It is well known that the category of real Lie supergroups is equivalent to the category of the so-called (real) Harish-Chandra pairs, see [DM], [Kost], [Kosz]. That means that a Lie supergroup depends only on the underlying Lie group and its Lie superalgebra with certain compatibility conditions. More precisely, the structure sheaf of a Lie supergroup and the supergroup morphisms can be explicitly described in terms of the corresponding Lie superalgebra. In this paper we give a proof of this result in the complex-analytic case. Furthermore, if (G, $ \mathcal{O} $ G ) is a complex Lie supergroup and H ? G is a closed Lie subgroup, i.e., it is a Lie subsupergroup of (G, $ \mathcal{O} $ G ) and its odd dimension is zero, we show that the corresponding homogeneous supermanifold (G/H, $ \mathcal{O} $ G/H ) is split. In particular, any complex Lie supergroup is a split supermanifold. It is well known that a complex homogeneous supermanifold may be nonsplit (see, e.g., [OS1]). We find here necessary and sufficient conditions for a complex homogeneous supermanifold to be split.  相似文献

Extending the results in [1], we determine the shape of the curve in S 2 which minimize the total absolute curvature in the set of nonclosed curves with fixed endpoints, end-directions and length. We deal with a more general class of curves than in [1].  相似文献

The totally nonnegative part of a partial ag variety G/P has been shown in [18], [17] to be a union of semialgebraic cells. Moreover, the closure of a cell was shown in [19] to be a union of smaller cells. In this paper we provide glueing maps for each of the cells to prove that (G/P)?0 is a CW complex. This generalizes a result of Postnikov, Speyer and the second author [15] for Grassmannians.  相似文献

We consider the quintic generalized Korteweg–de Vries equation (gKdV) $$u_t + (u_{xx} + u^5)_x =0,$$ which is a canonical mass critical problem, for initial data in H 1 close to the soliton. In earlier works on this problem, finite- or infinite-time blow up was proved for non-positive energy solutions, and the solitary wave was shown to be the universal blow-up profile, see [16], [26] and [20]. For well-localized initial data, finite-time blow up with an upper bound on blow-up rate was obtained in [18]. In this paper, we fully revisit the analysis close to the soliton for gKdV in light of the recent progress on the study of critical dispersive blow-up problems (see [31], [39], [32] and [33], for example). For a class of initial data close to the soliton, we prove that three scenarios only can occur: (i) the solution leaves any small neighborhood of the modulated family of solitons in the scale invariant L 2 norm; (ii) the solution is global and converges to a soliton as t → ∞; (iii) the solution blows up in finite time T with speed $$\|u_x(t)\|_{L^2} \sim \frac{C(u_0)}{T-t} \quad {\rm as}\, t\to T.$$ Moreover, the regimes (i) and (iii) are stable. We also show that non-positive energy yields blow up in finite time, and obtain the characterization of the solitary wave at the zero-energy level as was done for the mass critical non-linear Schrödinger equation in [31].  相似文献

An x-tight set of a hyperbolic quadric Q +(2n + 1, q) can be described as a set M of points with the property that the number of points of M in the tangent hyperplanes of points of M is as big as possible. We show that such a set is necessarily the union of x mutually disjoint generators provided that x ≤ q and n ≤ 3, or that x < qn ≥ 4 and q ≥ 71. This unifies and generalizes many results on x-tight sets that are presently known, see (J Comb Theory Ser A 114(7):1293–1314 [1], J Comb Des 16(4):342–349 [5], Des Codes Cryptogr 50:187–201 [4], Adv Geom 4(3):279–286 [8], Bull Lond Math Soc 42(6):991–996 [11]).  相似文献

It is known (“mathematical folklore”) that, to every function defined on [1,2], there exists a solution of f(2x) = 2f(x) on ]0,∞[ of which the given function is a restriction to [1,2]. With a little care in the definition on [1,2], with still a lot of arbitrariness left, the resulting solution will be continuous, even C on ]0,∞[ (a behaviour markedly different from that of the Cauchy equation f(x + y) = f(x) + f(y), which has f(x) = cx as only continuous solution on ]0,∞[, even though, with y = x, it degenerates into the above equation). If 0 is added to the domain and we choose the “arbitrary function” bounded on [1,2[, then the solution will even be continuous (from the right) at 0. However, if f is supposed to be differentiable at 0 (from the right), then f(x) = cx is the only solution on [0,∞[. p In this paper we present similar and further results concerning general, Cn (n ≤ ∞), analytic, locally monotonie or γ-th order convex solutions of the somewhat more general equation f(kx) = kγf(x) (k ≠ 1 a positive, γ a real constant), which seems to be of importance in meterology. Some of the results are not quite what one expects.  相似文献

Inspired by the monograph of Larsen/McCarthy, [26], in [10] and [11] the author started a series of articles concerning abstract multiplicative ideal theory along the problem lines of [26]. In this paper we turn to multiplicative lattices having the left Priifer property, that is to m-lattices satisfying the implication a1 + … + an ? B ? a1 +… + an ¦? B or even the multiplication property A ? B ? A ¦B, respectively. Clearly, studying such structures includes studying substructures of d-semigroups.  相似文献

Polynomials and exponential polynomials play a fundamental role in the theory of spectral analysis and spectral synthesis on commutative groups. Recently several new results have been published in this field [24,6]. Spectral analysis and spectral synthesis has been studied on some types of commutative hypergroups, as well. However, a satisfactory definition of exponential monomials on general commutative hypergroups has not been available so far. In [5,7,8] and [9], the authors use a special concept on polynomial and Sturm–Liouville-hypergroups. Here we give a general definition which covers the known special cases.  相似文献

This is the first of a series of papers on partition functions and the index theory of transversally elliptic operators. In this paper we only discuss algebraic and combinatorial issues related to partition functions. The applications to index theory are in [4], while in [5] and [6] we shall investigate the cohomological formulas generated by this theory. Here we introduce a space of functions on a lattice which generalizes the space of quasipolynomials satisfying the difference equations associated to cocircuits of a sequence of vectors X, introduced by Dahmen and Micchelli [8]. This space $ \mathcal{F}(X) $ contains the partition function $ {\mathcal{P}_{(X)}} $ . We prove a “localization formula” for any f in $ \mathcal{F}(X) $ , inspired by Paradan's decomposition formula [12]. In particular, this implies a simple proof that the partition function $ {\mathcal{P}_{(X)}} $ is a quasi-polynomial on the Minkowski differences $ \mathfrak{c} - B(X) $ , where c is a big cell and B(X) is the zonotope generated by the vectors in X, a result due essentially to Dahmen and Micchelli.  相似文献

The structure of the set of positive solutions of the semilinear elliptic boundary value problem depends on a certain non-degeneracy condition, which was proved by K.J. Brown [2] and T. Ouyang and J. Shi [12], with a shorter proof given later by P. Korman [8]. In this note we present a more general result, communicated to us by L. Nirenberg [13]. We also discuss the extensions in cases when the domain D is in R 2, and it is either symmetric or convex.  相似文献

The spectrum of a Gelfand pair of the form ${(K\ltimes N,K)}$ , where N is a nilpotent group, can be embedded in a Euclidean space ${{\mathbb R}^d}$ . The identification of the spherical transforms of K-invariant Schwartz functions on N with the restrictions to the spectrum of Schwartz functions on ${{\mathbb R}^d}$ has been proved already when N is a Heisenberg group and in the case where N?=?N 3,2 is the free two-step nilpotent Lie group with three generators, with K?=?SO3 (Astengo et?al. in J Funct Anal 251:772–791, 2007; Astengo et?al. in J Funct Anal 256:1565–1587, 2009; Fischer and Ricci in Ann Inst Fourier Gren 59:2143–2168, 2009). We prove that the same identification holds for all pairs in which the K-orbits in the centre of N are spheres. In the appendix, we produce bases of K-invariant polynomials on the Lie algebra ${{\mathfrak n}}$ of N for all Gelfand pairs ${(K\ltimes N,K)}$ in Vinberg’s list (Vinberg in Trans Moscow Math Soc 64:47–80, 2003; Yakimova in Transform Groups 11:305–335, 2006).  相似文献

In this note we formulate and prove a version of Cartan decomposition for holomorphic loop groups, similar to Cartan decomposition for p-adic loop groups, discussed in [3], [6]. The main technical tool that we use is the (well-known) interpretation of twisted conjugacy classes in the holomorphic loop group in terms of principal holomorphic bundles on an elliptic curve.  相似文献

In this note, we prove the following generalization of a theorem of Shi and Tam (J Differ Geom 62:79–125, 2002): Let (Ω, g) be an n-dimensional (n ≥ 3) compact Riemannian manifold, spin when n?>?7, with non-negative scalar curvature and mean convex boundary. If every boundary component Σ i has positive scalar curvature and embeds isometrically as a mean convex star-shaped hypersurface ${{\hat \Sigma}_i \subset \mathbb{R}^n}$ , then $$ \int\limits_{\Sigma_i} H \ d \sigma \le \int\limits_{{\hat \Sigma}_i} \hat{H} \ d {\hat \sigma} $$ where H is the mean curvature of Σ i in (Ω, g), ${\hat{H}}$ is the Euclidean mean curvature of ${{\hat \Sigma}_i}$ in ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ , and where d σ and ${d {\hat \sigma}}$ denote the respective volume forms. Moreover, equality holds for some boundary component Σ i if, and only if, (Ω, g) is isometric to a domain in ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ . In the proof, we make use of a foliation of the exterior of the ${\hat \Sigma_i}$ ’s in ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ by the ${\frac{H}{R}}$ -flow studied by Gerhardt (J Differ Geom 32:299–314, 1990) and Urbas (Math Z 205(3):355–372, 1990). We also carefully establish the rigidity statement in low dimensions without the spin assumption that was used in Shi and Tam (J Differ Geom 62:79–125, 2002).  相似文献

In [19], a \(q\) -weighted version of the Robinson–Schensted algorithm was introduced. In this paper, we show that this algorithm has a symmetry property analogous to the well-known symmetry property of the usual Robinson–Schensted algorithm. The proof uses a generalisation of the growth diagram approach introduced by Fomin [58]. This approach, which uses ‘growth graphs’, can also be applied to a wider class of insertion algorithms which have a branching structure, including some of the other \(q\) -weighted versions of the Robinson–Schensted algorithm which have recently been introduced by Borodin–Petrov [2].  相似文献

Hopf??s theorem on surfaces in ${\mathbb{R}^3}$ with constant mean curvature (Hopf in Math Nach 4:232?C249, 1950-51) was a turning point in the study of such surfaces. In recent years, Hopf-type theorems appeared in various ambient spaces, (Abresch and Rosenberg in Acta Math 193:141?C174, 2004 and Abresch and Rosenberg in Mat Contemp Sociedade Bras Mat 28:283-298, 2005). The simplest case is the study of surfaces with parallel mean curvature vector in ${M_k^n \times \mathbb{R}, n \ge 2}$ , where ${M_k^n}$ is a complete, simply-connected Riemannian manifold with constant sectional curvature k ?? 0. The case n?=?2 was solved in Abresch and Rosenberg 2004. Here we describe some new results for arbitrary n.  相似文献

We give definitions that distinguish between two notions of indiscernibility for a set ${\{a_{\eta} \mid \eta \in ^{\omega>}\omega\}}$ that saw original use in Shelah [Classification theory and the number of non-isomorphic models (revised edition). North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1990], which we name s- and str?indiscernibility. Using these definitions and detailed proofs, we prove s- and str-modeling theorems and give applications of these theorems. In particular, we verify a step in the argument that TP is equivalent to TP1 or TP2 that has not seen explication in the literature. In the Appendix, we exposit the proofs of Shelah [Classification theory and the number of non-isomorphic models (revised edition). North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1990, App. 2.6, 2.7], expanding on the details.  相似文献

Let S be a smooth cubic surface defined over a field K. As observed by Segre [5] and Manin [3, 4], there is a secant and tangent process on S that generates new K-rational points from old ones. It is natural to ask for the size of a minimal generating set for S(K). In a recent paper, for fields K with at least 13 elements, Siksek [7] showed that if S contains a skew pair of K-lines, then S(K) can be generated from one point. In this paper we prove the corresponding version of this result for fields K having at least 4 elements, and slightly milder results for # K = 2 or 3.  相似文献

We provide a new proof of the classical result that any closed rectifiable Jordan curve ${\Gamma \subset \mathbb{R}^3}$ being piecewise of class C 2 bounds at least one immersed minimal surface of disc-type, under the additional assumption that the total curvature of Γ is smaller than 6π. In contrast to the methods due to Osserman (Ann Math 91(2):550–569, 1970), Gulliver (Ann Math 97(2):275–305, 1973) and Alt (Math Z 127:333–362, 1972, Math Ann 201:33–35, 1973), our proof relies on a polygonal approximation technique, using the existence of immersed solutions of Plateau’s problem for polygonal boundary curves, provided by the first author’s accomplishment (The Plateau problem, Fuchsian equations and the Riemann–Hilbert problem. Mémoires de la Soc. Math. Fr. (to appear) arXiv: 1003.0978) of Garnier’s ideas in (Annales scientifiques de l’É.N.S. 45:53–144, 1928).  相似文献

We prove a rigidity theorem in Poisson geometry around compact Poisson submanifolds, using the Nash–Moser fast convergence method. In the case of one-point submanifolds (fixed points), this implies a stronger version of Conn’s linearization theorem [2], also proving that Conn’s theorem is a manifestation of a rigidity phenomenon; similarly, in the case of arbitrary symplectic leaves, it gives a stronger version of the local normal form theorem [7]. We can also use the rigidity theorem to compute the Poisson moduli space of the sphere in the dual of a compact semisimple Lie algebra [17].  相似文献
