A new class of unsymmetrical photochromic diarylethenes with an azaindole moiety has been firstly synthesized. Their properties, including photochromism, crystal structure, as well as fluorescence, were investigated systematically. The azaindole was connected directly to the central cyclopentene ring as a heteroaryl moiety and available to participate in the photoisomerization reaction. Each of the diarylethenes exhibited favorable photochromism, good thermal stability, remarkable fatigue resistance, and notable fluorescence switches in both solution and solid media. The substituents at the para-position of the terminal benzene ring affected evidently their properties: the electron-donating methoxy could be effective to enhance the cyclization quantum yield, while the electron-withdrawing cyano could shift the absorption maximum to a longer wavelength in both hexane and solid film. The results revealed that the introduction of azaindole moieties and different substituents played an important role in the photoisomerization process of these diarylethenes.  相似文献

A new class of photochromic diarylethenes bearing pyrrole and thiophene units with different length of alkyl chains at 2-position of thiophene rings have been synthesized. Their characteristics, including photochromism and fatigue resistance were investigated systematically, and each diarylethene derivative showed good photochromic properties whether in solution or in PMMA films. The alkyl group moiety was connected directly to the central cyclopentene ring as a heteroaryl unit and availably participated in photoisomerization reaction. And some properties, for example, the conversion ratio in the photostationary state(PSS) and the absorption coefficient of the ring-closed isomers in acetonitrile were significantly affected by the alkyl chain length. The results revealed that substituents of alkyl chain played an important role in the photoisomerization process of diarylethenes.  相似文献

Two new isomeric photochromic diarylethenes with a pyrrole unit have been developed. Their properties, including photochromic behavior, crystal structures, and fluorescent properties, have been investigated. The two isomeric compounds show distinctly different photochromism, both in solution and in the single-crystalline phase: one turns red upon photocyclization whereas the other turns blue, which may be attributed to the different substituent effects.  相似文献

Three new asymmetrical diarylethenes containing an azaindole moiety and a variable heteroaryl ring have been synthesized. Their properties, such as photochromism, fatigue resistance, thermal stability, acidichromism, and fluorescence, were systematically investigated to elucidate the effects of aromatic stabilization energies (ASE) of the heteroaryl moieties. The results indicated that thermal stability decreased with the increment of the aromatic stabilization energies of the variable heteroaryl rings in the order of thiazyl<thienyl<pyrrolyl. Moreover, the dual switching behaviors of these azaindole‐containing diarylethenes were also studied by the stimulation of acid/base and light. Addition of trifluoroacetic acid to the solutions of these diarylethenes resulted in obvious hypochromic shifts, and their N‐protonated forms also exhibited favorable photochromism.  相似文献

A novel class of photochromic diarylethene derivatives based on the hybrid skeleton of six-membered pyrimidine and five-membered thiophene moieties has been firstly synthesized. The substituent effects on their properties, including photochromism, fatigue resistance, and fluorescence, have been systematically investigated. All these diarylethenes showed significant photochromism and notable fluorescence switching properties in both solution and poly(methylmethacrylate) films. The electron-donating substituent enhanced their cyclization quantum yield, fatigue resistance, and fluorescence quantum yield, whereas electron-withdrawing group exhibited contrary effects.  相似文献

A new class of photochromic diarylethenes bearing both thiazole and benzene moieties has been developed, and the effects of substitution on their properties, including photochromism, fatigue resistance, and fluorescence properties have been investigated. They exhibited good photochromism and functioned as a fluorescence switch upon alternating irradiation with UV and visible light both in solution and in PMMA film. The electron-donating substituents could significantly enhance the cyclization quantum yield and depress the cycloreversion quantum yield whereas the electron-withdrawing groups functionalized an inverse action for these diarylethene derivatives. Relatively big differences exist among the properties of these diarylethenes which may be attributed to the different substituent effects.  相似文献

Moreover, the different substituents had a significant effect on their properties. A new class of diarylethenes based on a hybrid structure of naphthalene and thiophene have been developed and their properties including photochromism, fatigue resistance, and fluorescence have been investigated. The condensed aromatic naphthalene was connected directly to the central cyclopentene ring as an aryl moiety and available to participate in the photoinduced cyclization reaction. All of these compounds have exhibited good photochromism, notable fatigue resistance, and obvious fluorescence photo-switches in both solution and polymer matrix. Nevertheless, significantly different properties have been observed among these diarylethenes, which may be attributed to the effect of different substituent groups. Compared with the analogs bearing other six-membered aryl unit, the naphthalene moiety is more conducive, which leads to higher molar absorption coefficient and blue shift of the absorption maximum.  相似文献

Four new diarylethene derivatives based on thiophene or thiazole moieties were designed and synthesized, and the structures of compounds 4a and 5a were determined by single‐X‐ray diffraction analysis. All of these compounds showed reversible photochromic reactions and notable fluorescence photo‐switches in solution. Furthermore, diarylethenes 4a and 5a also showed good photochromism in single crystal phase. The electron‐donating and electron‐withdrawing substituents play the same role in the photochromic process: red‐shifted absorption and fluorescence ( 1a and 2a compared with 3a ). The fluorescent modulation efficiencies of asymmetrical diarylethenes 4 and 5 were significantly enhanced compared with the similar dithienylethenes, and the fatigue resistance of 5 was much better than 4 , which showed that the diarylethene bearing electron‐withdrawing group could improve its fatigue resistance.  相似文献

A new class of unsymmetrical isomeric diarylethenes bearing a terminal pyridine group was synthesized and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The effects of the nitrogen atom position in the pyridine group on their properties including photochromism, acidchromism, and fluorescence were investigated systematically. Among the three isomeric derivatives, the cyclization quantum yield and the absorption maxima of the ortho-substituted diarylethene were the biggest, while the fluorescence quantum yield of the para-substituted diarylethene was the biggest. Furthermore, the three isomeric diarylethenes exhibited multi-addressable switching behaviors by the stimulation of acid/base and light. Addition of trifluoroacetic acid to solutions of these diarylethenes produced the protonated derivatives, which also showed excellent photochromic behaviors, but only the para-substituted diarylethene exhibited a notable color change of solution from crimson to violet. The results revealed that the effects of the nitrogen atom position in the terminal pyridine group played a very important role during the process of photoisomerization for these isomeric diarylethene derivatives.  相似文献

Fine‐tuning of the molecular structure of organic bistable compounds to improve their photochromic performance or to introduce additional functions remains an important issue in the development of photoresponsive materials. Diarylethenes bearing heterocyclic moieties belong to the most intensively studied class of organic photochromes due to their excellent photochemical properties. A huge number of diarylethenes have been synthesized so far. Analysis of the literature data shows that there are very worthy examples of diarylethenes developed by the Irie and Feringa groups, which can be the common starting material for a number of diarylethenes functionalized in hetaryl moieties. We refer to these structures as photochromic diarylethene precursors. These diarylethenes have proved to be very useful in the construction of functional molecules with desired properties. On the other hand, in our groups, we have elaborated on diarylethene precursors with modifiable ethene bridges. In this review, we have collected examples of such structures and their chemical modifications, leading to the improvement or fine‐tuning of photochromic switching.  相似文献

Two novel hybrid isomeric diarylethenes with pyridine and pyrrole units have been synthesized by a parallel reaction, and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. They exhibited distinctly different photochromic behavior and fluorescent properties upon photoirradiation due to the different substituent effects. In the crystalline phase, one is photoactive with an anti-parallel conformation, while the other is non-photoactive with a parallel conformation. Moreover, the closed-ring isomers showed different acidichromism in dichloromethane. The absorption maxima of one showed extraordinarily large red shifts of 120 nm, whereas that of the other exhibited extraordinarily large blue shifts of 194 nm.  相似文献

A diarylethene photoswitch was covalently connected to two small triplet sensitizer moieties in a conjugated and nonconjugated fashion and the photochromic performance of the resulting compounds was investigated. In comparison with the parent diarylethene (without sensitizers) and one featuring saturated linkages, the conjugated photoswitch offers superior fatigue resistance upon visible‐light excitation due to effective triplet energy transfer from the biacetyl termini to the diarylethene core. Our design makes it possible to switch diarylethenes with visible light in both directions in a highly efficient and robust fashion based on extending π‐conjugation and by‐product‐free ring‐closure via the triplet manifold.  相似文献

由于具有多种潜在的应用价值, 光致变色化合物作为高级功能材料的研究在国内外广受关注. 在众多的有机光致变色化合物中, 二芳基乙烯特别是二噻吩乙烯, 由于其具有良好的热稳定性和优良的耐疲劳度而成为这类化合物的杰出代表. 近年来, 有关二芳基乙烯类光致变色化合物的各种合成及性能方面的报道已涉及到信息存储、分子开关、逻辑电路、液晶显示、磁性材料等众多领域. 主要是从有机合成的角度, 对这类材料的合成进行了较为全面的概括, 对各种合成方法分别加以介绍和分析, 对其发展趋势予以探索和展望.  相似文献

Two novel spirobifluorene‐diarylethenes compounds with furan ( 9a ) and thiophen ( 8a ) as heterocyclic aryl groups were successfully synthesized, and their structures were fully characterized with FTIR, NMR, mass spectra (MS), and elemental analysis. Their photochromic properties were examined. The results indicated that they showed good photochromic behaviors in hexane and acetonitrile. The fluorescence emission was quenched along with the photochromism from open ring to closed ring. Large fluorescence emission blue‐shift was clearly observed in polar solvents. Furthermore, the thermal stability of 8a and 9a was greatly improved by introducing spirobifluorene group into the molecules. The 5% loss weight temperature of 9a was 59°C higher than that of 10a without spirobifluorene.  相似文献

Symmetric and nonsymmetric diarylethenes with a 2,5-dihydropyrrole bridging unit have been prepared, and the photochromic properties are investigated. Both symmetric and nonsymmetric diarylethenes with 2,5-dihydropyrrole bridging units undergo reversible ring-opening and ring-closing photoisomerization reactions in nonpolar solvents with UV/vis light, and some of them exhibit good fatigue resistance and no marked degradation detected after 10 cycles via an on/off switch. In polar solvents, however, photochromic diarylethenes with 2,5-dihydropyrrole bridging units produce 3,4-diarylpyrrole derivatives instead of the ring-closing isomer of diarylethenes with UV light irradiation. A class of N-substituted 3,4-diphenylethenes with 2,5-dihydropyrrole bridging units were prepared and used as templates to investigate the conversion reactions. The mechanism of photoconversion of 3,4-diaryl-2,5-dihydropyrroles to 3,4-diarylpyrroles was explored as well.  相似文献

3,4-Diaryl-2,5-dihydropyrrole with multiphotochromophore units la was synthesized and its photochromic properties were investigated. It showed that all photochromophore units underwent reversible ring-opening (1a) and ring-closing (1b) photoisomerization reactions in both solution and polymer film with UV/Vis light irradiation, and photochromic properties of la were similar to those of photochromic diarylethene with monophotochromophore 2a. It was found that the optical density of lb was increased linearly with increase of the photochromophore units by comparison with that of 2b in the same condition. It was also found that no significant changes in absorption band and response time between diarylethenes with multiphotochromophores and monophotochromophore were detected in the same condition.  相似文献

Two photochromic coumarin-based dithienylethenes were synthesized by one-pot nucleophilic addition reaction of alkyne and phenol. Both diarylethenes exhibited reversible photochromism, but their conformation played an important role in their photochromic properties. The derivative with high conjugation degree showed switchable fluorescence, providing a valuable reference for design of novel photochromic diarylethenes.  相似文献

Oxidation of 2,3-diarylcyclopent-2-en-1-ones with m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid gave new thermally stable sulfone derivatives of photochromic diarylethenes. The spectral properties of the compounds obtained (the wavelengths of the maxima of the absorption bands of their initial and cyclic forms, the quantum yields of photocyclization and photobleaching reactions) as well as their thermal stability and fatigue resistance were examined. The relationship between the structures of the synthesized compounds and their photochromic properties was determined. The energy differences between the ground-state molecules of the starting and photoinduced isomers of 2,3-diarylcyclopent-2-en-1-ones were calculated by the DFT/B3LYP1 method with the 6-31G(d) basis set. The calculated energy differences can be used to predict and explain such spectral characteristics of photochromic diarylethenes as the thermal stability of photoinduced isomers and the quantum yields of cycloreversion reactions.  相似文献

Three water-soluble diarylethenes with glycosyltriazolyl groups and variable phenyl units have been synthesized, and their properties, such as water solubility, photochromism, and fluorescence have been discussed. Upon alternating irradiation with UV and visible light, each of the diarylethenes exhibited favorable photochromism and functioned as fluorescent switches in water. Experimental results showed that their water solubility as well as absorption features, cyclization quantum yields, photoconversion ratios, thermal stability, and fatigue resistance exhibited a strong correlation with the number of phenyl-bridged glucosyltriazolyl groups in diarylethene systems. The absorption maximum, thermal stability, and fatigue resistance were significantly improved, but the water solubility and fluorescent modulation efficiency were suppressed with the increase of the number of phenyl-bridged glucosyltriazolyl groups for these diarylethene derivatives.  相似文献
