Thermal lens spectrometry was used to study the dissociation kinetics of diethyldithiocarbamate complexes of copper(II), cobalt(III), and nickel(II) as a function of pH in the presence of chloride and sulfate ions. It is shown that, as distinct from conventional spectrophotometric and potentiometric measurements, the reversible dissociation of the test complexes and the irreversible oxidation of the ligand can be studied separately (at a level of n × 10–8n × 10–6 M) using thermal lens spectrometry. Because of work in more dilute solutions and due account of the kinetic features of the systems in question, thermal lens spectrometry provides a higher accuracy of the determination of stability constants for diethyldithiocarbamate complexes of copper(II), cobalt(III), and nickel(II). The adsorption of the diethyldithiocarbamate complexes in question from water–ethanol solutions (1 : 3) on Silasorb C18 silica is studied, and the adsorption constants are determined. The limits of detection of copper(II), cobalt(III), and nickel(II) diethyldithiocarbamates obtained in extraction–thermal-lens determination are n × 10–8 M.  相似文献

For the first time, the formation of a luminescent hexanuclear cluster has been used for the selective determination of copper. In aqueous solutions, the non-luminescent ligand N-ethyl-N′-methylsulfonylthiourea (EMT) forms an intensely red luminescent hexanuclear Cu(I)-cluster with an emission maximum at 663 nm only with Cu(II) ions. The intensity of the luminescence is proportional to the Cu(II) concentration and allows for selective Cu determinations in the μg l−1-range. Ubiquitous metal ions such as Fe(III), Al(III), Ca(II), Mg(II), and alkaline metal ions, as well as other heavy metal ions, e.g. Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), and Pb(II) are tolerated in concentrations up to 50 mg l−1. The detection limit for Cu(II) in aqueous solution, calculated according to Funk et al. [Qualitätssicherung in der Analytischen Chemie, Verlag Chemie, Weinheim, 1992], is 113 μg l−1. The cluster formation has been used for the quantitative analysis of copper in tap water and in industrial water, as well as for the localization of copper adsorbed by activated-sludge flocs.  相似文献

A new method is proposed for the determination of bismuth and copper in the presence of each other based on adsorptive stripping voltammetry of complexes of Bi(III)-chromazorul-S and Cu(II)-chromazorul-S at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). Copper is an interfering element for the determination of Bi(III) because, the voltammograms of Bi(III) and Cu(II) overlapped with each other. Continuous wavelet transform (CWT) was applied to separate the voltammograms. In this regards, wavelet filter, resolution of the peaks and the fitness were optimized to obtain minimum detection limit for the elements. Through continuous wavelet transform Symlet4 (Sym4) wavelet filter at dilation 6, quantitative and qualitative analysis the mixture solutions of bismuth and copper was performed. It was also realized that copper imposes a matrix effect on the determination of Bi(III) and the standard addition method was able to cope with this effect. Bismuth does not have matrix effect on copper determination, therefore, the calibration curve using wavelet coefficients of CWT was used for determination of Cu(II) in the presence of Bi(III). The detection limits were 0.10 and 0.05 ng ml−1 for bismuth and copper, respectively. The linear dynamic range of 0.1-30.0 and 0.1-32.0 ng ml−1 were obtained for determination of bismuth in the presence of 24.0 ng ml−1 of copper and copper in the presence of 24.0 ng ml−1 of bismuth, respectively. The method was used for determination of these two cations in water and human hair samples. The results indicate the ability of method for the determination of these two elements in real samples.  相似文献

Iron(III) can minimize the serious interferences from copper(II) and nickel(Il) on the determination of tellurium by hydride generation/atomic absorption spectrometry. The optimal concentrations were found to be 1 g l?1 and 2 g l?1 Fe (III) in 4.0 mol l?1 HCl in presence of nickel (II) and copper (II), respectively. The signals were only 25 % lower in a solution of 1.6 g 1?1 Ni(II) than for a nickel-free solution. For copper (II), reasonable sensitivity was retained in the presence of 100 mg l?1 Cu(II).  相似文献

The cyclic voltammetric behavior of carbon paste electrodes modified by direct admixing with the products of the reactions between ethanedial (glyoxal) and 5-amino-1,10-phenanthroline at 100°C and that of their iron(II) complexes is reported. The ligand(s) produced in absence of iron(II) are able to complex iron(II) and copper(II) ions reversibly, but other ions such as nickel(II), cobalt(II), cadmium(II) and manganese(II), if complexed, show no electrochemical activity. Admixing with the products of the reaction in the presence of excess of iron(II) ion, because of high insolubility and fast electron exchange, produces surfaces useful for amperometric detection in continuous-flow systems. The voltammetric and amperometric behavior in the presence of HSO?3 ions is reported in order to illustrate this application.  相似文献

Abstract

A method for the spectrophotometrio determination of copper(II), in the presence of iron(III) cations (excess), was stablished. The masking of iron is made with sodium fluoride salt in 50 % (v/v) water/acetone medium. In the recommended conditions, absorbances for cupric complexes are measured at 435 nm where molar absorptivity is 6.00 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1.

The stable ayetern obeys Beer's law and is suitable for the copper determination in concentration range from 2.0 to 9.0 mg 1?l. The iron(III) ion interference (until ca. 600 mg 1?l) can be completely suppressed. The influence of diverse ions and several others factore were studied.

The results show that copper(II) can be accurately determined by azide apectrophotometric method, if the samples were suitablely treated by the recommended procedure.  相似文献

The determination of copper (II) and iron (III) added to an anaerobic adhesive formulation was investigated by differential pulse voltammetry after application of a solution of the adhesive in acetone to a glassy carbon electrode. The best supporting electrolyte was 0.1 M sodium dodecyl sulphate, which ensured adequate surface contact with the adhesive coating. Under optimum conditions, copper (II) (as CuEDTA 2?) could be determined at levels down to 0.1 mg l?1 and iron (III) (in some complexed form) down to 2.0 mg l?1. The method is also capable of detecting the presence of poly (ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate, cumene hydroperoxide and N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine in a typical formulation.  相似文献

Silica gel with mercaptopropyl groups chemically bonded to its surface extracts copper from solutions with pH 2–9 with a recovery of 99.9%; the sorption equilibration time is no longer than 5 min. Ultraviolet irradiation of wet sorbates cooled to the liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K) generates yellow–orange luminescence (max = 585 nm), which was used as the analytical signal for the development of a procedure for the low-temperature sorption–luminescence determination of copper. The detection limit is 0.08 g per 0.1 g of the sorbent. The determination of copper is unaffected by the interference from 104-fold amounts of Zn(II), Cd(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Ca(II), Mg(II), and Al(III); 103-fold amounts of Fe(III); 30-fold amounts of Bi(III); tenfold amounts of Ag(I); and fivefold amounts of Cr(VI). The procedure was used for the determination of copper in natural water.  相似文献

The presence of two 2-electron anodic steps on polarographic curves of ethylene-1,2-bisdithiocarbamates together with the shifts of the half-wave potentials with pH and the adsorption phenomena, indicate a simultaneous reaction of both dithiocarbamate groupings at the electrode surface. In the homogeneous alkaline solutions, cadmium(II), copper(II) and lead(II) ions form an intermediate 1:1 compound with ethylene-1,2-bisdithiocarbamate in which only one dithiocarbamate group reacts. A 1 M sodium hydroxide solution is most suitable for the determination of the ethylene 1, 2-bisdithiocarbamate anion liberated from zinc or manganese derivatives in the analysis of pesticides ZINEB and MANEB. Waves of disodium ethylene-bisdithio-carbamates (NABAM) allow 1 · 10-5M solutions to be analysed.  相似文献

The application of silver(II) as a powerful oxidizing reagent in flow injection analysis is described in detail. Under the experimental conditions, the half-life of the very unstable silver(II) was about 120 s. Nevertheless, various organic and inorganic substances could be determined. Spectrophotometric detection was at 390 nm where silver(II) in nitric acid solutions absorbs strongly. As neither iron(III) nor copper(II) reacts with silver(II), oxidizable compounds can be determined in the presence of large amounts of these species. Special attention is given to manganese(II), which can be determined selectivity by this method in the range 10?5–10?4 mol l?1.  相似文献

Complex formation of primary dipeptide hydroxamic acids, L-Ala-L-AlaNHOH and L-Ala-L-SerNHOH, as well as the corresponding Z-protected ones, Z-L-Ala-L-AlaNHOH and Z-L-Ala-L-SerNHOH (Z = benzyloxycarbonyl), with iron(III), aluminium(III), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) was studied in aqueous solution by pH-potentiometric and spectroscopic (UV–Vis, EPR, CD, 1H NMR) methods. The exclusive formation of [O,O] chelated hydroxamate complexes was found with iron(III) and aluminium(III) with all the ligands. Formation of linkage isomers with the involvement of either [O,O] hydroxamate or [NH2,CO] chelates was detected both in the zinc(II)-L-Ala-L-AlaNHOH and -L-Ala-L-SerNHOH systems. Upon increasing the pH, none of these chelating sets are capable of preventing the hydrolysis of the metal ion. The formation of stable complexes was found in the nickel(II) and copper(II) systems above pH ∼ 6 with a [NH2, Namide, Nhydrox.] binding mode after deprotonation and coordination of the peptide amide and the hydroxamate group. With an excess of copper(II), the formation of trinuclear [Cu3HxL2]x+4 type (x = −4 to −6) complexes as the major species was also detected. Blocking the terminal amino group in the Z-protected ligands results in a dramatic decrease of the nickel(II) and zinc(II) binding strengths, and insoluble complexes with copper(II). No indication was found for the role of the hydroxyl group of the serine moiety in metal ion binding.  相似文献

A novel unsymmetrical multidentate ligand namely; N,N'-dimetyl-N,N'-didecyldithiodiglycolamide (DMD3TDGA) was synthesized and used as agent for the selective extraction of palladium(II) from hydrochloric acid solutions. A systematic investigation was carried out on the extraction of Pd(II) using DMD3TDGA. The quantitative extraction of Pd(II) with DMD3TDGA in n-dodecane is observed at ~4 M HCl. The main extracted species of Pd(II) is PdCl2. DMD3TDGA and IR spectra of the extracted species were investigated. The extraction of palladium(II) from various concentrations of hydrochloric acid solutions in the presence of metal ions, such as Pt(IV), Rh(III), Cr(II), Ni(II), Fe(III), Nd(III), Zr(II), and Mn(II) was carried. DMD3TDGA showed very high selectivity and extractability for Pd(II). Quantitative back extraction of Pd(II) was obtained in single contact using thiourea solution. The results obtained indicated that, excellent separation of Pd(II) from the investigated metal ions can be achieved. Five successive cycles of extraction/back-extraction, indicating excellent stability and re-utilization of this new extractant can be used for selective separation of Pd(II) from other elements in hydrochloric acid medium.  相似文献

The solubility and acid-base properties of benzoic acid N,N-dihexylhydrazide (BDHH) were studied. The extraction of copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II), iron(III), platinum(II), platinum(IV), chromium(III), chromium(VI), palladium(II), and molybdenum(VI) with this reagent was studied. It was shown that BDHH most efficiently extracts copper(II) from ammonia solutions and chromium(VI) from sulfuric acid solutions. In the extraction of copper(II), complexes with the [Cu(II)]: [BDHH] = 1: 1 and 1: 2 stoichiometries were found to form. The structure of the 1: 2 complex was suggested proceeding from its IR spectra. A copper(II) extraction isotherm was plotted.  相似文献

A liquid ion-exchange electrode containing a complex of mercury(II) with N-(O,O-diisopropylthiophosphoryl)thiobenzamide in carbon tetrachloride is described. The electrode shows excellent sensitivity and good selectivity. The slope of the calibration graph is 29.0 mV/pHg2+ in the pHg2+ in the pHg2+ range 2–15.2 in mercury(II) ion buffers. The electrode can be used for determination of 5 × 10?5–10?2 M Hg(II) in the presence of 10?2 M Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Mn(II), Fe(III), Cr(III), Bi(III) or Al(III) ions and in the presence of 10?3 M Ag(I) ions. It can bealso used for end-point detection in titrations with EDTA of 10?3–10?4 M mercury(II) at pH 2.  相似文献

The solvent extraction of vanadium by a chloroform solution of α-benzoin oxime was investigated. The most favorable condition for the extraction has been found in the pH rang of 1.8 to 3.0 in sulfate or chloride buffer solutions, but with better extraction efficiency when sulfate was used. A solution of 2×10?2 M α-benzoin oxime in chloroform was used, and 1×10?4 to 2×10?2 M vanadium(V) was extracted favorably in about 89% yield by a single extraction, and in about 97% yield by a double extraction. The effects of shaking time, concentration of α-benzoin oxime, and diverse ions have also been investigated. Vanadium(V) can be readily extracted without interference in the presence of copper(II), aluminum(III), iron(III), silver(I), zirconium(IV), and chromium(III).  相似文献

Gold ensembles for the trace level sensing of arsenic(III) in the presence of copper(II) are reported. The gold ensembles are fabricated using citrate capped gold nanoparticles which are chemically synthesised in an aqueous solution with an aliquot of this simply cast onto an economical and disposable screen printed electrode. After drying at room temperature, the gold ensembles are ready for use. The gold ensembles are explored towards the sensing of arsenic(III) in the presence of copper(II) using anodic stripping voltammetry where the corresponding stripping peaks are well resolved and using this protocol it is possible to readily detect 3 µg L?1 (3 ppb) with a detection limit of 0.4 µg L?1 (0.4 ppb). Proof‐of‐concept is also shown for the sensing of arsenic(III) in a canal water sample. Given the low cost of the sensor and ease of fabrication, the gold ensembles hold promise for the sensing of arsenic(III) in water samples where copper(II) may be present.  相似文献

A column solid-phase extraction method for the preconcentration and determination of cadmium(II), copper(II), cobalt(II), iron(III), lead(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) dithizone chelates by atomic absorption spectrometry has been described. Diaion HP-2MG was used as adsorbent for column studies. The influences of the various analytical parameters including pH of the aqueous solutions, amounts of ligand and resin were investigated for the retentions of the analyte ions. The recovery values are ranged from 95 to 102%. The influences of alkaline and earth alkaline ions were also discussed. The preconcentration factor was 375, when the sample volume and final volume are 750 and 2 ml, respectively. The detection limits of the analyte ions (k=3, N=21) were varying 0.08 μg/l for cadmium to 0.25 μg/l for lead. The relative standard deviations of the determinations at the concentration range of 1.8×10−4 to 4.5×10−5 mmol for the investigated elements were found to be lower than 9%. The proposed solid-phase extraction procedure were applied to the flame atomic absorption spectrometric determinations of analyte ions in natural waters (sea, tap, river), microwave digested samples (milk, red wine and rice) and two different reference standard materials (SRM1515 apple leaves and NRCC-SLRS-4 riverine water).  相似文献

Silica gel chemically modified with 1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-thiol groups recovered 99% of the copper(II) from solutions of pH 4–6; the adsorption equilibrium was attained in no more than 5 minutes. During irradiation with ultraviolet light, a yellow-orange luminescence (λmax = 575 nm) of surface copper complexes appeared in the phase of adsorbent cooled to 77 K; it was used as an analytical signal in the procedure for the low-temperature adsorption-luminescence determination of copper concentration. The detection limit was 0.3 μ g/0.1 g adsorbent. The calibration graph was linear up to 50 μg/0.1 g adsorbent. The determination of copper concentration is not affected by 10000-fold amounts of Zn(II), Cd(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Ca(II), Mg(II), and Al(III) and 300-fold amounts of Fe(III). The procedure was used to determine copper concentration in natural and technogenic waters.  相似文献

A sequential injection (SI) method in a lab-on-valve (LOV) format for simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of copper and iron has been devised. The detection chemistry is based on the complex formation of 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]aniline (5-Br-PSAA) with copper(II) and/or iron(II) at pH 4.6. Copper(II) reacts with 5-Br-PSAA to form the complex which has an absorption maximum at 580 nm but iron(III) does not react. In the presence of a reducing agent only iron(II)-5-Br-PSAA complex is formed and detected at 558 nm. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the determinable ranges are 0.1-2 mg l−1 for copper and 0.1-5 mg l−1 for iron, respectively, with a sampling rate of 18 h−1. The limits of detection are 50 μg l−1 for copper and 25 μg l−1 for iron. The relative standard deviations (n = 15) are 2% for 0.5 mg l−1 copper and 1.8% for 0.5 mg l−1 iron when determined in standard solutions. The recoveries range between 96 and 105% when determining 0.25-2 mg l−1 of copper and 0.2-5 mg l−1 of iron in artificial mixtures at copper/iron ratios of 1:10 to 5:1. The proposed SI-LOV method is successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of copper and iron in multi-element standard solution and in industrial wastewater samples.  相似文献
