The (parabolic) second-order directional derivatives of singular values of matrices and symmetric matrix-valued functions induced by real-valued functions play important roles in studying second-order optimality conditions for different types of matrix cone optimization problems. We propose a direct way to derive the formula for the second-order directional derivative of any eigenvalue of a symmetric matrix in Torki (Nonlinear Anal 46:1133–1150 2001), from which a formula for the second-order directional derivative of any singular value of a matrix is established. We demonstrate a formula for the second-order directional derivative of the symmetric matrix-valued function. As applications, the second-order derivative for the projection operator over the SDP cone is derived and used to get the second-order tangent set of the SDP cone in Bonnans and Shapiro (2000), and the tangent cone and the second-order tangent set of the epigraph of the nuclear norm are given as well.  相似文献

Semidefinite positiveness of operators on Euclidean spaces is characterized. Using this characterization, we compute in a direct way the first-order and second-order tangent sets to the cone of semidefinite positive operators on such a space. The paper deals with a new sharp condition ensuring the Aubin property of solution maps to a class of parameterized variational systems. This class encompasses various types of parameterized variational inequalities/generalized equations with fairly general constraint sets. The new condition requires computation of directional limiting coderivatives of the normal-cone mapping for the so-called critical directions. The respective formulas have the form of a second-order chain rule and extend the available calculus of directional limiting objects. The suggested procedure is illustrated by means of examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the parabolic second-order directional derivative in the Hadamard sense of a vector-valued function associated with circular cone. The vector-valued function comes from applying a given real-valued function to the spectral decomposition associated with circular cone. In particular, we present the exact formula of second-order tangent set of circular cone by using the parabolic second-order directional derivative of projection operator. In addition, we also deal with the relationship of second-order differentiability between the vector-valued function and the given real-valued function. The results in this paper build fundamental bricks to the characterizations of second-order necessary and sufficient conditions for circular cone optimization problems.  相似文献

This paper investigates second-order optimality conditions for general multiobjective optimization problems with constraint set-valued mappings and an arbitrary constraint set in Banach spaces. Without differentiability nor convexity on the data and with a metric regularity assumption the second-order necessary conditions for weakly efficient solutions are given in the primal form. Under some additional assumptions and with the help of Robinson -Ursescu open mapping theorem we obtain dual second-order necessary optimality conditions in terms of Lagrange-Kuhn-Tucker multipliers. Also, the second-order sufficient conditions are established whenever the decision space is finite dimensional. To this aim, we use the second-order projective derivatives associated to the second-order projective tangent sets to the graphs introduced by Penot. From the results obtained in this paper, we deduce and extend, in the special case some known results in scalar optimization and improve substantially the few results known in vector case.  相似文献

In this paper, the extremum of second-order directional derivatives, i.e. the gradient of first-order derivatives is discussed. Given second-order directional derivatives in three nonparallel directions, or given second-order directional derivatives and mixed directional derivatives in two nonparallel directions, the formulae for the extremum of second-order directional derivatives are derived, and the directions corresponding to maximum and minimum are perpendicular to each other.  相似文献

We present a new second-order directional derivative and study its properties. Using this derivative and the parabolic second-order derivative, we establish second-order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a general scalar optimization problem by means of the asymptotic and parabolic second-order tangent sets to the feasible set. For the sufficient conditions, the initial space must be finite dimensional. Then, these conditions are applied to a general vector optimization problem obtaining second-order optimality conditions that generalize the differentiable case. For this aim, we introduce a scalarization, and the relationships between the different types of solutions to the vector optimization problem and the scalarized problem are studied. We develop a new notion of second-order complementarity with respect to the tangent subspace related to second-order necessary optimality conditions by the introduction of so-called tangent multipliers. We prove that around a local minimizer, a second-order stationarity residual can be driven to zero while controlling the growth of Lagrange multipliers and tangent multipliers, which gives a new second-order optimality condition without constraint qualifications stronger than previous ones associated with global convergence of algorithms. We prove that second-order variants of augmented Lagrangian (under an additional smoothness assumption based on the Lojasiewicz inequality) and interior point methods generate sequences satisfying our optimality condition. We present also a companion minimal constraint qualification, weaker than the ones known for second-order methods, that ensures usual global convergence results to a classical second-order stationary point. Finally, our optimality condition naturally suggests a definition of second-order stationarity suitable for the computation of iteration complexity bounds and for the definition of stopping criteria.  相似文献

Splitting with respect to space variables can be used in solving boundary value problems for second-order parabolic equations. Classical alternating direction methods and locally one-dimensional schemes could be examples of this approach. For problems with rapidly varying coefficients, a convenient tool is the use of fluxes (directional derivatives) as independent variables. The original equation is written as a system in which not only the desired solution but also directional derivatives (fluxes) are unknowns. In this paper, locally one-dimensional additional schemes (splitting schemes) for second-order parabolic equations are examined. By writing the original equation in flux variables, certain two-level locally one-dimensional schemes are derived. The unconditional stability of locally one-dimensional flux schemes of the first and second approximation order with respect to time is proved.  相似文献

Various definitions of directional derivatives in topological vector spaces are compared. Directional derivatives in the sense of Gâteaux, Fréchet, and Hadamard are singled out from the general framework of -directional differentiability. It is pointed out that, in the case of finite-dimensional spaces and locally Lipschitz mappings, all these concepts of directional differentiability are equivalent. This paper proposes a new interval uncertainty analysis method for structural response bounds with uncertain‑but-bounded parameters by using feedforward neural network (FNN) differentiation. The information of partial derivative may be unavailable analytically for some complicated engineering problems. To overcome this drawback, the FNNs of real structural responses with respect to structure parameters are first constructed in this work. The first-order and second-order partial derivative formulas of FNN are derived via the backward chain rule of partial differentiation, thus the partial derivatives could be determined directly. Especially, the influences of structures of multilayer FNNs on the accuracy of the first-order and second-order partial derivatives are analyzed. A numerical example shows that an FNN with the appropriate structure parameters is capable of approximating the first-order and second-order partial derivatives of an arbitrary function. Based on the parameter perturbation method using these partial derivatives, the extrema of the FNN can be approximated without requiring much computational time. Moreover, the subinterval method is introduced to obtain more accurate and reliable results of structural response with relatively large interval uncertain parameters. Three specific examples, a cantilever tube, a Belleville spring, and a rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model, are employed to show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed interval uncertainty analysis method compared with other methods.  相似文献

In this paper, a calculus for two second-order directional derivatives is presented and then applied in the development of second-order necessary optimality conditions for a nonsmooth mathematical program. The formulae of this calculus, which include rules for sums, pointwise maxima, and certain compositions of functions, are valid for a large class of non-Lipschitzian functions and in fact subsume the sharpest results of the calculus of first-order upper and lower epiderivatives. Two methods are utilized in the derivation of these formulae. One centers around the concept of metric regularity, while the other relies upon the use of recession cones and interior tangent sets.  相似文献
