Ideals in Morita Rings and Morita Semigroups

We characterize the lattice of all ideals of a Morita ring （semigroup） when the corresponding pair of rings （semigroups） in the Morita context are Morita equivalent s-unital （like-unitv） rings （semigroups）.     

L p -dual Quermassintegral sums

In this paper, we first introduce a concept of L _p -dual Quermassintegral sum function of convex bodies and establish the polar projection Minkowski inequality and the polar projection Aleksandrov-Fenchel inequality for L _p -dual Quermassintegral sums. Moreover, by using Lutwak’s width-integral of index i, we establish the L _p -Brunn-Minkowski inequality for the polar mixed projection bodies. As applications, we prove some interrelated results. Finite groups in which elements of the same order outside the center are conjugate

We prove that if G is a finite group in which the elements of the same order outside the center are conjugate,then either G is abelian or G(?)S_3.     

The structure of zero-divisor semigroups with graph K n ○K 2

This paper determines all commutative zero divisor semigroups whose zero divisor graph is a complete graph (finite or infinite), or a complete graph (finite or infinite) with one additional end vertex, and gives formulas for the numbers of all such semigroups with n elements. On the Rankin-Selberg problem: higher power moments of the Riesz mean error term

LetΔ_1(x;φ) be the error term of the first Riesz mean of the Rankin-Selberg problem. We study the higher power moments ofΔ_1(x;φ) and derive an asymptotic formula for the 3-rd, 4-th and 5-th power moments by using Ivic's large value arguments and other techniques.     

Convergence of one-leg methods for nonlinear neutral delay integro-differential equations

Some convergence results of one-leg methods for nonlinear neutral delay integro-differential equations (NDIDEs) are obtained. It is proved that a one-leg method is E (or EB) -convergent of order p for nonlinear NDIDEs if and only if it is A-stable and consistent of order p in classical sense for ODEs, where p = 1, 2. A numerical example that confirms the theoretical results is given in the end of this paper. On the value distribution of <Emphasis Type="Italic">ƒ</Emphasis> + <Emphasis Type="Italic">a</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">ƒ</Emphasis>′)<Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Superscript>

Let ƒ be a transcendental meromorphic function, a a nonzero finite complex number, and n ⩾ 2 a positive integer. Then ƒ + a(ƒ′) ⁿ assumes every complex value infinitely often. This answers a question of Ye for n = 2. A related normality criterion is also given. Exact traveling wave solutions and dynamical behavior for the (<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis> + 1)-dimensional multiple sine-Gordon equation

Using the methods of dynamical systems for the (n + 1)-dimensional multiple sine-Gordon equation, the existences of uncountably infinite many periodic wave solutions and breaking bounded wave solutions are obtained. For the double sine-Gordon equation, the exact explicit parametric representations of the bounded traveling solutions are given. To guarantee the existence of the above solutions, all parameter conditions are determined. Sample-path optimality and variance-maximization for Markov decision processes

This paper studies both the average sample-path reward (ASPR) criterion and the limiting average variance criterion for denumerable discrete-time Markov decision processes. The rewards may have neither upper nor lower bounds. We give sufficient conditions on the system’s primitive data and under which we prove the existence of ASPR-optimal stationary policies and variance optimal policies. Our conditions are weaker than those in the previous literature. Moreover, our results are illustrated by a controlled queueing system. Boundedness in Lebesgue spaces for commutators of multilinear singular integrals and RBMO functions with non-doubling measures

The boundedness in Lebesgue spaces for commutators generated by multilinear singular integrals and RBMO(μ) functions of Tolsa with non-doubling measures is obtained, provided that‖μ‖=∞and multilinear singular integrals are bounded from L1(μ)×L1(μ)to L1/2,∞(μ).     

Sharp Minima for Multiobjective Optimization in Banach Spaces

We study sharp minima for multiobjective optimization problems. In terms of the Mordukhovich coderivative and the normal cone, we present sufficient and or necessary conditions for existence of such sharp minima, some of which are new even in the single objective setting.This research was supported by a Central Research Grant of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Grant No. G-T 507). New classes of test polynomials of polynomial algebras

A polynomialp in a polynomial algebra over a field is called a test polynomial if any endomorphism of the polynomial algebra that fixesp is an automorphism. some classes of new test polynomials recognizing nonlinear automorphisms of polynomial algebras are given. In the odd prime characteristic case, test polynomials recognizing non-semisimple automorphisms are also constructed. Convergence of Newton‘’s Method and Uniqueness of the Solution of Equations in Banach SpacesⅡ

Some results on convergence of Newton‘s method in Banach spaces are established under the assumption that the derivative of the opderators satisfies the radius or center Lipschitz condition with a weak L average.     

Rosenthal type inequalities forB-valued strong mixing random fields and their applications

Some inequalities for moments of partial sums of aB -valued strong mixing field are established and their applications to the weak and strong laws of large numbers and the complete convergences are discussed. Real zeros of the zero-dimensional parametric piecewise algebraic variety

The piecewise algebraic variety is the set of all common zeros of multivariate splines. We show that solving a parametric piecewise algebraic variety amounts to solve a finite number of parametric polynomial systems containing strict inequalities. With the regular decomposition of semi-algebraic systems and the partial cylindrical algebraic decomposition method, we give a method to compute the supremum of the number of torsion-free real zeros of a given zero-dimensional parametric piecewise algebraic variety, and to get distributions of the number of real zeros in every n-dimensional cell when the number reaches the supremum. This method also produces corresponding necessary and sufficient conditions for reaching the supremum and its distributions. We also present an algorithm to produce a necessary and sufficient condition for a given zero-dimensional parametric piecewise algebraic variety to have a given number of distinct torsion-free real zeros in every n-cell in the n-complex. The Cauchy Problems and Global Solutions to the Deybe System and Burgers＇ Equations in Pseudomeasure Spaces

In this paper we consider the Cauchy problems of Burgers＇ equations and the Deybe system. Their existence and uniqueness of the time-global solutions for small initial data in some pseudomeasure spaces are obtained. The asymptotic stability of small solutions is proved. As an immediate result the existence and uniqueness of the self-similar solutions are also obtained provided the initial data satisfy the self-similar structures.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">W</Emphasis><Superscript>1,<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript>(R<Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Superscript>)-boundedness for maximal functions

In this paper, we get W ^1,p (R ⁿ )-boundedness for tangential maximal function and nontangential maximal function, which improves J.Kinnunen, P.Lindqvist and Tananka’s results. Modified likelihood ratio test for homogeneity in bivariate normal mixtures with presence of a structural parameter

This paper investigates the asymptotic properties of the modified likelihood ratio statistic for testing homogeneity in bivariate normal mixture models with an unknown structural parameter. It is shown that the modified likelihood ratio statistic has χ22 null limiting distribution.     

Positive Periodic Solutions of a Class of Non-autonomous Single Species Population Model with Delays and Feedback Control

With the help of a continuation theorem based on Gaines and Mawhin＇s coincidence degree, several verifiable criteria are established for the global existence of positive periodic solutions of a class of non-autonomous single species population model with delays （both state-dependent delays and continuous delays） and feedback control. After that, by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions which guarantee the existence of a unique globally asymptotic stable positive periodic solution of a kind of nonlinear feedback control ecosystem are obtained. Our results extend and improve the existing results, and have further applications in population dynamics.     

Frame Wavelets with Compact Supports for L^2（R^n）

The construction of frame wavelets with compact supports is a meaningful problem in wavelet analysis. In particular, it is a hard work to construct the frame wavelets with explicit analytic forms. For a given n × n real expansive matrix A, the frame-sets with respect to A are a family of sets in R^n. Based on the frame-sets, a class of high-dimensional frame wavelets with analytic forms are constructed, which can be non-bandlimited, or even compactly supported. As an application, the construction is illustrated by several examples, in which some new frame wavelets with compact supports are constructed. Moreover, since the main result of this paper is about general dilation matrices, in the examples we present a family of frame wavelets associated with some non-integer dilation matrices that is meaningful in computational geometry.
