulphonyl oxygens of the sac ions to form a three-dimensional infinite network.  相似文献

Fourteen different ligands have been synthesized with two covalently linked 8-hydroxyquinoline motifs that favor metal complexation. These bis-chelators include different bridges at the C2 positions and different substituents to modulate their physicochemical properties. They can form metal complexes in a ratio of one ligand per metal ion with Cu II and Zn II, two metal ions involved in the formation of amyloid aggregates of the toxic Abeta-peptides in the Alzheimer disease. The apparent affinity of all bis-8-hydroxyquinoline ligands for Cu II and Zn II are similar with logK Cu II approximately 16 and logK Zn II approximately 13 and are 10,000 times more efficient than for the corresponding 8-hydroxyquinoline monomers. Their strong chelating capacities allow them to inhibit more efficiently than the corresponding monomers the precipitation of Abeta-peptides induced by Cu II and Zn II and also to inhibit the toxic formation of H2O2 due to copper complexes of Abeta. The best results were obtained with a one-atom linker between the two quinoline units. X-ray analyses of single-crystals of Cu II, Zn II or Ni II complexes of 2,2'-(2,2-propanediyl)-bis(8-hydroxyquinoline), including a one-atom linker, showed that all heteroatoms of the bis-8-hydroxyquinoline ligand chelate the same metal ion in a distorted square-planar geometry. The Cu II and Zn II complexes include a fifth axial ligand and are pentacoordinated.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pd(II) and UO2(II) chelates of 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthalenol (TAN) were reported. The dissociation constants of the ligand and the stability constants of the metal complexes were calculated pH-metrically at 25 degrees C and 0.1 M ionic strength. The solid complexes were characterized by elemental and thermal analyses, molar conductance, IR, magnetic and diffuse reflectance spectra. The complexes were found to have the formulae [M(L)2] for M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); [M(L)X].nH2O for M = Cu(II) (X = AcO, n = 3), Pd(II) (X = Cl, n = 0) and UO2(II) (X = NO3, n = 0), and [Fe(L)Cl2(H2O)].2H2O. The molar conductance data reveal that the chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with ONN donor sites of the naphthyl OH, azo N and thiazole N. An octahedral structure is proposed for Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and UO2(II) complexes and a square planar structure for Cu(II) and Pd(II) complexes. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that water molecules (coordinated and hydrated) and anions are removed in two successive steps followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand molecule in the subsequent steps. The relative thermal stability of the chelates is evaluated. The final decomposition products are found to be the corresponding metal oxides. The thermodynamic activation parameters, such as E*, delta H*, delta S* and delta G* are calculated from the TG curves.  相似文献

合成并表征了新型水溶性手性Salen 配体(R,R)-N,N’-二{4-[2-(三甲胺基)乙氧基]水杨醛}-1,2-环己二胺二高氯酸盐(L)及金属配合物ML [M=Zn(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Fe(III), Mn(III)]. 讨论了手性配体L及配合物ZnL的电子光谱和圆二色光谱性质, 用UV-Vis光谱滴定和CD光谱滴定法研究了ZnL对手性氨基酸对映异构体的分子识别. 测定了主体ZnL与客体氨基酸轴向配位反应的配位数(n)、缔合常数(K)及热力学函数 测得缔合常数的大小顺序为KPhe>KVal>KThr. 研究发现反应是放热、熵减小的过程. 用凝胶电泳的方法初步研究了此类手性金属配合物在H2O2存在下对DNA的裂解作用.  相似文献
