We address soliton spiraling in optical lattices induced by multiple coherent Bessel beams and show that the dynamic nature of such lattices makes it possible for them to drag different soliton structures, setting them into rotation. We can control the rotation rate by varying the topological charges of lattice-inducing Bessel beams.  相似文献

We propose a new method for tailoring light structures using a double axicon holographic pattern. The light structure can be tailored using pairs of Bessel modes with different angular momentum indices, and changed into an optical wheel by combining two copropagating Bessel beams. We also demonstrated that the optical wheel obtained from a pair of Bessel beams had rotation feature over the propagation distance by introducing different axial wavenumbers between the two modes.  相似文献

We show both numerically and experimentally that intense, narrow, and low-divergence beams of light are produced at the apex of dielectric pyramid-shaped microtips. These beams exhibit a Bessel transverse profile but are narrower than the usual Bessel beam, allowing for a significant enhancement of the light intensity inside the beam. They are generated by axicon-like structures with submicrometric height imprinted in glass by combining optical lithography and chemical etching. The resulting beams are experimentally imaged using fluorescence microscopy, in remarkable agreement with numerical computations.  相似文献

We report the generation of femtosecond Bessel beams of conical half-angle 26 degrees using an axicon lens and a beam reduction imaging setup. The generated Bessel beams were applied to the micromachining of nanostructures in glass of length up to 100 μm. The effect of the incident pulse energy on the characteristics of the nano- structures was studied using optical microscopy.  相似文献

We review recent results on the propagation and self-focusing of intense femtosecond laser pulses with shaped beam profiles in transparent dielectric media. At sufficiently high optical power, beam shaping seeds into the transverse modulation instability and results in the deterministic placement of intense laser filaments within the beam profile. Resulting spatial filament distributions may be utilized for writing complex extended structures inside transparent dielectrics. Specific examples of beam shapes we will discuss are Bessel beams, optical vortices, Bessel beams of higher order, and Airy beams.  相似文献

We present a study of spiral structures generated by superposition of a truncated Bessel beam and a plane wave. One of the main characteristics of spiral structures is that the shape of spiral beams remains unchanged upon propagation. The results of experimental observations using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer are compared with the numerically calculated intensity distribution. We show that when spiral beams are disturbed by a nontransparent obstacle, the amplitude of the transmitted field is distorted at nearby distances behind that obstacle, but during free-propagation, it regenerates to its initial form.  相似文献

通过对由两个零级贝塞尔光束相干叠加形成的三维衍射光场的理论分析和计算机模拟,发现当双零级贝塞尔光束的有关参量满足一定条件时,会在光轴上形成一系列高质量的局域空心光束。在此基础上,进一步分析了这种阵列局域空心光束的大小、阵列周期及局域空心光束的质量与双零级贝塞尔光束和光路参量的定量关系。推导出双零级贝塞尔光束叠加时在中心暗斑位置达到完全干涉相消的条件是通过两个环缝的能量要相同,以及产生最佳局域空心光束的内外环缝光源半径的比值为0.465。该研究为进一步设计制备基于双零级贝塞尔光束干涉实现阵列局域空心光束的新型衍射光学元件提供了理论依据和设计参量。  相似文献

We use a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) to produce arrays of Bessel beams by using multiple axicon phase-masks on the SLM. This approach utilises the whole of the SLM, rather than just a thin annular region (which is the case if the SLM is in the far-field of the generated Bessel beams). Using the whole SLM rather than just an annular region means that the required intensity on the SLM is an order of magnitude lower for a given power in the Bessel beams. Spreading the power over the whole SLM is important for high-power applications such as laser micromachining. We allow the axicons to overlap and interfere in the hologram, so the axial length of the Bessel beam core is maintained as we add more beams to the array.  相似文献

As an extension of our previous study, the area scintillation aspects of Bessel Gaussian and modified Bessel Gaussian beams of zeroth order are investigated. The analysis is carried out on the basis of equal source sizes and equal source powers. It is found that, when compared on equal source size basis, modified Bessel Gaussian beams always have less area scintillations than a Gaussian beam, while Bessel Gaussian beams exhibit more area scintillations. Comparison on equal source power basis, however, removes the advantage of modified Bessel Gaussian beams, that is, their area scintillations become nearly the same as those of the Gaussian beam. On the other hand, for the case of equal source powers, Bessel Gaussian beams with larger width parameters continue to have higher area scintillations than the Gaussian beam. We provide graphical illustrations for profiles of equal source size beams, equal source power beams and the curves to aid the selection of equal source power beams.  相似文献

We examine the properties of interfering high-order Bessel beams. We implement an experimental setup that allows us to realize these interferograms, using interfering Laguerre-Gaussian beams and an axicon. We demonstrate the use of such beams for controlled rotation of microscopic particles in optical tweezers and rotators. The self-healing properties of interfering Bessel beams allow the simultaneous manipulation and rotation of particles in spatially separated sample cells.  相似文献

Higher-order Bessel beams have been demonstrated to have the ability to trap and rotate low- and high-index particles simultaneously [Phys. Rev. A 66, 063402 (2002)]. The rotation and trapping is caused by the presence of orbital angular momentum arising from its azimuthal phase variation (that changes at integer multiples of 2pi) and the concentric rings of the Bessel mode. We demonstrate for the first time to our knowledge a branch from the family of higher-order Bessel beams that has fractional azimuthal variation at its beam axis. This new family of laser beams has the ability to perform dynamic optical manipulation with dynamic control of a spatial light modulator. Furthermore, we take the opportunity to explore the propagation characteristics of higher-order Bessel beams for which the azimuthal phase changes at noninteger multiples of 2pi.  相似文献

We study numerically the interference resulting from the superposition of two Bessel beams propagating in free space. We discuss how to obtain such beams and show the existence of the self-imaging effect during propagation. The evolution of the superimposed Bessel beams is analyzed on the basis of the evolution of the individual beams. Our exact numerical predictions contradict previous approximated analytical treatments, showing that they can lead to quantitatively wrong results and misleading conclusions.  相似文献

We analytically and numerically study the local dynamical characteristics of the Bessel beams reflected from an airglass interface near the Brewster angle.A Taylor series expansion based on the angular spectrum component is applied to correct the reflection coefficients near the Brewster angle.Using a hybrid angular spectrum representation and vector potential method,the explicit expressions for the electric and magnetic field components of the reflected Bessel beams are derived analytically under paraxial approximation.The local energy,momentum,spin,and orbital angular momentum of the Bessel beams upon reflection near the Brewster angle are examined numerically by utilizing a canonical approach.Numerical simulation results show that the properties of these dynamical quantities for the Bessel beams near Brewster angle incidence change abruptly,and are significantly affected by their topological charge,half-cone angle,and polarization state.The present study has its importance in understanding the dynamical aspects of optical beams with vortex structure and diffraction-free nature during the reflection process.  相似文献

We propose an optical element: a phase-shifted Fresnel axicon for generation of multiple Bessel beams. By giving a binary phase modulation to the standard Fresnel axicon, the proposed element is generated. The phase profile of the binary phase modulation is engineered to generate two and three Bessel beams of equal intensities. This composite optical element is fabricated using electron beam direct writing. The performance of the fabricated device is evaluated using a semiconductor laser, and the generation of two and three Bessel beams is successfully demonstrated.  相似文献

We present what we believe the first experimental observation of a nanosecond zero order pulsed Bessel beam generated from an unstable resonator based on an axicon. The field distribution at the output coupler is simulated by means of Fox–Li iterative computation. It is shown that the experimental result is consistent with the numerical simulation. The application field and forecast of the zero-order Bessel beams are very wide, such as precision cutting and micro-operation experiment. Our experiments offer a new way to output zero-order Bessel beams directly.  相似文献

We first (to best of out knowledge) use the slowly varying envelope approximation (SVEA) to obtain the equation of third harmonic (TH) generated by focusing the double half-Gaussian hollow beams into an atomic medium. The two-dimension intensity distribution is achieved by simulating, and it is similar to that generated by the 0th order Bessel beams. In addition to the similarities between the experimental setups, we demonstrate the accuracy of the equation. Compared with that generated by the Bessel beams, the pattern of the TH intensity generated by the double half-Gaussian hollow beams has salient features.  相似文献

A method for numerical simulation of stimulated Raman scattering of cylindrical wave beams in a nonlinear medium has been developed. The features of the spatial structure formation of interacting wave fields in the regime of conservation of azimuthal angular distributions of amplitudes have been investigated. The radial intensity profiles of diffracting light beams in the near-field zone and their angular spectra in the far-field zone corresponding to different stages of energy exchange in the process of amplification from the noise in the barium nitrate crystal have been calculated. It has been shown that in the field of Bessel beams waveguide structures of the soliton type with a peak intensity of the self-channeling Stokes component significantly exceeding the initial pumping intensity are formed. A comparison of the conversion efficiencies under pumping by Gaussian and Bessel light beams has been made.  相似文献

提出一种由轴棱锥产生的贝塞尔光干涉整形得到具有自成像塔尔博特效应的近似无衍射局域空心光束的新方法。详细分析了两束相干同频率贝塞尔光的相互作用原理及其如何控制局域空心光束的空间尺寸。数值模拟了干涉叠加后光场沿传输距离变化的光强分布及一个完整周期内光强的演变和局域空心光束的形成过程,给出了相干贝塞尔光产生局域空心光束的个数及局域空心光束最大无衍射距离的表达式。  相似文献
