We summarize previous field effect studies in high-T c cuprates and then discuss our method to smoothly tune the carrier concentration of a cuprate film over a wide range using an applied electric field. We synthesized epitaxial one-unit-cell thick films of La2?x Sr x CuO4 and from them fabricated electric double layer transistor devices utilizing various gate electrolytes. We were able to vary the carrier density by about 0.08 carriers per Cu atom, with the resulting change in T c of 30 K. The superconductor-insulator transition occurred at the critical resistance very close to the quantum resistance for pairs, R Q = h/(2e)2 = 6.5 kΩ. This is suggestive of a quantum phase transition, possibly driven by quantum phase fluctuations, between a “Bose insulator” and a high-T c superconductor state. 相似文献

The effect of a magnetic field parallel to the CuO2 plane on the Raman spectra is investigated based on the Slave–Boson approach to the t − t′ − J model with a Zeeman field and the random-phase approximation. We find that the Raman spectra intensities in the superconducting (SC) state are suppressed for both the B1g and the B2g channels with a slight shift of the peaks position toward lower frequency in the B1g channel and a negligible shift in the B2g channel due to the Zeeman splitting. There is a field-induced peak and dip structure at low energy response in the B2g channel at very low temperature. While rising temperature has a similar effect in reducing the Raman response peak in the superconducting (SC) state, it smears out the field-induced peak and dip structure in the B2g channel. We compare these results with experiments and give explanations based on the field-induced changes of the density of the superconducting condensate, the momentum distribution of the quasiparticle energy and the scattering rate. 相似文献

The asymmetric gap superconductivity is considered in orthorhombic high Tc cuprates. Recent experiments predict an anisotropy in the gap where |Δ(0,π)|> |Δ(π,0)| and the gap node deviates from the
diagonal direction toward the kx axis. The temperature dependencies of the specific heat and penetration depth along the a and b directions are calculated
for the anisotropic gap superconductors. However, the anisotropy in the penetration depth can be consistent with the experimental
observations only after the inclusion of the plane and chain coupling. The d-density wave (DDW) phase that explains the pseudogap

We analyse a model where the anomalies of the bond-stretching LO phonon mode are caused by the coupling to electron dynamic response in the form of a damped oscillator and explore the possibility to reconstruct the spectrum of the latter from the phonon measurements. Preliminary estimates point to its location in the mid infrared region and we show how the required additional information can be extracted from the oxygen isotope effect on the phonon spectrum. The model predicts a significant measurable deviation from the “standard value” of the isotope effect even if the phonon frequency is far below the electron excitation spectrum, provided the latter is strongly incoherent. In this regime, which corresponds to the “mid infrared scenario”, the phonon linewidth becomes a sensitive and informative probe of the isotope effect. 相似文献

By a singular gauge transformation, the quasiparticle transport in the mixed state of high- Tc cuprates is mapped into a charge-neutral Dirac moving in short-range correlated random scalar and long-range correlated vector potential. A fully quantum mechanical approach to longitudinal and transverse thermal conductivities is presented. The semiclassical Volovik effect is presented in a quantum mechanical way. The quasiparticle scattering from the random magnetic field which was completely missed in all the previous semiclassical approaches is the dominant scattering mechanism at sufficient high magnetic field. The electronic properties of multilayers of strongly correlated models for cuprate superconductors are investigated using cluster dynamical mean-field techniques. We focus on combinations of underdoped and overdoped layers and find that the superconducting order parameter in the overdoped layers is enhanced by the proximity effect of the strong pairing scale originating from the underdoped layers. The enhanced order parameter can even exceed the maximum value in uniform systems. This behavior is well reproduced in slave-boson mean-field calculations which also find higher transition temperatures than in the uniform system. 相似文献

Using variational cluster perturbation theory we study the competition between d-wave superconductivity (dSC) and antiferromagnetism (AF) in the t-t(')-t(')-U Hubbard model. Large scale computer calculations reproduce the overall ground-state phase diagram of the high-temperature superconductors as well as the one-particle excitation spectra for both hole and electron doping. We identify clear signatures of the Mott gap as well as of AF and of dSC that should be observable in photoemission experiments. 相似文献

This paper presents the dynamics as well as the stability of laser produced plasma expanding across the magnetic field. Observation
of some high frequency fluctuations superimposed on ion saturation current along with structuring in the pin hole images of
x-ray emitting plasma plume indicate the presence of instability in the plasma. Two type of slope in the variation of x-ray
emission with laser intensity in the absence and presence of magnetic field shows appearance of different threshold intensity
of laser corresponding to each magnetic field at which this instability or density fluctuation sets on. This instability has
been identified as a large Larmor radius instability instead of classical Rayleigh-Taylor (R-T) instability. 相似文献

Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy with low-energy tunable photons along the nodal direction of oxygen isotope substituted Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) reveals a distinct oxygen isotope shift near the electron-boson coupling "kink" in the electronic dispersion. The magnitude (a few meV) and direction of the kink shift are as expected due to the measured isotopic shift of phonon frequency, and are also in agreement with theoretical expectations. This demonstrates the participation of the phonons as dominant players, as well as pinpointing the most relevant of the phonon branches. 相似文献

本文通过非微扰求解薛定谔方程, 研究了强磁场磁化的等离子体环境中的原子能级结构和辐射动力学过程. 在较宽的磁场强度范围和等离子体屏蔽参数范围内, 给出了氢原子基态以及低激发态的能级、辐射跃迁能量和振子强度等重要的原子参数, 定量地描述了强磁场和等离子体屏蔽共同作用的综合效应. 相关的结果有助于增进对极端环境下原子光谱结构的认识, 在等离子体光谱诊断和天文光谱观测方面有一定的借鉴意义.

A phase diagram of superconductivity (SC) and antiferromagnetism (AFM) for hole-doped cuprate superconductors in presence of chemical potential (μ) by using a model Hamiltonian is reported here. The Hamiltonian of the system is a mean field one and has been solved by writing equations of motion for the single particle Green functions. The expressions for appropriate single particle correlation function are derived. It is assumed that SC arises due to BCS pairing mechanism and AFM order is simulated by staggered magnetic field in lattices of Cu–O planes. The expressions for SC order parameter, AFM order parameter and dopant concentration are calculated analytically by using Green function technique of D.N. Zubarev. The value of SC gap (z), AFM gap (h) and chemical potential (μ) are solved self consistently for different dopant concentrations (x) by changing model parameters. It is found that a disordered phase appears after antiferromagnetism is destroyed in the range of very small doping. On further increase of the doping, the SC critical temperature first increases, attains a maximum value (?39 K) and then decreases which agrees well with experimental observations for hole-doped cuprates. Our theoretical findings suggest that the AFM coupling plays the vital role of the glue for the Cooper pairs. 相似文献

It is proposed that the temperature dependence of the superconducting gap Delta(T) in high-T(c) cuprates can be predicted just from the knowledge of Delta(0) and the critical temperature T(c), and, in particular, Delta(0)/T(c)>4 implies that Delta(T(c)) not equal 0, while Delta(0)/T(c)=4 corresponds to Delta(T(c))=0. A number of tunneling experiments appear to support the above proposition, and, furthermore, show reasonable quantitative agreement with a model based on the two-dimensional stripe hypothesis. 相似文献

The ground state of an array of magnetic particles (magnetic dots), which are ordered in a square 2D lattice and whose magnetic moment is perpendicular to the lattice plane, in the presence of an external magnetic field has been analyzed. Such a model is applicable for sufficiently small dots with perpendicular anisotropy that are in a single-domain state and for dots in a strongly inhomogeneous vortex state whose magnetic moment is determined by the vortex core. For the magnetic field perpendicular to the system plane, the entire set of the states has been analyzed from the chessboard antiferromagnetic order of magnetic moments in low fields to the saturated state of the system with the parallel orientations of the magnetic moments of all dots in strong fields. In the presence of the border, the destruction of the chessboard order first occurs at the edges of the system, then near the extended sections of the surface, and finally expands over the entire interior of the array. The critical field at which this simplest state is destroyed is much more weakly than the value characteristic of the ideal infinite system. In contrast to this scenario, the destruction of the saturated state with decreasing field always begins far from the borders. Despite such different behaviors, the magnetic structure in the intermediate range of fields that is obtained with both increasing and decreasing field for finite arrays strongly differs from that characteristic of the ideal infinite system. The role of simple stacking faults of the magnetic dot lattice (such as single vacancies or their clusters) in the remagnetization of the system has been analyzed. The presence of such faults is shown to give rise to the appearance of local destructions of the chessboard antiferromagnetic order at fields that are much weaker than those for an ideal lattice. 相似文献

We study the dynamics of 90-degree domain walls in the intermediate state of antiferromagnets, the state being realized in
a first-order spin-flop transition in an external magnetic field. We show that an additional oscillating external magnetic
field leads to a drift in the domain walls and find the dependence of the drift velocity on the amplitude, frequency, and
polarization of the oscillating field. Finally, we discuss the possibility of the domain structure drifting as a whole.

The possibility of forming static dual scalar and pseudo-scalar density wave condensates in dense quark matter is considered for the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model in an external magnetic field. Within a mean-field approximation, the effective potential of the theory is obtained and its extrema are numerically studied and a phase diagram of the system is constructed. It is shown that the presence of a magnetic field favors the formation of spatially inhomogeneous condensate configurations at low temperatures. 相似文献

A method is proposed to measure the screening efficiency of an ac magnetic field by superconducting films with the use of
a strip line as an ac magnetic field source capable of operating within a broad frequency range. The dependence of the efficiency
of ac magnetic field screening by YBCO films and single-crystal BiSrCaCuO on temperature and the frequency of magnetic field
oriented perpendicular to the sample plane has been studied in the 104–109-Hz range. This relation is shown to depend substantially on the technique used in the film fabrication.
