A method for analyzing the influence of noise on newborns is proposed. The method consists of defining three different types of time interval (quiet, noisy and nursing) and, for each period, environmental noise levels, heart rate, mean arterial pressure and oxygen saturation is continuously measured. The statistical analysis of the influence of the equivalent noise level, rather than instantaneous noise level, on the behavior of the physiological variables is carried out. Great influence of noise is found by using this method, which is also easily translatable to other intensive care units as actual noise conditions are used in the investigation. Moreover, episodes of Bradycardia, Hypoxia and Hypertension are easily related to simultaneous direct nursing activity or a short but high enough noise event, suggesting that both sustained noisy environment and isolated peak noises lead to the alteration of the physiological variables.  相似文献

By assuming an appropriate energy composition law between two systems governed by the same non-extensive entropy, we revisit the definitions of temperature and pressure, arising from the zeroth principle of thermodynamics, in a manner consistent with the thermostatistics structure of the theory. We show that the definitions of these quantities are sensitive to the composition law of entropy and internal energy governing the system. In this way, we can clarify some questions raised about the possible introduction of intensive variables in the context of non-extensive statistical mechanics.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated the procedure of noise assessment in the study of nocturnal noise exposure during sleep in the home situation. The use of two different timeframes (fixed from 11 PM to 07 AM versus personal “Time in Bed” period) was explored as well as the relation between indoor and outdoor noise levels and between the actual and estimated noise levels. Noise recordings were performed inside and outside the bedroom of 24 subjects living in high density road traffic noise areas in the Brussels’ Capital Region during seven consecutive days. Indoor and outdoor noise indicators LAeq, LAmax and individual noise events were analysed. Subjects completed a daily sleep log in which the Time in Bed period was assessed. The results indicate that, for outdoor noise assessment, the use of an average LAeq might not be sufficient to reflect well the noise levels during the sleep period. For indoor measurements, significant differences were found in the comparison between both timeframes (LAeq: T = 16; p < .001). Considering the relation between indoor and outdoor measurements, low correlations (r = .49; p < .001) were found even when the location of the bedroom as a mediating factor was accounted for (street side; r = .52; p < .001). Therefore, from our study, caution is needed when relying on outdoor noise measurements for the evaluation of sleep disturbances. Furthermore, one needs to be aware of the weak correspondence between indoor and outdoor noise levels in the discussion of what a harmonized noise indicator for the evaluation of noise exposure and sleep disturbances should consist of.  相似文献

Several studies have presented the effects of environmental noise in and around buildings and communities in which people live and work. In particular, the noise introduced into a building is mostly evaluated using the A weighted sound pressure level (LAeq) as the only parameter to determine the perceived disturbance. Nevertheless, if noise is produced by activities or sources characterised by a low frequency contribution, the measurement of LAeq underestimates the real disturbance, in particular during sleeping time.  相似文献

A street categorization method to study urban noise was tested by comparing its results and predictive capacity with those of a reference method – the standard grid method (mentioned in the ISO 1996 standard). To this end, two independent noise surveys were carried out simultaneously in the city of Cáceres (Spain), each using one of these two methods. In a first step, the overall values of each procedure were obtained and the differences analyzed. Then, to analyze the predictive capacity of the categorization method, the two noise maps were constructed, and their predicted values (the noise levels of the squares of the grid for the grid method, and of the categories for the categorization method) were compared with the data of the other procedure used as control.It was found that the categorization method yielded similar results for the overall analysis of the city to those obtained with the value of the points of the grid method with considerably fewer sampling points.The categorization method also seems to be a more suitable predictor for new measurements, particularly for levels in the noisiest streets of the town.  相似文献

Multi-Beam Echo-Sounders (MBES) designed for seafloor-mapping applications are today a major tool for ocean exploration and monitoring. Concerns have been raised about their impact towards marine life and especially marine mammals, although their inherent characteristics (high frequencies, short signals and narrow transmitting lobes) actually minimize this possibility. The present paper proposes an analysis of MBES radiation characteristics (pulse design, source level and radiation directivity pattern) accounting for the various geometries met today and expressed according to the metrics used for acoustical impact assessment (maximum Sound Pressure Level, and cumulative Sound Exposure Level). A detailed radiation model is proposed, including the transmission through directivity sidelobes, and applied to three typical MBES examples. A simplified radiation model is then defined, in order to extend it to the case of the cumulative insonification by a MBES moving along a survey line. An approximated analytical model is proposed for the accumulated intensity, showing good agreement with the complete simulation of insonification; it is applied to the worst-case configuration of a low-frequency (12 kHz) multi-sector system. The computation of ranges corresponding to impact thresholds accepted today shows that impacts in terms of injury are negligible for both SPL and SEL; however behavioural response impacts cannot be excluded, and should require specific experimentation.  相似文献

Indoor barriers are now widely used for sound insulation. This paper examines the performance of indoor barriers in the low-medium frequency range and analyses the interaction between different natural modes of a room-barrier-room system. Morse proposed a theoretical model to calculate the sound field in a coupled-room, but this model neglects the surface integral of the boundary values of sound pressure. To estimate the performance of a barrier in an indoor environment, an analytical model is proposed that modifies the Green’s function for a non-rigid boundary enclosure and approximates the surface integral by a pre-estimated sound pressure based on Morse’s model. An additional approximation has been made in the proposed model to neglect the coupling area in the calculation of the surface integral. The proposed model used to predict the insertion loss of the barrier is verified by the experimental results using a 1:5 scale model. The predicted results agree well with the measured results at lower frequencies.  相似文献

The noise assessment at the receivers due to wind turbines in operation is usually performed through outdoor measurements. Background noise and wind turbines noise (WTN) are related to wind speed and both contribute to the overall measured noise levels (environmental noise). Nevertheless, the relation between noise and wind speed is not easily predictable, especially when the wind farms are installed in hilly terrains, where the wind shear is truly remarkable. In Italy and in other countries, this kind of assessment is even more difficult to perform due to the national regulations that require to compute the difference between environmental and background noise levels with the same weather conditions. Thus, to get a reliable and approved measure of the residual noise it would be necessary to turn off the wind farm. This work suggests a technical procedure to simultaneously estimate the immission and the residual noise components measured nearby a wind farm when the residual noise is mainly generated by wind. This allows the evaluation of the noise impact produced by operational wind farms, without requiring the farm shut down. The method aims to be fairly straightforward, thus maintaining the required scientific basis to be used as an assessment procedure by consultants and public bodies.  相似文献

Although studied for many years the nature of the light scalar mesons remains controversial. Here we shall present a method, applicable for s-wave states located close to a threshold, that allows one to quantify the molecular part of a given state. When applied to the f 0(980) a dominance of the molecular component is found. In the second part, we show that requirements of field-theoretic consistency and chiral symmetry, when applied to the scattering of light pseudo-scalars, naturally lead to the appearance of dynamical poles in the scalar sector. A program is proposed on how to further investigate experimentally the mixing between these dynamical states and possible genuine quark states.  相似文献

An exact single-product factorisation of the molecular wave function for the timedependent Schrödinger equation is investigated by using an ansatz involving a phase factor. By using the Frenkel variational method, we obtain the Schrödinger equations for the electronic and nuclear wave functions. The concept of a potential energy surface (PES) is retained by introducing a modified Hamiltonian as suggested earlier by Cederbaum. The parameter ω in the phase factor is chosen such that the equations of motion retain the physically appealing Born– Oppenheimer-like form, and is therefore unique.  相似文献

Many previous researches have concentrated on the noise of backward-curved (BC) blades and forward-curved (FC) multi-blade centrifugal fans. In this paper, an experimental study has been carried out to study the noise reduction of an industrial FC blades centrifugal fan. First of all, the performance and noise characteristics of the FC centrifugal fan were tested to compare the similarities and differences from those of BC blades and FC multi-blade centrifugal fans. And then, some different volute geometric configurations were carried out in order to study the effects of inclined volute tongue, impeller blade-tongue clearance, hub-volute clearance and their coupling effect to the performance and noise of the FC blades centrifugal fan. The aim of many different experimental tests is to validate whether the effects of different modifications to fan performance and noise are additive and to find a good impeller-volute matching to reduce the centrifugal fan noise without reducing performance. The experimental results show that a good coupled modification not only could reduce the fan noise but also could advance the fan performance and extend the operating range.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe the use of an open cell photoacoustic configuration for the evaluation of the thermal effusivity of liquid crystals. The feasibility, precision and reliability of the method are initially established by measuring the thermal effusivities of water and glycerol, for which the effusivity values are known accurately. In order to demonstrate the use of the present method in the thermal characterization of liquid crystals, we have measured the thermal effusivity values in various mesophases of 4-cyano-4-octyloxybiphenyl (8OCB) and 4-cyano-4-heptyloxybiphenyl (7OCB) liquid crystals using a variable temperature open photoacoustic cell. A comparison of the measured values for the two liquid crystals shows that the thermal effusivities of 7OCB in the nematic and isotropic phases are slightly less than those of 8OCB in the corresponding phases. By considering collinear and non-collinear magnetic configurations, the interlayer exchange energy can be viewed as a continuous energy parameter k that can directly be correlated with the magnetoresistance. It was shown [Weinberger, P. (2002). Exchange bias due to configurational magnetic rearrangements. Phys . Rev . B , 65 , 014430] for the spin-valve system Co(111)/Co 6 /(CoO) n /Co 6 /Cu 6 /Co 6 /Co(111), n = 6,12, that the exchange bias refers to that value of k below which the magnetoresistance remains zero. The optimal diffusion weighting (DW) factor, b, for use in diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies remains uncertain. In this study, the geometric relations of DW quantities are examined, in particular, the effects of Rician noise in the measured magnetic resonance signal. This geometric analysis is used to make theoretical predictions for selecting a b value to reduce the influence of noise. It is shown that the optimal b value for DTI studies in healthy human parenchyma is approximately b=1200 s mm−2, with a simple relation given as well for a given expected apparent diffusion coefficient. Monte-Carlo simulations on sets of realistic DTI measures are then performed, verifying the optimal DW for minimizing estimate errors. The effects of noise on various DTI parameters such as anisotropy indices (fractional anisotropy and scaled relative anisotropy), mean diffusivity, radial diffusivity, eigenvalues and the direction of the first eigenvector are investigated as well.  相似文献

Recent studies have demonstrated stable generation of power from pure ammonia combustion in a micro gas turbine (MGT) with a high combustion efficiency, thus overcoming some of the challenges that discouraged such applications of ammonia in the past. However, achievement of low NOx emission from ammonia combustors remains an important challenge. In this study, combustion techniques and combustor design for efficient combustion and low NOx emission from an ammonia MGT swirl combustor are proposed. The effects of fuel injection angle, combustor inlet temperature, equivalence ratio, and ambient pressure on flame stabilization and emissions were investigated in a laboratory high pressure combustion chamber. An FTIR gas analyser was employed in analysing the exhaust gases. Numerical modeling using OpenFOAM was done to better understand the dependence of NO emissions on the equivalence ratio. The result show that inclined fuel injection as opposed to vertical injection along the combustor central axis resulted to improved flame stability, and lower NH3 and NOx emissions. Numerical and experimental results showed that a control of the equivalence ratio upstream of the combustor is critical for low NOx emission in a rich-lean ammonia combustor. NO emission had a minimum value at an upstream equivalence ratio of 1.10 in the experiments. Furthermore, NO emission was found to decrease with ambient pressure, especially for premixed combustion. For the rich-lean combustion strategy employed in this study, lower NOx emission was recorded in premixed combustion than in non-premixed combustion indicating the importance of mixture uniformity for low NOx emission from ammonia combustion. A prototype liner developed to enhance the control and uniformity of the equivalence ratio upstream of the combustor further improved ammonia combustion. With the proposed liner design, NOx emission of 42?ppmv and ammonia combustion efficiency of 99.5% were achieved at 0.3?MPa for fuel input power of 31.44?kW.  相似文献

采用拉曼光谱分析法实现PX(对二甲苯)装置中吸附塔循环液快速、准确的在线分析。由于循环液中各组分的拉曼谱峰相互重叠,且各组分的含量变化范围很大,需要收集大量的训练样本。为此,提出了基于拉曼光谱解析的循环液成分分析方法。首先,要获得循环液所含各组分纯物质的拉曼光谱,以及少量训练样本的拉曼光谱,对这些拉曼光谱进行基线扣除和均值归一化;其次,选取特征波段680~880 cm-1,对每一个训练样本预处理后的拉曼光谱在特征波段进行光谱分解,得到该训练样本中各组分的分解系数;然后,基于全部训练样本各组分的分解系数与对应的浓度数据,建立分解系数与浓度之间的定量分析模型。而对于某一测试样本,先获取其拉曼光谱,进行上述相同的光谱预处理,并在相同的特征波段基于纯组分的拉曼光谱对其进行谱分解,以获得该样本的光谱分解系数;再根据得到的分解系数和上述定量分析的模型,预测出该测试样本中各组分的含量。实验结果表明,一方面,由各纯组分混合得到的训练样本的拉曼光谱可以较精确地分解成各组分的拉曼光谱的线性加权和;另一方面,基于拉曼光谱分解系数建立的定量分析模型可以准确地预测出循环液中各组分的含量,对测试样本中甲苯、乙苯、对二甲苯、间二甲苯、邻二甲苯和对二乙基苯含量的标准预测误差分别为0.301%,0.088%,0.563%,0.384%,0.366%和0.536%。为PX装置中吸附塔循环液的在线分析提供了改进方法。  相似文献

We address the role of surfactant adsorbates in determining changes in the homoepitaxial growth mode of metals, discussing the case of Sb on Ag (111). From ab initio calculations, we extract evidence that the mechanism operative in this system is that Sb induces an irregular shape and an increase in density of the growing Ag islands, and an ensuing increase of the number of attempts for an adatom to descend to a lower terrace. This results from a combination of peculiar properties of this system: Sb is adsorbed insubstitutional surface sites, leading to the formation of a Sb–Ag surface alloy; deposited Ag has reduced mobility on Sb-covered Ag (111), from which follows a higher nucleation probability. The island shape is irregular since the surface alloy is disordered. Surface seggregation of Sb once the growing layer is completed furthers the phenomenon for many deposited Ag layers. Our explanation of the surfactant action of Sb on Ag (111) does not require a reduction of the downstep diffusion barrier, which may, however, be a concurrent factor helpful to interlayer mass transport and layerby-layer growth.  相似文献

Nanodevices using the photovoltaic effect of a single nanowire have attracted growing interest. In this paper, we consider potential applications of the photovoltaic effect to optical signal coupling and optical power transmission, and report on the realization of a heterojunction formed between WO2 and WO3 in a fine-wire having a diameter on the micrometer scale. Using a laser beam of 514.5~nm as a signal source, the WO2--WO3 heterojunction yields a maximum output power of up to 37.4 pico watt per heterojunction. Fast responses (less than a second) of both photovoltaic voltage and current are also observed. In addition, we demonstrate that it is a simple and effective way to adapt a commercial Raman spectrometer for the combined functions of fabrication, material characterization and photovoltaic measurement of an optical signal coupler and optical power transmitter based on a fine-wire. Our results show an attractive perspective of developing nanowire or fine-wire elements for coupling optical signals into and for powering a nanoelectronic or nano-optoelectronic integrated circuit that works under the condition of preventing it from directly electrically connecting with the optical coupler.  相似文献
