We have formulated a model for the coupled dynamics of the local polarization and the elastic deformations of dipolar glasses. Randomly interacting dipoles undergo a phase transition to a glassy state, which is signalled above T c by a divergence of the relaxation time of the dipolar autocorrelation. Dipolar dynamics is directly observable in the dynamic dielectric susceptibility, for which we predict a power law dependence on frequency at and close to T c. The slowing down of dipolar degrees of freedom also gives rise to dynamic critical anomalies in the elastic and structural properties, like the appearance of a central peak and divergence of the sound damping. All these phenomena are a consequence of dynamic scaling of the dipolar autocorrelation and hence interrelated. We discuss two scaling functions in detail: One is calculated within mean field theory and the other one is taken from numerical simulations of short range Ising spin glasses. The predictions of the model are in accordance with most experimental findings for dipolar glasses.  相似文献

We have measured electro-optic coefficients at 94 GHz for several orientations in LiNbO3 and LiTaO3. These coefficients are considerably enhanced over their values in the visible, due to contributions from lattice vibrations. A scaling law is developed which allows the calculation of these coefficients in terms of the linear susceptibility. The phase shifting performance of a number of promising materials is discussed.  相似文献

The real part of the time-dependent ac susceptibility of the short-range Ising spin glass in a transverse field has been investigated at very low temperatures. We have used the quantum linear response theory and domain coarsening ideas of quantum droplet scaling theory. It is found that after a temperature quench to a temperature T 1 (lower than the spin glass transition temperature T g ) the ac susceptibility decreases with time approximately in a logarithmic way as the system tends to the equilibrium. It is shown that the transverse field of tunneling has unessential effect on the nonequilibrium dynamical properties of the magnetic droplet system. 本文假设导致托卡马克反常电子输运的主要机制为由温度梯度所驱动的重整化电子磁漂移波。通过求解动力学过程自洽地导出了反常电子输运系数的定标律:D(T)=(c/ωpe)2{((ve/qR)2/2π+(vc/2)2)1/2-vc/2}。它在数值上与现有实验给出的AIcator定标律符合。在无碰撞(vc→0)情况下与Ohkawa定标津一致。同时分析了该定标律与Alcator定标律的偏离,并由此讨论了强磁场欧姆加热托卡马克达到热核点火的可能性。 关键词:  相似文献

We compute the structure function of large kT scaling law in the framework of a multiperipheral or parton model. This function depends on two scaling variables. We show that recent NAL data are in perfect agreement with the same 1/kT8 law observed at ISR. The observed apparent change of the scaling power is faked by the neglect of the dependence on one of the scaling variables.  相似文献

We report a.c. susceptibility measurements in the diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd1-xMnxTe for x = 0.45 and 0.55 between 10 Hz and 6 MHz. The experimental data are interpreted in terms of dynamic scaling laws with a transition temperature Tc consistent with the static results.  相似文献

The macroscopic behavior of high-temperature superconductors is described by a nonlinear response function in combinations with Maxwell equations. This function is compatible with the suggested different model pinning barriers U(J). A comparison of this function to the scaling behavior of the isothermal current-voltage characteristics measured in twinned YBa2Cu3O (YBCO) samples shows fair agreement. We also compare the amplitude dependence of ac susceptibility derived from this function with several experimental results of high-temperature superconductors and find a general power law in the out-of-phase peak shift. Hysteresis loop and ac susceptibility measurements were performed on three series of amorphous alloys: (AwB1-w)75P16B6Al3, where (A, B) are (Fe, Ni), (Co, Ni) and (Fe, Mn). Upon cooling, low w alloys undergo paramagne t to spin glass transitions. Alloys with higher w first experience a Curie transition to a ferromagnetic state, and then a spin freezing transition to a spin glass state. the T dependence of the width of the ac hysteresis loop is used to determine the spin freezing transition temperature. A magnetic phase diagram is presented for each alloy series and the value of w required for ferromagnetism, wC, is determined. When measured in the presence of small constant fields, the ac susceptibility of alloys with w just above wC has maxima near both transition temperatures. The field and temperature dependences of the peaks are explained by scaling arguments, used to determine the critical exponent δ for the Curie transition, and suggest that a similar scaling law holds for the ferromagnet to spin glass transition.  相似文献

The kinetic spherical model with long-ranged interactions and an arbitrary initial order m0 quenched from a very high temperature to T is solved. In the short-time regime, the bulk order increases with a power law in both the critical and phase-ordering dynamics. To the latter dynamics, a power law for the relative order is found in the intermediate time-regime. The short-time scaling relations of small m0 are generalized to an arbitrary m0 and all the time larger than . The characteristic functions for the scaling of m0 and for are obtained. Using a nonperturbative quantum electrodynamics theory of high-order harmonic generation (HHG), a scaling law of HHG is established. The scaling law states that when the atomic binding energy Eb, the wavelength λ and the intensity I of the laser field change simultaneously to kEb, λ/k, and k3I, respectively. The characteristics of the HHG spectrum remain unchanged, while the harmonic yield is enhanced k3 times. That HHG obeys the same scaling law with above-threshold ionization is a solid proof of the fact that the two physical processes have similar physical mechanisms. The variation of integrated harmonic yields is also discussed.  相似文献

Magnetic interparticle interactions compete with the magnetic blocking of ultrafine magnetic nanoparticles. We have prepared maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) nanoparticles by microwave plasma synthesis as a loose powder and in compacted form. In ZFC/FC measurements, blocking temperature of the compacted sample C is larger than that of the powder sample P. The frequency dependence of AC susceptibility of the sample C shows a large shift of blocking temperature with increasing frequency. Vogel-Fulcher law gives a large value of T0 for the sample C. To get evidence of a possible spin-glass freezing in both samples, scaling law fitting is applied to the AC susceptibility data. The value of the exponent (zv) of the critical slowing down dynamics fits to the spin-glass regime for both samples. For the sample P, spin-glass freezing occurs on the surface of individual nanoparticles, while in the sample C surface spin-glass freezing is concomitant with a superspin-glass formation as a consequence of coupling between particles. The sample C also shows an enhancement of coercivity due to dipolar interactions among the nanoparticles. Exchange interactions are attributed only to touching nanoparticles across their interfaces. All these measurements indicate the presence of strong interparticle dipolar interactions in the compacted sample C.  相似文献

本文报道非晶态Fe13Ni67.2P4.5B15.3合金的磁化强度与温度和磁场关系的测量结果。在居里温度附近样品的磁特性符合二级相变规律,得到临界指数β=0.39±0.02,γ=1.56±0.06,δ=5.20±0.1,样品的居里温度Tc=(180.4±0.2)K。在实验误差范围内,临界指数β,γ,δ满足γ=β(δ-1)关系,在168—192K温度范围,实验数据满足二级相变的磁状态方程。当T>270K时,样品顺磁磁化率服从居里-外斯定律,由居里-外斯常数c计算出有效顺磁磁矩Peff=3.19 μB关键词:  相似文献

The dynamic scaling behaviour of late-stage phase separation and coarsening mechanisms of L12 and D022 in Ni75AlxV25-x (3 ≤ x ≤ 10, at.%) alloys are studied using the microscopic phase-field dynamic model. The microelaso ticity field is incorporated into the diffusion dynamic model. The results show the morphology and coarsening dynamics being greatly changed by the elastic interactions among different precipitates, the particles aligning along the dominant directions, the average domain size (ADS) of L12 and D022 deviating from the exponent of temporal power-law, and the growth slowing down due to the increasing of elastic interactions. The dynamic scaling regime of late-stage coarsening of the precipitates is attained. Thus the scaling behaviour of structure function is also applicable for elastic interaction systems. It is also found that the variations of ADS and scaling function depend on the volume fraction of precipitates.  相似文献

Strongly correlated Fermi systems are among the most intriguing and fundamental systems in physics. We show that the herbertsmithite ZnCu3(OH)6Cl2 can be regarded as a new type of strongly correlated electrical insulator that possesses properties of heavy-fermion metals with one exception: it resists the flow of electric charge. We demonstrate that herbertsmithite’s low-temperature properties are defined by a strongly correlated quantum spin liquid made with hypothetic particles such as fermionic spinons that carry spin 1/2 and no charge. Our calculations of its thermodynamic and relaxation properties are in good agreement with recent experimental facts and allow us to reveal their scaling behavior, which strongly resembles that observed in heavy-fermion metals. Analysis of the dynamic magnetic susceptibility of strongly correlated Fermi systems suggests that there exist at least two types of its scaling.  相似文献

An approximate simple scaling law is obtained for asymmetric (e, 3e) process on helium-like ions for double ionization by fast electrons. It is based on the equation (Z ′3π) exp[-Z(r1 + r2)],Z′ = Z – (5/16) for ground state wave function of helium-like ions and Z′2 scaling of energies. The scaling law is found to work very well if the lower energy electron is ejected along the momentum transfer direction and the other one is ejected in the opposite direction. It also works quite well if this electron is ejected within about 90° of the momentum transfer direction with the other electron going in the opposite direction. The scaling law becomes increasingly accurate as the target nuclear charge and the energy increase.  相似文献

We discuss the role of the dynamic glass-forming fragile-to-strong crossover (FSC) in supercooled liquids. In the FSC, significant dynamic changes such as the decoupling (the violation of the Stokes-Einstein relation) of homologous transport parameters, e.g., the density relaxation time τ and the viscosity η, occur at a characteristic temperature T c . We study the FSC using a scaling law approach. In particular, we use both forms of the mode-coupling theory (MCT): the original (ideal) and the extended form, which explicitly describes energy hopping processes. We demonstrate that T c plays the most important physical role in understanding dynamic arrest processes.  相似文献

The critical exponents β, γ, δ and the scaling function of ferromagnetic Cu(NH4)2Br4, 2H2O and CuRb2Br4, 2H2O have been determined. The experimental scaling function is close to the theoretical one of three-dimensional Heisenberg model and the scaling laws are approximately fullfilled. The measured susceptibilities agree well with theoretical results for slightly anisotropic Heisenberg ferromagnet. The predicted cross-over effect, well observed on the perpendicular susceptibility, allows to explain the low experimental value of γ.  相似文献

We calculate the critical amplitudes of the Polyakov loop and its susceptibility at the deconfinement transition of (3 + 1)-dimensional SU(2) gauge theory. To this end we study the corrections due to irrelevant exponents in the scaling functions. As a guiding line for determining the critical amplitudes we use envelope equations which we derive from the finite size scaling formulae of the observables. We have produced new high precision data on Nσ3 × 4 lattices for Nχ = 12, 18, 26 and 36. With these data we find different corrections to the asymptotic scaling behaviour above and below the transition. Our result for the universal ratio of the susceptibility amplitudes is C+/C = 4.72(11) and thus in excellent agreement with a recent measurement for the 3d Ising model.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the superconducting ruthenate-cuprate RuSr2Eu 1.4Ce0.6Cu2O10-δ (Ru-1222) have been studied by a scaling analysis of the dc magnetization and ac susceptibility measurements. Non-linear M(H) curves reveal the presence of nano-size clusters with a net magnetic moment of ∼102 μB at 180 K, near the deviation from a Curie-Weiss behavior. On cooling, no scaling was observed down to 90 K, discarding the possibility of magnetic phase separation of collinear ferromagnetic particles. We explain this result in terms of a variable number of contributing particles, with a temperature dependent net magnetic moment. For 70 K ≤T≤ 90 K the scaling plots evidence the emergence of a system of non-interacting particles, which couple on further cooling. The observed cluster-glass features are preserved down to the lowest measured temperature (10 K); no signature of long-range order was detected. The frequency shift of the peak in the real part of the ac susceptibility does not follow the Vogel-Fulcher type dependence, as previously reported. The puzzling temperature dependence of the coercive field, HC(T), is correlated with the changes in the scaling factors.  相似文献
