We use time-resolved optical reflectivity and x-ray diffraction with femtosecond resolution to study the dynamics of the structural order parameter of the charge density wave phase in TiSe2. We find that the energy density required to melt the charge density wave nonthermally is substantially lower than that required for thermal suppression and is comparable to the charge density wave condensation energy. This observation, together with the fact that the structural dynamics take place on an extremely fast time scale, supports the exciton condensation mechanism for the charge density wave in TiSe2.  相似文献

A strong volume contraction of 0.2 ± 0.1 unit cell volumes per displaced atom has been observed in electron irradiated 1T-TaS2. It happens along the c-axis and is explained as a consequence of an increase in the interlayer coupling caused by the metallic interstitials in the Van der Waals gap. Simultaneous resistivity measurements revealed the suppression of the ordered charge density wave phases. The volume effect causing this suppression is one order of magnitude smaller than under external pressure 13,14. This suggests that the defects perturb the charge density waves mostly locally.  相似文献

A theoretical development of the third-order nonlinear scattering of sound from two noncollinear ultrasonic beams produced by baffled piston sources is presented. The third-order intermodulation (IM3) frequency components are derived by exploiting cascaded second-order nonlinear effects where the quadratic nonlinear interaction of second-order frequency components with first-order (primary) frequency components is considered. It is shown that cascaded second-order interactions generate intermodulation frequency components that are equivalent to those generated by cubic nonlinear effects. Comparison of measured and modeled amplitude sweeps demonstrate the three-to-one gain in decibels of the amplitudes of the third-order intermodulation frequency components to that of the primary frequency components. Measurements are also presented for the farfield interaction of distantly spaced sources, which results in a highly focused ultrasonic parametric array. Also considered are the nearfield interaction of closely spaced sources, which results in scattering, with good agreement to the theory.  相似文献

The isoscalar E2 charge for a closed shell plus one nucleon is studied by three methods: (a) a trial product wave function with uniform scaling of the oscillator length parameters; (b) Random Phase Approximation (R.P.A.), (c) a less restricted trial product wave function. Density functional theory (DFT) was used to investigate computationally cobalt(I)‐catalyzed hydroacylation of vinylsilanes and alkyl aldehydes to give ketones. Calculation indicated that cobalt(I)‐catalyzed hydroacylation had eight possible reaction pathways. In the cobalt‐hydride complexes IM2a and IM2b, the hydrogen migration occurred prior to the carbon–carbon bond‐forming reaction. In the complexes IM3a1 and IM3b1, the carbonyl elimination reaction occurred prior to the direct reductive elimination reaction. In the cobalt–carbonyl complexes IM4a and IM4b, the carbonyl insertion reaction was much easier to achieve than the decarbonylation reaction. The dominant reaction pathway was the reaction channel IM1a → TS1a → IM2a → TS2a1 → IM3a1 → TS4a → IM4a → TS5a → IM5a → TS6a → IM6a, and the reductive elimination reaction was the rate‐determining step for this channel, so the dominant product predicted theoretically was the linear ketone. Furthermore, the solvation effect was remarkable, and it decreased generally the free energies of the species. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The effect of quantization of charge carriers in a magnetic field on the wave properties of zinc is investigated theoretically. It is shown that the cyclotron absorption by holes in the microwave range acquires a clearly manifested quantum structure: the absorption as a function of the magnetic field has the form of a sequence of narrow quantum peaks separated by deep minima. The suppression of cyclotron absorption at the minima is so strong that the propagation of an electron doppleron—the mode characterized by strong damping under classical conditions and not observed in zinc—becomes possible.  相似文献

The fractional statistics of the anyons proposed by Wilczek are demonstrated in a simple manner using single-valued wave functions. Taking the magnetic flux tube and charge comprising each anyon to be bosons, the wave function for two identical anyons is symmetrical with respect to the interchange, but for ρΦ = π, where ρ is the charge and Φ the magnetic flux in each anyon, the anyons behave as fermions, and for other values of ρΦ, the anyons obey intermediate statistics.  相似文献

The calculations of the ground and a few low-lying excited states of impurity in the quantum wells (QW's) are presented by making use of a functional variational approach. A new trial wave function is proposed. It is taken by the product of the exact subband state in the Q W and the state of two-dimensional (2D) hydrogenic-like donor with an effective charge distribution along the z-direction (perpendicular to the well interfaces). The variation of binding energies of the donor states in the QW with the well-width is calculated. The calculated result is compared with that obtained by the earlier variational method. The functional variational approach proposed here has some benefits such as, to bring a great flexibility and to apply to a relatively large species of trial wave functions.  相似文献

But Smith, Neil Mohon, Sweatt independently reported that their results differ from that of Meier. The processes of acoustical generation of the third-order wave harmonic by nonlinear collinear interaction of the pure third order and the twofold interaction of the second order are considered. It is shown that, in tomography schemes that are based on collinear interaction of waves, the interfering signal considerably exceeds the useful signal that brings information on the acoustical nonlinear parameter of the third order already over short wave propagations. The solutions to the Burgers’ equation and the Riemann waves equation have been numerically modeled to verify theoretical results. It is concluded that, using the nonlinear third-order effects in diagnostics becomes possible only when the tomography schemes are based on the noncollinear interaction of waves.  相似文献

为解决红外图像弱小目标检测技术中的云层和地物等复杂自然背景抑制这一难题,提出了一种基于多尺度核归一化策略的弱小目标复杂背景抑制新方法。首先,采用波原子变换对图像进行尺度和方向分解,提取图像的多尺度和方向细节特征;然后,根据目标和背景杂波信号子带系数之间的差异,对波原子变换后各子带系数采用设计的核局部归一化调整函数进行修改,以达到有效地抑制原始图像中背景边缘、轮廓和纹理等信息和增强目标信号系数强度的目的;最后,重构调整后各个子带系数获得抑制背景后的目标图像。实验结果显示,与小波和最大中值滤波方法相比较,该方法对包含弱小目标的红外复杂背景都具有良好抑制效果,信杂比增益和背景抑制因子分别提高到3倍和4倍以上。  相似文献

An additional fundamental frequency in the quasiperiodic noise generated by NbSe3 is obtained in a model which assumes the presence of objects which move more slowly than the sliding charge density wave. The objects are driven by their interaction with the charge density wave and the lattice potential. The model is in close agreement with the observations of Richard, Monceau and Renard.  相似文献

The quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor (Per)2Pt(mnt)2 exhibits a charge density wave ground state below 8 K. Magnetoresistance and magnetization measurements show that the charge density wave is suppressed with magnetic fields of order 20 T, above which a high resistance state, with a cascade of subphases, appears. This new state, tentatively identified as a field induced charge density wave, reenters a low resistance state above 40 T. The results are presented in light of theoretical work [D. Zanchi et al. Phys. Rev. B 53, 1240 (1996)]] involving field induced charge density wave ground states in high magnetic fields.  相似文献

A method for measuring complex fast nonlinear optical nonlinearities χ (3) in waveguides is demonstrated. It is based on a comparison between the optical nonlinearities of two different samples under identical experimental circumstances and thus is independent of laser pulse parameters. Heterodyne detected four-wave mixing is employed to achieve information about both amplitude and phase of χ (3). To increase the sensitivity, a procedure for suppression of the limiting parasitic signals due to the photodiode nonlinearity is suggested. Results obtained from a short piece of hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber are presented.  相似文献

Two kinds of functions of the impurity are studied for the charge density wave in a linear conductor. It is pointed out that the impurity-induced Friedel oscillation of electron density as well as the symmetry breaking effect of impurity govern the process of the onset and the pinning of the charge density wave.  相似文献

The optical reflectivity as a function of temperature of the title compound for x =0, 5 and 12 has been measured over a broad spectral range from 4 meV up to 12 eV. Our findings suggest a very anisotropic dynamics of the charge excitation spectrum when measuring along or perpendicular to the ladders. Moreover, a metal-insulator transition develops at low temperatures, leading to a suppression of Drude spectral weight in the far and mid-infrared spectral range. We identify this behaviour as a consequence of the localization effects for small Ca substitution, and of the possible formation of a charge density wave condensate for large Ca substitution. The resonance enhancement of the third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility χ(3) for degenerated four-wave mixing, due to the transition between valence band and conduction band, in InGaN/GaN multi-quantum wells have been calculated. The band structures of valence bands and conduction bands and the wave functions are calculated by the theory of effective mass. The contributions of the subbands of holes (heavy holes, light holes and the spin-orbit split-off bands) to χ(3) in the different directions are discussed. The correlations between χ(3) in the different directions and the width of the quantum wells, and the constituents of the quantum wells are obtained.  相似文献
