应用质点振荡模型和数值模拟方法研究了在金属与光折变晶体界面形成表面波的条件及其能量变化. 结果表明: 传播常数的正负影响表面波的类型及波能量分布, 当传播常数取负值时在界面处形成非局域表面波, 取正值时在界面处形成振荡表面波和局域表面波, 局域表面波的能量随传播常数的变大而单调递增. 在一给定的物理系统中, 可通过调节决定非线性效应强度的可变参量控制不同阶数局域表面波模及其传播波形.  相似文献

报道了中心对称光折变晶体与线性电介质界面表面波的形成及能量变化. 通过调节传播常数和波导参数的方法,可以得到非局域、振荡、局域三种类型的表面波. 波导参数和传播常数之差大于阈值时,线性电介质和中心对称光折变晶体界面可以形成局域表面波. 波导参数为正值时,局域表面波主要聚集在中心对称光折变晶体内,随着传播常数的增大,波能量随之单调递增,表面波可以稳定传播. 在给定的条件下,调节决定非线性作用强度的可变参量可以控制局域表面波模的阶数和传播波形. 关键词: 非线性光学 中心对称光折变晶体 表面波  相似文献

理论和实验研究了扩散和光伏机理下LiNbO3晶体界面非线性表面波的传播. 改变传播常数可以得到不同振荡周期的表面波模, 光波的能量随传播常数的递增而单调地递增.本文的实验结果与理论分析能很好地符合. 实验结果还表明, 增加入射光功率可缩短表面波的产生, 增大入射光束与晶体正c轴的夹角(小于90°)可提高表面波的激发效率.  相似文献

Theory of wave motions of a fluid with an ice-sheet was developed due to the necessity of solving of a number of problems of marine and land physics. The main attention in these investigations was focused on propagation and interaction of free waves, and also on appearance of waves under action of different loadings on the ice-sheet. From the other side, the problems dealing with waves on the fluid surface, free from the ice due to motion in the mass of the fluid of rigid bodies, has the known solutions. In this connection, it seems natural to disserminate the formulation and methods of such problems to the case of the fluid with the ice-sheet. In the present note we describe the character of formation of waves from the singularity, localized in the fluid of infinite depth beneath the ice-sheet. We use the example of the dipole, which models a cylinder in the infinite mass of the fluid. The character of the formation does not depend on the type of singularity. The ice-sheet is considered as a thin elastic plate of a constant width, floating on the water surface.  相似文献

We ask about the possible existence of solitary waves in infinite, homogeneous, isotropic, elastic media. Namely, can a nonlinear localized wave packet propagate without altering its shape in such materials? We consider one- dimensional propagation both of body and surface waves. In the first case we show, under rather general assumptions, that if a wave packet propagates without altering its shape it must, of necessity, be a solution of a linear wave equation and in this sense, (body) solitary waves do not exist. Surface solitary waves may however exist: a model equation is derived in which nonlinear and dispersive effects balance each other to allow for waves-both periodic and solitary-of constant shape. It is conceivable they are of some relevance in seismology.  相似文献

A solution is presented for propagation of Hno waves in a rectangular waveguide containing a transversely magnetized ferrite plate on one of the sides; the equation for the propagation constant has been solved numerically. Waves of surface type are found to accompany the waveguide type under certain conditions; the calculations define the conditions for these to occur and those for unidirectional propagation. This latter feature in the surface waves is used to design an isolator based on field bias.  相似文献

A rigorous solution consistent with a plane wave approximation is given to the boundary problem for Maxwell’s equations for surface optical waves at the boundary with a nonlinear Kerr medium. Exact formulas for the flux intensity (J 0) and energy density (W 0) of these waves are derived depending on the parameters of the adjacent media and the propagation constant (ξ). It is shown that these variables as functions of ξ have minima. Thus, J 0 and W 0 increase sharply as the propagation constant deviates from the minimum value ξmin. Their values are greater, the larger the difference between the dielectric constants of the linear and nonlinear media is. An expression for the propagation velocity of a nonlinear surface wave is also obtained.  相似文献

The theory of ion-acoustic surface wave propagation on the interface between a dusty plasma and a dielectric is presented. Both the constant and variable dust-charge eases are considered. It is found that massive negatively charged dust grains can significantly affect the propagation and damping of the surface waves. We consider the axion field and electromagnetic waves with rapid time dependence, coupled to a strong time independent, asymptotically approaching a constant at infinity “mean” magnetic field, which takes into account the back reaction from the axion field and electromagnetic waves with rapid time dependence in a time averaged way. The direction of the self consistent mean field is orthogonal to the common direction of propagation of the axion and electromagnetic waves with rapid time dependence and parallel to the polarization of these electromagnetic waves. Then, there is an effective U(1) symmetry mixing axions and photons. Using the natural complex variables that this U(1) symmetry suggests we find localized planar soliton solutions. These solutions appear to be stable since they produce a different magnetic flux than the state with only a constant magnetic field, which we take as our “ground state”. The solitons also have non-trivial U(1) charge defined before, different from the uncharged vacuum. These solitons represent a new, non-gravitational mechanism, of trapping light. They could also affect the vacuum structure in models of the QCD vacuum that incorporate a magnetic condensate, introducing may be gluon axion solitons.  相似文献

The propagation properties of terahertz (THz) waves through semiconductor conductor-dielectric-conductor (CDC) structure have been investigated. The influence of geometrical parameters, radiation frequencies and temperatures on the propagation properties have been shown and discussed. The contour results demonstrate that as the length of the dielectric filling materials increase, the effective indices of the propagation modes increase. Compared with the results of the metal structure, the effective indices of surface modes through semiconductor InSb slits increase, the propagation length decrease. The effective indices of the surface modes decrease, the propagation lengths increase with the increasing of the carrier concentration. It is expected that the numerical results may be very helpful to have better understand the propagation mechanism of THz waves through semiconductor subwavelength slit.  相似文献

利用数值模拟对扩散非线性机制下由光折变表面波诱导的薄层波导中导模的形成和特点进行了研究。采用分布傅里叶法对导模的传输特性进行了模拟。通过求解本征方程,对光折变表面波诱导的薄层波导中存在的导波模式进行了数值求解。通过调节传播常数和波导参数的方法,可以控制导模的阶数和传播波形。随着阶数的增加,导模轮廓的对称性越来越差;随着波导参数的增加,导模的峰值振幅单调递增。导模的能量主要聚集在晶体薄层波导中靠近-c轴的一侧,随着传播常数的增大,导模能量先减小后增大,且导模可以稳定传播。  相似文献

The propagation of surface waves along the interface between a ferrodielectric and a material that represents an array of amorphous ferromagnetic microwires has been studied. The dispersion characteristic of a magnetically controlled TE wave has been obtained, and frequency intervals have been found in which surface or localized, partially localized, and volume waves may exist. It has been shown that a TM wave in the given structure cannot be a surface wave.  相似文献

A layer of an ideal liquid located on an elastic half-space (with a flat unperturbed boundary) is considered in the linear approximation. At the zero time moment, a localized perturbation of the displacement vector occurs in the elastic half-space, and this perturbation, after some time, leads to a modification (perturbation) of the interface between the water and the crust, which, in turn, leads to a localized perturbation on the surface of the liquid and to the occurrence of surface waves. We are interested in the following question: to what extent does getting rid of the stiffness of the bottom and replacing it by an elastic base influence the speed of propagation of the front of the long wave and its profile under the assumption that the initial perturbation is given immediately on the free surface of the liquid?  相似文献

The propagation of surface acoustic waves in a system composed of two piezoelectric crystals moving with respect to each other and separated by a vacuum gap is considered. The waves are localized on different sides of the gap and coupled only through the electrostatic interaction. It is shown that when the velocity of the relative motion of crystals is close to some value, there occurs a wave instability resulting in a resonant generation of these surface waves. The rate of growth of Bleustein-Gulyaev waves in piezoelectric crystals of 6mm symmetry class is determined analytically.  相似文献

We study optical localized waves on a plane-wave background in negative-index materials governed by the defocusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation with self-steepening effect. Important characteristics of localized waves,such as the excitations, transitions, propagation stability, and mechanism, are revealed in detail. An intriguing sequential transition that involves the rogue wave, antidark-dark soliton pair, antidark soliton and antidark soliton pair can be triggered as the self-steepening effect attenuates. The corresponding phase diagram is established in the defocusing regime of negative-index materials. The propagation stability of the localized waves is confirmed numerically. In particular, our results illuminate the transition mechanism by establishing the exact correspondence between the transition and the modulation instability analysis.  相似文献

The propagation of electromagnetic surface waves with extraordinary polarization across the circular axis of a metal ring in a magnetized plasma is studied using perturbation theory. The amplitude of the fundamental mode of these waves is determined to within second-order terms, and the amplitudes of the nearest satellite modes are found correct to first-order terms. The correction to the eigenfrequency that comes from the nonuniformity of a constant toroidal magnetic field is shown be a second-order quantity.  相似文献

The propagation of electromagnetic waves in a composite medium based on an array of conducting wires in a ferromagnetic nonconducting matrix is discussed. It is demonstrated that, in certain ranges of frequencies and wavelengths, the composite under investigation can possess properties inherent in a “left-handed” medium. The regions of the existence of bulk and surface localized electromagnetic waves are explored. Consideration is given to the dispersion of surface electromagnetic waves in thick layers of the composite.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the spatial propagation of Rabi oscillations (Rabi waves) in one-dimensional inhomogeneous quantum dot (QD) chain. QD-chain is modeled by the set of two-level quantum systems with tunnel coupling between neighboring QDs. The space propagation of Rabi waves in the form of traveling waves and localized wave packets is considered. It is shown, that the propagation of Rabi waves is accompanied by the transfer of the inversion and quantum correlations along the QD-chain and by their reflection and mutual transformations at the spatial inhomogeneities of QE-chain. The effect is potentially applicable in quantum nanooptics and quantum informatics.  相似文献

The conditions for the existence of surface electromagnetic waves at the planar interface between a homogeneous medium (vacuum) and a thin-layer periodic structure consisting of alternating semiconductor and dielectric layers in an external magnetic field have been investigated. This structure represents an optically biaxial crystal with the effective permittivity tensor components dependent both on the geometric parameters of the structure and on the physical characteristics (magnetic field strength, frequency, and thicknesses of the layers). It has been shown that the propagation of surface electromagnetic waves localized near the interface can occur in the thin-layer biaxial structure within specific ranges of frequencies and external magnetic field strengths.  相似文献
