Univalent mappings associated with the Roper-Suffridge extension operator   总被引:15,自引:0,他引:15  
The Roper-Suffridge extension operator provides a way of extending a (locally) univalent functionfεH(U) to a (locally) biholomorphic mappingFH(Bn). In this paper, we give a simplified proof of the Roper-Suffridge theorem: iff is convex, then so isF. We also show that iffS *, theF is starlike and that iff is a Bloch function inU, thenF is a Bloch mapping onB n. Finally, we investigate some open problems. Liczberski–Starkov gave a sharp lower bound for DΦn(f)(z) near the origin, where Φn is the Roper–Suffridge extension operator and f is a normalized convex mapping on the unit disk in C. They gave a conjecture that the sharp lower bound holds on the Euclidean unit ball Bn in Cn. In this paper, we will give a sharp lower bound on Bn for a more general extension operator and for normalized univalent mappings f or normalized convex mappings f. We will give a lower bound for mappings f in a linear invariant family. We will also give a similar sharp lower bound on bounded convex complete Reinhardt domains in Cn.  相似文献

   Abstract. Let F be a family of disjoint unit balls in R 3 . We prove that there is a Helly-number n 0 ≤ 46 , such that if every n 0 members of F ( | F | ≥ n 0 ) have a line transversal, then F has a line transversal. In order to prove this we prove that if the members of F can be ordered in a way such that every 12 members of F are met by a line consistent with the ordering, then F has a line transversal. The proof also uses the recent result on geometric permutations for disjoint unit balls by Katchalski, Suri, and Zhou.  相似文献

Some sharp estimates for coefficients, distortion and the growth order are obtained for harmonic mappings $f ∈ TL^α_H$which are locally univalent harmonic mappings in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z:|z| < 1\}$. Moreover, denoting the subclass $TS^α_H$ of the normalized univalent harmonic mappings, we also estimate the growth of $|f|,$ $f ∈ TS^α_H,$ and their covering theorems.  相似文献

We consider the scattering of a plane time-harmonic electromagnetic wave by a perfectly conducting infinite cylinder with axis in the direction k , where k is the unit vector along the z axis. Suppose the incident wave propagates in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder. For a given observation angle θ, let FD(θ, α) k be the far-field pattern of the electric field corresponding to an incident wave with direction angle α polarized perpendicular to the axis and let FN(θ; α) k be the far-field pattern of the magnetic field corresponding to an incident wave with direction angle α polarized parallel to the z axis. Let {αn}n=1 be a distinct set of angles in [ ? π, π] and μ a complex number. Then, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the set {(1 ? μ)FD(θ;αn) + μFN(θ;αn)}n = 1 to be complete in L2[ ? π, π]. Applications, together with numerical examples, are given to the inverse scattering problem of determining the shape of the cylinder from a knowledge of the far-field data.  相似文献

It has been shown by Trudinger and Moser that for normalized functions u of the Sobolev space ??1, N (Ω), where Ω is a bounded domain in ?N, one has ∫Ω exp(αN|u|N/(N ? 1))dxCN, where αN is an explicit constant depending only on N, and CN is a constant depending only on N and Ω. Carleson and Chang proved that there exists a corresponding extremal function in the case that Ω is the unit ball in ?N. In this paper we give a new proof, a generalization, and a new interpretation of this result. In particular, we give an explicit sequence that is maximizing for the above integral among all normalized “concentrating sequences.” As an application, the existence of a nontrivial solution for a related elliptic equation with “Trudinger‐Moser” growth is proved. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

L (F) of pseudovarieties of finite semigroups that attempts to take full advantage of the underlying lattice structure, Auinger, Hall and the present authors recently introduced fourteen complete congruences on L (F). Such congruences provide a framework from which to study L (F) both locally and globally. For each such congruence ρ and each UL (F) the ρ-class of U is an interval [U ρ, U ρ]. This provides a family of operators of the form UUρ on L (F) that reveal important relationships between elements of L (F). Various aspects of these operators are considered including characterizations of U ρ, bases of pseudoidentities for U ρ, instances of commutativity (U ρ)σ = U σ)ρ, as well as the semigroups generated by certain pairs of such operators.  相似文献

Let {F(n)} n N ,{G(n)} n N , be linear recurrent sequences. In this paper we are concerned with the well-known diophantine problem of the finiteness of the set ? of natural numbers n such that F(n)/G(n) is an integer. In this direction we have for instance a deep theorem of van der Poorten; solving a conjecture of Pisot, he established that if ? coincides with N, then {F(n)/G(n)} n N is itself a linear recurrence sequence. Here we shall prove that if ? is an infinite set, then there exists a nonzero polynomial P such that P(n)F(n)/G(n) coincides with a linear recurrence for all n in a suitable arithmetic progression. Examples like F(n)=2 n -2, G(n)=n+2 n +(-2) n , show that our conclusion is in a sense best-possible. In the proofs we introduce a new method to cope with a notorious crucial difficulty related to the existence of a so-called dominant root. In this paper we are concerned with solutions, in particular with univalent solutions, of the Loewner differential equation associated with non-normalized subordination chains on the Euclidean unit ball B n in \mathbbCn{\mathbb{C}^n}. The main result is a generalization to higher dimensions of a well known result due to Becker. Various particular cases of this result have been recently obtained for subordination chains with normalization Df(0,t)=etIn{Df(0,t)=e^tI_n} or Df(0, t) = e tA , t ≥ 0, where A ? L(\mathbbCn,\mathbbCn){A\in L(\mathbb{C}^n,\mathbb{C}^n)}. We also determine the form of the standard solutions to the Loewner differential equation associated with generalized spirallike mappings. In the last section we obtain the form of the solution in the presence of coefficient bounds.  相似文献

We obtain results on the local behavior of open discrete mappings f:D ? \mathbbRn f:D \to {\mathbb{R}^n} , n ≥ 2, that satisfy certain conditions related to the distortion of capacities of condensers. It is shown that, in an infinitesimal neighborhood of zero, the indicated mapping cannot grow faster than an integral of a special type that corresponds to the distortion of the capacity under this mapping, which is an analog of the well-known Ikoma growth estimate proved for quasiconformal mappings of the unit ball into itself and of the classic Schwartz lemma for analytic functions. For mappings of the indicated type, we also obtain an analog of the well-known Liouville theorem for analytic functions.  相似文献

If the additive group of complex numbers acts algebraically on a normal affine variety, then the associated ring of invariants need not be finitely generated, but is an ideal transform of some normal affine algebra (Theorem 1). We investigate such normal affine algebras in the case of a locally trivial action on a factorial variety. If the variety is a complex affine space and the ring of invariants is isomorphic to a polynomial ring, then the action is conjugate to a translation (Theorem 3). Equivalently, ifC n , is the total space for a principalG a -bundle over some open subset ofC n–1 then the bundle is trivial.
