The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect in YMnO3 have been investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. The thermal magnetization, specific heat and magnetic entropy have been obtained for different values of exchange interactions and for a several external magnetic field values. The variation of adiabatic temperature change with the temperatures has been obtained for several values of external magnetic field. It has been found that the sample exhibited a paramagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transition at 30 K. The transition temperature of YMnO3 has been deduced for different values of size (1/L) and different values of exchange interactions. The relative cooling power with several values of external magnetic field has been established.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of armchair graphene nanoribbons have been studied using a Monte Carlo study. The ground state phase diagrams have been determined for mixed spins S={±2; ±1; 0} and σ={±5/2; ±3/2; ±1/2}. The topologies of the phase diagrams depend on the values of the parameters in the Hamiltonian such as exchange interactions, crystal field and external magnetic field. The some diagrams show some coexistence between regions. The Néel temperature tN is obtained for different values of layer (n). The effect of reduced exchange interactions between the mixed spins σ and S and reduced crystal field on total magnetization has been given. Magnetic hysteresis cycles are given for different values of n, reduced exchange interactions and reduced temperatures. The double hysteresis loop and superparamagnetism were observed.  相似文献

The magnetization and susceptibility of a cylindrical core/shell spin-1 Ising nanowire are investigated within the effective-field theory with correlations for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the shell and the core. We find that the nanowire system exhibits two distinct susceptibility peaks and two successive phase transitions; either both of them are second-order transitions or one is a second-order transition and the other is a first-order transition for a small exchange interaction. The susceptibility versus switching field and the hysteresis behavior are investigated for different temperatures. It is found that the magnetization reversal events appear as peaks in the susceptibility versus switching field curve, the positions of which define the coercive field points of the nanowire system; the distance between the two susceptibility peaks decreases with increasing temperature.  相似文献

在 10— 80 0K的温度范围内用X射线衍射方法测量了DyMn2 Ge2 化合物的晶格常数与温度的变化关系 ,观察到高温时DyMn2 Ge2 由顺磁状态到反铁磁状态的自发磁相变伴随着晶格常数a的负的磁弹性异常现象 .在4 2K— 2 0 0K的温度范围内测量了DyMn2 Ge2 的交流磁化率 .在交换相互作用的分子场模型近似下 ,从理论上分析讨论了DyMn2 Ge2 的低温自发磁相变和场诱导的磁相变 .计算了DyMn2 Ge2 单晶的磁化强度与温度的变化关系以及不同温度下外磁场沿晶轴c方向时的磁化曲线 .理论分析和计算结果表明 ,温度低于 33K时在DyMn2 Ge2 中观察到的场诱导的一级磁相变为由亚铁磁状态 (Fi)到中间态 (IS)相变 .  相似文献

The magnetic properties of ferromagnetic Ni/Au core/shell have been studied using Monte Carlo simulations within the Ising model framework. The considered Hamiltonian includes the exchange interactions between Ni–Ni, Au–Au and Ni–Au and the external magnetic field. The thermal total magnetizations and total magnetic susceptibilities of core/shell Ni/Au are computed. The critical temperature is deduced. The exchange interaction between Ni and Au atoms is obtained. In addition, the total magnetizations versus the external magnetic field and crystal filed for different temperature are also established.  相似文献

The Kondo lattices YbP and YbN (nonstoichiometric samples) have been investigated by 170Yb Mössbauer spectroscopy, in the temperature range 0.085 K to 80 K in zero magnetic field in YbN and with an applied magnetic field at T=0.045 K in YbP and YbN, and by neutron diffraction in YbN. In both compounds, the antiferromagnetic transition at TN0.7 K is first order and occurs through a progressive growth of paramagnetic domains as the temperature increases. The measured exchange interaction is much larger than kBTN in both compounds and it is found to be isotropic in YbP and anisotropic in YbN. The saturated magnetic moment in both compounds is reduced by 50% with respect to the value calculated from the crystal field and exchange interactions. These properties are interpreted in terms of the competition between the Kondo effect and the RKKY exchange interaction; using a model mean field NCA calculation to describe the magnetic phase, the Kondo temperatures TK are found to be near 5–10 K.  相似文献

The effect of an external magnetic field with a strength up to 140 kOe on the phase transitions in manganese arsenide single crystals has been investigated. The existence of unstable magnetic and crystal structures at temperatures above the Curie temperature T C = 308 K has been established. The displacements of manganese and arsenic atoms during the magnetostructural phase transition and the shift in the temperature of the first-order magnetostructural phase transition in a magnetic field have been determined. It has been shown that the magnetocaloric effect in a magnetic field of 140 kOe near the Curie temperature T C is equal to ??T ?? 13 K. A model of the superparamagnetic state in MnAs above the temperature T C has been proposed using the data on the magnetic properties and structural transformation in the region of the first-order magnetostructural phase transition. It has been demonstrated that, at temperatures close to T C, apart from the contribution to the change in the entropy from the change in the magnetization there is a significant contribution from the transformation of the crystal lattice due to the magnetostructural phase transition.  相似文献

Effects of a magnetic field on the behaviors of TbVO4 which shows a cooperative Jahn-Teller phase transition have been investigated. The possibility that the system will return to the undistorted phase at low temperatures in a magnetic field is considered. We show that because of the weak coupling of the system to the magnetic field applied along the c-axis, the magnetic field required to see the transition of the crystal back to the undistorted phase is impractically high. Diluting the crystal with nonmagnetic ions is then a plausible approach in the study of this novel behavior of the system. We have also calculated the effects of a magnetic field applied in the basal plane and shown that the crystal would remain distorted for all temperatures except the cases when the field is applied along the crystallographic axes. Finally, we consider the effects of a magnetic field on the temperature behavior of the specific heat and show that the Schottky anomaly which occurs at a very low temperature (~1°K) will be shifted to a higher temperature by applying a magnetic field.  相似文献

Two layered magnetic Bethe lattice with varying coordination number q is introduced and numerically studied via exact recursion relations within a pairwise approach. The system is influenced by competing interlayer and intralayer nearest-neighbour (NN) coupling interactions and also by the crystal and external magnetic fields. Cases where both layers are ferromagnetic or one is ferro and the other antiferromagnetic are considered. System configurations’ energy calculations are used to devise some ground state phase diagrams that have proven useful for the investigation of the very low temperature behaviour of the model. Analysis of the thermal behaviours of the total magnetization within the model parameters’ space yield interesting phase diagrams which display fascinating properties, in particular the presence of tricritical points. Increasing negative values of the crystal field strength stabilizes the disordered paramagnetic phase and sometimes gives rise to wavy transition lines.  相似文献

Changes in the magnetic field-temperature phase diagram of CeSb with pressure have been determined up to 6kbar by magnetization measurements on a single crystal. High magnetic fields up to 70 kOe have been applied along a four fold axis of the rock-salt type structure. The features of the phase diagram are not changed by pressure except for a shift towards high temperature. The saturated magnetic moment and the hysteresis of the transition fields are independent of pressure. Variation of exchange energy with volume is deduced from the experimental results. It is shown that the effect of pressure and the magnetic volume anomaly at 0 K are essentially due to the variation of the exchange energy in the ferromagnetic (001) planes.  相似文献

In this study, we have analyzed the dynamical phase transitions of spin-1 Blume-Capel model with quenched random crystal field under the effect of a time dependent oscillating magnetic field. We have obtained the magnetic field, temperature (h,T) cross sections of the global phase diagram for constant values of the concentration and the amplitude of the single-ion anisotropy within mean field approximation. There are regions of the phase space where both ordered and disordered phases coexist. In addition, the dynamic phase transition from one regime to the other can be a first- or a second-order depending on the region in the phase diagram. Hence, the system exhibits a number of interesting phenomena and a rich variety of phase diagrams with type being according to the concentration p of active local crystal fields.  相似文献

The spin-1 Ising model with bilinear and quadrupolar short-range interactions under magnetic field is investigated within the two-particle cluster approximation. It is shown that for those values of the quadrupolar interaction when at zero magnetic field the system undergoes a temperature phase transition between quadrupolar and paramagnetic phases, a triple point may exist in the temperature vs. magnetic field phase diagrams, necessarily along with a critical point. It is also shown that the critical points in the temperature vs. magnetic field phase diagrams of the investigated model can be of three types.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of a tetragonal intermetallic compound, namely, HoMn2Ge2, are investigated experimentally and theoretically. The experimental temperature dependences of the initial magnetic susceptibility and the lattice parameters are obtained in alternating and static magnetic fields. The magnetization curves are measured in strong magnetic fields up to 50 T. The parameters of the crystal field and Ho-Mn and Mn-Mn exchange interactions are determined, and the temperature dependence of the magnetic field of the phase transition from an antiferromagnetic phase to a ferromagnetic phase in a magnetic field aligned along the tetragonal axis is calculated.  相似文献

We present a model study of magnetoresistance through the interplay of magnetisation, structural distortion and external magnetic field for the manganite systems. The manganite system is described by the Hamiltonian which consists of the s-d type double exchange interaction, Heisenberg spin-spin interaction among the core electrons, and the static and dynamic band Jahn-Teller (JT) interaction in the e(g) band. The relaxation time of the e(g) electron is found from the imaginary part of the Green's function using the total Hamiltonian consisting of the interactions due to the electron and phonon. The calculated resistivity exhibits a peak in the pure JT distorted insulating phase separating the low temperature metallic ferromagnetic phase and the high temperature paramagnetic phase. The resistivity is suppressed with the increase of the external magnetic field. The e(g) electron band splitting and its effect on magnetoresistivity is reported here.  相似文献

The effects of fluctuations of the crystal field on the phase diagram of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model with four-spin interactions are investigated within the finite cluster approximation based on a single-site cluster theory. The state equations are derived for the two-dimensional square lattice. It has been found that the system exhibits a variety of interesting features resulting from the fluctuation of the crystal field interactions. In particular, for low mean value D of the crystal field, the critical temperature is not very sensitive to fluctuations and all transitions are of second order for any value of the four-spin interactions. But for relatively high D, the transition temperature depends on the fluctuation of the crystal field, and the system undergoes tricritical behaviour for any strength of the four-spin interactions. We have also found that the model may exhibit reentrance for appropriate values of the system parameters.  相似文献

We report the magnetization, specific heat, and transport measurements of a high quality Na(0.85)CoO2 single crystal in applied magnetic fields up to 14 T. At high temperatures, the system is in a paramagnetic phase. It undergoes a magnetic phase transition below approximately 20 K. For the field H||c, the measurement data of magnetization, specific heat, and magnetoresistance reveal a metamagnetic transition from an antiferromagnetic state to a quasiferromagnetic state at about 8 T at low temperatures. However, no transition is observed in the magnetization measurements up to 14 T for H perpendicular c. The low temperature magnetic phase diagram of Na(0.85)CoO2 is determined.  相似文献

近年来, 磁性纳米管的物理性质和相关应用得到了人们的广泛关注. 利用有效场理论研究了纳米管上双模随机晶场中Blume-Capel模型的磁化强度和相变性质, 得到了系统的磁化强度与温度和随机晶场的关系及其相图. 结果表明: 系统在稀释晶场、交错晶场和同向晶场中会表现出不同的磁学性质和相变行为; 稀释晶场和交错晶场会抑制系统的磁化强度, 导致其基态饱和值小于1, 而同向晶场则不会; 随着随机晶场参量的变化, 系统存在多个相变温度, 并呈现出三临界现象和重入现象.  相似文献
