We propose a novel radio-over-fiber system based on double-sideband (DSB) modulation and frequency quadrupling to reduce the system cost both at central office (CO) and base station (BS). In this system, by properly biasing the intensity modulator, the repetitive frequency of the optical millimeter-wave (mm-wave) is four times frequency of the local oscillator (LO) signal. Additionally, due to the single-sideband of the mm-wave carrying base data signal, our theoretical simulation shows that the generated mm-wave can be immunized the fading effect and the walk-off of signals.  相似文献

We proposed and simulatedly demonstrated a novel full-duplex radio-over-fiber system using an external modulator and an optical interleaver to generate dual quadrupling-frequency optical millimeter waves for carrying two base station downstream data and wavelength reuse for uplink connection. The simulation results reveal that the power penalties for the downstream and upstream signals of both base stations are less than 0.8 dB. In this new scheme, the configuration of the both base stations is simplified further because there is no additional laser at two base stations. The frequency of local oscillator signal is reduced due to frequency quadrupling. The cost of the new system is largely reduced.  相似文献

A full-duplex radio-over-fiber system using frequency-decupling optical millimeter-wave based on external modulation via a Mach–Zehnder modulator is proposed and analyzed theoretically. The simulation results show that the power penalties for both the downstream and upstream signals are less than 0.5 dB. In this scheme, the configuration of a base station is simplified due to no laser at a base station, and the frequency of local oscillator signal is largely reduced due to the frequency-decupling millimeter-wave technique. Turbo-coded 1.25-Gb/s orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals in 60-GHz radio-over-fiber system are demonstrated.It can overcome impairments in fibers and extend transmission distance.Experimental results show that the transmission distance of turbo-coded OFDM signals at 1.25 Gb/s with coding (pure bit rate of 830 Mb/s) can be extended by over 30%.  相似文献

提出了一种基于双平行马赫 增德尔调制器的全双工矢量信号传输系统。传统的光学倍频技术只适用于NRZ (not return to zero) 等强度调制格式,而不适用于无线通信中常用的MPSK、MQAM等矢量信号调制技术,用传统的倍频技术生成光毫米波后,用滤波器将其2个边带分开,在其中一个边带上调制矢量信号,这样幅度和相位信息被正确保留,且使用了8倍频模块,降低了传输过程中对光电器件的带宽要求。理论分析和仿真结果表明:通过此方法产生的携带在60 GHz载波上的625 Msymbol/s的4QPSK信号,经过20 km单模光纤传输后,误差向量幅度损耗可以忽略不计。  相似文献

In this paper, a reconfigurable Radio over Fiber system based on optical switches, optical multimode interference power splitter and tunable optical filters is designed, which can achieve quadrature phase shift keying wireless modulation in optical domain and switch carrier frequency between 30 and 60 GHz. We present a prototype for optical single-sideband (SSB) modulated radio-over-fiber (RoF) system by employing a long period fiber grating (LPFG). A LPFG with 13.78 nm base width of transmission spectrum and 0?23.2 dB of transmission depth was designed by using commercial software. Then it is used in RoF SSB modulation scheme. In the scheme, a Mach?Zehnder modulator modulates the light wave with millimeter-wave driving signals to realize optical double-sideband (ODSB) modulation, the generated ODSB modulation signals pass through a LPFG. Due to the negative slope in transmission spectrum, the lower sideband experiences higher attenuation than the upper sideband. Thus the conversion from ODSB to optical single sideband with carrier (OSSB + C) can be easily achieved by using only one LPFG. Also, the carrier to sideband ratio (CSR) can be reduced by using a LPFG, results show the CSR can be decreased from 12.49 dB to 1.1 dB.  相似文献

A 60-GHz bidirectional radio-over-fiber (RoF) system using two-carrier-injected distributed feedback (DFB) laser is proposed and demonstrated to realize optical single sideband (SSB) modulation for downlink.An injection-locked Fabry-P'erot laser is also carried out to realize wavelength reuse in uplink.Transmission of 2.5 Gb/s on a 60-GHz carrier for downlink and 622-Mb/s baseband signal for uplink are both successfully demonstrated over 50-km single mode fiber without chromatic dispersion compensation.  相似文献

A novel radio-over-fiber (ROF) scheme simultaneously to modulate and transmit 10-Gb/s baseband and 60-GHz microwave signals on a single wavelength using single-sideband (SSB) modulation technique is proposed and verified by simulation. The scheme is based on a Dual-Parallel Mach-Zehnder Modulator (DPMZM). The scheme can carry the microwave signals on either the upper sideband (USB) or the lower sideband (LSB) only and the baseband signals on the other sideband. The optical 60-GHz millimeter wave (mm-wave) carrier is generated by means of subcarrier-multiplexing (SCM) technique to carry 155-Mb/s baseband signals while 10-Gb/s baseband signals are imposed on the original optical carrier via SSB modulation. A postcompensation technique for nonlinearity of a Mach-Zehnder modulator in a radio-over-fiber (ROF) system is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on second-order optical sideband processing and optical carrier band attenuation. The phase of the second-order optical sideband is shifted to suppress the third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) in a direct detection ROF link. The optical carrier band is attenuated to make two kinds of origins of IMD3 have equal intensity and cancel each other out. A spurious-free dynamic range of 124.8 dB·Hz(2/3) is achieved, which is about 25 dB more than that without compensation.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a full-duplex radio-over-fiber system incorporating both optical millimeter-wave (mm-wave) generation and wavelength reuse for uplink connection. The optical double sidebands (DSB) signal is generated by using only one inexpensive broadband direct modulation laser (DML), to which a mixing RF signal is applied. An optical interleaver is then used to separate the first-order optical sidebands from the optical carrier of optical DSB signal. The separated first-order optical sidebands are beat to generate mm-wave signal that has double the frequency of the RF drive signal, while the separated optical carrier is reused as light source to remodulate uplink signal. Both detailed theoretical analysis and experiments to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system are presented. Experiment result shows that the bidirectional 2.5 Gb/s data can be successfully transmitted over 40 km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) with less than 2 dB power penalty.  相似文献

A flexible method for subcarrier demultiplexing in radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The subcarrier demultiplexer is realized by a coefficient-switchable microwave photonic filter, which is based on biasing Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM) at different transmission slopes. The 2.4 GHz and 2.7 GHz subcarrier signals both modulated with 100 Mbps on-off keying (OOK) data are transmitted and demultiplexed in the RoF system. The experimental result shows that each of the two subcarriers can be individually selected out with the other one well depressed. The proposed subcarrier demultiplexing scheme is simple, feasible, cost-effective and has good potential applications in the multiplexed RoF systems.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the excitation of soliton waves in the nonlinear electrical transmission line formed by many cells. When the periodic driving voltage with frequency in the pass band closing to the cutoff frequency is applied to the endpoint of the whole line, the soliton wave can be generated. The numerical results show that the soliton wave generation mainly depends on the self modulation associated with the nonlinear effect. In this study, the lower subharmonic component is also observed in the frequency spectrum. To further understand this phenomenon, we study the dependence of the subharmonic power spectrum and frequency on the forcing amplitude and frequency numerically, and find that the subharmonic frequency increases with the gradual growth of the driving amplitude.  相似文献

为了验证数字脉冲间隔调制(DPIM)在紫外光通信中应用的可行性,设计了基于FPGA的DPIM调制和解调系统。调制过程在锁存器的控制下,将串并转换后的数据输入比较器,并与计数值相比较产生DPIM调制信号;在解调端,利用计数器检测相邻光脉冲间的空时隙数,在锁存器的控制下,恢复得到原始数据。以16-DPIM为例,随机输入一组串行二进制数据,经过调制系统得到了16-DPIM信号;同样随机输入一个16-DPIM调制信号,通过解调系统恢复得到了原始数据。并在此基础上提出了一种新型的双幅度、定长DPIM调制方式,能更好地弥补DPIM符号长度不固定的缺陷。  相似文献

A directly modulated CATV/radio-on-fiber (ROF) transport system based on external light injection technique, optical single sideband (SSB) filter, and RF amplifier predistorter is proposed and demonstrated. To the best of my knowledge, it is the first time to transmit CATV and ROF signals simultaneously in a directly modulated form. Good performances of carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR), composite second order (CSO) and composite triple beat (CTB) were obtained for CATV band; and low third order intermodulation distortion to carrier ratio (IMD3/C), and bit error rate (BER) values were achieved for ROF application.  相似文献

We have projected and verified a bidirectional intra-/inter-radio-access-technology carrier-aggregation method for a next-generation heterogeneous mobile network supported by filter bank multicarrier(FBMC). Successful transmission of intra/inter-band carrier aggregation between five broadband FBMC signals and three bands 4G long-term-evolution-advanced signal over 50 km single-mode fiber plus 10 m free-space is successfully broadcasted by employing an incoherent light-injection scheme in downlink. In uplink, two intra-bands carrier-aggregated wireless local area network Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.11 g signal is carried over the equal distance. High receiver sensitivity, low error vector magnitude, and clear constellation diagrams show successful delivery of different wireless services for different consumers. Therefore, the proposed hybrid system should become a potential solution for a future mobile front-haul network because of its low latency and high capacity.  相似文献

An S band SLED-type pulse compressor has been manufactured by the Institute of High Energy Physics,Beijing, trying to reach 100 MW maximum input power, which means the output peak power is about 500 MW at the phase reversal time. To improve the reliability at very high power, amplitude modulation and phase modulation with flat-top output are considered, and RF modulation studies on the S-band SLED are presented in this paper.Furthermore, a method is developed using the CST Microwave Studio transient solver to simulate the time response of the pulse compressor, which can verify the modulation theory. In addition, the experimental setup was constructed and the flat-top output obtained in low power tests. Both amplitude modulation and phase modulation methods can give flat-top output, and the average power gain for both methods is almost the same.  相似文献
