We have investigated the superconducting properties of the Bi1.7 Pb0.3Sr2Ca2−xCe x Cu3O10+δ system with x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1 by X-ray diffraction and magnetic susceptibility. The substitution of Ce for Ca has been found to drastically change the superconducting properties of the system. X-ray diffraction studies on these compounds indicate decrease in the c-parameter with increased substitution of Ce at Ca site and volume fraction of high T c (2 : 2 : 2 : 3) phase decreases and low T c phase increases. The magnetic susceptibility of this compound shows that the diamagnetic on set superconducting transition temperature (onset) varies from 109 K to 51 K for x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1. These results suggest the possible existence of Ce in a tetravalent state rather than a trivalent state in this system; that is, Ca2+ → Ce4+ replacement changes the hole carrier concentration. Hole filling is the cause of lowering T c of the system.  相似文献

The effect of oxygen nonstoichiometry and barium cation substitution on the structure and superconducting properties of Bi2Ba2−xMxCuO6 +δ(M = Sr, Ru, Rh, Pd, In, Sb or Pb;xchanged from 0 to 0.2) were studied. The role of charge carriers in ZnO2/CuO2 planes of Cu0.5Tl0.5Ba2Ca3Cu4−yZnyO12−δ material in bringing about superconductivity has been explained. Due to suppression of anti-ferromagnetic order with Zn 3d10 (S=0) substitution at Cu 3d9 sites in the inner CuO2 planes of Cu0.5Tl0.5Ba2Ca3Cu4O12−δ superconductor, the distribution of charge carriers becomes homogeneous and optimum, which is evident from the enhanced superconductivity parameters. The decreased c-axis length with the increase of Zn doping improves interlayer coupling and hence the three dimensional (3D) conductivity in the unit cell is enhanced. Also the softening of phonon modes with the increased Zn doping indicates that the electron–phonon interaction has an essential role in the mechanism of high-Tc superconductivity in these compounds.  相似文献

We report detailed study of non-magnetic impurity effects in a two-gap superconductor Lu2Fe3Si5 by replacing Lu with Sc. We find that the superconducting transition temperature Tc is drastically suppressed by slight substitution of Sc, while lattice constants change linearly with the substitution. These results strongly indicate that a slight substitution of Sc increases the inter-band scattering and causes averaging the amplitude of two gaps, which leads to the drastic suppression of Tc.  相似文献

Substitution of Ca by Y in TlCaBa2Cu2O y does not favour superconductivity, but substitution of Tl by Pb or of Ca by Ln (Ln = Y or rare earth) in TlCaSr2Cu2O y results in high Tc superconductivity (Tc π 60–90 K). TlCa1-xLn x Sr2Cu2O y is a new series of high Tc superconductors, but the x = 0.0 composition does not exhibit bulk superconductivity.  相似文献

Abstract

The properties of high Tc-ceramics (Y-123, Bi-1112, Bi-4334, Bi-4457, (Bi-Pb)-4457) under shock loading and subsequent heat treatment were investigated. The peculiarities of their structure, tecture creation, changes of superconductivity parameters depending on loading conditions at P~ 10GPa Were revealed, and regimes of heat treatment were determined. The possibilities of obtaining crack-free cylindrical superconducting shields as well as strong metal high-Tcceramic joints were demonstrated.  相似文献

Roles of the blocking layer that we named the layer which separates Cu–O2 layers more than 6Å have been studied by comparing two kinds of highT c copperoxide superconductors such as Bi(2212) and La(2126) compound. These following results have been obtained. The hole concentration decreases when Sr is substituted by La and increases when Bi is substituted by Pb in Bi(2212), and it can be optimized by these substitution. In La(2126)T c becomes up to 43K and the hole concentration (p;[Cu–O]+p) increases to 0.09 by the substitution of Ca for La and heat treatment under high oxygen partial pressure. The distance between Cu–O2 layers in both Bi(2212) and La(2126) are not changed by these substitution and heat treatment. We have found that the blocking layer has not direct roles for the maximumT c value of the material though by supplying carriers to Cu–O2 layers, it affects the actualT c value.  相似文献

Abstract

Optical effects of the first and second order with respect to the order parameter (1 is antiferromagnetic vector) have been studied in Cr2O3 around its phase transition at TN = 306 K from the antiferromagnetic to paramagnetic state. The magnetic linear birefringence is characterized by a rather large magnitude Δn sp ? 10?3 and by a large contribution of fluctuations of the order parameter to the birefringence. The study of the nonreciprocal optical rotation induced by an electric field has shown that the phase transition has a well defined first-order character. This result is also supported by the observation of a nonlinear (quadratic in the electric field) nonreciprocal rotation in a narrow temperature region ΔT = 0.15 K around TN . The temperature variation of the order parameter l(T) below TN is well described by a power low l where τβ = (TN - T)/TN and β = 0.355. We also observed a very reproducible effect of the rotation of the optical indicatrix in opposite directions for two types of antiferromagnetic domains. The possible explanation of this effect could be related to the so-called gyrotropic birefringence, an effect related to kili terms in the dielectric permeability.  相似文献

A comparative study of the thermomagnetic memory effects of J c in two weakly pinned low T c superconductors, Ca3Rh4Sn13 (CaRhSn) and Yb3Rh4Sn13 (YbRhSn), is presented. In both the systems, the peak effect (PE) phenomenon appears as an order-disorder transformation through stepwise amorphization of the flux line lattice (FLL). However, in CaRhSn. we can witness another disorder-driven transition (Bragg glass (BG) to a vortex glass (VG) in a distinct manner as in a single crystal of high T c YBa2Cu3O7-δ for Hc.  相似文献

We report on the ac dielectric permittivity (ε) and the electric conductivity (σω), as function of the temperature 300?K?T4IO3. The main feature of our measured parameters is that, the compound undergoes a ferroelectric phase transition of an improper character, at (368?±?1)K from a high temperature paraelectric phase I (Pm21 b) to a low temperature ferroelectric phase II (Pc21n). The electric conduction seems to be protonic. The frequency dependent conductivity has a linear response following the universal power law (σ( ω )?=?A(T s (T)). The temperature dependence of the frequency exponent s suggests the existence of two types of conduction mechanisms.  相似文献

The phase transition mechanism in squaric acid is reviewed from the viewpoint of the pressure dependence of the O—H—O bond length (2R). The two-dimensional pressure effect on Tc is extracted from the hydrostatic pressure behaviour by taking account of the uniaxial stress applied perpendicular to the layer planes. The result shows that if 2R(H2SQ) is stretched to 2R(D2SQ) the phase transition temperature 7H c of H2SQ coincides with TD c of D2SQ. This result supports the suggestion that the phase transition mechanism is of the order-disorder type.  相似文献

The nuclear quadrupole interaction of 204mPb in lead oxides has been measured by γγ time differential perturbed angular correlation. Ab-initio calculations of the electric field gradients and X-ray diffraction allowed the assignment of the detected nuclear quadrupole interactions to the different Pb sites in the PbO phases litharge and massicote as well as in Pb3O4. The TDPAC probe 204mPb was produced with a 204Bi/204mPb-generator at the home laboratory at the University of Leipzig. The use of a high performance liquid chromatography system increased significantly the yield, the specific activity of 204mPb, and reduced the acidic concentration of the eluate.  相似文献

We investigate the external hydrostatic pressure effect on the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of new layered superconductors Bi4O4S3 and NdO0.5F0.5BiS2. Though the Tc is found to have a moderate decrease from 4.8 K to 4.3 K (dTconset/dP = –0.28 K/GPa) for Bi4O4S3 superconductor, the same increases from 4.6 K to 5 K (dTconset/dP = 0.44 K/GPa) up to 1.31 GPa followed by a sudden decrease from 5 K to 4.7 K up to 1.75 GPa for NdO0.5F0.5BiS2 superconductor. The variation of Tc in these systems may be correlated to an increase or decrease of the charge carriers in the density of states under externally applied pressure. Detailed measurements of magnetization and ac susceptibility at low temperatures of 1% Zr-substituted Y9Co7 are presented. All results are indicative of itinerant weak ferromagnetism withT c ∼ 9.5 K. The zero-field magnetizations followT 2 orT 4/3 behaviour as in the Ni-substituted system. The estimated critical exponents areβ=0.38±0.03,γ=1.16±0.05. It is argued that the main effect of the non-magnetic Zr-substitution in Y9Co7 is to stabilize the ferromagnetic ordering by suppressing the ‘hopping’ of Co atoms along thec-axis sites of the hexagonal structure.  相似文献

Single grain YBa2Cu3O7−x (Y123) bulk superconductors with Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) and various amounts of BaCeO3 (5–45 wt.% by an increment of 10 wt.%) were fabricated by a seeded infiltration process. The addition of BaCeO3 was found to be effective for a modification of the microstructure and an improvement of the superconducting properties. The refinement effect for Y211 particles within an entire superconducting YBa2Cu3O7−x (Y123) matrix was achieved by BaCeO3 additions. The critical current density (Jc) values were increased as the BaCeO3 contents were increased (maximum Jc at 35 wt.% BaCeO3 addition). The Jc improvement by BaCeO3 additions might be due to the microstructure modifications associated with the finely distributed Y211 and BaCeO3 particles. With the addition of BaCeO3 the onset Tc values decreased slightly, indicating highly limited Ce substitution for Y site. It can be concluded that the BaCeO3 addition has a beneficial effect on the morphology, the size and the distribution of the Y211 inclusions and the microstructure regarding pinning improvement.  相似文献

Abstract

The effect of pressure on Tc was studied on 110 K class Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (1:1:1:2) compounds. Tc was varied with current in I3/2 , and defined at the value extrapolated to zero current. dTc /dP = + 0.18 K/kbar was obtained up to 10.9 kbars.  相似文献

Abstract

High resolution electron microscopy has shown that a modulated structure occurs in the Bi[sbnd]Sr[sbnd]Ca[sbnd]Cu[sbnd]O system. Electron diffraction and x-ray diffraction observations show that this modulation produces extra reflections. Diffraction patterns of the Pb-free material have superstructure reflections with wave vectors [0, 1/4.7, 1] and [0, ?1/4.7, 1]. These two waves vectors can generate all of the superstructure relections associated with each fundamental reflection. When PbO is added to the BSCCO system a new wave vector [0. 1/8.5, 0] is introduced. Observations show that within a single grain the two wave vectors coexist for a Pb and Bi ratio of about 0.25. This produces a non-uniform modulated structure which may be due to a superposition of the two wave vectors. The intensity of the [0, 1/4.7, 1] wave vector is substantially reduced in the Pb-modified material. The b' component of both wave vectors in incommensurate with the lattice period. The same superstructures occurs in both the low-Tc phase and the high-Tc phase.  相似文献

Magnetoresistance (MR) in bulk samples of LaMnO3 has been investigated by varying the Mn4+ content from 10 to 33 per cent by chemical means, without aliovalent doping. With the increase in Mn4+ content, the structure of LaMnO3 changes first from orthorhombic to rhombohedral and then to cubic and the material becomes increasingly ferromagnetic, exhibiting a resistivity maximum akin to an insulator-metal transition atT Peak, just below the ferromagneticT c. The magnitude of MR is highest in the cubic sample (with 33% Mn4+) around theT Peak, and negligible in the non-magnetic orthorhombic sample (12% Mn4+).  相似文献
