Results are presented on π+p and K+p elastic scattering at 250 GeV/c, the highest momentum so far reached for positive meson beams. The experiment (NA22) was performed with the european hybrid spectrometer. The π+p elastic cross section stays constant with energy while the K+p cross section increases.  相似文献

The reactions π+ p→π+(K + K ? π+ π? p andppp(K + K ? π+ π?)p where the (K + K ? π+ π?) system is centrally produced have been studied at 85 GeV/c. 48% of the final state proceeds through single or double vector meson resonant production i.e.,K *0(890) (37%), ? (4%),ρ 0 (7%). Evidence is found for associatedK *0 (890) \(\bar K\) *o (890) production (6.4±1.1%) with a cross section ten times higher than that found for associated ? ? production in the same experiment.  相似文献

Results are presented onK + p elastic scattering and on the reactionK + pK + pπ+π? at 70 GeV/c. For the elastic channel, we measured the total ((2.29±0.04)mb) and differentialdσ/dt cross sections. The reactionK + pK + pπ+π? has a total cross section of (470±23) μb and is shown to be dominated by diffractive dissociation processes. The contributions of the quasi-two-body channels $$K^ + p \to K*^0 (890)\Delta ^{ + + } (1,236)$$ and $$K^ + p \to K*^0 (1,430)\Delta ^{ + + } (1,236)$$ and of the Double-Pomeron Exchange (DPE) processes are estimated.  相似文献

The ^13 N+p elastic resonance scattering has been studied at the secondary radioactive beam facility of CIAE in inverse kinematics via a thick-target method. The excitation function for the ^13N(p,p) scattering was obtained in the energy interval of Ecru ≈0.5-3.2 MeV with a ^13 N secondary beam of (47.8±1.5) MeV. Careful analysis of the secondary beam components and extensive Monte-Carlo simulations enable the resolution of the experimental proton spectra. The resonance parameters for five low-lying levels in ^14 O were deduced by Rmatrix fitting calculations with MULTI7 and SAMMY-M6-BETA. The present results show general agreement with those from a recent similar work, and thus confirm the observation of a new 0^- level at 5.7 MeV in 140 with an improved width of 400(45) keV.  相似文献

Angular distributions for scattering from 6Li with π+ and π beams were measured at 100, 180 and 240 MeV incident energy. Elastic (Jp = 1+, T = 0) and inelastic (Jp = 3+, T = 0, Ex = 2.19 MeV) data were obtained over large angular ranges. In order to study the hyperon-nucleon spin-orbit interaction, asymmetries of the polarized Σ+ elastic scattering on protons have been measured. The polarized hyperons were produced through the p(π+, K+) Σ+ reaction in a liquid-scintillator active target, and tracks of Σ+p scattering events were recorded with a newly developed track detector named SCITIC (scintillating track image camera). Although analyses of 10 times more data with more sophisticated data-taking systems and more elaborated analyzing tools are under way, data from an early stage of this experiment indicate a large Σ+p spin-orbit interaction in contrast to the case of the small ΛN spin-orbit interaction. Polarization transfer measurements in π+ elastic scattering have been performed at two incident pion energies, one below and one at the Δ(3, 3)-resonance. A phase-shift analysis of elastic π±4 He scattering at energies 20–160 MeV was performed to determine pure hadronic phase shifts. No statistically significant difference between the hadronic phase shifts deduced from π+4 He and π−4 He scattering was observed.  相似文献

A newly constructed focal-plane polarimeter for the medium resolution spectrometer at TRIUMF has been used to measure polarizations and polarization transfer coefficients for protons elastically scattered from 208Pb at 290 MeV. These results combined with existing cross section data at 300 MeV completely determine the elastic scattering amplitudes for momentum transfers q<2.6 fm−1. The data are in quantitative agreement with Dirac calculations which take the effects of Pauli blocking into account, but disagree at small momentum transfer with density-dependent Schrödinger calculations.  相似文献

Non-relativistic Faddeev and Faddeev-Yakubovsky calculations were made for Kpp, Kppn, KKp and KKpp kaonic nuclear clusters, where the quasi bound states were treated as bound states by employing real separable potential models for the K-K and the K-nucleon interactions as well as for the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The binding energies and spatial shrinkages of these states, obtained for various values of the interaction, were found to increase rapidly with the interaction strength. Their behaviors are shown in a reference diagram, where possible changes by varying the interaction in the dense nuclear medium are given. Using the Λ(1405) ansatz with a PDG mass of 1405 MeV/c2 for Kp, the following ground-state binding energies together with the wave functions were obtained: 51.5 MeV (Kpp), 69 MeV (Kppn), 30.4 MeV (KKp) and 93 MeV (KKpp), which are in good agreement with previous results of variational calculation based on the Akaishi-Yamazaki coupled-channel potential. The KKpp state has a significantly increased density where the two nucleons are located very close to each other, in spite of the inner NN repulsion. Relativistic corrections on the calculated non-relativistic results indicate substantial lowering of the bound-state masses, especially of KKpp, toward the kaon condensation regime. The fact that the recently observed binding energy of Kpp is much larger (by a factor of 2) than the originally predicted one may infer an enhancement of the interaction in dense nuclei by about 25% possibly due to chiral symmetry restoration. In this respect some qualitative accounts are given based on “clearing QCD vacuum” model of Brown, Kubodera and Rho.  相似文献

We compare the pT dependence of pion, kaon and proton production cross sections in the central rapidity region in e+e annihilation events and in proton-proton collisions at ISR energies. We find similarities both in the pT dependence of cross sections and in the particle composition as a function of pT, in agreement with the hypothesis of a universal mechanism of particle production.  相似文献

Polarization properties of strange baryons produced in pp reactions, p + p↦p + Λ0 + K+ and p + p↦p + Σ0 + K+, near thresholds of the final states pΛ0K+ and pΣ0K+ are analysed relative to polarizations of colliding protons. The cross-sections for pp reactions are calculated within the effective Lagrangian approach accounting for strong pp rescattering in the initial state of colliding protons with a dominant contribution of the one-pion exchange and strong final-state interaction of daughter hadrons (Eur.
