The solubility of BTCZC has been determined for various temperatures. Single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) study has been carried out to identify the lattice parameters. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies confirm the various functional groups present in the grown crystal. The transmission and absorption spectra of this crystal show that the lower cut off wavelength lies at 260nm. The thermal analyses confirmed that the crystal is stable upto 201 degrees C. The nonlinear optical (NLO) property of the grown crystal has been confirmed by Kurtz-powder second harmonic generation (SHG) test.  相似文献

l-Lysine sulphate (LLS), a semiorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) material useful for frequency doubling in the IR region, has been synthesized. The solubility studies have been carried out in the temperature range 30–50 °C. Single crystals have been grown by slow evaporation method from an aqueous acetone solution of l-lysine and sulphuric acid. The grown crystals were bulk, bright and transparent. These crystals were characterized by X-ray and FTIR studies. Powder X-ray pattern indicates that LLS crystallizes in orthorhombic space group P212121 with four unit cells. FTIR spectral studies were performed for the conformation of the l-lysine molecule and hydrogen bonds. The optical transmission spectra of the grown crystal are tested by UV–vis spectrophotometer and found that the crystal was transparent over entire visible region. The second harmonic generation test of the LLS revealed the nonlinear nature of the crystal.  相似文献

The organic material 4-chloro-4′-chlorobenzylidene aniline (CCBA) was synthesized and confirmed by NMR and FTIR spectral analyses. CCBA crystal was grown from chloroform by slow evaporation at room temperature and the single crystal cell parameters were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The perfection of the grown crystal was analyzed by high resolution X-ray diffraction rocking curve analysis. Fluorescence spectrum indicated violet emission at 428 nm. The range of optical absorbance was ascertained by recording UV–vis–NIR spectrum. Load dependant microhardness measurements on this crystal revealed the mechanical behavior of the material. Stiffness constant, Meyer index and yield strength of CCBA crystal were calculated. Dielectric studies were carried out to estimate the dielectric parameters of the grown crystal in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. The thermal behavior of CCBA was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and no phase transition was identified in the temperature region 30–100 °C. Further, the CCBA crystal was subjected to open aperture Z-scan studies in order to investigate the third order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of CCBA crystal.  相似文献

Sodium p-nitrophenolate (SPNP), a semiorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) material useful for frequency doubling in the IR region, has been synthesized. The solubility studies have been carried out in the temperature range 30-50 degrees C. Single crystals (size 12 mmx7 mmx4 mm) have been grown by slow evaporation of the saturated aqueous solution (methanol as solvent) at 30 degrees C. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The UV-vis-NIR transmittance spectrum has been recorded in the range 200-1500 nm. The molecular structure was confirmed by FT-IR and FT-NMR. SPNP was thermally stable up to 103 degrees C as determined by TG/DTA curves. By a modified Kurtz and Perry method, the powder SHG efficiency was found to be five times that of KDP and its phase matching property was established. Laser damage threshold of SPNP was determined using a Nd:YAG laser.  相似文献

The powder XRD pattern revealed the formation of UTCS compound. High-resolution-X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to study the crystalline perfection of the sample. Functional groups of the grown crystal were identified by FT-IR studies. Thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses were employed to understand the thermal and physio-chemical stability of the synthesized compound. UV–Vis–NIR spectrum revealed the transmission properties of the crystal specimen. The SHG efficiency has been tested by the Kurtz powder technique using Nd: YAG laser and found to be about 0.82 times in comparison with standard KDP crystals.  相似文献

Good quality single crystals of thiourea-doped triglycinesulphate (TuTGS) a new semiorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal has been successfully grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The solubilities under various solvents in different proportions have been studied. The structural characterization of the grown crystals was carried out by X-ray diffraction. The grown crystals were subjected to FTIR and Raman analyses for vibrational assignments. The optical absorption coefficient alpha was analysed and interpreted to be allowed in the direct transition. The values of allowed direct energy gap (Eg) for undoped and doped crystals were calculated. It was found that Eg values were decreased with organic molecule doping. The powder technique of Kurtz and Perry confirm the NLO property of the grown crystal.  相似文献

The 1:1 adduct of l-Alanine and sodium bromide (l-ANaBr) crystal has been grown from aqueous solution by a slow evaporation technique. l-alanine and sodium bromide were used in the ratio 1:1 for synthesis. Characterizations were carried out to study the thermal, optical, and mechanical properties of the grown crystal. Single-crystal X- ray diffraction analysis shows that the grown crystal belongs to the monoclinic system. The crystalline nature and its various planes of reflections were observed by powder XRD analysis. Thermal studies reveal that the crystal is stable up to 113.37 °C. The chemical compositions of the grown crystal were determined by FT-IR spectral analysis. The transmittance, absorption, and reflection spectrum of l-ANaBr crystal studied using a UV–Vis spectrometer indicates that the crystal has good optical transparency. The mechanical property of the grown crystal studied using Vickers microhardness measurement reveals that the crystal is a soft material.  相似文献

Single crystals of the organic NLO material, benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (BTSC) monohydrate, were grown by slow evaporation method. Solubility of BTSC monohydrate was determined in ethanol at different temperatures. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis to determine the cell parameters and by FT-IR technique to study the presence of the functional groups. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses reveal the thermal stability of the crystal. UV-vis-NIR spectrum shows excellent transmission in the region of 200-1100 nm. Theoretical calculations were carried out to determine the linear optical constants such as extinction coefficient and refractive index. Further the optical nonlinearities of BTSC have been investigated by Z-scan technique with He-Ne laser radiation of wavelength 632.8 nm. A novel organic non-linear optical organic single crystal of 4-phenylpyridinium hydrogen squarate (4PHS) has been synthesized and successfully grown from aqueous solutions by slow evaporation solution growth method. In the present investigation the title compound has been synthesized by taking equimolar quantity of 4-phenylpyridine and squaric acid and mixed thoroughly using double distilled water as the solvent. The prepared concentrated solution was placed in an undisturbed condition, and then the solution was periodically inspected. The good quality single crystals have been harvested in a time span of 3 weeks. Then the grown crystal was characterized as single crystal XRD, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, FTIR, UV-vis-NIR, SHG, (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR analyses, respectively. The observed results from the characterization analyses show its suitability for NLO applications when compared with some of the existing organic crystals. The relative second harmonic generation of this grown crystal was found to be five times higher than that of KDP crystal. The UV cut-off wavelength and decomposition temperature of this grown crystal were also comparatively better. (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR spectroscopic studies were employed to elucidate the structure of the grown specimen.  相似文献
