In this paper we propose a model to study superfluidity by considering as state variables the order parameter, describing the concentration of the superfluid phase, the velocity of the superfluid and the absolute temperature. We assume that the order parameter satisfies a Ginzburg–Landau equation and that the velocity is decomposed as the sum of a normal and a superfluid component. The heat equation provides the evolution equation for the temperature. We prove that this model is consistent with the principles of thermodynamics. Diabetes is a worldwide problem that affects one of every 11 persons nowadays. The IDF Diabetes Atlas (Eighth edition, 2017) states that approximately 415 million people in the world are living with the disease and that this number will rise to 629 million by the year 2045. It is a very serious problem of the world. A major part of the world population is affected by this disease and its resulting complications. In this paper, we propose to investigate a fractional‐order model of diabetes and its resulting complications. The mathematical model's parameters define the population of diabetic patients and those who are diabetic with complications at a given time t. We have also discussed the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the fractional‐order model, which we consider here. We make use of the homotopy decomposition method (HDM) in order to solve the problem. 相似文献

The theory of simple shells is a surface‐related Cosserat model for thin elastic shells. In this direct approach, each material point is connected with a triad of rigidly rotating directors. This paper presents a study of the governing equations for orthotropic elastic simple shells in the framework of the linearized theory. We establish the uniqueness of classical solutions, without any restrictive assumption on the strain energy function. The continuous dependence of solutions on the body loads and initial data is proved. Also, the existence of weak solutions to the equations of simple shells is proved by means of an inequality of Korn's type established for such directed surfaces. We show that a model describing the interaction between normal and infectious prion proteins admits global solutions. More precisely, supposing the involved degradation rates to be bounded, we prove global existence and uniqueness of classical solutions. Based on this existence theory, we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of global weak solutions in the case of unbounded splitting rates. In the formulation of models for the spread of communicable diseases which include removal and population dynamics, it is
necessary to distinguish between removal through recovery with immunity and removal by death due to disease. This distinction
must be made because of the difference in the effect on the population dynamics of the different kinds of removal and because
there are significant differences in the behavior of the models.
We have formulated a class of models which allow recovery with immunity for a fraction of the infective and permanent removal
by death from disease for the remainder. Earlier models of this type have postulated an increased death rate for infective,
but such models are restricted to exponentially distributed-infective periods. Because of the differences in behavior between
models with recovery and models with permanent removal do not arise when the infective period is exponentially distributed,
we have chosen to formulate a different type of model which is sufficiently general to admit qualitative differences. 相似文献

It is common practice in many industries to use a replenishment contract with a mechanism of capacity reservation. In this paper, we focus on a multi-period capacity reservation contract practiced between a buyer, who buys a single type of product and sells it to end-customers, and two or more heterogeneous suppliers, who produce and replenish the product as agreed upon contractually.In this paper, a mathematical model including several key features of a real contract is developed for a single supplier situation from the buyer’s perspective. It is then extended to a multiple supplier model for a system in which there are several heterogeneous suppliers with different capacities and prices. A rolling-horizon implementation strategy is suggested for the efficient application of the models. Extensive computational experiments demonstrate that the model and strategy can produce cost effective contractual terms for the buyer within a few seconds. 相似文献

This paper addresses the analysis of a time noise‐driven Allen–Cahn equation modelling the evolution of damage in continuum media in the presence of stochastic dynamics. The nonlinear character of the equation is mainly due to a multivoque maximal monotone operator representing a constraint on the damage variable, which is forced to take physically admissible values. By a Yosida approximation and a time‐discretization procedure, we prove a result of global‐in‐time existence and uniqueness of the solution to the stochastic problem. Asset price dynamics is studied by using a system of ordinary differential equations which is derived by utilizing a new excess demand function introduced by Caginalp [4] for a market involving more information on demand and supply for a stock rather than their values at a particular price. Derivation is based on the finiteness of assets (rather than assuming unbounded arbitrage) in addition to investment strategies that are based on not only price momentum (trend) but also valuation considerations. This paper deals with a semi-implicit time discretization with variable step of a three-dimensional Frémond model for shape memory alloys. Global existence and uniqueness of a solution is discussed. Moreover, an a priori estimate for the discretization error is recovered. The latter depends solely on data, imposes no constraints between consecutive time steps, and shows an optimal order of convergence when referred to a simplified model.
