Using the notion of truncating twisting function from a simplicial set to a cubical set a special, bitwisted, Cartesian product of these sets is defined. For the universal truncating twisting function, the (co)chain complex of the corresponding bitwisted Cartesian product agrees with the standard Cartier (Hochschild) chain complex of the simplicial (co)chains. The modelling polytopes Fn are constructed. An explicit diagonal on Fn is defined and a multiplicative model for the free loop fibration ΩYΛYY is obtained. As an application we establish an algebra isomorphism H(ΛY;Z)≈S(U)⊗Λ(s−1U) for the polynomial cohomology algebra H(Y;Z)=S(U).  相似文献

Let Z(t) be the population at time t of a critical age-dependent branching process. Suppose that the offspring distribution has a generating function of the form f(s) = s + (1 ? s)1+αL(1 ? s) where α ∈ (0, 1) and L(x) varies slowly as x → 0+. Then we find, as t → ∞, (P{Z(t)> 0})αL(P{Z(t)>0})~ μ/αt where μ is the mean lifetime of each particle. Furthermore, if we condition the process on non-extinction at time t, the random variable P{Z(t)>0}Z(t) converges in law to a random variable with Laplace-Stieltjes transform 1 - u(1 + uα)?1/α for u ?/ 0. Moment conditions on the lifetime distribution required for the above results are discussed.  相似文献

We obtain global Strichartz estimates for the solutions u of the wave equation for time-periodic potentials V(t,x) with compact support with respect to x. Our analysis is based on the analytic properties of the cut-off resolvent Rχ(z)=χ(U−1(T)−zI)ψ1, where U(T)=U(T,0) is the monodromy operator and T>0 the period of V(t,x). We show that if Rχ(z) has no poles zC, |z|?1, then for n?3, odd, we have a exponential decal of local energy. For n?2, even, we obtain also an uniform decay of local energy assuming that Rχ(z) has no poles zC, |z|?1, and Rχ(z) remains bounded for z in a small neighborhood of 0.  相似文献

Let R(z) be the resolvent of A. Then an asymptotic expansion of R(z) as z approaches a critical value of the polynomial p(ξ) is given; the coefficient operators in the expansion are computed explicitly. A new integral representation of the Hankel transform type is deduced for the function Fn(x,Z)=Zn−1Ai(xZ)Ai(x+Z) with xR, Z>0 and nN. This formula involves the product of Airy functions, their derivatives and Bessel functions. The presence of the latter allows one to perform various transformations with respect to Z and obtain new integral formulae of the type of the Mellin transform, K-transform, Laplace and Fourier transform. Some integrals containing Airy functions, their derivatives and Chebyshev polynomials of the first and second kind are computed explicitly. A new representation is given for the function 2|Ai(z)| with zC.  相似文献

We show that the Schrödinger operator eitΔ is bounded from Wα,q(Rn) to Lq(Rn×[0,1]) for all α>2n(1/2−1/q)−2/q and q?2+4/(n+1). This is almost sharp with respect to the Sobolev index. We also show that the Schrödinger maximal operator sup0<t<1|eitΔf| is bounded from Hs(Rn) to when s>s0 if and only if it is bounded from Hs(Rn) to L2(Rn) when s>2s0. A corollary is that sup0<t<1|eitΔf| is bounded from Hs(R2) to L2(R2) when s>3/4.  相似文献

A study is made of the function H(s, z) defined by analytic continuation of the Dirichlet series H(s, z) = Σn=1n?sΣm=1nm?z, where s and z are complex variables. For each fixed z it is shown that H(s, z) exists in the entire s-plane as a meromorphic function of s, and its poles and residues are determined. Also, for each fixed s ≠ 1 it is shown that H(s, z) exists in the entire z-plane as a meromorphic function of z, and again its poles and residues are determined. Two different representations of H(s, z) are given from which a reciprocity law, H(s, z) + H(z, s) = ζ(s) ζ(z) + ζ(s + z), is deduced. For each integer q ≥ 0 the function values H(s, ?q) and H(?q, s) are expressed in terms of the Riemann zeta function. Similar results are also obtained for the Dirichlet series T(s, z) = Σn=1n?sΣm=1nm?z (m + n)?1. Applications include identities previously obtained by Ramanujan, Williams, and Rao and Sarma.  相似文献

In this paper we study multiplicative perturbations for the generator of a strongly continuous integral resolvent family of bounded linear operators defined on a Banach space X. Assuming that a(t) is a creep function which satisfies a(0+)>0, we prove that if (A,a) generates an integral resolvent, then (A(I+B),a) also generates an integral resolvent for all BB(X,Z), where Z belongs to a class of admissible Banach spaces. In special instances of a(t) the space Z is proved to be characterized by an extended class of Favard spaces.  相似文献

We prove that if X and Y are t-equivalent spaces (that is, if Cp(X) and Cp(Y) are homeomorphic), then there are spaces Zn, locally closed subspaces Bn of Zn, and locally closed subspaces Yn of Y, nN+, such that each Zn admits a perfect finite-to-one mapping onto a closed subspace of Xn, Yn is an image under a perfect mapping of Bn, and Y=?{Yn:nN+}. It is deduced that some classes of spaces, which for metric spaces coincide with absolute Borelian classes, are preserved by t-equivalence. Also some limitations on the complexity of spaces t-equivalent to “nice” spaces are obtained.  相似文献

Let B be the unit ball of with respect to an arbitrary norm. We study certain properties of Loewner chains and their transition mappings on the unit ball B. We show that any Loewner chain f(z,t) and the transition mapping v(z,s,t) associated to f(z,t) satisfy locally Lipschitz conditions in t locally uniformly with respect to zB. Moreover, we prove that a mapping fH(B) has parametric representation if and only if there exists a Loewner chain f(z,t) such that the family {etf(z,t)}t?0 is a normal family on B and f(z)=f(z,0) for zB. Also we show that univalent solutions f(z,t) of the generalized Loewner differential equation in higher dimensions are unique when {etf(z,t)}t?0 is a normal family on B. Finally we show that the set S0(B) of mappings which have parametric representation on B is compact.  相似文献

Let Sn be the range of another collection Y1,…,Yn of mutually independent exponential random variables with hazard rates λ1,…,λn whose average is λ. Finally, let r and s denote the reversed hazard rates of Rn and Sn, respectively. It is shown here that the mapping t?s(t)/r(t) is increasing on (0,) and that as a result, Rn=X(n)X(1) is smaller than Sn=Y(n)Y(1) in the likelihood ratio ordering as well as in the dispersive ordering. As a further consequence of this fact, X(n) is seen to be more stochastically increasing in X(1) than Y(n) is in Y(1). In other words, the pair (X(1),X(n)) is more dependent than the pair (Y(1),Y(n)) in the monotone regression dependence ordering. The latter finding extends readily to the more general context where X1,…,Xn form a random sample from a continuous distribution while Y1,…,Yn are mutually independent lifetimes with proportional hazard rates.  相似文献

We establish sufficient conditions in order that all prepared solutions Y(t) of (1) are oscillatory; that is, det Y(t) vanishes infinitely often on [a, + ∞). The conditions involve the smallest and largest eigen-values λn(R−1(t)) and λ1(∝at Q(s) ds), respectively. We obtain estimates for certain oscillatory integrals with polynomial (degree n) phase, p(t). These estimates are stated in terms of differences between the roots, real or complex, of p(n−3)(t) and p(n−2)(t) or between p(n−2)(t) and p(n−1)(t). The sharpness of these results is also explored. We consider the random variable Zn,α=Y1+2αY2+?+nαYn, with αR and Y1,Y2,… independent and exponentially distributed random variables with mean one. The distribution function of Zn,α is in terms of a series with alternating signs, causing great numerical difficulties. Using an extended version of the saddle point method, we derive a uniform asymptotic expansion for P(Zn,α<x) that remains valid inside (α≥−1/2) and outside (α<−1/2) the domain of attraction of the central limit theorem. We discuss several special cases, including α=1, for which we sharpen some of the results in Kingman and Volkov (2003).  相似文献

It was shown by S.N. Bernstein that if f is an entire function of exponential type τ such that |f(x)|?M for −∞<x<∞, then |f(x)|?Mτ for −∞<x<∞. If p is a polynomial of degree at most n with |p(z)|?M for |z|=1, then f(z):=p(eiz) is an entire function of exponential type n with |f(x)|?M on the real axis. Hence, by the just mentioned inequality for functions of exponential type, |p(z)|?Mn for |z|=1. Lately, many papers have been written on polynomials p that satisfy the condition znp(1/z)≡p(z). They do form an intriguing class. If a polynomial p satisfies this condition, then f(z):=p(eiz) is an entire function of exponential type n that satisfies the condition f(z)≡einzf(−z). This led Govil [N.K. Govil, Lp inequalities for entire functions of exponential type, Math. Inequal. Appl. 6 (2003) 445-452] to consider entire functions f of exponential type satisfying f(z)≡eiτzf(−z) and find estimates for their derivatives. In the present paper we present some additional observations about such functions.  相似文献
