Entanglement irreversibility from quantum discord and quantum deficit   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We relate the problem of irreversibility of entanglement with the recently defined measures of quantum correlation--quantum discord and one-way quantum deficit. We show that the entanglement of formation is always strictly larger than the coherent information and the entanglement cost is also larger in most cases. We prove irreversibility of entanglement under local operations and classical communication for a family of entangled states. This family is a generalization of the maximally correlated states for which we also give an analytic expression for the distillable entanglement, the relative entropy of entanglement, the distillable secret key, and the quantum discord.  相似文献

We study the separability of symmetric bipartite quantum states and show that a single correlation measurement is sufficient to detect the entanglement of any bipartite symmetric state with a non-positive partial transpose. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the partial transposition of bipartite harmonic quantum states to be nonnegative. The conditions are formulated as an infinite series of inequalities for the moments of the state under study. The violation of any inequality of this series is a sufficient condition for entanglement. Previously known entanglement conditions are shown to be special cases of our approach.  相似文献

We devise the optimal form of Gaussian resource states enabling continuous-variable teleportation with maximal fidelity. We show that a nonclassical optimal fidelity of N-user teleportation networks is necessary and sufficient for N-party entangled Gaussian resources, yielding an estimator of multipartite entanglement. The entanglement of teleportation is equivalent to the entanglement of formation in a two-user protocol, and to the localizable entanglement in a multiuser one. Finally, we show that the continuous-variable tangle, quantifying entanglement sharing in three-mode Gaussian states, is defined operationally in terms of the optimal fidelity of a tripartite teleportation network.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of entanglement in a two-qubit system interacting with a squeezed thermal bath via a dissipative system-reservoir interaction with the system and reservoir assumed to be in a separable initial state. The resulting entanglement is studied by making use of concurrence as well as a recently introduced measure of mixed state entanglement via a probability density function which gives a statistical and geometrical characterization of entanglement by exploring the entanglement content in the various subspaces spanning the two-qubit Hilbert space. We also make an application of the two-qubit dissipative dynamics to a simplified model of quantum repeaters.  相似文献

We construct entanglement witnesses with regard to the geometric structure of the Hilbert-Schmidt space and investigate the geometry of entanglement. In particular, for a two-parameter family of two-qutrit states that are part of the magic simplex, we calculate the Hilbert-Schmidt measure of entanglement. We present a method to detect bound entanglement which is illustrated for a three-parameter family of states. In this way, we discover new regions of bound entangled states. Furthermore, we outline how to use our method to distinguish entangled from separable states.  相似文献

We give an explicit tight lower bound for the entanglement of formation for arbitrary bipartite mixed states by using the convex hull construction of a certain function. This is achieved by revealing a novel connection among the entanglement of formation, the well-known Peres-Horodecki, and realignment criteria. The bound gives a quite simple and efficiently computable way to evaluate quantitatively the degree of entanglement for any bipartite quantum state.  相似文献

We discuss the entanglement properties of bipartite states with Gaussian Wigner functions. For the separability, and the positivity of the partial transpose, we establish explicit necessary and sufficient criteria in terms of the covariance matrix of the state. It is shown that, for systems composed of a single oscillator for Alice and an arbitrary number for Bob, positivity of the partial transpose implies separability. However, this implication fails with two oscillators on each side, as we show by constructing a five parameter family of bound entangled Gaussian states.  相似文献

This paper investigates entanglement between two atoms in two distant cavities, which are connected by an optical fiber. We give an exact expression of the evolution of the whole system, and study the entanglement between the two atoms. We find that even the fiber-cavity coupling constant is smaller than the atom-cavity coupling constant, high degree entanglement between the two atoms is obtainable. This result gives a new prospect for experimental realization.  相似文献

We derive spin squeezing inequalities that generalize the concept of the spin squeezing parameter and provide necessary and sufficient conditions for genuine 2-, or 3-qubit entanglement for symmetric states, and sufficient condition for N-qubit states. Our inequalities have a clear physical interpretation as entanglement witnesses, can be easily measured, and are given by complex but elementary expressions.  相似文献

We propose a family of entanglement witnesses and corresponding positive maps that are not completely positive based on local orthogonal observables. As applications the entanglement witness of a 3x3 bound entangled state [P. Horodecki, Phys. Lett. A 232, 333 (1997)] is explicitly constructed and a family of dxd bound entangled states is introduced, whose entanglement can be detected by permuting local orthogonal observables. The proposed criterion of separability can be physically realized by measuring a Hermitian correlation matrix of local orthogonal observables.  相似文献

The thermal entanglement in a two-spin-qutrit system with two spins coupled by exchange interaction is investigated in terms of the measure of entanglement called ‘negativity’. We strictly show that for any temperature the entanglement is symmetric with respect to zero magnetic field. The behavior of negativity is presented for four different cases. We find that the entanglement may be enhanced under a nonuniform magnetic field. Because there is not any necessary and sufficient condition for quantum separability in systems of dimension 3⊗3, our results are qualitative, not quantitative.  相似文献

In this article,we derive the explicit entanglement and fidelity expressions for a larger class of two-qubit states,namely,a seven-parameter family of so called X-states.The analytical expressions of the entanglement,the output entanglement and the average fidelity are obtained for this general model by using the concept of concurrence and average fidelity.We study the relations between quantum entanglement,the output entanglement,and the average fidelity for standard teleportation of one-qubit and partial teleportation of two-qubit state.We discover that the average fidelity and entanglement is not a simple dependence relation.The higher entangled system is helpful for teleportation.  相似文献

We investigate dynamics of pairwise entanglement between two atoms for various entangled initial states. The initial entanglement shows an interesting time evolution, including entanglement sudden death. The initial portion of the excited state is responsible for the sudden death of the entanglement. The initial portion of excited–ground–ground state or the initial photons in the system can induce pairwise entanglement. Meanwhile, we find that our model gives a concrete example to support the two theorems in [F. Verstraete, K. Audenaert, J. Dehaene and B. De Moor, J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 34 (2001) 10327].  相似文献

It is shown that radiation pressure can be profitably used to entangle macroscopic oscillators like movable mirrors, using present technology. We prove a new sufficient criterion for entanglement and show that the achievable entanglement is robust against thermal noise. We show that Grover's algorithm can be described as an iterative change of the bipartite entanglement, which leads to a necessary and sufficient condition for quadratic speedup. This allows us to reestablish, from the entanglement perspective, that Grover's search algorithm is the only optimal pure state search algorithm.  相似文献

It is commonly believed that distillation of entanglement can be, in general, irreversible. Perhaps the strongest evidence is constituted by the existence of the bound entangled states. However, even a single example of state exhibiting this irreversibility has not been found so far. We show that for a family of states the process of distillation of entanglement is truly irreversible. These states have a nonzero amount of bound entanglement and, at most, a very small amount of free entanglement.  相似文献

By calculating entanglement measures and quantum violation of Bell-type inequality, we reveal the relationship between entanglement measure and the amount of quantum violation for a family of four-qubit entangled states. It has been demonstrated that the Bell-type inequality is completely violated by these four-qubit entangled states. The plot of entanglement measure as a function of the expectation value of Bell operator shows that entanglement measure first decreases and then increases smoothly with increasing quantum violation.  相似文献

We consider entanglement properties of pure finitely correlated states (FCS). We derive bounds for the entanglement of a spin with an interval of spins in an arbitrary pure FCS. Finitely correlated states are also known as matrix product states or generalized valence-bond states. The bounds become exact in the case where one considers the entanglement of a single spin with a half-infinite chain to the right of it. Our bounds provide a proof of the recent conjecture by Benatti, Hiesmayr, and Narnhofer that their necessary condition for nonvanishing entanglement in terms of a single spin and the memory of the FCS is also sufficient. We also generalize the study of entanglement in the Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki model by Fan, Korepin, and Roychowdhury. Our result permits a more efficient calculation, numerically and in some cases analytically, of the entanglement of arbitrary finitely correlated quantum spin chains.  相似文献
