The notion of “near isomorphism” for torsion-free Abelian groups of finite rank is well known. In particular, this concept turned out to be of importance for classifying almost completely decomposable groups. We extend near isomorphism to classes of torsion-free Abelian groups of infinite rank which are unions of bcd–groups, this is to say unions of groups which are bounded essential extensions of completely decomposable groups. Moreover, we show that nearly isomorphic groups of this class also have nearly isomorphic endomorphism rings considered as Abelian groups.  相似文献

This article is concerned with classes of groups, whose critical groups are minimal non-nilpotent, i.e. all proper subgroups are nilpotent, but the group itself is not. Since the structure of these groups is well known, the structure of the critical groups is determined as well. Thus, in a first part two theorems, which show that the critical groups for certain classes are mini=mal non-nilpotent, are proved. In the second part applications are given, concerning for example groups all of whose second maximal subgroups belong to a given class or describing the structure of groups if you have informations about certain subgroups. Also a number-theoretical characterization of all those ordinary numbers, to which belong only groups with a given ab=stract group-theoretical property, is given.  相似文献

A ring R is unequivocal if for every radical S, either S(R) = 0 or S(R) = R. A complete classification of the additive groups of unequivocal rings, which are not reduced torsion free, is given. The almost completely decomposable torsion free groups which are additive groups of unequivocal rings are also described completely.  相似文献

We consider identity excluding groups. We first show that motion groups of totally disconnected nilpotent groups are identity excluding. We prove that certain class of p-adic algebraic groups which includes algebraic groups whose solvable radical is type R have identity excluding property. We also prove the convergence of averages of representations for some solvable groups which are not necessarily identity excluding.  相似文献

We prove the strong Atiyah conjecture for right-angled Artin groups and right-angled Coxeter groups. More generally, we prove it for groups which are certain finite extensions or elementary amenable extensions of such groups.  相似文献

Since solitary subgroups of (infinite) Abelian groups are precisely the strictly invariant subgroups which are co-Hopfian (as groups), and strictly invariant subgroups turn out to be strongly invariant for large classes of Abelian groups we determine the solitary subgroups for these classes of groups.  相似文献

Topological groups which are free from small subgroups and topological groups with locally uniformly continuous group multiplication are considered. Results concerning square roots, one-parameter subgroups and extensions of local groups are obtained as well as some generalisations of theorems for locally compact groups.  相似文献

We define GP-nuclear groups as topological Abelian groups for which the groups of summable and absolutely summable sequences are the same algebraically and topologically. It is shown that in the metrizable case only the algebraic coincidence of the mentioned groups is needed for GP-nuclearity. Some permanence properties of the class of GP-nuclear groups are obtained. Our final result asserts that nuclear groups in the sense of Banaszczyk are GP-nuclear. The validity of the converse assertion remains open.  相似文献

We have developed Postnikov sections for Brown–Grossman homotopy groups and for Steenrod homotopy groups in the category of exterior spaces, which is an extension of the proper category. The homotopy fibre of a fibration in the factorization associated with Brown–Grossman groups is an Eilenberg–Mac Lane exterior space for this type of groups and it has two non-trivial consecutive Steenrod homotopy groups. For a space which is first countable at infinity, one of these groups is given by the inverse limit of the homotopy groups of the neighbourhoods at infinity, the other group is isomorphic to the first derived of the inverse limit of this system of groups. In the factorization associated with Steenrod groups the homotopy fibre is an Eilenberg–Mac Lane exterior space for this type of groups and it has two non-trivial consecutive Brown–Grossman homotopy groups. We also obtain a mix factorization containing both kinds of previous factorizations and having homotopy fibres which are Eilenberg–Mac Lane exterior spaces for both kinds of groups.Given a compact metric space embedded in the Hilbert cube, its open neighbourhoods provide the Hilbert cube the structure of an exterior space and the homotopy fibres of the factorizations above are Eilenberg–Mac Lane exterior spaces with respect to inward (or approaching) Quigley groups.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the concept of Baer-invariant of a pair of groups with respect to a variety of groups v. Some inequalities for the Baer-invariant of a pair of finite groups are obtained, when v is considered to be the Schur-Baer variety. We also present a condition for which the order of the Baerinvariant of a pair of finite groups divides the order of the Baer-invariant of their factor groups. Finally, some inequalities for the Schur-multiplier of a pair of finite nilpotent groups and their factor groups are given.  相似文献

We give a new proof that compact infra-solvmanifolds with isomorphic fundamental groups are smoothly diffeomorphic. More generally, we prove rigidity results for manifolds which are constructed using affine actions of virtually polycyclic groups on solvable Lie groups. Our results are derived from rigidity properties of subgroups in solvable linear algebraic groups.  相似文献

We represent the coordinate ring of algebraic hulls (which are the fundamental groups of generalizations of the Malcev completions of nilpotent groups for solvable groups) of solvmanifolds G/Γ by using Miller’s exponential iterated integrals (which are extensions of Chen’s iterated integrals) of invariant differential forms.  相似文献

Groups with isomorphic holomorphs are said to be holomorphically isomorphic. The following problems are treated.
  1. What Abelian groups have the property that their holomorphic isomorphism implies the isomorphism of the groups themselves?
  2. Does holomorphic isomorphism of two groups, one of which is Abelian, imply the commutativity of the other group?
Classes of groups are selected for which the answers to these questions are positive.  相似文献

Diffeomorphism groups and loop groups of manifolds on Banach spaces over non-Archimedean fields are defined. Moreover, for these groups, finite-and infinite-dimensional manifolds over the corresponding fields are considered. The group structure, the differential-geometric structure, and also the topological structure of diffeomorphism groups and loops groups are studied. We prove that these groups do not locally satisfy the Campbell-Hausdorff formula. The principal distinctions in the structure for the Archimedean and classical cases are found. The quasi-invariant measures on these groups with respect to dense subgroups are constructed. Stochastic processes on topological transformation groups of manifolds and, in particular, on diffeomorphism groups and on loop groups and also the corresponding transition probabilities are constructed. Regular, strongly continuous, unitary representations of dense subgroups of topological transformation groups of manifolds, in particular, those of diffeomorphism groups and loop groups associated with quasi-invariant measures on groups and also on the corresponding configurational spaces are constructed. The conditions imposed on the measure and groups under which these unitary representations are irreducible are found. The induced representations of topological groups are studied by using quasi-invariant measures on topological groups. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika i Ee Prilozheniya (Contemporary Mathematics and Its Applications), Vol. 39, Functional Analysis, 2006.  相似文献

The article is devoted to the study of groups of diffeomorphisms and wraps of manifolds over ultra-metric fields of zero and positive characteristic. Different types of topologies are considered on groups of wraps and diffeomorphisms relative to which they are generalized Lie groups or topological groups. Among such topologies, pairwise incomparable ones are also found. Topological perfectness of the diffeomorphism group relative to certain topologies is studied. Theorems on projective limit decompositions of these groups and their compactifications for compact manifolds are proved. Moreover, the existence of one-parameter local subgroups of diffeomorphism groups is proved.  相似文献

The optimal sufficient conditions are found for weights, which guarantee the validity of two-weighted inequalities for singular integrals in the Lorentz spaces defined on homogeneous groups. In some particular case, the found conditions are necessary for the corresponding inequalities to be valid. Also, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for pairs of weights, which provide the validity of two-weighted inequalities for the generalized Hardy operator in the Lorentz spaces defined on homogeneous groups.  相似文献

A linking system of difference sets is a collection of mutually related group difference sets, whose advantageous properties have been used to extend classical constructions of systems of linked symmetric designs. The central problems are to determine which groups contain a linking system of difference sets, and how large such a system can be. All previous constructive results for linking systems of difference sets are restricted to 2‐groups. We use an elementary projection argument to show that neither the McFarland/Dillon nor the Spence construction of difference sets can give rise to a linking system of difference sets in non‐2‐groups. We make a connection to Kerdock and bent sets, which provides large linking systems of difference sets in elementary abelian 2‐groups. We give a new construction for linking systems of difference sets in 2‐groups, taking advantage of a previously unrecognized connection with group difference matrices. This construction simplifies and extends prior results, producing larger linking systems than before in certain 2‐groups, new linking systems in other 2‐groups for which no system was previously known, and the first known examples in nonabelian groups.  相似文献

For a locally compact groupG a condition in terms of probability measures and conjugation is introduced, which implies that limits of shifted convolution powers are always translates of idempotent measures. Such groups are called Tortrat groups. The connection between Tortrat groups and shifted convolution powers is established by the method of tail idempotents. Some construction principles for Tortrat groups are given and applied to show that compact groups, abelian groups, and more generally SIN-groups, as well as MAP-groups and almost connected nilpotent groups are of this type. The class of Tortrat groups is compared with another class investigated by A. Tortrat.  相似文献
