Considering the quantum electrodynamics (QED) effect, we study the phase transition and Ruppeiner geometry of Euler-Heisenberg anti-de Sitter black holes in the extended phase space. For negative and small positive QED parameters, we observe a small/large black hole phase transition and reentrant phase transition, respectively, whereas a large positive value of the QED parameter ruins the phase transition. Phase diagrams for each case are explicitly shown. Then, we construct the Ruppeiner geometry in thermodynamic parameter space. Different features of the corresponding scalar curvature are shown for both the small/large black hole phase transition and reentrant phase transition cases. Of particular interest is the additional region of positive scalar curvature, indicating a dominant repulsive interaction among black hole microstructures, for the black hole with a small positive QED parameter. Furthermore, universal critical phenomena are observed for the scalar curvature of Ruppeiner geometry. These results indicate that the QED parameter has a crucial influence on the black hole phase transition and microstructure.  相似文献

The mobility edges and reentrant localization transitions are studied in one-dimensional dimerized lattice with nonHermitian either uniform or staggered quasiperiodic potentials.We find that the non-Hermitian uniform quasiperiodic disorder can induce an intermediate phase where the extended states coexist with the localized ones,which implies that the system has mobility edges.The localization transition is accompanied by the PT symmetry breaking transition.While if the non-Hermitian quasiperiodic disorder is staggered,we demonstrate the existence of multiple intermediate phases and multiple reentrant localization transitions based on the finite size scaling analysis.Interestingly,some already localized states will become extended states and can also be localized again for certain non-Hermitian parameters.The reentrant localization transitions are associated with the intermediate phases hosting mobility edges.Besides,we also find that the non-Hermiticity can break the reentrant localization transition where only one intermediate phase survives.More detailed information about the mobility edges and reentrant localization transitions are presented by analyzing the eigenenergy spectrum,inverse participation ratio,and normalized participation ratio.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically some phase transitions in liquid crystals in the presence of a laser beam. We found, in non-absorbing nematics, a laser-induced one-way transition from a paranematic to a nematic phase. In absorbing nematics we found, in addition to this transition, a one-way transition from a nematic to a paranematic phase with increasing laser intensity. Further, we found a reentrant nematic or a reentrant paranematic via paranematic or nematic phase respectively. In the case of smectic A, laser absorption results in a coupling between the positional and orientational orders. As a result, the smectic A to nematic transition can change from second order to first order and the smectic C to smectic A transition can become first-order in the field of a laser.  相似文献

The effect of doping of rare earth Pr3+ ion as a replacement of Sm3+ in Sm0.5Sr0.5MnO3 is investigated. Temperature dependent dc and ac magnetic susceptibility, resistivity, magnetoresistance measurements on chemically synthesized (Sm0.5−xPrx)Sr0.5MnO3 show various unusual features with doping level x=0.15. The frequency independent ferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition at higher temperature (∼191 K) followed by a frequency dependent reentrant magnetic transition at lower temperature (∼31 K) has been observed. The nature of this frequency dependent reentrant magnetic transition is described by a critical slowing down model of spin glasses. From non-linear ac susceptibility measurements it has been confirmed that the finite size ferromagnetic clusters are formed as a consequence of intrinsic phase separation, and undergo spin glass-like freezing below a certain temperature. There is an unusual observation of a 2nd harmonic peak in the non-linear ac susceptibility around this reentrant magnetic transition at low temperature (∼31 K). Arrott plots at 10 and 30 K confirm the existence of glassy ferromagnetism below this low temperature reentrant transition. Electronic- and magneto-transport measurements show a strong magnetic field—temperature history dependence and strong irreversibility with respect to the sweeping of magnetic field. These results are attributed to the effect of phase separation and kinetic arrest of the electronic phase in this phase separated manganite at low temperatures.  相似文献

An unusual structural phase transition sequence is observed in KLiSO4 by EPR: high temperature prototype phase -incommensurately modulated phase - commensurately modulated phase - incommensurately modulated phase - low temperature prototype phase (reentrant phase). The low temperature phase has the same symmetry C66 of the high temperature prototype phase. The main feature of the modulation are rotations of the sulphate tetrahedra, which were precisely determined in the commensurately modulated phase.  相似文献

We study the superfluid-to-Mott insulator transition of bosons in a two-legged ladder optical lattice of a type accessible in current experiments on double-well optical lattices. The zero-temperature phase diagram is mapped out, with a focus on its dependence upon interchain hopping and the tilt between double wells. We find that the unit-filling Mott phase exhibits a nonmonotonic behavior as a function of the tilt parameter, producing a reentrant phase transition between the Mott insulator and superfluid phases.  相似文献

We report high resolution x-ray diffraction studies of the structures and phase transitions of monolayer krypton, adsorbed on both powder and single crystal graphite substrates. A comprehensive series of powder diffraction profiles is used to construct the two dimensional phase diagram. The melting of the commensurate solid is shown to be strongly first order throughout the region where tricritical behavior was previously thought to occur; fluid solid coexistence extends up to the termination of the commensurate phase at 130 K. A disordered weakly incommensurate phase is shown to be a reentrant fluid, a system which may be described as a disordered network of domain walls and which evolves continuously into a more conventional 2D fluid. This evolution is marked by the disappearance of satellite peaks which are caused by the modulation of the overlayer by the substrate. The freezing of the reentrant fluid into the commensurate phase is shown to be consistent with a chiral Potts transition, its freezing into the incommensurate solid consistent with a dislocation binding transition.Single crystal experiments reveal the orientation of the weakly incommensurate phase. The reentrant fluid is found to have no visible orientational fluctuations, manifesting isotropic diffraction peaks. This is attributed to the strong epitaxy of domain walls. The incommensurate solid is shown to undergo an aligned-rotated transition which is well described by zerotemperature calculations.  相似文献

A recently introduced lattice model, describing an extended system which exhibits a reentrant (symmetry-breaking, second-order) noise-induced nonequilibrium phase transition, is studied under the assumption that the multiplicative noise leading to the transition is colored. Within an effective Markovian approximation and a mean-field scheme it is found that when the self-correlation time tau of the noise is different from zero, the transition is also reentrant with respect to the spatial coupling D. In other words, at variance with what one expects for equilibrium phase transitions, a large enough value of D favors disorder. Moreover, except for a small region in the parameter subspace determined by the noise intensity sigma and D, an increase in tau usually prevents the formation of an ordered state. We investigate the Hubbard model on the anisotropic triangular lattice by means of the cellular dynamical mean-field theory. The phase diagram determined in the Hubbard interaction versus temperature plane shows novel reentrant behavior in the Mott transition due to the competition between Fermi-liquid formation and magnetic correlations under geometrical frustration. We demonstrate that the reentrant behavior is characteristic of the Mott transition with intermediate geometrical frustration and indeed consistent with recent experimental results of organic materials.  相似文献

High pressure experimental studies show that in certain mesogenic materials, the nematic-smectic A (N-Sm A) transition temperature TAN exhibits nonlinear pressure dependence. As a consequence, the material shows reentrant phenomena that is a phase sequence nematic — smectic A — reentrant nematic appears. The characteristic features of this phenomenon have been addressed here within the framework of Landau-de-Gennes theory, where the coupling between nematic and smectic A order parameters (γ, λeff) plays an important role. The cubic coupling γ is chosen to be negative in order to form Sm A phase whereas the biquadratic coupling λeff is made large and positive to obtain reentrant behaviour. In the present work, we incorporate the pressure dependence in the theory through γ and λeff which justifies the experimental pressure dependence in the reentrant transition temperature . The pressure dependence of γ and λeff are employed in the calculation of excess specific heat capacity near the reentrant transition. The computed heat capacity shows strong pressure dependence near the reentrant transition which can be confirmed from high pressure measurement.  相似文献

近年来, 磁性纳米管的物理性质和相关应用得到了人们的广泛关注. 利用有效场理论研究了纳米管上双模随机晶场中Blume-Capel模型的磁化强度和相变性质, 得到了系统的磁化强度与温度和随机晶场的关系及其相图. 结果表明: 系统在稀释晶场、交错晶场和同向晶场中会表现出不同的磁学性质和相变行为; 稀释晶场和交错晶场会抑制系统的磁化强度, 导致其基态饱和值小于1, 而同向晶场则不会; 随着随机晶场参量的变化, 系统存在多个相变温度, 并呈现出三临界现象和重入现象.  相似文献

The transverse spin-2 Ising ferromagnetic model with a longitudinal crystal field is studied within the mean-field theory. The phase diagrams and magnetization curves are obtained by diagonalizing the Hamiltonian Hi of the Ising system numerically, and the first order-order phase transitions, the first order-disorder phase transitions, and the second-order phase transitions are discussed in details. Reentrant phenomena occur when the value of the transverse field is not zero and the reentrant diagram is given.  相似文献

Solid hydrogen deuteride (HD) has been studied to a pressure of 159 GPa and to low temperatures using near infrared spectroscopy. Of the two high pressure phases observed in hydrogen and deuterium, known as the BSP (broken-symmetry phase) and the A phase, only the BSP had been observed in the lower pressure region of the phase line of HD and it was unusually different from the homonuclear diatomic species with a reentrant behavior. In this Letter the BSP phase line is identified to its maximum pressure of 159 GPa. Infrared absorption reveals a transition to the A phase, observed for the first time in HD with onset at 157+/-3 GPa. A new phase of electric dipolar order that should occur at low temperature is discussed.  相似文献

We compute the free energy of solid and liquid diamond from first-principles electronic structure theory using efficient thermodynamic integration techniques. Our calculated melting curve is in excellent agreement with the experimental estimate of the graphite-diamond-liquid triple point and is consistent with shock wave experiments. We predict the phase diagram of diamond at pressures and temperatures that are difficult to access experimentally. We confirm early speculations on the presence of a reentrant point in the diamond melting line but find no evidence for a first order liquid-liquid phase transition near the reentrant point.  相似文献

We analyze the rhombic to square vortex lattice phase transition in anisotropic superconductors using a variant of Ginzburg-Landau theory. The mean-field phase diagram is determined to second order in the anisotropy parameter, and shows a reorientation transition of the square vortex lattice with respect to the crystal lattice. We then derive the long-wavelength elastic moduli of the lattices, and use them to show that thermal fluctuations produce a reentrant rhombic to square lattice transition line, similar to recent studies which used a nonlocal London model.  相似文献

The reentrant first-order pore filling transition in a Lennard-Jones (LJ) fluid confined between the parallel (100) planes of the face centered cubic (fcc) crystal is studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations in the canonical as well as grand canonical ensembles. Slit-like pores of the width allowing for the formation of only three adsorbate layers are used. It is demonstrated that the reentrant first-order pore filling transition, associated with the condensation of the middle layer, appears only when the height of the potential barrier between adjacent sites, VD, fulfills a condition VD∈[VD,min,VD,max]. The lower limit of VD (VD,min) is primarily determined by the stability of commensurate monolayers formed at both pore walls during the first step of adsorbate condensation, while the upper limit of VD (VD,max) depends on the stability of the commensurate three-layer structure. It is also shown that both the misfit between the size of adsorbed atom and the surface lattice as well as the pore width have a great influence on the phase behavior of confined fluids. Moreover, the effects of the phase shift between the confining lattices on the reentrant first-order filling transition are discussed.  相似文献

The phase diagrams and magnetization curves of a two-sublattice Ising metamagnet at finite temperature with longitudinal crystal field H are investigated by the use of an effective-field theory (EFT) with correlations. In addition to the second-order transition lines, the first-order transition lines are also presented, since a method to calculate the Gibbs free energy numerically at finite temperature within EFT is found in this work. The results show that there is no fourth-order critical point or reentrant phenomenon in the phase diagrams given by using EFT as found by using mean-field theory (MFT).  相似文献
