针对光纤通信系统中数据同步处理时对脉冲可调延迟的要求,提出了一种可调延迟器的结构设计方案。对电光强度调制器(EOIM)的光频移特性进行了研究,基于EOIM对各级边带和强度的调制作用,利用EOIM对受激布里渊散射慢光装置中的泵浦光进行强度调节,从而实现延迟量可调。建立了可调延迟的数学模型,通过实验研究分别得出了在一定微波调制功率下EOIM调制深度和直流偏置电压随脉冲延迟量的变化关系。从实验结果中可以看出:在引起失真的主要因素为零的情况下,当直流偏置电压为半波电压的1/2时,脉冲相对群延迟随调制深度的增大逐渐减小;当调制深度为1.39时,脉冲相对群延迟随直流偏置电压的增大逐渐增大,延迟量最大可达到未调制情况下的1.106倍,实现了较大范围的延迟量调节。  相似文献

基于偏振调制和光的干涉原理,设计了同时具有正系数和负系数特性的微波光子滤波器,并通过搭建实验模型证实了方案的可行性。利用偏振调制及光的偏振特性实现载波和一阶边带的正交偏振,并通过改变偏振调制器的偏置电压分别对载波和一阶边带引入相移。当载波和一阶边带的相位差为0或90时,利用保偏光纤快慢轴上两正交偏振光在同一偏振态上的干涉效应,分别对应实现具有负系数或正系数特性的微波光子滤波器。最后,测量并验证了0~15 GHz频率范围内滤波器的频率响应。  相似文献

The power fluctuation and multi-sidebands of the RF modulated electro-optic intensity modulator (EOIM) can lead to a degraded resolution of the Brillouin distributed sensors. A standard commercial fiber-pigtailed DFB-LD is locked to one of the sidebands of the EOIM. Optical single sideband-frequency generation is realized with the carrier and the other sidebands totally suppressed. The locked LD greatly improves the power stability of the injected sideband. No dc bias controlling to the EOIM is needed in the locking process. This simple method provides large tuning range (~1 GHz), fast response (~100 μs), and high side-frequency suppression ratio (~60 dB). Thus, it is practical for high-resolution Brillouin sensing systems as well as microwave photonics.  相似文献

A scheme to generate ultra-flat and stable optical frequency comb (OFC) based on multi-wavelength optical seed source and polarization-modulator-based complementary frequency shifter (PCFS) has been proposed and demonstrated. The OFC generation scheme includes two stages: 5-carrier light source is generated by utilizing a polarization modulator at the first stage, and the light source is then used as the seed light in the PCFS at the second stage. Compared with the previous flat OFC generator based on a recirculation frequency shifter, the proposed scheme can greatly reduce the recirculation times, and such a property makes the accumulated noise of the system enormously decrease. In order to achieve the frequency comb with the best flatness, the optical amplifier gain, filter stop-band attenuation and modulator drive voltage are optimized. Experiment simulations show that high-quality OFC with hundreds of frequency lines and power fluctuation within 2 dB can be achieved without direct-current bias control and wavelength-selective-switch.  相似文献

Real-time and single-shot ultra-fast photonic time-intensity integration of arbitrary temporal waveforms is proposed and demonstrated. The intensity-integration concept is based on a time-spectrum convolution system, where the use of a multi-wavelength laser with a flat envelope, employed as the incoherent broadband source, enables single-shot operation. The experimental implementation is based on optical intensity modulation of the multi-wavelength laser with the input waveform, followed by linear dispersion. In particular, photonic temporal intensity integration with a processing bandwidth of 36.8 GHz over an integration time window of 1.24 ns is verified by experimentally measuring the integration of an ultra-short microwave pulse and an arbitrary microwave waveform.  相似文献

A simple all-optical coherence-free microwave notch filter is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The filter with switchable passbands is based on a single-wavelength optical source and phase-intensity hybrid modulation scheme. The DC bias voltage applied to the Mach-Zehnder intensity modulator can be adjusted to switch signs of the tap coefficients, which affect the baseband response. Both lowpass and bandpass filtering responses are observed in the experiment and agree well with the simulated results.  相似文献

针对外调制星间微波光子链路输出信噪比优化问题,建立了基于双电极马赫 曾德尔调制器的强度调制直接探测星间微波光子链路模型,通过优化调制器调制方式来提高链路性能。用数值模拟方法得到了单边带、双边带和推挽式3种调制方式下链路输出信噪比,利用曲面投影法求得了最优调制方式时一定信噪比要求下发射端所需最小光放大器增益和对应的调制器直流偏置相位。结果表明:相同输入射频信号功率和发射光功率情况下,双边带调制输出信噪比比单边带调制高3 dB,低直流偏置相位推挽调制可以进一步优化输出信噪比。输入射频信号功率为-20 dBm,输出信噪比为17.3 dB时,所需最小光放大器增益为43.9 dB,对应的直流偏置相位为0.87。  相似文献

A frequency-doubled microwave photonic phase shifter (MPPS) without optical filter is proposed. The MPPS is based on an integrated dual-polarization dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator (DP-DPMZM) and a polarization modulator (PolM). The DP-DPMZM with a 90° polarization rotator in one arm is used to generate an optical carrier suppressed double sideband (OCS-DSB) signal with orthogonal polarization, and the PolM with two modes opposite phase modulation is used to introduce the optical phase shift between the two orthogonally polarized tones. Simulations show that the MPPS can realize a continuously tunable phase shift of 360° with only one DC bias voltage, and is not sensitive to the optical carrier wavelength and microwave signal frequency since no optical filter is used.  相似文献

A novel tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter based on two cascaded modulators and a dispersive medium is proposed, theoretically discussed and experimentally demonstrated. A single-wavelength LD and a modulator (either a Mach-Zehnder modulator or a phase modulator which can avoid the dc bias drift problem) are used to obtain a multi-wavelength optical source. By adjusting the modulation frequency and the bias voltage on the modulators, the wavelength spacing and the relative amplitude of the optical tones change, thus making the filter tunable and reconfigurable. The experimental results show that the proposed filters have good tunability and reconfigurability and the mainlobe-to-sidelobe ratio of around 25 dB is achieved.  相似文献

In order to meet the requirements of the multi-wavelength light source of large-capacity, high-speed, long-distance optical communication system, we researched the multi-wavelength light source based on super-continuum (SC), analyzed the main factors in the SC generation, such as dispersion, nonlinear effects. The SC simulation and optimization around the input pulse width, peak power, fiber length, non-linear coefficient parameters for analysis. The optimized results: SC input achieved 25 GHz repetition rate, amplified by high power EDFA, input average power did not exceed 33 dBm. The output of the SC 3 dB bandwidth was greater than 70 nm, after AWG, output 320 wavelengths, wavelength spacing is 0.2 nm (25 GHz), the signal-to-noise ratio was greater than 30 dB.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrated a stable multi-wavelength bright–dark pulse pair in a mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser(TDFL). The nonlinear polarization rotation(NPR) and nonlinear optical loop mirror(NOLM) were employed in a figure-eight cavity to allow for multi-wavelength mode-locking operation. By incorporating different lengths of high birefringence polarization-maintaining fiber(PMF), the fiber laser could operate stably in a multi-wavelength emission state. Compared with the absence of the PMF, the birefringence effect caused by PMF resulted in rich multi-wavelength optical spectra and better intensity symmetry and stability of the bright–dark pulse pair.  相似文献

提出了一种基于多波长光纤激光器的可调谐的带通微波光子滤波器。它以可调谐多波长光纤激光器作为光源,将相位调制器和色散器件相结合,通过在普通单模光纤中相位调制到强度调制的转换效应消除了低频谐振峰实现了带通微波光子滤波器。利用双折射光纤环镜输出谱中的一个窗口对多波长激光信号频谱进行加窗处理,使微波光子滤波器的边瓣抑制比提高了约11dB。通过调节多波长光纤激光器中的偏振控制器可以使输出多波长激光信号的相邻波长间隔得到调节,从而结合普通单模光纤的色散延时作用可以使微波光子滤波器的通带中心频率在7.66GHz范围内调谐。  相似文献

In this paper, a novel technique to realize frequency quadrupling in the radio over fiber system is proposed. The frequency quadrupling is achieved by using an integrated Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM) consisting of a 1 × 4 multimode interference (MMI) coupler and four optical phase modulator arms. Due to the inherent optical splitting ratio and phase relations between the outputs of the MMI coupler, the optical harmonics at + 1 order and ? 3 order are generated corresponding to four times frequency of the microwave drive signal, only by setting the DC bias voltage of the main MZM at the minimum transmission point. That leads to the integrated MZM with reduced complexity compared with the conventional dual-parallel MZM. The effect of the nonideal integrated MZM, including the splitting imbalance and the bias drift, on all the sidebands is also analyzed theoretically. The following simulation results show that the slight deviation of the ideal values would not cause great degradation of the generated optical millimeter-wave signal.  相似文献

电光相位调制器是光纤通信系统、微波光子系统和相干光通信系统中的关键器件之一. 作为器件本征参数, 电光相位调制器的半波电压通常利用光谱方法和电谱方法进行测量. 光谱方法受到光源线宽和光谱仪分辨率限制, 测量的分辨率较低; 电谱方法则需要光电检测之前将相位调制转换成强度调制, 电谱方法的主要困难在于需要对探测器的不平坦响应进行额外校准. 提出了利用双音外差实现电光相位调制器半波电压自校准测量新方法, 该方法利用双音电光相位调制的边带与移频光载波的外差拍频, 对外差拍频信号进行频谱分析, 获得电光相位调制器的半波电压; 通过设定双音调制信号的频率关系, 克服了探测器光电转换中的不平坦频率响应, 实现了自校准测量. 该方法可扩展探测器和频谱仪的测试频率两倍以上, 节省至少一半的带宽需求. 与光谱测量方法相比, 该方法测试分辨率大幅提高且避免了光源线宽的影响; 与传统电域测量方法相比, 该方法无须额外校准, 无驱动功率和工作波长限制, 且对测试仪器带宽需求降低一半以上. 实验证实了所提方法获得的电光相位调制器半波电压的测量结果与光谱分析法获得的结果一致, 且大幅度地提高了测量范围和分辨率. 该方法提供了非常简单的电光相位调制器微波特性化分析方法, 对其他光电子器件分析也提供了参考.  相似文献

Integrated optical resonance gyroscope (IORG), with the ring resonator fabricated by micro-techniques, has the advantage of miniaturization, integration, and low cost. Theoretical calculation shows its potential ability in getting high sensitivity. However, the current IORG sensitivity is restricted by optical parasitical noises aggravated by involving high coherent laser source. Polarization fluctuation is one of the dominant noise sources in waveguide resonator. The effect on polarization noise in IORG by three main parameters: state of polarization of the input light, polarization-maintaining quality of the waveguide, and temperature fluctuation of the peripheral environment, has been theoretically analyzed and experimentally tested. An improved layout, with a Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) acting as both modulator and polarizer, is presented to suppress the polarization noise in IORG. The results show that the bias instability of IORG caused by polarization noise is greatly reduced from 1.57°/s to 0.005°/s.  相似文献

The effects of the non-rotating wave approximation (non-RWA) on the spontaneous emission of a V-type three-level atom are studied, where the excited states are coupled to a common ground state by a weak laser field and the upper-level doublet is driven by a strong microwave field. When the non-RWA is applied to the interaction of the atom with the microwave field, for some values of the parameters involved, the spontaneous emission spectrum is comprised of a central peak and a series of sidebands with a constant spacing of the microwave frequency, and the central peak and/or sidebands can be split into two components. The physical interpretation of the spectral characteristics is given in light of the dressed states.  相似文献

The optical wavemeter implemented with a polarization interferometer is simple and accurate. However, the wavemeter is very sensitive to the intensity of the input light. If the light is modulated or its intensity through the polarizer is varied due to a change of polarization state, the measurement error is increased and, in turn, the resolution and bandwidth are limited. In this study, the source of error, which is generated by a change of light intensity, is analyzed, compensated, and experimentally demonstrated. The measurement error due to fluctuated intensity can be reduced by compensating the output offset values of photo detectors. After compensation, the output errors are reduced to ±0.1 nm from ±1.85 nm at 1540 nm, ±0.12 nm from ±1.6 nm at 1550 nm, and ±0.31 nm from ±0.66 nm at 1570 nm.  相似文献

提出了一种基于双通道马赫曾德尔调制器(DPMZM)调制边带滤波的微波光子移相器。在双通道马赫曾德尔调制器的结构中,在一路马赫曾德尔干涉仪上实现抑制光载波的双边带调制输出,而在另一路马赫曾德尔的相位调节臂上通过调节偏置电压实现光载波信号的光学移相,两路光信号经过干涉合路后由光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)滤除其中一个一阶边带,最后输入到光电探测器(PD)进行光电转换得到移相的微波信号。实验结果表明,基于DPMZM调制边带滤波的微波光子移相器具有传输特性稳定、输出幅度波动小的优点。该结构还具有相移调节响应速度快、应用频带宽以及移相范围大于360°等特点。  相似文献
