Let Z be a field of characteristic ≠2, D be a quaternion division algebra over Z and have a nonstandard involution of the first kind. The fundamental theorem of geometry of 2× 2 Hermitian matrices over D are proved. Thus, if D is a quaternion division algebra over Z with an involution of the first kind, then the fundamental theorem of geometry of 2× 2 Hermitian matrices over D are obtained.  相似文献

We consider operator matrices ${\rm{H = }}\left( {{_{B_{10} }^{A{_0}}} {_{A_{1} }^{B{_{01}}}} } \right)$ with self - adjoint entries Ai, i = 0,1, and bounded B10 = B10 acting in the orthogonal sum μ=μ0 ⊕ μ1 of Hilbert spaces μ0 and μ1. We are especially interested in the case where the spectrum of, say, A1 is partly or totally embedded into the continuous spectrum of A0 and the transfer function V1(z) = B10 where (χ - A0)?1 B01, admits analytic continuation (as an operator - valued function) through the cuts along branches of the continuous spectrum of the entry A0 into the unphysical sheet(s) of the spectral parameter plane. The values of χ in the unphysical sheets where M1?1(z) and consequently the resolvent (H - z)?1 have poles are usually called resonances. A main goal of the present work is to find non - selfadjoint operators whose spectra include the resonances as well as to study the completeness and basis properties of the resonance eigenvectors of M1(z) in μ1. To this end we first construct an operator - valued function V1(Y) on the space of operators in μ1 possessing the property: V1(Y)?1 = V1(z)?1 for any eigenvector ?1 of Y corresponding to an eigenvalue z and then study the equation H1 = A1 + V1(H1). We prove the solvability of this equation even in the case where the spectra of A0 and A1 overlap. Using the fact that the root vectors of the solutions H1 are at the same time such vectors for M1(z), we prove completeness and even basis properties for the root vectors (including those for the resonances).  相似文献

Properties of right invertible row operators, i.e., of 1 × 2 surjective operator matrices are studied. This investigation is based on a specific space decomposition. Using this decomposition, we characterize the invertibility of a 2 × 2 operator matrix. As an application, the invertibility of Hamiltonian operator matrices is investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the outliers of the sum a Hermitian random matrix and a finite rank matrix which is not necessarily Hermitian. We observe several possible convergence rates and outliers locating around their limits at the vertices of regular polygons as in Benaych-Georges and Rochet (Probab Theory Relat Fields, 2015), as well as possible correlations between outliers at macroscopic distance as in Knowles and Yin (Ann Probab 42(5):1980–2031, 2014) and Benaych-Georges and Rochet (2015). We also observe that a single spike can generate several outliers in the spectrum of the deformed model, as already noticed in Benaych-Georges and Nadakuditi (Adv Math 227(1):494–521, 2011) and Belinschi et al. (Outliers in the spectrum of large deformed unitarily invariant models 2012, arXiv:1207.5443v1). In the particular case where the perturbation matrix is Hermitian, our results complete the work of Benaych-Georges et al. (Electron J Probab 16(60):1621–1662, 2011), as we consider fluctuations of outliers lying in “holes” of the limit support, which happen to exhibit surprising correlations.  相似文献

P.M. Cohn has proved the remarkable theorem, that every invertible n × n matrix over a free algebra is the product of elementary n × n matrices, see [C1], [C2]. In this note we prove the analogue for symplectic 2 × 2 matrices over free algebras relative to a homogeneous involution: every symplectic 2 × 2 matrix is the product of elementary symplectic 2 × 2 matrices.In Section 1 we define the group Sp2(R) of symplectic 2 × 2 matrices over an involutive ring R. The group ESp2(R) generated by elementary symplectic matrices is introduced in Section 3.In Section 2 we prove a reducibility criterion for homogeneous polynomials in a free algebra KX over a commutative field K. It leads to a special form in the factorization of symmetric homogeneous polynomials, see Corollary to Proposition 2.2.We prove in Section 4 that ESp2(KX) = Sp2(KX), if the involution on KX is homogeneous.In a subsequent article we will show that the main result is also true for 2g × 2g symplectic matrices over free algebras relative to homogeneous involutions, g ≥ 1. It seems that a proof of this result will be much more complicated than the case g = 1.  相似文献

Let q be the finite field with q elements, q=pν, p a prime, and Mat2.2( q) the vector space of 2×2-matrices over . The group GL(2, ) acts on Mat2,2( q) by conjugation. In this note, we determine the invariants of this action. In contrast to the case of an infinite field, where the trace and determinant generate the ring of invariants, several new invariants appear in the case of finite fields.  相似文献

We introduce one special form of the ptimesp × 2 (p≥2) tensors by multilinear orthonormal transformations, and present some interesting properties of the special form. Through discussing on the special form, we provide a solution to one conjecture proposed by Stegeman and Comon in a conference paper (Proceedings of the EUSIPCO 2009 Conference, Glasgow, Scotland, 2009), and reveal an important conclusion about subtracting a best rank‐1 approximations from p × p × 2 tensors of the special form. All of these confirm that consecutively subtracting the best rank‐1 approximations may not lead to a best low rank approximation of a tensor. Numerical examples show the correctness of our theory. The Poincaré series of the algebra of -invariants of m-tuples of 2×2 matrices is presented both as a rational function and as a series of Schur functions. We show that this algebra of invariants is generated by the determinants, the mixed discriminants and the discriminants of 2×2 matrices. Consequences on invariants of three-dimensional matrices of the shape 2×2×m are discussed. For arbitrary n2, we prove an explicit functional equation for the Poincaré series of the -invariants of m-tuples of n×n matrices.  相似文献

设R是一阿贝尔环(R的所有幂等元都在中心里),A是R上的一幂等阵.本文证明了以下结果:(a)A相抵于一对角阵当且仅当A相似于一对角阵;(b)若R是一APT(阿贝尔投射平凡)环,则A在相似变换之下可唯一地化为对角形diag{e1, ..., en},这里ei整除ei+1;(c)R是APT环当且仅当R/I是APT环,这里I是环R的一幂零理想.由(a),还证明了分离的阿贝尔正则环是APT环.  相似文献

Let r=(r1, r2) and c=(c1,…,cn) be positive integer partitions of N. Let Σrc denote the set of all 2×n arrays of nonnegative integers whose ith row sums to ri and jth column sums to cj. We consider the problem of randomly generating an element from the uniform distribution over Σrc. This problem arises in statistics where random samples are used to decide whether two attributes are independent. Competing populations of finite automata co‐evolve in an evolutionary algorithm to play two player games. Populations endowed with greater complexity do better against their less complex opponents in a strictly competitive constant sum game. In contrast, complexity determines efficiency levels, but not relative earnings, in a Prisoner's Dilemma game; greater levels of complexity result in mutually higher earnings. With reporting noise, advantages to complexity are lost and efficiency levels are reduced as relatively less complex strategies are selected. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
