Via an integral transformation, we establish two embedding results between the Emden-Fowler type equation , tt 0 > 0, with solutions x such that as , , and the equation , u > 0, with solutions y such that for given k > 0. The conclusions of our investigation are used to derive conditions for the existence of radial solutions to the elliptic equation , , that blow up as in the two dimensional case.   相似文献

The concept of the gap function is used to give new perturbation results for generators of holomorphic semigroups. In particular, we show that if A is the generator of a holomorphic semigroup on a Banach space and , then every closed linear operator C such that for some and
generates a holomorphic semigroup, too. Moreover, we obtain an analogue of this result for differences of semigroups. If T is a holomorphic semigroup and , then every C 0-semigroup S with

Second-order half-linear differential equation (H): on the finite interval I = (0,1] will be studied, where , p > 1 and the coefficient f(x) > 0 on I, , and . In case when p = 2, the equation (H) reduces to the harmonic oscillator equation (P): y′′ + f(x)y = 0. In this paper, we study the oscillations of solutions of (H) with special attention to some geometric and fractal properties of the graph . We establish integral criteria necessary and sufficient for oscillatory solutions with graphs having finite and infinite arclength. In case when , λ > 0, αp, we also determine the fractal dimension of the graph G(y) of the solution y(x). Finally, we study the L p nonintegrability of the derivative of all solutions of the equation (H).   相似文献

Pairs of numerically satisfactory solutions as for the three-term recurrence relations satisfied by the families of functions , , are given. It is proved that minimal solutions always exist, except when and z is in the positive or negative real axis, and that is minimal as whenever . The minimal solution is identified for any recurrence direction, that is, for any integer values of and . This question is directly connected to the study of the first best constant associated with the Riemannian F α -Sobolev inequality
Precisely, we need to know the dependence of under F α and g α . For that, we obtain its value as the supremum on M of best constants associated with certain homogeneous Sobolev inequalities on each tangent space and show that is attained on M. We then establish the continuous dependence of in relation to F α and g α . The tools used here are based on convex analysis, blow-up, and variational approach.   相似文献

Consider a smooth bounded domain , and the Navier–Stokes system in with initial value and external force f =  div F, where , are so-called Serrin exponents. It is an important question what is the optimal (weakest possible) initial value condition in order to obtain a unique strong solution in some initial interval [0, T), . Up to now several sufficient conditions on u 0 are known which need not be necessary. Our main result, see Theorem 1.1, shows that the condition , A denotes the Stokes operator, is sufficient and necessary for the existence of such a strong solution u. By Nash–Gromov implicit function theorem is infinitesimally invertible over the space of free maps. In this paper we study non-free isometric immersions . Let be a compact Riemannian surface and let be a compact Riemannian manifold, both without boundary, and assume that N is isometrically embedded into some ℝ l . We consider a sequence of critical points of the functional with uniformly bounded energy. We show that this sequence converges weakly in and strongly away from finitely many points to a smooth harmonic map. One can perform a blow-up to show that there separate at most finitely many non-trivial harmonic two-spheres at these finitely many points. Let be an unknown 2 times differentiable function and consider M to be an α- homogeneous Poisson process on Graf(f). The goal is to estimate f having a sample of the inhomogeneous Poisson process N constructed by dislocating each point of M perpendicularly to Graf(f) by a normal random variable with zero mean and constant variance σ2. The exact formulas for the mean measure and the intensity function of N are obtained. Then, the function f is estimated directly using a hybrid spline approach to penalized maximum likelihood. Let be the variety of irreducible sextics with six cusps as singularities. Let be one of irreducible components of . Denoting by the space of moduli of smooth curves of genus 4, we consider the rational map sending the general point [Γ] of Σ, corresponding to a plane curve , to the point of parametrizing the normalization curve of Γ. The number of moduli of Σ is, by definition the dimension of Π(Σ). We know that , where ρ(2, 4, 6) is the Brill–Noether number of linear series of dimension 2 and degree 6 on a curve of genus 4. We study constant mean curvature graphs in the Riemannian three- dimensional Heisenberg spaces . Each such is the total space of a Riemannian submersion onto the Euclidean plane with geodesic fibers the orbits of a Killing field. We prove the existence and uniqueness of CMC graphs in with respect to the Riemannian submersion over certain domains taking on prescribed boundary values. L. J. We study the threshold θ ≥ 2 contact process on a homogeneous tree of degree κ = b + 1, with infection parameter λ ≥ 0 and started from a product measure with density p. The corresponding mean-field model displays a discontinuous transition at a critical point and for it survives iff , where this critical density satisfies , . For large b, we show that the process on has a qualitatively similar behavior when λ is small, including the behavior at and close to the critical point . In contrast, for large λ the behavior of the process on is qualitatively distinct from that of the mean-field model in that the critical density has .
