Confinement in two-dimensional models with factorization

We show that the particle triplet of the O(3) σ-model can be obtained from the SU(2) bound state model by letting the (quark) mass of the fundamental particle approach infinity.

The pomeron in high energy hadron hadron scattering as well as the QCD nature of the pomeron are discussed. We claimed that the pomeron may be the tenser glueball ξ(2 230) with quantum number I G =0 +, J PC =2 ++ . Under this reggeized glueball model the cross section of high energy proton proton scattering and the coupling parameter of the pomeron nucleon, β , are calculated. The theoretical results of the present model are in good agreement with experimental data.     

Chiral constraints in dual models

An attempt is made to see how much of chiral symmetry is contained in dual models for pseudoscalar mesons. The chiral constraints are found to be contained in dual models as either dynamical restriction or kinematical factors. At the phenomenological level there is no serious inconsistency.     

On holomorphic factorization of WZW and coset models

It is shown how coupling to gauge fields can be used to explain the basic facts concerning holomorphic factorization of the WZW model of two dimensional conformal field theory, which previously have been understood primarily by using conformal field theory Ward identities. We also consider in a similar vein the holomorphic factorization ofG/H coset models. We discuss theG/G model as a topological field theory and comment on a conjecture by Spiegelglas.Research supported in part by NSF Grant PHY86-20266     

Gauge conditions in dual resonance models

Simplifying the arguments of Chang and Mansouri, we show that the Virasoro conditions in dual resonance models are related to geometrical and mechanical properties of classical two-dimensional media.     

Large N expansion in dual models

A ‘topological’ expansion, recently proposed for unitarization of planar dual models, is reformulated as a $\text{1}\text{N}$ expansion. The possible connection of this expansion to those used for multiparticle production at high energy is pointed out.     

The three-component dual deck model,factorization and double diffractive dissociation

We propose the generalization to double diffractive dissociation (DDD) of the three-component dual Deck model which was designed to describe single diffractive dissociation and successfully applied to N → Nπ dissociation. With no free parameter we get a very satisfactory agreement with the existing data in nn → (pπ^?)(pπ^?) including the observed pronounced structure in the momentum transfer distributions. We also predict unexpected correlations between the cos θ_J of the two decays, which, through factorization are typical of our three-component dual Deck model. A general discussion of factorization properties is given.     

Cosmological models in general relativity

LRS Bianchi type-I space-time filled with perfect fluid is considered here with deceleration parameter as variable. The metric potentialsA andB are functions of x as well as t. Assuming B′/B = f (x), where prime denotes differentiation with respect to x, it was found thatA = (l′/l)B andB = lS(t), wherel = f (x) andS is the scale factor which is a function of t only. The value of Hubble’s constantH ₀ was found to be less than half for non-flat model and is equal to 1.3 for a flat model     

Pomeron的胶子内容

Pomeron vertices in perturbative QCD in diffractive scattering

We analyze the momentum space triple pomeron vertex in perturbative QCD. In addition to the standard form of this vertex which is used in the context of total cross sections at high energies and in the QCD reggeon field theory, there exists an alternative form which has to be used in the study of high-mass diffraction. We review and analyze the relation between these two versions. We discuss some implications for the BK equation. Infrared behaviour and the bare Pomeron intercept in a Reggeon Field Theory including the Pomeron and thef-pole

An extension of the critical Reggeon Field Theory that includes both the Pomeron and thef-Reggeon fields is constructed. The quantum numbers of thef-Reggeon allows specific Reggeon-Pomeron couplings that have not been considered previously in standard works on secondary trajectories. We show the existence of a single fully stable fixed point among a total of 11 points. Unfortunately this point does not satisfy the factorization requirements imposed by thef-dominance of the Pomeron hypothesis and, in consequence, the critical Pomeron can not bef-dominated in aP+f model. We have also evaluated the value of the intercept of the bare critical Pomeron, using the method of integral representations of the propagators. The value obtained is clearly higher than the one previously obtained without thef-Pomeron interplay. With an adequate choice of the values of the bare coupling constants its value is in good agreement with the phenomenological one.     

The Pomeron in Closed Bosonic String Theory

We review the features of the pomeron in the S-matrix theory and in quantum field theory. We extend those general properties to the pomeron of closed bosonic string theory in a Minkowskian background. We compute the couplings of the pomeron to the first few mass levels of closed bosonic string states in flat space. We recognize the deviation from the linearity of the Regge trajectories in a five dimensional anti De Sitter background.
