Two transition metal complexes, [Cu2(bpdc)2H2O]·2H2O (1) and Zn(bpdc)(H2O)2 (2) (H2bpdc?=?2,2′-bipyridine-6,6′-dicarboxylic acid), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is dinuclear with two five-coordinate cupric ions and 2 is mononuclear with one six-coordinate zinc. Interactions of 1 and 2 with DNA have been investigated using UV–Vis absorption spectra. The cleavage reaction on DNA has been monitored by agarose gel electrophoresis.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate, N2O2-type Schiff base, synthesized from 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane and 2-hydroxynaphthalin-1-carbaldehyde, forms stable complexes with transition metal ions such as Cu(II), Ni(II), VO(IV) and Zn(II) in DMF. A new 1,2-diamine ligand, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stilbenediamine (L), has been prepared by reduction of the condensation product of benzaldehyde with 2-aminoethanol with Al amalgam. Mononuclear complexes of the [CuL(H2O)]X2 type where X=Cl or AcO with CuII and PdLCl2 with palladium(II) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis and i.r., u.v.–vis. or 1H-n.m.r. spectroscopy.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate N2O2-type Schiff base, synthesized from 1,2-bis(m-aminophenoxy)ethane and 2-hydroxynaphthalin-1-carbaldehyde, forms stable complexes with transition metal ions such as Cu(II), VO(IV) and Zn(II) in DMF. Microanalytical data, elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, UV, visible and IR spectra as well as conductance measurements were used to confirm the structures. The stability constants of these complexes in 60% (v/v) DMF–water were determined at different ionic strengths (0.07,?0.13,?0.2?M) and at different temperatures (45,?50,?55,?60?±?0.1°C) using a spectrophotometric method. From these constants, thermodynamic stability constants and thermodynamic parameters (ΔG?0, ΔH?0, ΔS?0) were calculated. The values of enthalpy change are negative for all systems. The acid dissociation constant of the ligand, investigated in 60% (v/v) DMF–water, has also been calculated at different temperatures.  相似文献

The acid dissociation constants of N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) aminomethyl phosphonic acid (BHAMP) and the stability constants with Zn++ and Mn++ were determined at 25°C and at an ionic strength of 0.10 by means of potentiometric methods. The existence of a stable chelate species YM is illustrated. The equilibrium constants reported were calculated by the method developped by Schwartzenbach.  相似文献

Four new Cu(II) complexes of 4,4??-diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS) with different anions (chloride, sulfate, nitrate or acetate) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic absorption, IR, magnetic moment, thermal analysis and powder X-ray diffraction studies. It was found that the pure DDS and complex [Cu2(DDS)2(NO3)2].(NO3)2 (3) crystallize in orthorhombic system while the complexes [Cu2(DDS)2].Cl4 (1), [Cu2(DDS)2].(SO4)2 (2), and [Cu2(DDS)2].(CH3COO)4 (4) crystallize in monoclinic system. The crystallite sizes of complexes have smaller values as compared to pure DDS. Infrared studies suggest that the coordination of NH2 of DDS with Cu(II) ion. The binding of the complexes with calf thymus (CT) DNA was investigated by electronic absorption titration, fluorescence measurements and DNA thermal denaturation. The spectroscopic studies together with the DNA melting studies indicated that the complexes may bind to CT-DNA in a non-intercalative mode.  相似文献

Neutral complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) have been synthesized from the oxamide-based ligand derived from leucine and diethyloxalate. The structural features have been deduced from their microanalytical, IR, UV/Vis, mass, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data. The Co(II) and Ni(II) chelates have octahedral geometries and the Cu(II) chelate is a square-pyramidal geometry. The non-electrolytic and monomeric nature of the complexes is shown by their magnetic susceptibility and low conductance data. The biological activities of the ligand and its metal chelates against gram-positive and negative bacteria and fungi are also reported. All the compounds are antimicrobially active and show higher activity than the free ligand.  相似文献

Three novel heterobinuclear complexes have been prepared and identified as [Cu(oxap)Ni(L)2](ClO4)2·ξH2O, where oxap denotes theN,N′-bis(2-aminopropyl)oxamido dianion and L denotes 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (NO2-phen). The crystal structure of [Cu(oxap)Ni(phen)2]-(ClO4)2·2H2O has been determined. Crystal data: triclinic, space group , a=12.079 (6), b=12.409 (4), c=17.261 (8) ?, α=70.91 (2), β=86.72 (4), γ=89.19 (3)o. At room temperature, Z=2. The CuII is in a square planar environment and the NiII is in an octahedral environment. The Cu−Ni distance is 5.292 ?. The temperature dependences of the magnetic susceptibilities of [Cu(oxap)Ni(phen)2]-(ClO4)2·2H2O and [Cu(oxap)Ni(bipy)2](ClO4)2 have been studied in the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integral J=−92.4 cm−1 for bipy and J=−94.3 cm−1 for phen. These results are commensurate with antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent metal ions.  相似文献

Complexes of copper(II) with 5(2′-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-x-phenyl)pyrazolines, (C15H12N2OX)2Cu [X =–H,–Cl,–CH3,–OCH3] have been synthesized with their addition complexes with 2,2′-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline and triphenylphosphine. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight measurement, magnetic, conductivity measurement, IR, electronic, 31P NMR, ESR and FAB mass spectra. The complexes were examined for crystalline/amorphous nature through XRD. Square-planar geometry around copper(II) is suggested with two bidentate pyrazoline ligands. In the additional complexes pyrazoline is monodentate. The bidentate and monodentate behavior of pyrazoline ligands was confirmed by IR and 31P NMR spectral data. All complexes were tested for in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity and exhibit very good antibacterial and antifungal activity; coordination has a pronounced effect on the microbial activities. The brine shrimp bioassay was also carried out to study their in vitro cytotoxic properties. All complexes and adducts displayed potent cytotoxic activity against Artemia salina. Anti-inflammatory activity was also carried out by the carrageenan induced rat paw edema test. The complexes and adducts were found to have higher anti-inflammatory activity.  相似文献

Template condensation between o-phthalaldehyde and 3,4-diaminotoluene resulted in mononuclear 16-membered tetraimine macrocyclic complexes, [MLCl2] [M?=?Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)]. The proposed stoichiometry and the nature of the complexes have been deduced from elemental analyses, mass spectra, and molar conductance data. The macrocyclic framework has been inferred from ν(C=N) and ν(M–N) bands in the IR spectra and the resonances observed in 1H and 13C-NMR spectra. Octahedral geometry has been assigned for all these complexes on the basis of position of the bands in electronic spectra and magnetic moment data; distorted octahedral geometry has been assigned for the Cu(II) complex on the basis of EPR data. The low-conductivity data of all the complexes suggest their non-ionic nature. Interaction of these complexes with calf-thymus DNA (CT DNA) has been examined with fluorescence quenching experiments, which show that the complexes are avid binders of CT DNA.  相似文献

A new pyrazolylhydrazone, 2-(2-(1,5-dimethy-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazolyl-4-yl)hydrazono)-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione (HL) and its Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes were synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic measurements and spectral (IR, 1H NMR, UV–vis, HRMS) measurements. All complexes possess ML2 stoichiometry with L behaving as monoanionic tridentate ONO donor. Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that HL and CoL2 crystallize in orthorhombic system with Pbcn space group. Hydrogen bonding interactions between molecules of CoL2 results in the formation of an infinite zig-zag chain extending along the ‘b’ axis. EPR spectrum of Cu(II) complex at 77 K suggests mononuclear and distorted octahedral geometry for [CuL2]. Antimicrobial activity of HL and its complexes were investigated and minimum inhibitory concentrations identified. Bacterial and fungal organisms used were gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus, gram-negative Escherichia coli, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans.  相似文献

Summary Two novel trinuclear complexes were prepared, namely [Cu2(oxae)2(H2O)2M] (ClO4)2, [oxae = N,N-bis(2-aminoethyl) oxamido dianion; M = Co and Ni]. Based on elemental analyses, conductivity measurements and i.r. spectra, the complexes are proposed to have extended oxamidobridged structures. The magnetic susceptibility of [Cu2-(oxae) 2(H2O)2Co](ClO4)2 were measured over the 4–300 K range and the observed data were successfully simulated by an equation based on the spin Hamiltonian, =–2J(1·2·2·3). The exchange integral, J, was found to be equal to –29.2 cm–1, indicating an antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction between the adjacent metal ions.  相似文献

Two new Cd(II) complexes, [Cd(DABT)(CH3COO)2] (1) and [Cd(DABT)(NO3)2] (2), DABT = 2,2′-diamino-4,4′-bithiazole, have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography. In 1, each cadmium is chelated by two nitrogens of one DABT and four oxygens of acetate, whereas 2 is a dinuclear complex and there are two Cd's with eight and six coordination: Cd1O6N2 and Cd2O4N2 units. The counter ion effect of the complex formation reaction between cadmium(II) nitrate and acetate with DABT has been studied by spectroscopy. The formation constants of the 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 (metal ion to ligand) complexes were evaluated by computer fitting of the absorbance–mole ratio data.  相似文献

[Pd(BHEP)Cl2] (BHEp = 1,4-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine) was synthesized and characterized. The palladium center has a typical square-planar geometry with a tetrahedral distortion. The alcohol groups of the ligand do not participate in binding to Pd(II). The DFT/B3LYP method was used for geometric optimization of the ligand and the complex using the Gaussian 09 program and compared with experimental results. The stoichiometry and stability constants of the complexes formed between [Pd(BHEP)(H2O)2]2+ and some selected amino acids, peptides, and DNA constituents were investigated at 25 °C and 0.1 M ionic strength. The binuclear complex [(H2O)(BHEP)Pd(Bip)Pd(BHEP)(H2O)]4+ was detected, where Bip = 4,4′-bipiperidine. Inosine, uracil, and thymine interact with the binuclear complex via substitution of both coordinated water molecules. The potentiometric results were complimented by spectroscopic measurements. The concentration distribution diagrams of the various species formed were evaluated.  相似文献

New zinc(II) and mercury(II) complexes of 2,2′-diamino-4,4′-bis(1,3-thiazole) (DABTZ), [M(DABTZ)(CH3COO)2], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR-, 1H NMR-, 13C NMR spectroscopy and studied by thermal analysis and X-ray crystallography. The structural characterization of the [Zn(DABTZ)(CH3COO)2] complex shows the complex to be a monomer and the Zn coordinated by two nitrogen atoms of the “DABTZ” ligand and four oxygen atoms of the acetate anions.  相似文献

2,4-Bipyridyl (2,4-bipy orL) complexes with cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) of the formulae M(2,4-bipy)2(CH3COO)2·2H2O (M(II) = Co, Ni, Cu), Co(2,4-bipy)2SO4·3H2O or Ni(2,4-bipy)2SO4·4H2O have been prepared and their IR and electronic (VIS) spectra are discussed. The thermal behaviour of the obtained compounds has also been studied. The intermediate products of decomposition at different temperatures have been characterized by chemical analysis and X-ray diffraction.We thank dr. A. Malinowska for performing VIS spectra. The study and comparative analysis of spectral-luminescent characteristics (absorption and fluorescence spectra), of quantum yield, and fluorescence life time in solutions, of lability in proton-donor media, solid phase thermal stability in air oxygen and argon was carried out for binuclear zinc(II) helicates with decamethyl-substituted 2,3′- and 3,3′-bis(dipyrrolylmethenes). Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of the type Na4[ML(H2O)2] of the ligand, 3,3′-bis[N,N-di(carboxymethyl)-aminomethyl]-o-cresol sulphonphthalein (Xylenol Orange, Na4H2L), have been synthesized and characterized by different physico-chemical (elemental analyses, solubility, electrolytic conductances, magnetic susceptibility measurements) and spectral (u.v.-vis, i.r., e.s.r., and powder X-ray diffraction) techniques for their structure determination. The data suggest 1?:?1 (M?:?L) compositions and octahedral geometries around M(II) except for Cu(II). Antifungal activity of the complexes measured against ten fungi show significant activity against Alternaria brassicicola, Alternaria solanai, Cercospora species and Helminthosporium oryzae and moderate antifungal activity against Curvularia species, Curvularia lunata, Curvularia penniseti, Colletotrichum capsici, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus Erysiphae pisi and Fusarium udum fungi.  相似文献
