We study Hessian fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations and show that the second derivatives of viscosity solutions of those equations (in 12 or more dimensions) can blow up in an interior point of the domain. We prove that the optimal interior regularity of such solutions is no more than C1+?, showing the optimality of the known interior regularity result. The same is proven for Isaacs equations. We prove the existence of non-smooth solutions to fully nonlinear Hessian uniformly elliptic equations in 11 dimensions. We study also the possible singularity of solutions of Hessian equations defined in a neighborhood of a point and prove that a homogeneous order 0<α<1 solution of a Hessian uniformly elliptic equation in a punctured ball should be radial.  相似文献

In this paper we provide a characterization of second order fully nonlinear CR invariant equations on the Heisenberg group, which is the analogue in the CR setting of the result proved in the Euclidean setting by A. Li and the first author in Li and Li (2003) [21]. We also prove a comparison principle for solutions of second order fully nonlinear CR invariant equations defined on bounded domains of the Heisenberg group and a comparison principle for solutions of a family of second order fully nonlinear equations on a punctured ball.  相似文献

We introduce, along the lines of [4], an integer valued degree for second order fully nonlinear elliptic operators which is invariant under homotopy within elliptic operators. We also give some applications to the bifurcation problem for nonlinear elliptic equations. We study microscopic spacetime convexity properties of fully nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations. Under certain general structure condition, we establish a constant rank theorem for the spacetime convex solutions of fully nonlinear parabolic equations. We introduce a method, based on the Poincaré–Hopf index theorem, to classify solutions to overdetermined problems for fully nonlinear elliptic equations in domains diffeomorphic to a closed disk. Applications to some well-known nonlinear elliptic PDEs are provided. Our result can be seen as the analogue of Hopf's uniqueness theorem for constant mean curvature spheres, but for the general analytic context of overdetermined elliptic problems.  相似文献

We establish Lipschitz regularity for solutions to a family of non-isotropic fully nonlinear partial differential equations of elliptic type. In general such a regularity is optimal. No sign constraint is imposed on the solution, thus limiting free boundaries may have two-phases. Our estimates are then employed in combination with fine regularizing techniques to prove existence of viscosity solutions to singular nonlinear PDEs.  相似文献

In this paper, a variable-coefficient Jacobi elliptic function expansion method is proposed to seek more general exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. Being concise and straightforward, this method is applied to the (2+1)-dimensional Nizhnik-Novikov-Vesselov equations. As a result, many new and more general exact non-travelling wave and coefficient function solutions are obtained including Jacobi elliptic function solutions, soliton-like solutions and trigonometric function solutions. To give more physical insights to the obtained solutions, we present graphically their representative structures by setting the arbitrary functions in the solutions as specific functions.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the interior gradient and second derivative estimates for a class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations determined by symmetric functions of eigenvalues of the Ricci or Schouten tensors. We study quasilinear elliptic equations with strong nonlinear terms and systems of such equations. The methods developed by the authors in [1], [2] are used to prove the existence of solutions for boundary—value problems using some information on behavior of potential bounds for nonlinearities; the L–characteristics of elliptic operators and their fractional powers play an important role. New conditions are suggested for the existence of classical solutions of quasilinear second order elliptic equations.  相似文献
